Had to take my son here a couple of times. It was fairly easy to find, parking wasn't bad and office was fairly nice but not much to brag about beyond that. Apparently there are several doctors who work out of this office and the staff seems to be confused over this sometimes, appointments and messages get overlooked. Poor communication and sometimes your appointment ends up being with an assistant without you being made aware ahead of time. Too unorganized and unprofessional in my opinion. read more

I appreciate the treatment that I have received here. This isn't a pill poppers pain clinic. I went here because they want to make you better not hook you on pills. I have been dealing with back pain since the 70's and after the doctors deadened a couple of the nerves I honestly can say I have little or no pain on the right side and we are slowly working on the left side. They explain all the risks and take adequate precautions. The staff is very professional. Yes they can run a bit long but that means they are taking their time performing procedures. I am very disappointed in this clinic. I was referred to Dr.Mian. On my first visit I filled out paper work and saw the Dr. He sent me for an MRI. That was the first and last time I saw him. When I went for the shot it was done by another doctor. The shot did absolutely NOTHING to help my pain. I had a 2 week review after the surgery, and after waiting 30 minutes a PA came in to talk to me. She asked me "how is your leg doing since the shot?" I never had a problem with my leg! It was my hip joint. They did not give me the correct shot. I cannot understand why after looking at the paper work (if he looked at it at all) and after talking to him and explaining in great length where my pain was why was the correct spot not given the injection. AND why does this doctor not think enough of his patients to do the shot himself, and to do the review afterward himself. My opinion is that this doctor does not care about his patients -- at least he did not care about me!! read more

My wife and I were referred by our family physician over a year ago. While my wife has a combination of several severe conditions impacting her spine, the doctors have patiently listened and worked with her to improve her quality of life. I have also been a patient, with very considerable improvement. Both my knee and my back have been problems and the doctors have made several suggestions that have met the quick approval of my PCP. What I appreciate the most is the attitude of the doctors and the staff. Recognizing that you don't go a pain management clinic unless you are experiencing significant pain, I have never found the staff to be dismissive of my requests or questions. They are excellent physicians working in a tough area of medicine, but they are true professionals. read more

Dear Dr, Basem Hamid! Innova Pain Center in off of 11920 Astoria Blvd #130, Houston, Texas I'm so sick of you trying to break and kill my grandmother! Who in the world punishes an 82 year old woman for having no choice but to see another pain management doctor back in 2017 when the entire city of Houston was in a STATE OF EMERGENCY and her home was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey leaving it unliveable?! They are now, two years after the fact and despite us notifying ALL the proper people needed & had it approved y'all are now saying she can no longer receive her medicine and kicked her out! She is 82 years old with a history of a fractured back, brittle bones, along with almost NO bone density! She suffers extreme pain and now she's losing her meds and her doctor. This pain can kill her! I'm so upset and have no idea what to do. Houston was in a state of emergency, she was homeless, her car was destroyed and they expected her to find way to stay in Houston... she came to Longview to see my doctor pain management for 4 months which her previous doctor WAS notified and APPROVED and the ONLY medication he EVER prescribed her was exactly what she was given at Innova! Now they are using that against her?! Wtf! I smell a cover up because someone did something obviously to piss the DEA off! Oh yes, I am tagging this doctor and address because this is unfounded & ridiculous?! Show me your proof because I have a stack of evidence of my own! Tell me how a disabled 82 year old women who is in so much pain that she never left her bed is on heroin?! Did anyone run blood tests to CONFIRM these "results"? No, not to mention you and your "lab" you send your blood and urine to has a history of false negatives and false positives! Hmmm?! What about run a hair sample which they know damn well WILL EXCLUDE her? No? Check her for track marks? No? Do ANYTHING to confirm these so called results?! NOPE!! And two freaking years later??? Give me a break! Ummm she is drug tested monthly so NONE of this makes sense! She may be 82 but she has family that will do ANYTHING to throw Innova Pain Center under the bus for this disgusting lie & fight to she is treated justly with respect and integrity! This place is actively trying to get rid of patients just to meet a quota to please the DEA, so it is now my goal thanks to the internet to make sure every patient of theirs knows the dirty lies and tricks they are playing to get rid of patients. I was referred to Innova Pain Center by my neurosurgeon for a specific procedure. Unfortunately, I was seen by Dr. Mian. This doctor did not review past medical history or listen to my actual complaints. He heard one key phrase, decided to diagnose me with something else, and set a different care plan. He made it sound similar to what my neurosurgeon wanted, so I went with it. After the first of a two-part procedure, I was sick enough that I was unable to take my pain medication, and received no relief from the procedure. 11 days later, I'm still waiting to hear back from the doctor - but his receptionist assured me with a canned response that if the first procedure worked, I should come in for the second one - when I reiterated that they did not, I was instructed to make an appointment and he would listen to my concerns at that time. I'm fairly new to chronic pain. Being unable to take pain medication because of constant nausea is not a side effect I expected from the procedure I had - and I certainly didn't expect it to be ignored by this establishment or this doctor. read more

Overall, very impressed with Dr. Mian and the staff. Assistants are always super friendly and talkative. Dr. Mian listens to me and really understands my back issues. Will say I don't love the Astoria location. While it is very nice and new looking, it is typically crowded and sometimes runs behind. However, Dr. Mian is very efficient and tries to keep things moving as quickly as possible. I'd recommend Dr. Mian to anyone. read more

Very quick service and results. Didn't spend more than an hour there and had an answer for some wrist pain. Would highly recommend for any pain, mild to severe, and the medication given worked within 2 days. read more

I had an appointment for 10AM, too bad no one bothered to inform me the place for Botox is in a DIFFERENT CITY than the office/patient center that made the appointment and where I saw the doctor before. I was very upset as I knew I would not make my appointment in time. Then a driver rammed my 22 year old classic (never before had an accident) Nissan and DESTROYED my car. I got to wait for police approximately 45 minutes and then 2 hours for a tow truck. Guess what, I did not make my appointment that I waited weeks for. What are these (way too busy to wait on patients) doctors and employees doing that not one of them could bother to inform me about the different office in a different city for my procedure? Do not go here if you have an alternative, the doctor is absolutely too busy to actually pay attention to his patients. You are merely a number and more importantly a very large check for him. Way too much money for the BS these people are dishing out. Stay away for your own peace of mind and sanity. The doctor also prescribed non-pain medication that does not mix with what I already take, (yes he had the list) thank God I bothered to read what the new medicine could do to me before I took it. read more

I went here this week for the first time and had a great experience. The doctor was in the room with me within minutes, sat and listened, did his thing with poking around and making me walk, laid out the treatment plan, and I was out of there. Office sent prescription to pharmacy and the next day I woke up feeling better than I have in years! Today is day #2 of waking up and being able to stand up straight without moans or groans! Just called them because my insurance isn't wanting to cover one of the prescriptions and phone was answered promptly and I am definitely pleased with everything so far! My impression up until now is that this is one of the best medical practices in the Houston area. Yes, there are a lot of young girls in the office but everything has run smoothly for me so far and I am feeling better than I have in years! read more

Dr. Hamid has been my pain management doctor for almost five years. He genuinely does listen without making me feel rushed and offered a treatment plan that was in accordance with my lifestyle at work, home and in leisure. I attempted to switch doctors due to my location, however, none compares to what is offered with his knowledge, compassion and character, so it is worth the 45 minute drive into town. To keep this post honest, sometimes the phone may go unanswered and you may have to leave a message however, Jennifer, the front desk coordinator always makes sure she returns my calls and accommodates me the best she can.
