I read a lot of reviews that really trashed Advantage, so I was very hesitant about renting from them. They had a great deal for a recent trip, and considering it was so short, I figured I had nothing to lose. The staff at pickup and return were very friendly. I was given an inspection sheet and told that if there were no issues, I was welcome to head out, but if there was something, to mark it and return in. My car was clean and everything looked good, so I was off in my Hyundai Elantra (nice, clean, and fancy). I forgot a car charger, so i enjoyed that it had a USB input and Apple Carplay was a nice feature to have. I didn't notice until day 2 that there was a stain on the back seat (coffee?). I'd settle it when I dropped it off. I dropped off my car, about 15 minutes after the "due time" (had to get gas), parked it, and checked out. Informed the woman at the counter about the stain, she said "no problem." I also inquired about a toll I got stuck with. I had declined the Advantage Toll Pass (whatever it's called), and I (like an idiot) forgot that 417 was a toll road. Of course, Florida has ZERO manned toll booths, and I don't carry around rolls of quarters. There's no option for CC payments, so I had no choice but to go through it. I had my Epass transponder, but I don't think it will work and I didn't register my plate beforehand. The woman said I will get charged the $1 plus a $25 admin fee. OUCH! Regardless, that's not Advantage's fault. It's my fault for either/or declining the pass, forgetting to set up my Epass, or forgetting to carry quarters. Either way, I had a good experience with Advantage and would rent with them again. I'll take the backroads next time. Will update if I get burned on this toll thing, but I doubt I will. read more

This is the worst rental car experience of my life and I have rented several in my life. I show up to the Miami Rental Car Center in Miami and despite renting with a credit card, because I am a Miami resident, they request our light bill, which is already ridiculous as is - any rental car only requires a credit card and license. Then after we go through motions to get them the light bill because the reservation was under my name as opposed to the person whom the light bill was under, we had to add him as an additional driver ($14/day). Then they have the audacity to state that because we are locals, that the unlimited miles on Expedia did not apply so it would $20/day to have this unlimited mile service. Total rip off. Go to Hertz, Enterprise, or any major rental car company and save yourself the hassle. By the way ended up going to Hertz, got a car no problem but was billed a no-show fee from Advantage despite never renting the car. They suck, point blank. read more

Like previous reviews here I had the same experience with being charged for insurance after I repeatedly told the customer service representative that I will be using my own insurance. I even brought my proof of insurance with me on my trip to Orlando for this purpose. He prompted me quickly through initialing boxes on an electric pad and sent me off to my car with me thinking everything was fine. I get my receipt and I had been charged an extra $170.94. I called customer service to explain the problem and she just kept snapping at me about how I signed my initials for the insurance coverage provided by Advantage. Every time I tried to explain that I specifically told the customer service rep that I did not want the additional insurance, and that I was falsely charged for it, she just kept rudely telling me that I signed for it and there is nothing they will do about it. FACT: I recently made the mistake of renting a vehicle from the Advantage Orlando International Airport - 5601 Butler International Drive - location. FACT: While booking the reservation directly, I was assured by an Advantage reservation representative that " your own CDW and PIA and Liability" will be honored if you provide proof of same at counter check-in". FACT: I provided hard-copy printed documents showing coverages, and was advised that I needed to purchase Liability protection for a whopping $89.94. FACT: Shuttle van to off-airport Advantage location was not listed on ANY sign along the shuttle van series of concrete posts. FACT: I was - after one hour of waiting for an Advantage shuttle vehicle - advised that Advantage uses WallyPark vehicles only. NO ADVANTAGE LABELLING/STICKER/SIGNAGE APPEARED ON ANY WALLY PARK VEHICLE. FACT: Following a ninety-minute wait for the non-Advantage labelled shuttle van at MCO, I arrived at the 5601 Butler National Drive facility. FACT: A lengthy human line of at least 20 persons stretched out the door. FACT: ONLY THREE people were at the counter....while at least EIGHT people sat around a table in a closed meeting room across from the counter laughing. FACT: I requested to speak with a manager. A male identified himself as "Isaac" was rude, bored and disinterested in speaking with me. FACT: Advantage Car Rental Orlando is a scam organization that uses illegal bait and switch protocols. Advantage's online rental rates may entice you to reserve a vehicle...however you will face unexpected fees and upcharges at the counter. You may save money by renting from Advantage, but the problems I encountered negated any savings. 1) I rented from Priceline but I still had to present my credit card as a deposit for tolls or gasoline. Immediately after swiping my credit card at the Advantage desk, 4 transactions were posted from other rental car agencies in excess of $10,000. Over 2 months later, I'm still working with my credit card agency to address these fraudulent transactions. 2) Advantage gave me a different car than the one on my contract. This caused numerous phone calls from Advantage and also from the traffic toll collection agency. I may have saved $200 but the aggravation, resulting fraud, and time spent with call centers negated any benefit. read more

Renting from Advantage is a mixed bag, but in the end there were more pluses than minuses: Good: *New, very clean car that didn't smell funny *Cheap! Like 40% less than other places *Nice employees Bad: *Off site location means you have to wait for a shuttle, so budget an extra 15-30 min *They upsell HARD - gas, insurance, etc. The guy was nice, and wasn't trying to trick me, but he was really persistent. *As a direct result of the above, check in takes forever. Eons. Ages. Imagine, if you will, a rental car waiting area loaded with leisure travelers who don't understand the "present valid credit card/decline all bs addons/receive keys/move the fuck along" protocol. Imagine a 75 year old in white loafers, black socks and shorts debating endlessly with his wife as to if they should get prepay gas. Find a comfortable seat - you'll be here awhile. I chose this place b/c of the price. I didn't even look at the reviews until I was sitting in the office waiting to pick up my car. The reviews made me wary. Let's start from the airport. It took me a moment to find the shuttle to get to Advantage. I had to go down a level and it was a LOT of spots for various buses/shuttles/pick up cars. So I kept waking until I got to A# (can't remember which spot it was now). The shuttle was pulling away so I wave them down and got on. The driver had someone with him and we had a nice chat. They were about to go on break so I got lucky and got on before they had a 15 minute break. I was hoping that it was....not busy but when I got there, I saw 2 big families waiting and got a little concerned. A lady was waiting also so I asked her how long she's been waiting and she said about 30 mins. Sigh. I still had to go back and pick up my family at the airport so I was a bit concern about the waiting time. However, I really only waited about 15 mins. Not so bad. Once they started helping me, I was out of there within 5 mins. Getting out was a bit confusing. You drive up to the exit gate and there's a guy there that checks your car and marks down any damages. At first I was like, WTF? Why is this guy here? Oh. And then I realized that he was checking the car and I know this part! haha I jumped out and had a walk around the whole car and marked off any dings to make sure I won't get dinged on anything. :) Of course, reading the reviews had me concern that they were doing to over charge for everything so I had to make sure. The Return. I pulled up the the return and an attendant came out with his scanner device and scanned and did his thing. He took about... 15/20 mins. Gosh. I made sure to clean out the car and fill up the tank. I was still concern about any charges. It's been about 3 weeks now. I see the toll charges and there was a sign in the car that told me that would happen so I was expecting it. The actual rental charge was actually a dollar less than what I was quoted! I'm so glad that the reviews didn't scare me off or it not being onsite. I was about to cancel and find an on site car rental place but everything was at least 100$ more! That 100 I saved went towards gas money. :) I'm so glad that I went with this place. I'll probably use them again the next time I come here. Unless some other places has a better deal. :-D read more

A month after I rented a car for 3 days from here, I was charged (WITHOUT SEEING A BILL) 26 dollars to my credit card. I called and they said it's because I opted out of the transponder but still used it. I said no, I didn't, I kept that switch flipped off and only went through cash tolls. The customer service rep simply kept repeating "SIR YOU OPTED OUT AND USED IT SO YOU WILL RECEIVE NO REFUND". I asked for his manager and then he hung up on me! I called back and spoke to a manager who was equally unhelpful. The beginning of my advantage experience was great. Luckily we paid for full coverage insurance as my fiancé was in an accident. He called advantage as soon as he was hit and they said they were sending a tow truck. The tow truck arrived and said they were sent by Advantage. The customer service rep said to call back with the report number. When I called back the next day I was told that I needed to come fill out an accident report. I gave them the report number and told them I was no longer in the area. I was told to call back and speak to the manag when I did he was not available. I have called the customer service number numerous times and they are rude and not helpful. Don't rent here! I had the worst experience of my life at your car rental counter... although I didn't know it until you guys charged me a lot extra on my credit card. Oh... and didn't have the car I rented available. I rented an SUV - paid extra for the rental only to be told they didn't have one. Beware of this car rental place. Even after you say no to insurance because it's already included in your personal insurance, they'll still add it. And then will "help" you scroll to the signature line on the screen. That way you never know what they did until you find a charge on your card. If you call them? Customer service is very rude... if you can get someone who you can understand. Decided to try renting from Advantage in DFW since the daily fee was lower than other rental companies. They did not give us the key fob with the car. They pass along the charges for tolls (understandable) but then add a $15 toll process fee. Our toll charges were $14.85 so the fee cost more than the tolls, which you cannot pay online - they will only take a check. This is a classic case of "you get what you pay for". It will be worth it to spend more money per day for better service. read more

The worst rental car experience I have ever had. After arriving at the airport at 10pm, we walked to the Advantage counter with our RESERVATION. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where his car isn't there and he says "isn't the point of a reservation to keep the car HERE..." Story of our evening. Sweet talker counter guy called to get our cars number, said we would have a Jetta. Tried to upsell us on everything in the world... then offered us this toll thing for 9.99/day. I told him where we were going (we are from out of state) and he said oh yes, you definitely will need it - it will save you time and money. WRONG. But of course we didn't know that, so we got it. We finally go up to the actual place to get our car. There are about 25 people waiting. I asked the guy when I gave him my paperwork when the car would be ready. "I don't know. I'll call you." I ask whether it will be a few minutes, an hour, what? He snapped at me and said "who knows." Niiiice. So it's 10:30pm and we have no clue how long we will be hanging out. Everyone around us had the same experience with the mean, little man. Everyone who kept coming up had the same experience, as well. He was horrible. I wish I had written down his name. 45 minutes later we get a car. Not a Jetta. Not the car size we requested. But whatever, we are tired and had an hour drive in front of us. The car was a disaster. Scratches and dents everywhere. When I handed back the little sheet to mark where the problems were with the exterior, the mean man said "exaggerate much?" It was then I decided to take a video of the car before we drove away in it... As we are about to get on the interstate, we don't see a toll pass or sticker or anything. My husband quickly calls Advantage and they say it is read through the license plate. We will see. What I DO know is that there were exactly $3 in tolls that we needed to get to our location. They lied their butts off and refused to take the option off our policy when i called to complain. Total ripoff. Horrible customer service. Perfect example of how NOT to run a company. First off, I want to thank the Yelp community for the heads up on how to prepare for renting here. Booked our rental through Hotwire. Paid next to nothing for the rental but that came with a game of russian roulette...you arent told who you are booking with until after you pay. Read the reviews and was terrified. Prepared myself accordingly to the reviews and embarked on our trip. We get to the counter and are helped by Iris. She wasnt mean or clueless or any of the other horrible things that are said about their representatives. We talked about living in Chicago for a little bit before getting down to the nitty gritty. I was not pressured into insurance or the toll tag, read the contract very carefully and was sent to pick up my vehicle. Now...im a 6'3" 225 lb 30 year old dude...and was set up with a Volkswagen Beetle Convertible! I fit very well in it and the car drove extremely well, only went through a tank of gas in over 400 miles of driving. The car had a few dings and a crank on the seat was missing which i documented in case i would end up getting blamed. My deposit was refunded less than 2 days after return in full with no extra charges. I don't know if i was lucky or if people with bad experiences are the only ones to review, but i had a completely pain free experience with Advantage. The only ding I can give is that after booking at the South counter, i was sent to the north garage to pick up the vehicle due to there being none left in the south. We rented this truck weeks in "advance" and once we arrived to the counter the guy called some body called "base" to ask for numbers and said it will be a few minutes. So we didn't mind him taking another company. Four customers later still waiting for this call back. Finally after looking stressed out and 45mins later. He called his manager to go look into the issue. Finally 20 mins later we have a truck that we did NOT want!!! One star because the car I eventually left with does run. And it's not the car's fault! Here's the story.... I made my reservation online through Expedia and the off-site location was not disclosed. Not the end of my world, but it would have been good to know since my group was already pushing our time limit. Finally found the shuttle which came quickly (one star... see?) but that's where the good news ended. Once we arrived we checked in with the receptionist and was put onto a list that showed up on the tv screen. I was number 3. Can't be that long.... right? After waiting over 30 minutes (seeing red at this point because now we are officially late for our surprise party, which we were the surprise guests) I asked a woman who was standing around chatting with another woman who by all accounts worked there. I asked her, "how much longer do you think this might take?" Her response ALMOST caused me to punch a woman in the face for the first time in my 44 year old life. She said, (in the bitchiest way I can describe) "well when did you get here?" OMG OMG OMG all I could do was look at her in a way that said, "you are close to being verbally humiliated in front of your peers" - I just sat back down because we were committed and going back to the airport was just dumb at this point. Finally it was my turn and I asked if we could do this quickly since I had already been there 50 minutes. Ugh. She said, "it takes as long as it takes" Well trained, I suppose. No doubt by the bad skin lady who already bitch faced me. As in other reviews, the pre paid gas and insurance was hard sold. I declined which really ticked her off. Basically she made it seem like I would be driving around with no insurance and if I brought the car back with one teaspoon less than it left with I would incur a huge surcharge. My response, "Ill roll the dice, hun" . One hour and 6 minutes later we were on our way! Do your self a favor... rent from Enterprise. They always nail it. I was a little suspect because of the price BUT the car was fantastic...2011 Fusion..clean with no problems. Paid for tank of gas at the end which proved a sort of good thing since gas stations are a little scarce around the airport. Also I left my cell phone in the car so when I or back to VA I called their lost & found. They called the next day to say they had it and UPS'ed it the next day. Overall a very positive experience. If I were to run a statistical regression on car rental places, I suspect that there is an inverse relationship between stars on Yelp and price. And it holds true for Advantage, it seems. We arrived very late at night (close to midnight by the time we got off the shuttle, with It's a Small World looping in our heads (not Advantage's fault, but our own), into the bright and clean (and somewhat sterile) lobby of Advantage. If only I walked a bit faster off the shuttle, because being the second party into the lobby meant a 20 minute wait. Yes, there was only one party ahead of us and there was a 20 minute wait. Getting up to the desk, I learned why there was a wait. They are *really good* at upselling. I've worked in retail, and I know the lingo. I actually complimented him at the great attempts. They phrase things really well, so if you want to maintain your low fare, think hard before you say yes/no to anything. What might seem as a passing remark is actually the product of really good selling training. BE WARNED. BE SMART! I was particularly worried about their gas policy, because if you want to "opt out", you have to "opt in" and return it with a full tank, or something to that effect. I was so worried, I had the agent walk through it again, asked clarifying questions ala The Good Wife's courtroom, I recorded his name to be sure, and I reread all the documents before walking out the door. So yes, the check-in process was super stressful, but with the price, it's to be expected. And no, it's not a scam and they aren't fees. They are just very-very good at their jobs. I think people who want internet revenge probably agreed to something they didn't think was an upsell. As a result, boom, 1-star. ("Revenge. You like revenge, right? Everybody likes revenge!") However, the drop-off process was super smooth. And I didn't get the fuel charge because I returned it with a full take after that nonsense opt-in to opt-out thing I mentioned before. 5 minutes from pulling up and on the shuttle to the airport. It would have been 3 minutes, but I had gum on my shoe. So my tips: Enjoy the low rate. Be prepared to wait. And think twice every time you say "yes" or "no". And get a Mickey pretzel. We went to Orlando/Daytona from Jan 22nd thru the 30th. We picked up the car at 6:30PM. I booked the car directly from the advantage website (they said I didn't). No big deal, we were excited to be on vacation. 25 minutes into our drive the car was starting to wobble a little. The BF said this is so bad we need to take the car back. We tried calling multiple times with no answer. No opportunity to leave a voicemail. Then the following day (Saturday) I was on hold for thirty minutes and then was hung up on. There was an air leak in the tire. We took it back exchanged it for another car. I asked them why we couldn't get a hold of anyone their reply was, "yea no one can, ever since we merged with EZ rental they don't have the staff to answer." Mind blown at this point and everyone was rude. AND we had to pay extra tolls for going all the way back to the airport. So we have the new car. Next morning wake up AND another slow leak in the tire. We stopped and filled up the tire three times the rest of the week. This experience was the worst I've ever had traveling with a rental car. The people were not very nice, the cars were the worst part, and the customer service did not exist. We made it a great trip. My boyfriend even got the flu one day and this rental car issue was even worse. I'd rather get the flu then use them again. Heads up to all the travels to Orlando. After I explicitly told them that I did not want the supplemental insurance, I found out later (after seeing an additional $100 on my credit card) that they added it on anyway. My experience with Advantage Rent-a-Car was a good one and I saved at least $100 for 5 day rental over the other car rental places. Maybe they've improved their service in response to some of the bad reviews on Yelp? Yes, this location is off the airport and you will have to wait for and take a shuttle to get there. I probably waited about 15-20 minutes, not bad. Once I arrived at the rental spot there was a short wait to speak to a representative -- maybe 10 minutes -- but this is typical at any rent-a-car. The representative was friendly. Yes, they did try to get me to buy their insurance -- be prepared to initial 5 screens confirming that you opted out (a little excessive but oh well). Also, they'll try to get you to buy the gas first (I believe you're better off refilling it yourself at a gas station on return). The insurance and gas policies are typical of any rent-a-car from my experience. I was quite happy with the mid-sized vehicle they gave me, a clean, smoke-free, nearly brand new VW Passat. It was comfortable and had great gas mileage (30mpg). I returned the car at the Fort Myers location with no hassle. Be warned if you return the car a day late you could be charged a very high rate. Of course, if you return the car on time there is no issue. I would use this rent-a-car again, the minor hassles were well worth the savings. read more

Rental location: not inside the airport, they have their own shuttle to take you to their location; I didn't know this until I arrived at the airport Pick-up: about 15 min wait for the Advantage shuttle to arrive at the airport; arrives about every 15min; commute is about 15 min Wait: about 5 people were ahead of us when we got there, there was about a 30 min wait; there were couches to sit on and you were assigned a letter so you won't need to standup to wait in line like the car rental in some airports Agents: you have to check in first when u get there; after u are assigned a letter, they (the employees in the check-in counter) try to sell you timeshare stuff; the rental agents seem to be doing the best they could to expedite the rental process but some people just have too many questions Reservation: did it online (Kayak); my rate was $13/day for a compact sz car like a Nissan Versa; I was offered to upgrade to a roomier car like the Corolla; I declined and still got a Prius (not cool- why try to charge me $20 to upgrade if you were going to give me an upgraded car anyways); I guess this happened since they didn't have any available Versa or similar? So, decline the upgrade cause u might get a roomier car regardless, IF they do not have the one reserved available - just like what happened to me (this is an assumption) ... unless the agent was just trying to be nice Price: way cheaper than airport rental, was cheapest at the time Insurance: just a bunch of sales talk about purchasing insurance after I told him I should have coverage... agent said that what I have doesn't cover this and that and so on... DECLINED! The negative thing that I was shocked with and didn't like at all: the preauthorization deposit of $200!!! I wasn't made aware of this! I guess they forget to tell you on purpose because some customers might change their mind about renting if they find out that the total rental amount + $200 is preauthorized and deducted same day. I used a bankcard and $200+ was deducted from my bank account (on hold) and this amount will not get reversed until after u return your car; so set $200 aside + your total rental amount just for this because this will reflect your available spending limit while on hold. Now, I'm not sure if this applies only if you use a check card. Returning the car: easy, did not have to wait; depending on how many people are dropping off rentals, allot yourself at least 30 min to return and get picked up by the shuttle; make sure u return with a full tank of gas, inspect the car with the agent, read his/her remarks, ask for the final receipt/charge Overall, I may not rent here again. This place is AWFUL! My girlfriend and I should have listen to all the bad reviews. But we wanted to save some money but ended up paying more than the places. The lady at the counter was not helpful at all. She was just on Facebook probably updating her status about how lousy a crap hole she works at. The people at the register will try to sell you insurance and other crap that you don't need. They make it seem like you HAVE to get it, but when really you don't. They like to use scare tactics which I almost fell for. Trust me people don't use this company. We made the mistake once, I urge you not to make the same. At the end of the day, you don't really save any money. They lure you in with the low price and bam upsell you to crap you don't need. Renting a car is almost always the most painful part of a trip after stepping off the plane. Renting a car from an off-airport place is usually downright torture at that! Advantage Rent-a-car near MCO proved to be a wonderful exception to both aforementioned rules. The shuttle arrived in the spot that was told to me in 'Arrivals' and was fast! At the desk, the young lady taking my information and payment was polite, professional, fast and I was in my car driving away in about 10 mins after arriving from the airport. (Savvy travelers, you know the drill: Decline insurance, decline pre-paid gas, etc). My car was new (about 6,000 miles on it), clean, and ran like a top! Returning the car, despite my fears, was even easier and, yes, *fast*: Pulled up in the designated spot, the guy check my mileage, gas, etc., was processed inside in about five minutes, and got my deposit back in two days. Even caught the next airport shuttle right then! At the end of the day, when these guys offer an $11/day rental when everyone else was $25/day, how much can one complain? read more

I made and prepaid this rental without reading the reviews because I had used them years ago and thought it was good. Today while I waited for my flight I started to read the reviews and got really worried. Since it was already prepaid I had to go thru with it. Flew in from DC to Orlando. As soon as I walked out of the terminal the advantage shuttle was already there. The employee was very nice and help me and my elderly dad with our bags into the shuttle. We made one more stop inside the airport and drove 8-10 min to the rental off site store. The other two people on the shuttle ran out into the office and I took longer because I was helping my dad out of the shuttle. Again the driver help us with our bags out of the shuttle. Went in the office and there were like 4 people ahead of me. Two that were there already and the two that were in the shuttle with me. When I walk in the customer service person took my name and told me to have a seat. Waited like 5-10 min and my name was called. The representative was very nice and friendly. He definitively was not in a rush. They do try to sell you every service known in the industry but was car rental company doesn't. I declined them all. The only one I wanted was the service to pay for the Florida tolls. They charge $4.95 a day up to a max of $25 for your rental period to have the service plus all the tolls. It's pretty pricey but I hate to stop at tolls so I took it anyways. They gave me a car with only 500 miles because I rented a Hyundai sonata and they did not have it available so I lucked out. It was a Chevy impala 2014. We were out pretty quickly. I would definitively use them again. I went on a Monday and not on a weekend, maybe that makes a difference for the wait time. read more

This place is horrible! HORRIBLE! H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E!! 1st: This place is off site. You have to take a shuttle & wait for them to pick you up. They don't disclosure that info when you sign up on line 2nd: The customer service was slow, apathetic & disorganized. It took almost 2hrs to ck in! With 2 kids in tow, that is not what I want to deal with. 3rd: Don't buy the insurance. It's a scam! Ck to see if ur car insurance covers it first. My bill went from a great SUV offer of $286/one wk to 3x that amount. DO NOT RENT HERE! PERIOD. POINT. BLANK... Spend a little extra & go to Dollar Rental or some other company. Worst rental car experience I've ever had. The reviews are true that they lure you in with an ultra low rate, then tack on tons of fees, upsell everything, and if you're out for an hour or two extra than when you made the reservation, they'll bill at $30 for an extra day. Also, they never had me sign anything or explain to me that I had to fill out any existing dents/damage. The gate attendant never took the receipt of it, and when I came back, they tried to say that I need to fill out an accident report for a dent the size of my thumb. This company is a bottom feeder and they engage in fraudulent business practices with their customers. Bait you with super low rate, tack on whatever they can to final bill and hope you don't ask them about the existing damage report so when you come back, they can accuse you for any existing damage, it's horrible. My family rented an economy car we were flying in from another state. The shuttle was there when our flight landed. The driver was very courteous and loaded our luggage. We arrived at the rental company in about 10min we did have to wait about 20min to get our rental but everything ran smoothly. I didn't get hassled about add-ons which was great. We ended up getting a VW convertible Beetle for four days for $69, which was a pleasant surprise. No issues with the car, but make sure to mark down every scratch/dent etc or they will charge you when you bring it back. So we checked the car over twice. They will try to sell on you cheap theme park tix, but it is a timeshare presentation you must attend to get the deal. It was worth it for us BC we got Universal tix for $66. I'd definitely rent here again. Tip: Keep quarters and dollar bills for the tolls (some only take exact change) and get receipts. Also, BC you have to bring the car back on full, if you are staying away from the company fill up somewhere cheaper then top off at the gas station up the street before you return the car. (the gas station nearest the rental company is about $.50 higher than anywhere else) read more

Worst rental ever! As people have mentioned, it's off site, so once you chase down their shuttle, it's about ten minutes away. Upon arriving at the office, as others have said, they pushed the insurance, arguing that it was part of the process and could not be declined. We knew better. However, they then refused to honor our reservation price, despite our having a valid confirmation number. The guy who claimed to be the manager, loudly proclaimed that it was at his option whether or not to honor a confirmation and that in this case, he was not going to. He was still more than happy to rent to us, but not at that rate. Instead he wanted more than $100 more than we had been quoted with the confirmation. We loaded back on the shuttle to the airport and rented elsewhere. read more

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! One star is one too many. We arrived at the counter at midnight to about 10 people in line. I timed it after standing there, it takes about 15 minutes to check someone in. Lots of showing of phones and paperwork, the agents making calls, apparently getting the car you booked at the price you booked is a common problem. After standing in that line, we had the same problem as everyone else. We ended up with a Jeep Patriot, not the vehicle we booked, but OK. We go to the pick up area and wait. And wait. And wait. No one cares that it is after 1:00 am, we are tired and want to leave. Nope, they huddle in their hut and tell us to wait. After that, we get to check our car for damage. 2014 Patriot with 40,000 miles, newest fleet is a joke. Guy is hurrying us through checking the car, we are over it at this point, and we leave. The car charger does not work and we cannot get one radio station on our way to the hotel. There is no washer fluid. The vehicle has a horrible vibration and thumping noise at highway speed (in the morning we find a bubble on the tire) and we contact the road service number when we get to the hotel about the tire. And send emails. After having the Jeep for a week, we are still waiting for a response to our numerous calls and emails. My husband is handy and fixed the car charger, bought an antenna mast at a auto parts store to fix the radio. (I see by other reviews that customer paid repairs are not unusual and never reimbursed) What a lousy experience to ride in that with the vibration and thumping sound.
