I have been having eye issues and I can't thank the Johnson Eye Care team for being so patient and focused on helping me. I have been wearing glasses since I have been a kid and was extremely impressed with how sophisticated all of the equipment their equipment was. It's extremely professional and was able to get to the root of the issues with my issue while Dr Schoepke did a deep look into what I have going on. Being that I am a very technical person ... I was geeking out with all the gear the have ( can you tell ). Oh btw no Air blowing in your eyes here to check your pressure... on top of it Dr Schoepke said those tests are no very reliable. Here's the deal... a year ago I was told from sketchy Dr in the western suburbs that I have a rare eye issue and I would have to go to Canada to stop for going blind in the future. I was relieved that this is not true and the issue I have just needs to be monitored. I have had a weight on my shoulders since that last visit.... I can believe I waited this long. To top it off the they have a great selection of glasses and Mary was extremely helpful picking out the right frames for me. Big thank you to the Johnson Eye care Team. If you follow me you probably know I am very picky and I can tell you I would HIGHLY recommend coming here to get the best care. Wow!

There was a black-haired man in Optical also--I don't know if he's still there. The last time I was there, I'd asked him a question about the way my glasses rested on my face. At first, he dismissed me. When I pressed for an answer, he became agitated, scowling and loudly telling me he didn't "understand." I tried to calmly explain again as he stood there, arms crossed with the scowl on his face until a kind, blonde woman intervened. I can see fine; I just needed an updated prescription. Clearly he was looking to make money and not recommend the best thing for me - his patient. We Went through all of the steps and the prescription he gave me isn't correct. I don't know if he wrote it down wrong or what but the script is wrong. I have been to this practice for several years and all of the providers I saw previously were outstanding. I think it says a lot about the practice that all of those other ophthalmologists have left and only newly graduated, inexperienced ones are there now. I am not going back.

Is this a general ophthalmology or an emergency ophthalmology ward? It's pretty difficult to tell…read morewith how fast they can get same day and next day appointments for urgent issues. Before you think about driving to the emergency room give them a call for minor and moderate eye issues. They might be able to see you quickly. I was a next morning after reporting anomaly in the afternoon day before. The office is clean well kept and equipment is of current generation. Phoropters and slit lamps are original early 2000s installs very well maintained and kept with pristine lenses. Staff are caring and nice and handle exams quickly. Dilation waiting area was in the center but was told to go to main waiting which was a slight workflow deficiency, I will not deduct stars for workflow deficiency. Points will be deducted Appearance 90 (some corners of exam chairs have peeled paint and could use a repaint and refresh. The leather as well has cracked on some seats making a reupholstery job a favorable management decision in addition to light repainting and updating the overall offices decor. It feels like it's stuck in 2004) Staff 100 (absolute gems of staff here. Very caring and patient even with rather sketchy eye control in cerebral palsy exam. A CP exam can take up to 70% more time than a standard exam. Here a CP exam takes averaged across five exams approximately 20% longer than a standard persons exam which is impressive efficiency with high complexity care.) Equipment 100 (while cosmetic issues exist such as peeling paint actual equipment is kept in pristine condition and works as expected. In fact the auto diagnostic machine was so clean I plopped my head down and they said "hang on hang on I haven't even wiped it yet!" Your fault for it looking perfectly ready!) Workflow 85 (this one was the hardest to deduct for. They had a central interior waiting room with no windows for dilating patients. Instead they had everyone waiting in main today. Not sure if this was due to the water issue in the building or if this was a workflow defect. Will follow up next exam and remind them of proper use of the dilation room to avoid over irritation of patient eyes during the wait and to improve COVID-19 distancing for patients by keeping dilating patients away from the main waiting to protect them while eyes are in a more vulnerable state.) Overall rating 95/100 A+ 5/5

My husband got his first pair of glasses ever and they were progressives. His fitting was done very well and it only took a day or 2 to get used to them. All things considered- going from nothing to progressive lenses- I know the measurements and adjustments were spot on. I can not say enough good things about this place.
