As she mentioned he was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and had outstanding bedside manner. He took the time to listen, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand during the exam and made me feel completely at ease. What stood out most was the flexibility and thoughtfulness in discussing treatment options and next steps--I never felt rushed and truly felt included in the decision-making process. It's rare to find a provider who combines expertise with genuine compassion. I'm very grateful for such a positive first visit and would highly recommend this practice. Everyone from the front desk personnel, his administrative staff, the x-ray technician, then his shadowing residents x2 were great. I visited the 20th st location but will visit Georgetown due to ease of transport.

Dear GT Medstar Medical Team,…read more My name is Sheila Westerfield and I was an in-patient at your hospital from October 25 through October 30, 2024. I must apologize because this email thank you is a very long time coming, however, I have been working on my recovery and PT. I wanted to thank each of you for your amazing care both medically, physically and emotionally as your team and you guided me through my recovery period at the hospital during my stay. From the excellent medical care and advice that was given to me both pre op hip replacement surgery to post op surgery, Dr. Park, I must say you are the BEST! I am so grateful that you are and were my surgeon involved in my care from the day I came to you for consultation, during and after my surgery and your excellent follow up and care! Your attentiveness to my requests and care will always be appreciated with deep gratitude. You also possess an amazing beside manner. I grew up in a family of physicians from my grandfather, uncle and brother -- so I am quite familiar with the quality of care that can be given to a patient -- not just medically, but the overall support emotionally that makes an outstanding doctor like yourself stand out from the rest. Thank you! Secondly and not really secondly, the amazing care that I received from the nursing staff, your staff, Dr. Park -- your resident, the physical therapists, nurse techs, the client care experience staff and down to the young man who cleaned my room twice a day and the food services staff, I remain extremely grateful. The quality of care and attention and kindness and compassion of all of the staff mentioned above (the names are listed below) -- I hope that I didn't leave anyone out, please know how fabulous you all are and I am grateful that you chose the medical profession because you are exactly where you belong. You all have huge hearts and exude patience and devotion to the career you chose. It is my hope that the director's of GT Medstar and your immediate supervisors and managers will have the opportunity to see this email. Because I don't have access to their emails, I am hopeful that this email will be forwarded to each -- from the president/ceo at GT, the head of the surgical orthopedics department, the head of nursing and patient experience department, director of physical therapy, food services and the janitorial department. I am healing quickly -- walking sometimes without a cane and having no difficulty navigating my 14 steps (LOL). All of this is due to the excellent care that each of you provided me and your encouragement each step of the way. The qualities that each of you possess are those that each person who has to undergo surgery or just a stay at the hospital prays for!!!! I know for certain as I am a praying "gal" who when my eyes open I am prayerful and thankful and before they close my prayers and gratefulness are repeated to my God -- and, what I can say is that HE answered my prayers, for TRUE!!!!! I wish each of you all of the BLESSINGS that God has in store for each of you and your families. I know that each day that you come to work, you are BLESSING yet many more patients! Thank you again. I will continue to keep each of you close to my heart and in my prayers. Tomorrow, my plan is to post this on Google!!!!!!! Blessings. With much thanks, Sheila H. I have had two appointments with Dr. Antoniades, and that will be the extent of my time with him…read more My experience was below horrific with him. I came to him with chronic lower back pain that is likely caused by a bruised/ruptured lower disc in my spine, having now been in an extreme amount of pain for 2-3 weeks. He was completely dismissive of the amount of pain I am in due to my back issues, and would not discuss any kind of immediate pain management, arguing with me that if the current medicine he gave me isn't working, what else would I like to try? I'm the patient!!! I do not know what to do, that's why I came to him! He kept asking me what I wanted to do about my condition. If I knew that, I would also be a doctor and wouldn't need him. But, seeing as I'm not, I was relying on him, a supposed professional, to provide me help, which he did not. He was condescending to me when asking questions about my pain, and telling me I shouldn't be in as much pain as I am in. When asked to show him the pain, I told him I couldn't physically draw the line of sensation because I couldn't bend down to trace it down my leg into my feet. He just kept saying please try... please try to what? All of a sudden not have excruciating pain anymore? Eventually he got a "poker" to use to draw down my leg, which was a Stanley hardware level. Why the hell does he use a Stanley level as a medical device??? After all this, he just referred me to a pain management specialist which was on a list of doctors noted for dealing with pain medicine addiction. So, after all this, it was clear he thought of me as a person simply seeking pain medicine as a junkie, not as a real person who is living in excruciating back pain due to a possible spinal disc rupture. He wouldn't discuss anything else because he was bias against me. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Additionally, the front staff misplaced my insurance information and may have put someone else's insurance card info as mine. That is extremely concerning due to the amount of PII they process every day.

If you value accuracy in your medical record/history DO NOT GO HERE. This is for the Severna Park…read morelocation. My story below but the TL;DR is that they sent me a discharge letter, indicating that it was because I used an illegal drug (which I don't use) and then practically refused to correct it even though they admitted the error after reviewing my urine screen. I get sent this letter and immediately ask to see my drug test results. After getting jerked around by the call center for 6 days (first saying yes they can email me my urine sample/oops no they can't) I finally had to drive to the office and get my screen myself, which showed I tested NEGATIVE for said substance. They then made me wait 2.5 hours to see the doctor so I could get this corrected and he said he couldn't do that right then because the admin was gone, but she'd 'do it tomorrow'. "Tomorrow" turned into 3 weeks, a visit to another local office, a threat (which I made good on) to report them to the Board of Medicine and daily calls to finally get the medical administrators attention to this matter. Then the doc first tried to say I was given my corrected letter, then said the final letter actually IS the correct letter. On the day that would've been my med refill day, they finally gave me the letter they owed me. When first given the incorrect letter, I immediately started looking for a new clinic but no one would touch me with an illegal drug on my record (all clinics ask for new patient's discharge letters), so I needed that updated letter to be considered to be seen elsewhere to ensure continuity of care and avoid withdrawals. To add insult to injury, even though ASAP admitted this was their error, they won't give me one last refill of my meds to get me through getting a new patient appointment elsewhere and that I can 'go to the ER' if I experience withdrawals. Right before an important work trip, thanks guys. I was given my new letter on Thursday, I have Friday and then I'm out of state for a work trip for a week. Real lovely.

I didn't WANT to make the long trip out to Annandale after an agonizing workday…read more.. But it was worth the drive. After years of condescending doctors looking down their noses while chucking multitudes of medicines at me for my low back and sciatic pain , I was nearly at my wit's end. However, the moment Dr. Gorsen walked into the evaluation room to greet me, I felt like someone was finally in my corner. He had a jovial tone (although he took me seriously), read my chart thoroughly, reviewed my MRI's extensively, let me speak without cutting me off, actually LISTENED, and fully processed what I had to say before responding. I can tell when a doctor enjoys his work by his bedside manner, and this doctor has a stellar one. While he's extremely busy (engaged in various side projects, inventions, and work with sports injury patients), Dr. Gorsen still took his time with me, didn't make me feel rushed, did make me feel comfortable, and managed to quickly devise and explain to me several prospective lines of attack to get to the root of my suffering. He patiently conveyed what I didn't understand in lay terms, and even offered an interim solution between now and the next time I would follow up with him - going back and forth several times to his supply room, working with me to find just the right sized back brace, and educating me on how to use it. If a guy this busy can manage to have a good humor, patience, and sympathy for his patients, the rest of you cocky doctors with atrocious people skills running patient mills should be ashamed. Additionally, the staff was pleasant, the office wasn't crowded with over-booked patients, and I've definitely had longer waits. Because of Dr. Gorsen, for the first time in three years, the light at my tunnel's end doesn't just seem like a freight train. He may or may not be able to help see me back to restored health; but at the very least, he HAS offered two very important things to me which no other doctor has bothered to even attempt thus far - and those are sincerity and hope. He has accrued an array of accolades over the years, and I can see why. I would recommend this neurosurgeon to anyone - near or far.

I have been an eyewitness to how rude and unprofessional the front office staff is when it comes to dealing with patients. The front office staff are always available to check messages on their cell phone (kept on in their workspace) and gossip by the printer when there are people waiting to check in at the window. The front office staff in this office is the most uncaring, self-absorbed, unempathetic, rude ensemble of people I have experienced in a medical setting. When I see this, I have to put some blame on the management. When my girlfriend complained about no one ever answering the phone and the attitude of the front office staff, the Office Manager (Jasmine, but she wants you to call her "J") just blew her off. Jasmine stated that there is always someone at the window (no, there's not - they are not at the check in window if they have their backs turned to you and gossiping back by the printer/copier). So, my advice after what I witnessed my girlfriend go through . . . DO NOT GO TO THIS PAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICE IN GLEN BURNIE IN CRAIN TOWERS. Take your recovery and health seriously.
