Contacting my primary to see what he thinks I should do. Healthcare is a mess and I'm sick of being kicked to the curb. All I did was show up to my appointment, the staff is awful and now, I'm left with no ENT to tell me how to proceed? I need an endoscopy according to the test results. Prior to my procedure, I gathered as much information as possible, and Dr. Sena clearly communicated to me all of the potential risks. Going into this experience, I fully understood that complications are indeed possible and can happen to anyone...regardless of any surgeon's talent and due-diligence. That said, although my surgery went well, I developed a fairly common infection early in the healing process. Dr. Sena went above and beyond to remedy this problem. He saw me multiple times after hours and on weekends, and ultimately performed two more surgical procedures. Not only did Dr. Sena successfully resolve the infection, he also took great care to ensure a satisfactory outcome and aesthetically pleasing result, despite complications. But I said I will and she whispers I bet you will as if I'm not 2 feet from her!!! Then the doctor stephen rouse comes in and says so if heard you have had a sore throat, I started to say" oh I don't know why they are writeing that down I don't have a " he cuts me off and says "AANSWER MY QUESTION, yes or no! Do you have a sore throat!" To which I'm intimidated now and I'm a nervous person to begin with I just say yes or no to his questions. He looks in my throat for a total of 2 secs and gives me a diagnosis!!! I said well what about the abscess he looks in my mouth again but 3 seconds this time and says no you don't who is your doctor I then pointed under my jawline and said the abscess is here he twiddles his fingers on my throat playfully and says no that's your limphnods! Which is not true 2 other doctors have felt the abscess and recommended I go see him for further analysis. I do not recommend at all. 30 seconds in a room not even getting to explain how I've been uncomfortable about my tonsils and barely given an assessment. I have been crying and trying to explain to yale hospital who is associated with them to do something about him. I was told that the incisions would be placed in the natural crease of my eyelids and would be minimally noticeable. However, the scars sit above the crease -- especially on the right side and are more visible than I was led to believe. In addition, both eyes have a noticeable bump on the inner corner near the nose, which was not something I expected or was prepared for. I understand that all surgery involves scarring, but my concern is that the placement and appearance of these scars do not match what I was told during the consultation. When I brought this up during a follow‑up visit, I felt dismissed. The surgeon physically backed away from me as I explained my concerns, which made me feel unheard and uncomfortable. I had hoped for a more supportive and transparent conversation about my options. Overall, I am disappointed with both the outcome and the communication surrounding it.
