I first gave a good rating but now I am taking it back. They kept cancelling my appointments so I went somewhere else. They made me flipper when they removed my Marilyn bridge and it did not fit not even close and now I have a big hole showing when I smile. This is a big practice with multiple dentists. Based on that, I expected to be able to get into the office for an appointment soon. Instead I waited 20 minutes on hold to speak to someone and then was routed to leave a message. This is one of the few DDS offices that take my insurance, but they should be kicked out of the insurance pool. I scheduled an appointment with Advantage Dental back in April, and after waiting months for confirmation, I was told they couldn't give me a final answer until a week before my appointment. Now, just days before I was finally supposed to be seen, they called to cancel -- saying they don't take my insurance. This is extremely frustrating and feels like a complete waste of time. I was never told clearly or early enough that my insurance might not be accepted, and now I'm being referred elsewhere, where I'll likely face another months-long wait. I did everything right -- I reached out, followed up, waited -- and still ended up with nothing. If you're considering Advantage Dental, please be aware that communication and insurance transparency seem to be serious issues. They should post that they don't have capacity for new patients. Good luck using them. I intended to try them because my former dentist is no longer in-network with my insurance. But what good is a network provider if i can't use my dental benefit because I can't get an appointment. Initial appointment booked 7 weeks out which seemed reasonable. Then 10 days before the appointment got this voicemail that they are canceling my appointment. I called and I was offered the earliest next appointment that is 2 months from now. Also, this is only an initial exam. I have to go to an initial exam before they will schedule a cleaning exam. At this rate, that will be November or December. I'm going back to my out-of-network provider Dr McCleery and I'll just pay the difference. read more

Absolute WORST!!!! If you have any other options, and I mean ANY other options you should explore those options first. The receptionist on the phone is outride rude and has no business in customer service whatsoever! I called to make an appointment for my partner as I help to manage his healthcare. This is not an unusual situation. I know of several people that have one person in the household in charge of managing appointments, paperwork etc. So I was completely shocked when I called and said I needed to make an appointment for my partner and I was asked (and in a really bitchy tone I might add), "Why isn't he calling?" When I asked her what she meant by that, and why she was asking, she replied in an equally bitchy tone, "well I'm just wondering why you are calling and he's not calling to make an appointment for himself?" What business is that of yours?!?!? The one time he actually went into the office with a dental emergency they were so incredibly rude and basically refused to help. He was/is having severe issues with several teeth. They refused to even look inside his mouth without him picking one, just ONE tooth to look at. But it's multiple teeth. And they are all connected. So how about looking inside the mouth to see what you can see and then decide a course of action from there. How is someone supposed to pick between several teeth that are in pain, loose and falling out?!?! The answer is you don't. Your DENTIST looks at them and decides what is most pressing and makes suggestions and plans for how to address the situation. What a joke of an establishment! This place should be investigated and likely closed down from the obvious lack of care and help providing the basic services of a dentist! Sending people away when they are in desperate need of help. Was promised a non-traumatic experience, having dealt with abusive and exceedingly painful dental work earlier in life. I had a tooth removed by cutting it into several pieces, and some of my jaw bone as well. I was given a 1.5 day supply of pain meds, which was great for 1.5 days. Now I'm absolutely suffering. I called to see what they could do to help, as I cannot continue to take massive doses of OTC ibuprofen and acetaminophen. I have ulcers and simply vomit them back up. Arrogant dentist (not the nice guy who actually performed my procedure) essentially said "too bad." After previous childhood dental trauma it's taken me literally 40 years to be willing/able to visit a dentist. Now I'm back to square one. This will be the last time I visit this office, or any office for that matter. They lied to get me in and assured me a comfortable recovery. Lies. Arrogance. Unwillingness to actually listen. I'm not writing this to get anything out of them. I don't wish to be contacted by them. There is no "smoothing this over." I write this as a simple warning to others. Your pain means nothing to them. First things first, I called for several weeks and left several messages and never got a single answer. Finally, I had to call up OHP and have them email this office and only then did I get a response. They scheduled an appointment and didn't send me an email, so I was late. I called early, several times, to confirm the time- if you think they would answer, you would be wrong. This completely flustered the staff, which I understand, but I didn't appreciate the vibe in general here. I don't know if their pay, benefits, or treatment is below standard here in Bend, but all signs point towards it. The person who did my assessment was curt and brusque the entire time, and even said the classic phrase "nobody wants to work anymore" which is a bit of a red flag for me. If you have trouble keeping staff, then you should probably work to resolve that with how you treat people, how you compensate them, etc. So after my horrible and very uncomfortable appointment was finished, I went to scheduling the actual work that needed to be done: wisdom tooth extraction, fillings, and a cleaning. I kid you not, my appointments were made in January for February, April, and November. That is absolutely ridiculous to me. A month down the line, when my February extraction appointment came closer, they contacted me and told me I had to reschedule because the surgeon quit. One can only wonder why that happened- funny. Basically told me that if it's life or death they could maybe do a virtual appointment. How do you do a virtual dental appointment?!? The filling they put in broke, almost got a tooth that didn't need to be extracted pulled, and the worst dental assistant of all time. Absolutely the worst medical experience ever. I went in three times for a cracked molar. Two out of the three times I was blessed to be helped by a dental assistant who was having a bad day, both days. Just a real piece of work this one. Has a tattoo on her hand of a feather, just incase the owner reads this. The second time I saw her she handed me a form to sign for a tooth extraction, asking me to sign off on things that did not happen yet such as "your Dr has giving you the alternatives to a tooth extraction", " tooth extraction may cause other teeth to be damaged", I didn't even speak to the Dr at this point. I asked why I need to sign this and with a lovely attitude she responded " most of that does not apply to you anyway". How incredible unprofessional is that? Not to mention violation of HIPPA. She was basically asking me to sign off on a tooth extraction that was never discussed and at this point I did not speak to the Dr. She stormed off and a new assistant came in. Next, The dentist almost pulled my tooth without exploring other options. He first told me there was not a lot he could do. Then he said he needed to pull the tooth. Then, after I asked multiple times if there was any chance my tooth was savable, He said based on the trajectory of the crack that it was doubtful, but he could numb me and check by removing the broken piece of tooth.. I had to push for this. He wanted to pull my tooth. My mind at this point is boggled because why wouldn't you try to save the tooth first before extracting? Long story short I was right and the tooth was savable. If I didn't speak up for myself he would have pulled my tooth. The filling he put in broke off within two days. I'm not shocked to see all of the other bad reviews in here. One of them mentioned another place that takes OHP. I'm going there tomorrow to fix the butchery done to my molar. Lastly, the manager came up to ask me about what happened with the assistant from earlier. She basically justified her employees abrasive actions because "they are all over worked and sometimes respond in a way they shouldn't." Hey, I work in the medical industry and I get it. I am overwhelmed and not once did I get nasty with them. Don't be a victim of the times and blame your poor customer service on it. Take responsibility and be a good person. Terrible leadership skills. Trying to gain pity from the customer by deflecting. Did not work on me. And her resting smerk face she made while giving me excuses told me she knew I wasn't buying it. I do not enjoy writing bad reviews but people need to know how terrible this place is. Major changes are needed for this establishment. I have been going to this dentist for years now. They do poor rushed work while you're there and do not consider your financial status while making your dental plan - that being if you can even get ahold of them. I have left several voicemails (during business hours and on different days) trying to schedule an appointment for extreme tooth pain across my mouth, I can hardly eat a banana or cheese pizza because it hurts so bad. Bad customer service and professionalism is an understatement. I came in to have all my teeth extracted and given dentures. From the moment the doctor can in he was rude and angry. Telling me not to yell and and just keep quite when I wasn't even talking or moving around. When he got to my back molar he pulled my head back and forth, at which point I tried to grip the chair to hold on. At that time he yelled for me to sit still as if I was a child. I had a broken tooth removed and a crown put on another tooth which had a root canal elsewhere. The removal went as smooth as I could have hoped. I was treated extremely well by the staff and the front desk. Everyone was helpful and understanding. My dentist did a great job removing a tooth that was causing me extreme pain. Terrible service. My husband a cavity under an older crown. He first talked to the dentist about it in December 2016. The first appointment they had was in May 2017 (!?), but he took the appointment anyway. When he got there they told him they didn't schedule enough time, so he'd have to come back at the end of June. (again !?) In the meantime his tooth began to hurt so he called to see if they had an earlier appointment. He just got back from that appointment as was told, you guessed it, they told him they didn't schedule enough time, so he'd have to come back at the end of September!!! This is an outrage. I do not see how this office is still allowed to exist. I wish I had looked up the reviews on Yelp before ever going there. Sorry that I had to give this place "1" star......there was not a "0" star option. These folks have the worst customer service of any dentist I have been to in Bend (Lived here 25 years and have been to about 5 dentists). They cancel appointments that have been on the books for 2 months with no recourse to make a reasonable re-schedule......yes they wanted me to wait another month when it was their fault......their remedy is to "call us in the morning to see if someone canceled". It felt like they did everything in their power to not accommodate my appointments / schedule or dental work. My insurance only allowed me to use this particular dentist, I have since gone to cash pay and sought out other more professional dentistry. My new dentist shook their head when I told them where I went. My new dentist said that getting X-rays transferred from Advantage Dental would be very difficult. Guess these guys have a reputation of not playing well with others. I feel sorry for folks who only have this one place to use. I found no "Advantage" to going to Advantage Dental Bend. Do you read your ratings Advantage Dental? Because you people obviously need some improvement. I can add that customer service on the phone and in person is horrible. Particularly Heather and Kelly. Mixed up appointments, cancellations and refusing to make appointment for a broken tooth until I had an exam with X-rays. Heather refused to make me an emergency appointment saying that " they are not dentists and can't do treatment plans" which made no sense.I was expected to wait a month to be seen. I hung up and called back to ask for an emergency appointment. Kelly hung up on me! I was not a disconnect, she just hung up! I called corporate and got an appointment in two days after complaining about the service. There were more mix ups with dentist and what type of crown I was supposed to get. It takes months to get appointments and when you finally do get it, there is no saying they won't cancel your appointment the day of and tell you to wait another few months. In pain? Too bad. I am not very happy. I went in monday 5/15/17 to get 3 wisdom teeth pulled and dr chang was rude. He numbed me about 10 times and i still felt him pulling my wisdom teeth like i was never numb. It is extremely difficult to get an appointment here in a timely manner. Many times when I have had one, they have postponed it (a couple of months each time) . My six month cleaning got pushed back to the year mark so now my teeth haven't been cleaned in over a year and I need to have a new exam and Xrays before they will do it. Most of the office staff is incompetent and they have rapid turnover. It took so long to get in to get a filling that I ended up losing the entire tooth. When it was hurting and I needed to get in urgently, they said they don't have emergency appointments available. All you can do is call every day in the hope that someone canceled. I went here originally because they give a discount for paying cash and my employer does not provide dental insurance. When I left the office today, I told them they don't care about their clients' dental health. They said they do but that's just not true. I have never received such bad care from any type of health care provider before and it is truly upsetting. I'm happy to be taking my cash business to a more reputable clinic. read more
