Dr. Omar Awad has done 75000+ procedures which was more than even the person in the informational videos who only did 60000! Plus the entire team made me feel comfortable and were friendly and honest about what to expect. They made it clear what to expect and gave me the proper droplets and post treatment LASIK instructions clearly. I feel like the people who left negative reviews really just don't read or don't follow instructions. Recovery took me 1 long sleep (11 hours), they do LASIK as late as 6pm appointments (I waited and got mine around 6:30pm). Overall, it was a painless and enjoyable experience and they do a rigorous prescreening process if you're eligible. I've had terrible vision since childhood (-0.5 on both sides), and saved up some HSA funds for the procedure. I'd seen countless LASIK ads and deals ($1000 off, etc.) over the years, so sought out a local spot - there are several to choose from in the Twin Cities area. The process went super fast! First, I signed up for an online call to confirm details about my eyes, then the following week I had an in-person consultation. Here's a look at how the process went: CONSULTATION: About an hour and a half long - super detailed, basically a thorough eye exam plus discussion and videos on the LASIK process and a breakdown of cost. At the end, they scheduled me for the following week (!!) for surgery. SURGERY DAY: I had my partner drive me to my appointment, and was in and out in under a half hour. I got my bag of post-op eye drops and pills and info packet, watched a video on aftercare, and waited my turn for the surgery room. SURGERY: I was in and out of the surgery room in under 5 minutes! They numb your eyes, use one machine to make the laser incision, and then walk you to the second machine to make the adjustments to your eye and secure the incision back up. POST-OP: My eyes were numb for the 15 minutes after, so I was feeling great! I walked out with their assistance to my partner's car and he drove me home. When the numbing drops wore off I was pretty uncomfortable for 30 mins, but went home and took tylenol/benadryl and took the mandatory 4-hour nap. When I woke up, the uncomfiness was gone and I could see clearly! I wore sunglasses and took it easy that day, but was so excited how easy it was. RECOVERY: Over the next week, I used the prescribed eye drops and generic eye drops, plus eye lubricant pills. I continued the eye drops and pills for the next few months (still now). My vision got better and better over the few days after my surgery, and I see perfectly. 4 STARS: I had a bit of a strange experience with scheduling, which is why this wasn't a full 5-star experience for me: The surgeon is from Idaho and wanted to take an earlier flight on the day of my scheduled surgery, and he texted me a few nights before my surgery to ask me to reschedule. I had already made work arrangements so it was a challenge to reschedule, and it felt a bit weird to be getting texts directly from the doctor. He also made some female-related comments during the short surgery that came off a bit strange. However, all of the rest of the staff was incredible!

Anything you have to do outside of the actual facility is time consuming, frustrating, and requires a lot of patience as you will get bounced around and some phone numbers ring and then abruptly ends. Dr. Tanner though once I got to see him was really professional and compassionate. The notes left in my file were helpful to review. Otherwise it was a hot mess.

**Above and beyond during an emergency visit**…read more My son was sent to AOMS for an unexpected emergency visit after his regular dentist accidentally punctured the roof of his mouth while unsuccessfully trying to remove a back molar. From the moment we arrived, every person we interacted with was fast, efficient, and incredibly professional. They got us in quickly, examined the puncture, and clearly explained what they were seeing and what needed to be done next. They not only successfully removed the back molar, but also found and removed small shard fragments left behind in another extraction site from the earlier appointment. Throughout the whole process they were patient, kind, and very reassuring with both me and my son, checking in on his comfort level and walking us through each step so there were no surprises. What impressed me most was how they made a stressful, last‑minute emergency visit feel smooth and organized, almost as if it had been planned in advance. I had opted for Novocain and what amazed me was I barely felt the shots as they went in to my gums, and I hate needles. The surgeon then proceeded to extract the teeth and did so with care, always checking in with me to see how I was doing. Thee was even a moment when we had to stop so I could be numbed a bit more. I appreciated being told what was going to be done and the explaining what was happening as we went on. In my opinion, this is definitely a quality practice.

As a 30-something male, I am what you'd probably consider to be a non-traditional patient since I am often older than many of the parents sitting in the waiting room with their kids. I was quite nervous about moving forward with getting braces for all the usual reasons--cost, care, inconvenience, getting teased by school yard bullies etc. Ok,I embellished the last one, but you catch my drift. From my initial consultation with Cara, I was put at ease and impressed with the care that the staff puts forth. She helped me figure out what my insurance would cover and all the money matters, even making a friendly inquiry months later since I was dragging my feet on going through with it. I finally mustered up the courage about 6 months after my consultation and made the transformation to metal mouth. I am probably annoying with all of my questions ranging from important to insignificant, but the staff has all been so great to me throughout this process that my anxieties have been quelled. Dr. Chad Kelley has done nice work and I am very happy with how great my teeth are looking now. I am getting closer to the end of my treatment and am going to miss seeing all my new buddies I've made over the last 1.5 years. They seem to truly enjoy what they are doing and it makes for a better experience. I highly recommend TC Ortho to anyone that needs braces.
