This is my 3rd visit for accupuncture I have chronic pain. I am already starting to notice a change in my pain levels. After leaving here I know I'll be pain free for at least 48hrs this is huge to me. That's 48hrs of no medication which is my ultimate goal. I started seeing Cindy after all attempts to alleviate my torn arm tendon were pretty much exhausted. My only options were the cortisone shot or surgery. I was unable to golf for months. I had gone to another acupuncture person and after 3 visits, there was no relief. After my first visit with Cindy, my arm seemed to be feeling better. After 3 sessions, I definitely knew my arm was getting better and it was because of Cindy. While I hate needles, the minimal needle prick was well worth the increased ability to use my arm. Cindy knows what acupuncture spots will alleviate pain and aching muscles. I'm now seeing her for relief of vertigo and headaches. After just 1 session, my vertigo is very minimal and we are working on clearing my headaches. I definitely have noticed a vast improvement of my headaches after just one treatment. I would definitely recommend Cindy to anyone who is suffering from pain and especially to try it before surgery or anything invasive. Cindy and her staff are amazing. The first thing I must say is that they are not located at the aiea medical building and if you google map the location, it will take you to their old location which is in the medical building. They are now located across the street by McDonald's. When I first entered the office I was welcomed by Cindy's receptionist. She was talkative and knowledgeable and notified me that Cindy was running behind. I didn't mind the wait as normal doctor visits have an average wait of an hour. I waited for about 1/2hr and was seen right after. I didn't notice how fast the time flew because her receptionist is such a great conversationalist. As I entered the room to get my skin tag removed I was really nervous but Cindy told me exactly what was about to happen and she was very patient with me. I could understand why there was a wait, she takes time to get to know who you are and make sure you are comfortable before proceeding with the procedure. It's been awhile since I visited Advanced Medi Spa for a treatment. Found out that they moved inside of the mini mall and I have to say the spa looks AMAZING! Aside from the decor, I had some joint issues and Cindy fixed it instantly. I guess I somehow injured myself (as usual) and figure it will go away. A week later I'm still in pain. So I decided to visit Cindy. Right away she knew what was wrong. By the time the session was done, my pain was gone. AWESOME!!!!! To start, I bought a Groupon package as a gift for my husband. I called the day I purchased it and left a message to book an appointment. The owner (Cindy) called me after about 6 hours with such a rude tone stating that she had no room for me to book an appointment. Also that the service I $paid for, wasn't her priority. I then asked if she had ANY available days, and she rudely exclaimed that she would call me when one possibly may open up. I would advise Everyone not to use her services, DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON coupon. I'm also a healthcare provider, and people like Cindy don't deserve ANY recognition as a "medical provider". Doctors earn there degrees by going to an approved medical/Nursing school to use DR. at the beginning of there names, stop fronting. Go to school and earn yours. read more

RUN AWAY from this terrible place!!!! I bought a groupon for laser treatment for hyperpigmentation of sun exposure for here. Originally it was for the face, but I paid "extra" to have it done on my arms instead (and thank God I decided not to treat my face). First of all this place is dingy and dirty. That should have made me leave but I had already paid for it so I stuck it out. Worse. Idea. Ever. Cindy "treated" my forearms with a laser machine that felt like a hot curling iron. Not only was this excruciatingly painful, but she didn't treat my skin evenly so I was left with random square patches of red, burnt, blistering skin. Cindy informed me that this was "normal" and I would have to come in for multiple treatments in order to finish. Yeah right, all that meant was more money for her. I never went back. Instead, I endured weeks of painful healing and was left with bare white square patches of skin where she had given me very severe 2nd degree burns. I had to go to my doctor to treat my burns, they were THAT bad!! After I had healed enough, I then had to pay extra money (5 treatments and over $600) to my dermatologist to try and correct the damage that CMC Medi Spa did to my arms. My derm was "appalled" at what happened to me and called Cindy's treatment of my skin barbaric. So, consider yourself warned...stay far far away from this horrific establishment!!!!! read more

I only rated it a 2 because the owner Cindy was very nice and excepted my expired Groupon, although she had to call groupon to see if she could. But other than that I've had issues with them. 1. They never answer the phone. 2. The first 2 appointments I made, the therapist was a no show. I was promised a 20% discount at that time. 3. The 3rd appointment which I went recently. I got there 15 minutes prior and it was closed. Cindy called me at 5 min to my appointment and said she's stuck in traffic. I waited bc I wanted to use this Groupon already. She (Cindy) got there around 1020. My appt time was 10. 4. She had her dog with her, which was so cute and I love dogs, but when she said her dog usually barks loud at ppl I thought "why would you bring it? " 5. I waited until 1130 for my massage to even start. 6. Why the wait? She was on the phone with Groupon talking about my Groupon and her up coming Groupon and then she addressed 2 customers that walked in. I waited patiently. 7. I told her about the 2 missed appointments but didn't offer any discounts or apologies, she just said that worker was let go. She did offer to massage longer but I was running out of time so I declined. 8. The sheets on the table was questionable. 9. So my appt time was 10. It began at 1130. 10. I had a thin sheet to cover. It was cold. 11. I asked for deep tissue, nothing near that. 12. She spent 30 minutes just pressing on my shoulder blades and ribs. 13. I didn't even fall asleep bc the massage never got started. Just a lot of pressing and holding it there. Very unusual. 14. I just wanted it to stop it was the worst massage ever. 15. I paid $100 for the Groupon the svc was 70. She was going to give me a gift card for the leftover but I can't endure that again. I told her keep the rest. 16. Oh yeah the dog was in the room with us and barked a few times. So relaxing. Cindy talks incessantly, which made me uncomfortable because I'm a client not her therapist. While waiting, I also witnessed her treat a couple of clients with such disrespect when they had a dispute about her services. Cindy took the time to explain everything to me despite my 101 questions! She is very knowledgable on the human body and skin issues. Purchased a Groupon for 10 skin tag removals. Cindy is very knowledgeable and let's you ask her any questions pertaining to skin care. Went in to remove my ugly skin tags, quick and easy! Pain level was like "whatevers" because it was like nothing! Cindy explained to me skin tags are like tree stumps, if you cut the trees down they still grow back. Similar to what happened to my skin tags. What I needed to do was get down into the root and take it out. Which made a lot of sense. That's exactly what she did, she uprooted them, never to be seen again. I still have a few more skin tags to remove. I'm looking forward to returning to Cindy and get these ugly tags uprooted forever! Beside the skin tags she consulted with me on skin care which left me more educated and more interested in taking care of my skin. I came across this little gem on accident while attempting go to ice garden which is located directly across from the AMS. I was reading brochures and got lured in to a 10 minute massage for $10 it was a great little massage to release my shoulders. Then I started to talk to the friendly receptionist Sharron, where I decided to get a facial. A week later and I got my facial by Cindy and it was amazing I ended up adding on some acupuncture and some daily face wash. Cindy was beyond amazing not to mention it was my first time getting acupuncture and Cindy made me feel so comfortable. I have been seeing Cindy for a couple of years now for acupuncture treatments and have found my health and wellbeing improve dramatically. Specifically, I see her for pain management after having surgery for spinal stenosis where I had pain radiating down my arm to the point I didn't want to do anything but take pain medication. Her treatments have reduced my pain to the point where I don't need medication everyday, and the rest of my body feels better as well. She was very friendly and constantly made certain that I was comfortable. I don't know what to say about this place. It's like I was in the twilight zone during this experience. I purchased 2 groupons for skin tags, one for myself and one for my mother in law. We set up appointments in December for the same day. My procedure was fast and did the job. My mother in law was told that she would need to upgrade to a higher level of laser for the skin spots that she wanted taken care of...and she agreed and paid a much higher price. About 2 weeks after my mother in laws procedure, she called me and asked how long does it take to heal (she lives in Japan)? I then tried to call this office numerous times, no one answers or calls back over a period of at least 2 months. Finally the owner Cindy calls back and says that they have been having phone problems....ok, but I have a question about a procedure you did for my mother in law. She informed me that it normally takes about 2 weeks for the scab to fall off, but it could depend on the persons age etc...she stated that she was a SKIN EXPECT and needed to see her to determine what further steps need to be taken. Cindy then said that she will review my mother in laws paperwork and contact me in a day or so. Well another 2 months go by with no call back or not even answering the phone! finally a receptionist contacts me about 3 weeks ago after finally listening to my voicemails and says that Cindy will call me back. Well she did about another week or so later and said this......I read her paperwork and informed her that she would need more that one procedure in order for the bigger spot to heal properly....really??? ok but what about the other small spots??? This is where Cindy loses it! She says that there is nothing she can do other than refer her to another specialist. What??? I said you told me that you would at least see my mother in law again and see how her skin is healing and determine and further steps and that you are a SKIN EXPERT. Cindy says sorry but she has been having personal problems and doesn't like my tone of voice and SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE!!!! I immediately called back and the receptionist answers. After speaking with her for about 10 minutes stating my case, I felt like what the heck is going on, because Cindy apparently was right next to the receptionist stating that she doesn't want to talk to me! I wasn't mad, just confused at the 180 degree turn around based on my past conversations with her. This is just plain bad business. Seriously. I spent 4 months trying to contact this company about a problem and I get hung up on. This could have been handled better, at least say tell you mother in law to come to the office and we will see what we can do etc.....paid a few hundred dollars just to be treated like this is ridiculous. read more

I first visited Advanced Medi Spa in mid-December 2012 after having been referred by a friend, a local dentist. (My friend had, and continues, to have treatments at Advanced Medi Spa.) I had a "virus" that doctors from a national HMO had been unable to treat successfully since June. I was nauseous and exhausted most of the time, unable to enjoy my usual activities or enjoy food and was not getting well. I was in bed or resting on the sofa most days. I talked to Dr. Cindy Chang on the phone for about 40 minutes detailing my condition and treatment thus far. She asked a lot of pertinent questions and gave me feedback. I was able to get an appointment later that week. From almost the beginning, I began to feel better. I went for an acupuncture treatment twice a week for the first three months, then graduated to once a week, then once a month and am now on a maintenance program in August 2013. Some times Chinese herbs were recommended to enhance my treatment. I gladly took them, following precise directions. I believe this added to the success of my treatments. I have been able to assume my activities/my life, can eat well again and feel so much better. I feel "back to normal" and even better! I am deeply grateful for Cindy's care, wisdom and compassion.
