I Just tried to file a complaint and I get someone who can't speak English from South Africa now!!! What's going on here??? People do yourself a BIG favor and take my advice! Go somewhere else!!! Then they have the nerve to respond with some BS below my post??? Like reading from a script with no knowlege of what happened! When you have the medical problems I have and trust in a so called "Doctor" then you'd understand, but untill then cut the crap OK! Sit tight and wait until I contact the proper agencies and let them decide. This was my first visit and this is the primary care so called "Doctor" Her name is a (Female)Rao. The only woman doctor I know of which was appointment to me not my choice! Don't even bother going here I should have read the reviews before I went here myself. First of all you have to go through a central number to get to the office which is a big waste of time listen to music for 10-15 minutes for them to give the message to them to give to the doctor which takes 24-48 hours?NO! I want to speak to a doctor's office I don't want to be on the phone all day with prompts press this and that number 1 number 2 number 3, 4 and 5. I want to speak to the office!!! First visit I have to tell her what she should do? I said I'm new let's start fresh new doctor let me get the blood work then take it from there. So I said all right I'm going to Walgreens so I can get this done right away I left within an hour it was done all right so she says all right let me know when you had it done which I did immediately.Well they have a website with a dashboard to leave n messages I put the blood work was done. Did she call me? No! First of all that makes no sense to call her when she receives it if I did! Now, I go on the portal to let him know I had it done figured she'd get back to me because the numbers were critical and I needed medication this is due to gaps in between with bad doctors in the past as well. Do you think she'd answer back??? The answer is NO! So now I had to make the appointment! I'm the patient I shouldn't have to do this, this is HER job!!! SHE should have called back! So anyway the second visit 4 days later.Now, you know what she says? You have to see an endocrinologist. She's a primary care doctor I guess you can at least give me water pills she can at least give me that all right so she asked me what do you want me to give you do you believe this what do you want me to give you??? She's worse then all the doctors that I've seen in the past! That's it! I'm done! I'm going somewhere else. That's why you're paying high medical insurance premiums. I've had the past doctors they sent me here sent me there sent me everywhere they fleece the insurance company by either keeping you ill or they don't know what they're doing. I came here recently for blood work and it was pretty good. I went in and they scanned my forehead for a temperature and then sent me to where they do bloodwork. I had to wait a little bit for it to be my turn. But it wasn't that bad. The whole process was pretty quick and easy. This is the first time I have come here just for bloodwork and I would make my bloodwork appointments here again. I still have a bad taste in my mouth about making an appointment here to see a doctor, I have had too many bad experiences and will always make the longer trip to Ronkonkoma. read more

When I first came here which was a while back no let me say a long while back it was called The Hip Center then they change the name to Queens Long Island Medical Group now they're called Advantage Care when it was under hip when you got a doctor you had that Dr for a long time and when you went in they had all your records. Now under there Advantage Care all the girls in the front are disgruntled underpaid and just don't like their job anymore and the doctors I guess they're having the same problems because every time you go back you have a different doctor now I would say that's not good. But the good thing about it is they have a variety of different doctors their so you don't have to go anywhere else to get a EKG or an x-ray or blood work. Absolutely terrible. My primary absolutely dropped the ball and didn't give me a blood work up when I requested. I had been struggling with chest pain for 3 years and no answers. I went in to see my primary and requested I get blood work done she told me I had to set up a separate appointment for a physical to get blood work done. The next day I had a cardiologist appt and thank God the receptionist went ahead and scheduled that for me in advance had he not did that and I would have not even seen my cardiologist because forget getting referrals around here smh, my cardiologist was the only one who actually gave a fuck about me. I would of died literally I was walking around with a 4 hemoglobin for God knows how long and had to be emitted into the emergency room the next day. My cardiologist blew up my phone to tell me and I spent the week getting a blood & iron transfusion. I am so outraged with my primary I'm getting a new one. On my initial visit she was so quick to ignore my request for blood work up and was so happy & quick to give me SSRI's antidepressants without any blood work up ! But refused to just let me get a simple comprehensive lab work up !!!! Because of her negligence I could of almost died thank God for the cardiologist. OH ! not to mention everyone there is extremely rude and nasty got into a huge argument with one of the echo technicians because she said hi and I didn't hear her because of her mask and she caught and attitude. I lost it after spending the weekend getting double blood transfusions then to come in and deal with disgusting behavior from adults who willing took a job there unreal. Disgusting. And it's a shame because they have so many different departments there so it's convent and there are doctors there that actually care but that place is a true dump smh. Im finally writing a review as this would be my almost third visit to this location for various reasons. To start, i initially had an appointment scheduled at this location to see a Gastroenterologist Named Nichole Rhynback and for the 3rd time she decided she wasnt coming in on the day of my appointment. Second, i came into this location previously to do bloodwork and upon entering there was what seemed to be a Muslim phlebotomist wearing a turban, who drew my blood and he was on his ear piece speaking his language while he not only called my name to the window; did not speak clearly to indicate where im to meet him to enter the area to have my blood work drawn and continued to speak his language on his ear peice during the entire duration of my appointment. Third, i came in here 2 yrs ago to see a different gastroenterologist (forgot name) who was indian; who upon entering my treatment room stood in the doorway w the door wide open while asking me questions - refused to examine me w/ touch and kept insisting my pain was in my mid back (kidneys) when i kept stating otherwise. His bedside manner was extremely odd. I should have left a review before about this place but after this final appointment cancellation by Nicole Rhyneback ive decided its time to write a review. Unsure how this location operates but my experience has been that they are highly unprofessional, uninterested, unavailable and completely disconnected to their medical purpose of helping people. Im don't usually take the time to leave reviews but I felt like I had to this time. The atmosphere in the place seems fine. The security guard at the front door greeted me when I walked in and said goodbye when I left, which is always nice. Problem one: the first time I made an appointment, I got there early since it was my first time there. It was somewhere around 830a, I think. I got to the desk and the woman tells me she can't find me in the schedule. Long story short, whoever took my call "put me in the computer but never finished the file or made the appointment officially". Great. Ok. So I rescheduled for a later date and went and got myself breakfast and was early to work. Problem two: when I came back and was actually able to see the doctor, I waited a good 45 minutes between sitting in the lobby and waiting in the room before I was seen. Now, I'm a huge supporter of nurses and assistants and other staff. I know they work harder than just about anyone. My problem with the woman who came to put all my information in the computer was she barely spoke or could understand English. I'm not one of those people who cares about accents or countries of origin, but I was getting so frustrated that I nearly asked her if I could just take over and fill it all in myself. I would spell a medication or something for her several times and she'd, for some reason, keep adding 'o's to them. It was just frustrating. Problem three: finally the doctor arrived. Dr. Mawhirt. She's pleasant, yes. Didn't seem too interested in me or my concerns or issues. I asked her about something and she said "well you're too young. that's not really something that should effect you." Ok?? And?? Any suggestions? Want to know why I asked?? She listened to my chest, checked my ears and eyes. That's it. Told me if I wanted to have blood taken and analyzed I could go down the hall. Thanks doc. Real helpful. Problem four: when I left the room and made my way back to the lobby, I went to the desk and asked a clerk with no one in front of her where the lab was. She held up a finger, didn't look up from her computer, and told me to let her finish what she was doing. I didn't even bother. I left because I was already getting close to when I needed to get to work. tl;dr - pretty sure they just want your money. no one seems particularly concerned for the patient and things definitely do not run smoothly. they instilled no confidence whatsoever. I went yesterday for a visit with an endocrinologist. The waiting time was minimal , I was in an out in less than an hour. The doctor was very thorough and explained to me the plan to help me and my concerns. Dr Rattan exceeded my expectations, he was honest and wanted to help me, he gave me referrals to other specialist and will see me in two months. This institution is the worse medical institution that I have ever been to. The doctors are quacks, and the administrative process equally worse. The doctors are always trying to make you visit even when not necessary, so they can bill the insurance (i.e. they want lab work done, even though the same labs were done 4 months ago). Then if you try to get an appointment, they don't have anything for months on end, because they jam-pack the appointments to double-book/triple-book patients, all to maximize the number of patients, so they can bill more and make more money. So if you are lucky to get an appointment, once you get there, you'll wait at LEAST 1.5/2 hours to get seen by the doctor. And good luck getting a prescription refilled. See - you can't ever call the doctors office directly - they route all calls through the call center, which is not at the doctors office. All they do is note that you requested the refill, and then they sign off. If it reaches the doctor (or not) nobody knows. So you call back to follow up, and they are all confused, because they don't actually know what happened at the doctors office. I've called 4 times today for a prescription refill, and each time, I had to explain the whole story, and the only thing they could tell me is that they sent a note to the doctors office. One time they told me (at 230pm) that the prescription will be sent in 5 mins to the pharmacy. If it's not there in an hour, call back. I checked in 1 hour, and the prescription was not there, and so I called back. And guess what? the offices closes at 3pm!!!. What kind of customer service is this? Zero organization, zero process, zero focus on patients, and worst of all, zero care for actual medical care. Avoid this place if you value your sanity. read more

Lady at the blood test front desk has an attitude and it's terribly Abusing everybody

The clinic is visually appealing. The receptionist greeted me upon entry. I saw the Medical Assistant about 15 minutes after I arrived to check my vitals. She didn't introduce herself, which I believe all medical professionals should be doing. While she was asking me routine questions her back was turned and buried into the computer screen which made it extremely hard to understand. I saw PA Mawhirt, she was really nice and helpful! This establishment is also known as the HIP center or Long Island Queens Medical Center. So here is the scoop. I have been a patient for a long time. I thought the place was excellent, and it really was pretty good. As I got older (aging) I began to need more medical services. This is where you start to see the differences... On the plus side they have a lot of different types of doctors here. You also can even get an XRAY! The place looks like a clinic so they are trying to make it look modern by doing some construction. Sooo what's wrong? Most of the support staff are not happy working here. They complain about their pay, working conditions, how management couldn't give a crap etc etc. Management only cares about P & L !! When a large percentage of the back end staff are NOT happy about working their you know that you have a problem. The Doctors... As with any larger facility you have both the good and bad. For those who go here for a while, remember Dr. Russo? He couldn't take it, so he left. Several others left too. Dr. Salama ended up getting fired. Almost everyone loved him. Unfortunatly his wait times were crazy because he was the only neurologist their. He cared and didn't rush you. They are understaffed so getting an appointment is getting harder and harder. That means longer wait times. If you need to see someone out of the center and need to get a referral then things get tricky. It isn't that easy. About my current Dr. When my last Dr. left I had relationships with 2 of the nurses. I asked them several questions and asked who I should see. When BOTH said the same person I picked her. I am pretty happy. About a year ago Restaurateur Danny Meyer was hired to provide workshops to show how to run a medical office and make it people friendly, Medicare pays more if the surveys says that the patients are happy, I guess when you walk into the office they say NEXT GUEST. I feel like I'm checking into a hotel. Recently they switched over to a central telephone center. That means EVERY call goes into 1 location and not the center that you go to. The wait times were crazy! They have addressed this issue and it's getting better. Talking to your Dr. on the phone. You have a better chance winng the lottery. They are just very over worked. Almost every time a nurse will CB. It's like playing telephone tag. You will read a lot of other reviews that bash the HIP center, Queens Long Island Medical Center and now it's being called ADVANTAGECAREPhysicians. If I had to find another group I would. I found everyone at the AdvantageCare Physicians Office in North Babylon, NY extremely helpful and kind. The staff at the front desk were welcoming and comforting. The nurses went out of their way to help me complete the paperwork I needed for school. Even though they were extremely busy, the nurses went above and beyond to ensure I got everything I needed. Both the nurses and Dr. Majeed provided excellent care and really took the time to answer all of my questions which put my mind at ease. Dr. Majeed was friendly, professional, and really tuned into my needs/concerns. I am grateful for all the employees at the North Babylon office and appreciate everything they've done for me! read more
