Was surprised by how nice everyone was and looking at the reviews, most people are just cheapskates. These are your EYEs and it's important to have a good and experienced eye doctor. Dr. Omar Awad has done 75000+ procedures which was more than even the person in the informational videos who only did 60000! Plus the entire team made me feel comfortable and were friendly and honest about what to expect. They made it clear what to expect and gave me the proper droplets and post treatment LASIK instructions clearly. I feel like the people who left negative reviews really just don't read or don't follow instructions. Recovery took me 1 long sleep (11 hours), they do LASIK as late as 6pm appointments (I waited and got mine around 6:30pm). Overall, it was a painless and enjoyable experience and they do a rigorous prescreening process if you're eligible. I had LASIK done by Dr. Awad at LASIK Plus. Spoiler: I can see now, which is great. But the road to 20/20 wasn't exactly smooth sailing. I was surprised to find out that four of us were scheduled for the exact same 1:00 p.m. slot. I was the first one called back--at 1:50. So while the actual procedure really did only take about 10 minutes (they were right about that), plan to be at the clinic longer than you think. If you've got someone helping with childcare or driving, let them know to expect a longer visit. Before the procedure, they gave me numbing drops. I couldn't feel pain, but I was still very aware of the pressure and movement. I could see things happening--which, if you've never had someone work directly on your eyeball, is not exactly calming. At one point (okay, three times), I accidentally dislodged the eyelid holder they use to keep your eye open. I didn't even know that was possible, but it turns out if you're anxious and reactive, your eye might fight back. At my consult, I'd asked about meds to help with anxiety and pain afterward. Both were brushed off--"you'll be fine, just take a nap." That nap never happened. What did happen was five straight hours of burning, stinging pain that had me crying--not from nerves, just pure fire-in-your-eyeballs misery. The good news: I can see great now. But my eyes are still very dry, I need drops every hour, and I'm super sensitive to light. I also get eye fatigue quickly when I'm on the computer. Looking back, I wish I'd taken two full days off just to rest and recover instead of pushing through. Bottom line: the results are worth it, but don't go into it expecting a breezy experience. Everyone who has had LASIK always told me, "Once you get it, you'll wish you got it sooner". I can confirm that's 100% true, thanks to LasikPlus! I've had terrible vision since childhood (-0.5 on both sides), and saved up some HSA funds for the procedure. I'd seen countless LASIK ads and deals ($1000 off, etc.) over the years, so sought out a local spot - there are several to choose from in the Twin Cities area. The process went super fast! First, I signed up for an online call to confirm details about my eyes, then the following week I had an in-person consultation. Here's a look at how the process went: CONSULTATION: About an hour and a half long - super detailed, basically a thorough eye exam plus discussion and videos on the LASIK process and a breakdown of cost. At the end, they scheduled me for the following week (!!) for surgery. SURGERY DAY: I had my partner drive me to my appointment, and was in and out in under a half hour. I got my bag of post-op eye drops and pills and info packet, watched a video on aftercare, and waited my turn for the surgery room. SURGERY: I was in and out of the surgery room in under 5 minutes! They numb your eyes, use one machine to make the laser incision, and then walk you to the second machine to make the adjustments to your eye and secure the incision back up. POST-OP: My eyes were numb for the 15 minutes after, so I was feeling great! I walked out with their assistance to my partner's car and he drove me home. When the numbing drops wore off I was pretty uncomfortable for 30 mins, but went home and took tylenol/benadryl and took the mandatory 4-hour nap. When I woke up, the uncomfiness was gone and I could see clearly! I wore sunglasses and took it easy that day, but was so excited how easy it was. RECOVERY: Over the next week, I used the prescribed eye drops and generic eye drops, plus eye lubricant pills. I continued the eye drops and pills for the next few months (still now). My vision got better and better over the few days after my surgery, and I see perfectly. 4 STARS: I had a bit of a strange experience with scheduling, which is why this wasn't a full 5-star experience for me: The surgeon is from Idaho and wanted to take an earlier flight on the day of my scheduled surgery, and he texted me a few nights before my surgery to ask me to reschedule. I had already made work arrangements so it was a challenge to reschedule, and it felt a bit weird to be getting texts directly from the doctor. He also made some female-related comments during the short surgery that came off a bit strange. However, all of the rest of the staff was incredible! read more

Do not recommend at all. I had LASIK in China back to 2008 when I was 18. Couple years ago, I started wearing glass again. I was very excited to get LASIK in the United States. I went to in today and had my eyes examined. The optometrist told me I can only had an outdated treatment PRK done due to prior LASIK treatment. It's "safer" to do so. Lol. After some homework. I learned PRK is outdated for the past 15 years. There is no single eye correction institution is preforming PRK nowadays in China. Why we have to use such backward technique to correct eye version?? Why we are going to use an outdated third word eye treatment to correct version just because it's "safer? " The optometrist were telling me he could not guarantee a 20/20 prefect vision to me. The goal is improving my vision instead. Are you kidding me?? Do you really think that I want to throw away few grand of my hard earned money to a painful, outdated procedure that can not even guarantee my surgery outcome?? Just lol. Hard pass. read more

Here is an update on my review of LasikPlus in Maple Grove. Emailed, emailed again, and haven't heard a word. That's fine. I will keep talking people out of going to get their eye's done there. I make sure to tell everyone about the service and my crappy vision sense my procedure. I just don't want others to go threw what I have. I don't want people to give them $4000.00 to get worthless service and end up wearing prescription glass after their procedure. That's right folks. I went from wearing $5 reading glasses, to buying $1400.00 prescription glasses because of this place. Paid $4000.00 to get worse vision. Nice work Lasik. read more

I wanted to get Lasik for the longest time because it was such a hassle with glasses or contacts. One of my friends got her Procedure done here at: LasikPlus and fully recommended it! I scheduled an eye exam and literally later that week got it done! The staff was very sweet and showed that they really care about you and anything you're concerned about. They are also very experienced, especially the doctor who did the procedure. The procedure itself was quick and they walk through what you will experience after, as well as stock you up with drops and make sure you understand when and how many to take. My experience with Lasik Plus was great!!! I had PKR on 1 eye after Lasik eye surgery on both eyes about 25 years ago. The actual procedure took less than 10 min. The doctor(s) where thorough and explained what would happen during the procedure, and helped keep me calm by re-explaining each step as they went and telling me it was all going smoothly. After the procedure, I went home and slept basically for 3 full days and nights. When awake, I stayed in bed listening to books on audible or podcasts. I really think that helped my healing process. The team at Lasik was excellent. I initially thought I should get both eyes corrected however the staff at Lasik Plus, KNEW that might not be the best way to go. I am so happy I listened to them. I am 1 month out of the surgery, and the eye that had the procedure is now seeing distance perfectly! I enjoy "testing" each eye every day and being VERY pleased with my results. I ended up choosing this place over other options because of the customer service. The staff wanted to answer my questions, made sure to know and remember my name, and were extremely efficient. I was consistently early to appointments, but I still got in right away. I just got the operation last week, so I am not able to speak on the long-term surgery itself, but the consultation and the operation were a breeze. I felt well prepared and that I knew what to expect. At consultations with other LASIK places, I didn't feel like they wanted me to be fully informed. Updated Review: I went to LasikPlus in Maple Grove, MN Nov. 2019. I had the monovision laser procedure and I also paid for the Advantage Plan which you're suppposed to be able to have future adjustments. At first, it was wonderful being able to read again without cheaters but that only lasted for 2 1/2 years. Slowly I had to start using glasses to read again. Unfortunately, this procedure continuously irritated my eyes. They are always very dry so I have to put medicated drops in all of the time. The whites of my eyes are no longer white but constantly look red and dull. I never in my life had this issue nor any family member. They can't claim it's hereditary. I've had my eyes checked yearly and the latest Optometrist stated that I have the beginnings of cataracts. (60 yrs old) EVERYONE eventually gets cataracts which voids the Advantage Plan for any future adjustments. The beginnings of cataracts could be the same for the next several years but that doesn't matter to LasikPlus. Maybe when I'm 80+ I can have cataract surgery and then go back to LasikPlus to have the adjustment done. After all of this I would not have had this procedure done. The cost, the 2 1/2 yrs of not using glasses and the dry eye caused by this isn't worth it. Think twice before proceeding. Do your research and decide from there if it's worth it for you. read more

Went there during covid, and I started having trouble IMMEDIATELY. I call multiple times (because of covid you had to leave messages) and NEVER got a call back. Now, several years later, im having trouble seeing out of one eye, and it itches all the time. (Mind you, I paid extra for the unlimited care). Well, I called today, and they won't see me. They said I needed to check with primary even though I paid the extra money. So basically, i can't see out of one eye, and they refuse to help me even though i paid extra! Excellent staff, but bogus "lifetime warranty" less than a year after lasik surgery my distance vision started to regress, after numerous visits with my primary optician and a referral for revision, the team at LasikPlus deemed me not qualified for revision BUT happily kept all the money I spent on a surgery that was not effective. What a poor experience: 1. I was referred by another provider due to scheduling conflicts, then the price I was quoted wasn't honored, and instead was increased by over $1000 2. They were ridiculously pushy on scheduling 3. I asked about the possibility of financing. A week later I got a credit card in the mail that I had "signed up for". Had mono vision Lasik on Friday (May 5). By that evening I was seeing as clearly as I do with contacts. I won't lie and say the healing is painless- I wasn't able to sleep right away when I got home, and there is some significant discomfort - bordering on pain - for the first 2 hours after the numbing drops wear off. But, that subsides to a dull ache, and then just some haziness and light sensitivity for the remainder of the day. The next day- Saturday- was bright and sunny, and I was just fine with sunglasses and could drive. The doctor that performed the procedure was very good about meeting with me ahead of time to answer any questions. I have an autoimmune disorder and am on methotrexate, so we talked about the dynamics of those two issues and any risks they may have posed. He felt comfortable doing the procedure, so I felt comfortable letting him. So if I could impart wisdom on anyone having the procedure it would be: 1) schedule it for early in the am, and don't plan on driving anywhere at all that day 2) a shot of hard liquor and some NyQuil helps get you through the sleeping part if you aren't sensitive to the Valium they give you ahead of the procedure (I wasn't)- but my advice isn't sanctioned by any medical professionals!! 3) follow their advice and instructions. I have, and 3 days later am told that my eyes look perfect. I have 20/15 vision already. 4) the staff here is great. Went in for my consult on Wednesday, got my procedure done on Friday, and back to see my doctor on Saturday morning. I couldn't be happier with the service I've gotten. I wanted to get things done quickly and the office staff, technicians, and doctors were all very accommodating and most importantly very professional. Dr. White answered all my pre-op questions and helped ease my nerves, Dr. Buntrock did my procedure and was so calm and knowledgeable I felt very comfortable in what was an experience otherwise very much outside my comfort zone. A wonderful experience. I was very anxious going in but the professionalism of the doctors and staff was hugely reassuring. The actual procedure was fast, and painless. I could see better than I ever have in my life instantly, and it keeps getting better. The discomfort afterwards was very manageable with the medication given and as they told me was most intense on the second night. I experienced a stinging burning sensation, no tearing or halos. The third day my eyes were very light sensitive. The fourth day my eyes were very comfortable. Overall, a very reasonable experience for such a miraculous gain. Ok, So I had been thinking about getting lasik surgery to correct my eye site. I did my free consultation and every one was so nice and welcoming. Then they told me that I had to have the PRK treatment and they gave me a bunch of stuff to read. So I was well informed, after all that is what we want is'nt it. I almost chickened out. But I did'nt, I went ahead with it, and now I have extremely good vision in one eye and currently waiting for the other eye to catch up. because of the PRK treatment it takes longer to realize your final results.
