I called ADvanced about a broken drive belt on my riding mower in July. Ryan , the owner came to my home the same day to look at my mower and told me the belt was broken and would make an appointment for someone to come out to fix it. I was charged 160 dollars ,cash only, for the service call, but was told it would be put toward repair bill. the next day they called and told they wouldschedule my repair for August 15. in August I called and was told it would be September but they would fit me in if they had a cancellation. that was the last i heard from them. no repair, no phone call, no credit for the service fee. i would not reccomend them.​ read more

A word of warning- We hired them to fix our lawn mower, based on lots of positive reviews on Google Maps. The person who came to the house was ill-prepared (1 toolbox with a single rachet set- no oil, no gas, nothing). The mower still wouldn't start even after the repair person left so we followed up, got a bit of a run around, and then finally told them we were taking our business elsewhere. Over a month ago we contacted Ryan to fix our snowblower. It cost us $200 (in cash only) which included him picking it up. Upon return I checked it out and the auger would still not work (though guaranteed). He promised several times to come and look at it- but promises don't mean much if you don't keep them. Description:Update: I took my mower to Trevor True Value. Less than an hour after I dropped it off it was completely fixed! I verified with the True Value mechanic that anyone who says they work on small engines should be able to diagnose and fix this easily. The guy at Advanced Small Engine is a crook, liar, and shyster. He said my mower wasn't fixable and I needed to buy a brand new one. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Do the right thing and take it to Trevor True Value where mine was fixed for less than $75. Advanced Small Engine: I left my mower with you on May 11th at you "moms house" which is less than a mile from my house. It was running but going up hills it started smoking. You said it was the oil and gas mixing and that you would clean/blow out the gas and oil lines and the carburetor. You said you would have it back to me in a few hours that same day. You don't answer my texts from a week later asking to pick up my mower. I finally hear from you that I can pick it up on May 19th. I am unable to pick it up until May 22nd and you have now taken it to a house in Silvis so I have to drive 2 towns over to get it now. You have left it outside, not locked up in several severe rain storms, you tell me the filter is off so I can see where the oil is coming out from. You also tell me to leave $40 for your service in the grill. This is all very shady. I brought the mower home and it won't start. You tell me that if I had read my texts I would have known that it wasn't working. In none of the text or calls did you say it wasn't working until I called you. Had my snowblower worked on. The engine was surging when the choke was in and pulley rope broke. Well, I expressed I wasn't happy with the pulley and he became very angry. Sent me a 25 second long video swearing at me like he wanted to fight. Used another number and pretended he was the Moline police department. Saying I was harassing him when he was threatening me. He didn't understand the issue and offered to put 15 ft of rope on. I tried nicely to explain that's not the issue. My snowblower use to start in one pull. Now the pulley system is to small and has a hard time turning the engine over to run. He said he was going to just show up at my house to add rope so I'd stop texting him. He have me the snowblower with this little handle than dangled past the handle holder in the frame. Plus, the rope doesn't retract correctly. This guy has anger issues.
