Because of the nature of our operation, I was looking for high-quality equipment and overall service and was willing to pay to receive it. After reviewing.my needs with a handful of providers with good reviews, I chose Settler because my conversation with Nelson inspired confidence. As expected, I was pleased with all aspects of the process. What I did not expect, however, was that I would receive products and service that exceeded my lofty expectations at an extremely competitive price. Nelson was transparent throughout the process and helped me select high-quality equipment that met my specific needs while staying within my budget. I was also surprised by the level of operational support provided. Nelson showed me how to use all of the features, but he also set up a number of parameters in advance based on our original discussion without requiring further input. And that support did not stop once the products were installed and the final invoice issued. I am still receiving support on a regular basis. Anytime I have questions, answers are a quick phone call away. Finally, due to my own oversight, my were entirely unreasonable. Nevertheless, met them, and then some, installing my entire less than 48 hours after our initial conversation. I would not recommend asking that kind of turnaround of any provider on a complicated installation, but when I found myself in a bind, the Settler team bailed me out. Last week our system stopped working, I emailed and text Secure One, Ariel responded to me and arranged to come out on 7/25, when Ariel and his helpers arrived, they informed me that the DVR was 'blown' their words, and I needed a new one, they had one on their truck and it would cost $650 which included installation, hooking up 8 wires and the internet relay box. The system is not hardwired into our router but picks up the internet wirelessly through the relay port and an IP address. Ariel argued this point and wanted to mess with our router which I refused as the system, which as I explained to him several times is not hardwired. The app that he said I now had to use IDMSS was awful, and then on top of all of this he left without the system working. Our IT guy came out and input the IP address and it worked.... While our IT guy was at our home I had him install a new internet relay booster, basically because we could ! I then researched the DVR that Secure Tech installed and found it was nowhere near the price I had been charged and as I said the app is horrible, I emailed Secure Tech and told them that I was dissatisfied and I thought they had gouged us on the price and they needed to come and remove their DVR and refund my money. They did this on Monday 7/29. I ordered a new Night Owl DVR from Amazon and today my IT guy came out yet again,to install the newDVR, he decided to see if the old unit was actually 'blown', what a surprise, it worked perfectly, the original internet relay box had a port that had malfunctioned, but Secure Tech did not test the box, they just decided that the DVR was not working and we needed to pay exorbitantly for a new one. I would not recommend this company ever, in my opinion I think Ariel and his crew need training on how to research what the problem is on a system before making statements, causing needless hassle and over pricing their components and their capabilities.

I reached back out to the company to resolve this issue by asking for a refund, and I was told the transaction is legal on their system and they wouldn't refund me, even though I was not aware of the charge, and I do not have auto pay setup. I asked to cancel my service when they wouldn't resolve my complain, they ran me around a loop of five different customer service agents and refused to cancel my service. What law permits a business operation like this? My next move will be a law suit against Vivint, as no business should be allowed to deep their hands in a customer's account, without the customers permission.

I do not understand the negative reviews. I called Dion. He said he was on the way home from the doctor but would stop by to look at what we needed. And he was at our house in a very short time. He did not charge anything for coming over to check what we needed. We made an appointment and the worker was over at the time and day he said he would be over. He had an assistant. She was continually cleaning up the messes made by the electrician. She also assisted in in anyway he needed, from handing him tools, retrieving materials he had neatly stacked up in the garage, plus more. We had a very difficult job that that no one else wanted to do. Two said they either said no to doing the job. Two companies would not reply to messages left on their phone . One company (Milestone) came over, and seriously botched the job, that we will have to pay to have it all redone. One company came over three times. He had an apprentice that was so slow. Since we paid by the hour, we paid way too much. Also we had to pay by the hour for each person. Never paying by the hour again! After the 3rd time, he never came back even though he was not finished. He never even repaired the holes in the wall that he made. Of course he did not answer our messages either Another company said he knew how to do the job and had done it many times before. (many times turned out to be 2!) When he came over to see the scope of the job, he said he did not know how to do what I asked him to do. But we did not have to pay a trip charge at least. The job was a big job and time consuming. We had the plastic wires replaced with metal conduate wiring in 2 rooms. This stuff is hard to work with, but they never complained. They are very nice people. He seemed so experienced, and solved every problem that came up. They answered every question that I had, and did not mind. We were sent a professional looking quote for the job via E-mail, so I did not have to pay extra for talking to them. I hate quotes scribbled down on a napkin. One day of the days they came, it happened to be my birthday. They brought over a cheese cake for me! As far as not paying his employees, I would not know about that. One day, 2 more people came to help out. I did not have to pay extra. Before I found this company, it was a nightmare. Advanced Electronics are a breath of fresh air. Advanced electric is by far the best company I've dealt with in my 23 years of being in the metroplex. I've used them in both of my homes and my office. They're always on time and more importantly, they give me the best prices out of anyone else I've received quotes from. Feels tremendous to know that when I call them they are always prompt, do excellent work, and don't have to worry about being overcharged. Turns out they know nothing about the permit process or how to properly install the pole. The outlets were not attached the line wasn't installed high enough and more fails. On April 2nd we got a Red Tag that cost us $75 that they refuse to re-imburse for. The fail was their fault. We paid for this pole in 2 payments in February that to this day they dispute the 2nd payment. After several onsite visits they finally figured out how to install the pole correctly and we got a Green Tag on May 14th... 3 months later. Now they say that we owe them $1137.50 and when I spoke with the female at the office she called me a liar. If I don't get a paid in full invoice today, I will be contacting my attorney. DO NOT USE THIS HACK FOR A TEMPORARY POLE

Caution on using Carroll Service - what was communicated and what happened are two completely…read moredifferent things: I called Gabe Carroll on a Friday after seeing his Yelp reviews, looking for a quote on electrical work at a rental property -- we have renters moving in and wanted to make sure everything was up to code and safe. Gabe said he could come out that Monday to provide a quote, and mentioned I'd get a message from an automated system but told me to ignore it, so I did. Monday morning, one of his workers arrived before Gabe and began pulling out switches and other items before any quote had been given or fees discussed. My son was the only one home at the time. Gabe arrived shortly after to assess the work needed, then called me to walk through what he'd found and said I'd have a quote to review within a few minutes. When the quote arrived, it included a $149 service fee and a $159 diagnostic fee in addition to the repair estimate -- none of which had been mentioned to me beforehand. When I questioned this, Gabe said I had agreed to the fees via the automated message -- the same message he'd told me to ignore, and which I never opened. He sent a screenshot of a calendar entry with a checkmark as "proof" of my agreement. I had gotten quotes from other electricians at no cost, which is what I expected here too, so I could compare pricing fairly before committing to work. When I pushed back on the fees, Gabe became confrontational: he called the police (who, after speaking with him, apologized for the call and left), threatened to send my account to collections, and contacted city code enforcement about violations he'd found. I'm now working directly with the inspector on those items, which is exactly the kind of oversight I wanted a professional's help with in the first place. When I mentioned I'd be leaving a review, Gabe said he'd sue me for slander. My advice: get any fees confirmed in writing before agreeing to a "quote" visit, and consider getting quotes elsewhere -- several other local electricians will do this at no charge and not be so hostile in the interactions.

These type of smoke detectors don't have a 9-volt that can be replaced. Supervisor John Whitfield, Customer Value Manager at Mister Sparky got snappy with me so I called the police. His worker walked out and drove away without replacing anything. So, this company doesn't care about pleasing customers, just ripping them off. Be careful of wolves in sheep's clothing. In ~45 minutes, he had the problem diagnosed, FIXED, and the AC blasting again. I knew that I would have to pay extra for the after-hours emergency AC house-visit, but I think it was a fair price at the end of it, and definitely worth every penny.
