We first started using Advantage Pest Management almost four years ago when we moved to Denver. We rent a sad little duplex that can only be described as a crap-box. When we first moved in, we had a spider infestation and hornets that dive-bombed us every time we tried to walk in the front door. We tried home solutions, but nothing worked, so we hired Jim. He fixed the problem without any trouble and in the four years since then has helped us get rid of: the mouse hotel that popped up under our dishwasher; hornets that live in the roof; hornets that live in the sand; microscopic clover mites that poured through our back door and window in an unstoppable a bright red, squirming tide; and wolf spiders. His prices are very reasonable, he is always prompt and reliable. As a very small female in my 20's, I also feel totally safe having Jim come spray the house when I am home alone, which is rare for me. He is even really good with the dog. We've had various companies come through and spray around our house. Many of which want to put you on their "program" - meaning we want to spray every 6 weeks. Early spring we had a weird mite infestation around a basement window that doesn't seal all that well. Boom, nothing left, nada. One time through and the problem was completely solved. I live in an older house that has done some settling and we noticed some spiders throughout the house. We have a family member that is immune compromised and don't want to chance a spider bite. So I called Jim again. He scheduled about a week later for 11:00am. Jim showed up 11:00am. Jim asked questions about what types of insects we've seen and where. He discussed what he was going to do and asked if I wanted additional coverage in a couple of places on the interior. He even explained the concentration he was using and how that compares to various products and competitors. He took my card and got everything taken care of in about 20 minutes. Since I had used them previously I was charged $95. It's $125 for a one time spray. I appreciate that repeat business is rewarded without having to be on a every six week program. I'm not expecting to see Jim again until spring unless we have a long warm fall with a late winter (in which case I'll gladly have him back). Working with a local business owner is a huge plus. Jim really does deserve the 5 stars. I had a sudden silverfish infestation appear in my home while I was on quarterly treatments from another Denver company. For 9 months, that company was coming out every 2 weeks to retreat my house, saying each time "that should fix it the problem." It never worked. I finally called Jim based on these Yelp reviews. He wasn't overconfident that he could fix my issue, but he gave me a great price to at least try. The 1st treatment he did eliminated the majority of the silverfish. We're pretty sure the issue is a foundation crack or a leak I can't find, but regardless, his treatments have been so effective. What was one an infestation is now a situation only requiring quarterly treatments (if needed). Jim is so easy to work with, super reasonable in price, honest, and effective. read more

Jim saved my day-- and sanity!!!! He was able to come over the same day I called to inspect for bed bugs that my Airbnb guest claimed to have found. Turns out it was just a tiny carpet beetle that might have caused a skin irritation. Jim was thorough with his visual inspection, as well as explaining an extensive knowledge of the pests! Not impressed at all. Jim and I specifically discussed the fact that the service was for a rental property, and that he was NOT supposed to charge the tenants for the work. Afterwards, I heard from the tenants that "he would not leave without payment." The tenants were also not impressed with the work performed--I have not seen it myself, so I must take their word. I used Advantage based on the positive yelp reviews and the fact that someone (which I now know is an answering service) actually answered the phone, unlike the others that I called first. Next time, I would leave a message with someone else and wait for them to call me back. On the plus side, the cost came in below the quote that he gave me over the phone. read more

I have over 15 years of property management experience and have used MANY MANY MANY pest management companies. I have not found a more relaiable, ontime, excellent service. Jim the owner always takes care of me. If I call and leave a voice mail he usually returns it same day if not the next day. I have had him take care of some really bad bed bug infestations and roach issues. I sent an email a couple weeks ago to their website requesting what was their availability. After I sent the email I got a phone call from them which was nice. I set up an appointment to see an exterminator the following week. After waiting for a week and a half and taking the morning off work to see the technician they NEVER showed up. Not only did they not show up they DID NOT call or email me. If you value your time please stay away. They may be good at exterminating pests but its all useless if they don't show up and waste your time. read more

I put in an email request for Advantage after seeing the great reviews here on Yelp, Jim called immediately and addressed all of my concerns including relieving any fear of dangers to me (being pregnant) and to my pets. He was able to come out later the same day and take a look at the infestation and recommend what he felt was the best course of treatment, for about 60% of the cost of what I was quoted by another company. He also took a lot of time to answer many many questions which was very helpful. We scheduled for treatment a few days later, and Matt came out--he was friendly and knowledgeable like Jim. Our apartment was left in great condition by him and although I'm not sure the problem is fully resolved yet, I know we're on our way thanks to Advantage. Highly recommend. read more

OMG. Seriously. OMG. I came home Friday after working and noticed, hiding away like the little aholes they are, wasps building a hive on my house. I am allergic to stinging insects so I, of course, immediately screamed and ran back into my house and started searching for someone to come take care of this for me. I originally called a place that I had used in the spring to spray for bugs, and left a voicemail (which I have not heard back from) and decided I needed this taken care of right away. On a Friday at 5pm. I searched trusty Yelp and found Advantage Pest Management, and they were open for another hour!! I called them up, and the lady who took my information, as I was almost in tears, was really helpful and perky. Super helpful! After being under attack from yellow jackets and after one vet visit later, I needed to get this situation under control. Made an appt with one of the "big companies" but they couldn't get out to help for 2 days and $200. Used "thumbtack" website to acquire quotes to see if anyone could help sooner (since I couldn't let my dogs out), I heard back from Jim in 5 minutes. We have a garden level rental property that seems to get small bugs and spiders during the summer time and it was time to get the unit sprayed before our next tenants moved in. We had a one day time-frame to get this done and my husband and I were going to be out of town that day. I called Jim and he was very responsive and accommodating. He was able to enter our unit with a key we left for him, complete the job, and get paid, without us being there. We had a friend use him in the past so we trusted he would do what we were paying him to do. Since that, we have used him at our personal residence for rodent control. My husband and I just bought our first home and needed a general spider/bug spray to prevent critters from getting in as we go into the cold/wet months. This past spring we were having issues with carpenter ants on our fence and front porch. My phone call was answered by a person and i didn't have to speak with a machine. We found a small wasps nest in a patio umbrella that hadn't been opened in a while, which meant half our patio was pretty much out of use. Despite the small size of the nest, we didn't want to attempt clearing it ourselves, so we called Advantage Pest Management. Jim got back to me within an hour, and fit us in for the next morning.
