They listen to how you are doing and make suggestions of how to improve your situation. They adjust the plan as needed. The physical therapy assistants are also special folks. Even after I had been going for weeks, assistants observed and corrected postioning problems from time to time. There is no sense doing exercises if you aren't trying to get the best results! That was appreciated! I have been to two other outpatient PT groups over the years and HealthQuest has absolutely been the best!

Instead, she said as long as you're here let's do some different stretching. She tied a band around my good leg, my good foot, held it tight and told me to turn my ankle without turning my leg, I told her it was hurting all the way up to my thigh. She said that's OK. You're using muscles. You haven't used before. She continued to do this regardless of me telling her it was uncomfortable and I was getting a Charlie horse in my upper thigh. We did this for one minute One Direction one minute the other direction pulling against that band that she was holding tight. When I left and went to get in my car, my knee was bothering me to step up into my car by that afternoon. My knee was aching and by that night, I could hardly walk. I have an appointment this morning with the orthopedic surgeon as it has kept me awake at night and I can't walk my dog. She's done something to my good knee that didn't have a thing wrong with it before I came in would never recommend this place!

Team Rehabilitation did and it helped greatly in my treatment. I was told I could do all of them but when I asked later about a certain one I was then told not to do that one. I ended my therapy when it came time to be checked and measured to get more appointments approved. It wasn't worth my $40 copay for each visit. I have never done that before but I know what good physical therapy should look like and feel like.

My latest was to arrive - 4-5 weeks after our last appointment with a "we have to redo forms, scan insurance card, drivers license, etc as it's a new year.". Nothing has changed? "Yeah - it's our policy." Really? Policy or complete inefficiency? Inefficiency for sure. I then had to sign 3 printed sheets - (is this 2023? Or 1993?). I received a 3 page receipt which I didn't even need a printed receipt for a $15 copay. Why waste the paper and tree? Why not at least ask me if I wanted or needed? Or even better email if I need it (doubtful). Doctor experience ?- great. Office experience? - terrible.

Being as smart as I am ;-), I knew not to go to my primary physician because they would just send me to the hospital for x-rays. I also knew that if I went to a sports medicine Doctor, they would have an x-ray machine onsite and the doctors specialize in injuries such mine. After some research, and calling around a few places, the DMC Sports Medicine office was accommodating for same day service. The receptionist who answered the phone was so so nice and said she could get me into the office to see Dr. Kakos in the afternoon. As many as you have experienced, the receptionists usually think they are doing us a favor by allowing us to be seen- not a this place. Everyone, including the nurse was very pleasant and helpful. Moving on to Dr. Kakos! He was amazing! He had a great attitude, listened, and very thorough. He explained the pros and cons and how he came to his diagnosis. I am so glad I found a good Doctor that specializes in injuries related to the gym/sports.. etc etc. Also, I was very happy that I didn't wait at all.. I was in and out with a x-ray within 1 hour. If I had gone to the ER, I would have been there for 5-6 hours.

Been motorcrossing and doing martial arts and working ever since. Now going to take it to the next level. Don't take the first review from the guy that obviously needs a 'different kind of doctor' and someone to lick his wounds for him lol. Do yourself (and your body a favor) Go here, you will not regret that you did. If recommended physical therapy by all means follow up as advised and remember you only get out of it what you put in. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They didn't take me back until 2:15. The doctor did not come in the room until sometime around 3:30pm. I went to ask if they perhaps forgot about me (this actually happened to me at a different place) and they assured me that this long wait is normal. What? If it's normal then perhaps trying to come up with a solution for this issue would be beneficial. My only bit of solace was knowing that they close at 4:30 so I knew I couldn't be there forever. My appointment lasted under 10 minutes. I had another appointment and because I waited so long the first time, I wanted to arrive exactly at my appointment time. I misjudged the time and would be 10 minutes late. I called though to tell them and I was put on hold. They informed the doctor and he said we would have to reschedule! lol! The person on the phone was super friendly and apologetic but I think it's insane that I can wait so long for my appointment the first time which is "normal" but they couldn't take me 10 minutes late?!? It makes me feel as though they really don't care about me as a patient. At all. I'm in pain and my appointment was just for a steroid shot.
