Athletico has been the only facility I have been to that provides hands on therapy with your physical therapist at every visit. Faina Goldin has been my PT for several years, and she has helped me with my knees, neck, shoulders and more. She is not only a great therapist, she also is very caring with every patient she sees, is personally invested in their recovery, and is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure they heal and return to their normal routines. Every person at this practice works in the same way, from the moment you walk in the door you know they will take care of everything from insurance, scheduling, assisting you and explaining everything you need to know and to do. I highly recommend this clinic, and everybody there (Faina, Ashley, Kevin, Shelly, Matt and everybody else there). The entire staff provides knowledgeable care, working with patients to find out how to make them stronger and fully rehabilitated. They had a very convenient schedule, which I took full advantage of, with some morning appts and some afternoon. Also they allow you to pay a nominal fee to use their facility like a gym, which I did for awhile after my treatment. You will not regret going to this clinic for any physical therapy.

I used the Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT) location at 1235 S Center Rd in Burton, MI, from late…read moreFebruary until April 2018. My experience with them has not been good. This was my first experience with any physical therapy so I wasn't sure at first, but I just didn't feel I was progressing as much as I should have been. After those few weeks there, I left them and went to a new physical therapy facility, where I learned just how unhelpful DPT's work with me had been. I thought that was the end of my dealings with them. However, they recently (May 2019), sent me a bill stating I still owe them $443! I had not heard a word from them since I made what they said was my last copay payment in June 2018. By that time, I'd paid them a total of $570, which they told me covered all of my copayments and co-insurance. Since receiving this new bill, I've spent quite a bit of time on the phone with my insurance company and DPT's billing department at their main office in Illinois. They even wound up talking with each other while I was on the line. The final verdict is that the physical therapist I saw at DPT was not in my insurance's network until October 2018 - my last appt with her was 6 months before that in April 2018!! So what DPT had been telling me were copays were just their full prices, from what I understand. My insurance company told me they did not cover them, despite the fact that I was told by DPT the entire time I was their patient that my insurance was covering my visits - and even made to wait for appts "until further insurance authorizations" came through a couple of times. I feel completely lied to and swindled by this place. My advice: STAY AWAY!!! Go to a physical therapist who won't lie to get extra money out of you, while not correctly treating your problems. According to their billing department, I do owe this $443, it just "took them several months to figure it out." My options are to pay it or have it sent to collections...where it will show up against me on my credit report, which I've worked hard to bring up these past few years. Based on my experience with this company, I truly consider them to be cheats who take advantage of patients with little knowledge about physical therapy and billing with the insurance. This has been a very expensive lesson for me to learn to be less naive and trusting of what a medical facility says. From now on I'll know to double check with my insurance company every step of the way for any medical treatments.

In Nov 2025 when I received a large bill, I learned a referral was never received in June however, they proceeded to allow the scheduling of 3 more visits. Now I have a large balance to pay. Patients be very wary of this office. I would HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere.
