Called to have lock rekeyed, and was quoted ~$75 ($30 + $45). I agreed and when the technician arrived he said it was ~$250. After some discussion and disagreement I said no thanks. He the insisted I pay him $30. I refused to pay since he refused to honor quoted price, There was no justification for the price increase. A man called me to try and save the sale and he explained that they have wonderful reviews. NOT TODAY!! Called Advanced Locksmith in an hour plus my lock was rekeyed for $75. Very unprofessional and rude! My Family and I were pulling out of the mall parking lot when an individual in this companies vehicle proceeded to honk at us and throw his hands up bc we didn't pull out fast enough! (mind you it's raining outside and I have kids in the car) I'm not sure if this dude gets paid by the job and not by the hour and that's why he was in such a rush to get around us but either way he was in a company vehicle representing this business and it was very unprofessional! Yes I did flip him off after the fact in which he continued being a total douchebag! So I called and the same person being obnoxious answered the phone telling me we were taking to long to pull out and that we should have turned faster! I called advanced locksmith on a Sunday evening, on Mother's Day in fact and they were the only ones to answer this stressed mothers call. Being new to our home we hadn't yet set up our garage entry keypad, and the remote I was given from previous homeowners died. Battery replacement wouldn't fix it. Great service! Gerald was super nice and showed up within 15 minutes of my call. He had my car unlocked within 2 minutes. Price was extremely reasonable too. Cash is preferred but it sounded like cards were accepted. I highly recommend!! Also, a tip from Gerald: put your spare keys on a piece of wire on if hiding them on your vehicle. Most vehicles nowadays don't have enough metal on them to support the magnetic spare key boxes now. Lesson learned. read more

Mr. Mitchell is absolutely the best. We live in Madisonville Texas where there are no locksmiths in town. My daughter locked her keys inside her new house around 8:45 pm . We called 2 or 3 BCS and Huntsville locksmiths and all they did was give us the runaround. You could tell they didn't want to come out. By the way, money was not an issue!! Called two days ago and set up an appointment for them to change my locks at 8:30am on Friday. Everything was on go as far as I knew. No one called to change a thing. Gerald called me back and assured me he would be there soon to take care of me. He did! Not only did he rekey three doors at my house but it cost me half the price of what another business offered. He is a wonderful person, highly skilled, and very knowledgeable. He even gave me some safety tips on securing my home and he didn't mind showing me how the locking mechanisms function. I contacted Gerald about unlocking a two-way deadbolt lock and it was unnecessarily unpleasant to talk with him. At some point in the conversation he asked me to take a picture of my lock and send it to him, which I did. He essentially said there's a very good chance it couldn't be done and that he'd have to drill through the lock. I told him another locksmith had successfully picked the lock on another occasion, but he remained emphatic that it would be nearly impossible. I asked him him how much it would cost just for him to come out and take a look at it, and he quoted me a price (which was reasonable), but as he quoted me the price, he took a surprisingly aggressive tone and said that I must pay even if he couldn't unlock it. I mean, I think that's implied, don't you? Considering the innocent nature of my request, I think his need to angrily overemphasize an unconditional payment in this context suggests that he has poor character himself. In any case, I still needed my lock serviced, so I said sure, please come by. Earlier, when I sent him the picture, he called me twice in a row and I missed both calls, but called him back 2 minutes afterwards, no exaggeration. As we were ending the conversation, he gave me a hard time about having missed his calls and he wanted to know how he was going to be able to get in touch with me when he got to me apartment. He said, "Are you going to answer my calls this time?" At that point I decided I didn't want to deal with him any further and told him I'd find someone else. It was pretty clear he just didn't want to do it and didn't find it worth his time. If that's the case, I understand, but why don't you save both of us the trouble and just tell me that instead of giving me the run-around? I eventually found someone else who took less than 20 minutes from the time I called him to unlock it (so much for being impossible). In summary, this man is overly-skeptical, impatient, and unpleasant to deal with. There's nothing "Aggie" about him, and there are much more professional locksmiths in BCS. Look elsewhere. read more
