Zwanger is now using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to read mammograms. I have been going to Zwanger Pesiri to get my mammograms and ultrasounds done for nearly 20 years, and today, 5/2/26, was the first time I was asked to opt in for the use of AI, which would assist the radiologist in examining my breasts. I was charged a $25 fee, but it was well worth it. This is because Google says that AI-assisted screenings could detect cancers that radiologists might have missed. Zwanger has so many convenient locations for imaging tests like MRIs, CTs, mammos, etc. They also accept so many insurances (even the NY marketplace insurances). I've come here in the past and recently had to come for a follow-up and the West Islip location is pretty close for me. The waiting room is clean and pleasant. They were showing a docu of penguins while I was in the waiting room - nice and calming! Until it was switched to the US Open. I'd prefer the penguin channel if I'm being honest! My only complaint would be the wait time - I was taken in almost 40 min past my appointment time. I understand things happen and offices get busy, but it's hard when you have small children/etc. Deirdre was a pro at placing the port (needed contrast for this exam, ugh) and was Leah running the CT. Both super sweet, made me feel calm and at ease. So professional and kind. Alicia running the front also excellent - no complaints on the care here, it was top notch. If I need further imaging in the future, I'd without a doubt return to Zwanger. read more

Sitting in the pleasant waiting room currently, I don't want to take a photo and creep the staff out. Check in is easy with forms prepopulated by the info they took when you made the appointment- also, they're on an ipad. Ipads are sanitized before and after patient use. Brought two kindle magazines and the wait is so short even at 5:20pm that I didn't get a chance to open them. This office is very efficient once insurance authorizations are out of the way, and that's something they don't have control over. Reviewing in part because it's so nice to not have to rewrite everything on a clipboard, and the waiting areas legitimately look like a spa. OK, I'm gonna snap a quick pic. read more

I was able to quickly schedule two exams and the receptionist made the appointments back to back so I had no extra waiting time. The location was clean. The people were friendly. The tech explained the steps of the procedure so I knew what to expect. They helped me relax and made simple chit chat to make the time pass. Nice staff, very nice tech who did my Cat Heart (Calcium Score)...but it's 72 hours now, no test results on my Patient Portal. 2 yrs ago went for an Mri at the Lindenhurst location for something and got results in under 8 hrs as I recall, so now I'm thinking I got bad results and they don't want to put it on the patient portal? If I do have a major heart calcification, I'll probably die first of a heart attack worrying myself silly as to why my test is not yet on the patient portal! It's been 72 hrs, and in fact they emailed me yesterday morning to do a "patient survery" and had the chutzpa to ask me how I liked the "patient portal" (I emailed them 4 times now, no response as to why it is not posted but their email suggests it is indeed done?) They have to know a patient would be concerned.... but, lol like the old saying sometimes "no news is good news" Then again.... Update, it took 4 days to get results which were good; but still would have been nice to get a reply from my 3 emails as they could see I was anxious... read more

Here's the Scoop: I've come to several offices and their waiting areas have large screen TVs and comfortable seating. The staff is helpful in filling out forms and friendly. Scans, X-RAY or MRI's are fast and staff is very efficient. Usually there's a bookcase in the lobby with free novels some new, some used but great authors. I've found some really good novels. They accept most insurance plans and of course credit or debit cards. Check them out if you need any of the tests listed they have many locations. read more

Friendly staff, however, the mammogram tech admitted that they forgot about me. I waited 1 hour past my appointment time. The reviews about the wait time are accurate. The place is small and the lobby seems a bit run down. I wouldn't go back to this location. read more

I called to make an apt. After 15 minutes someone picked up and placed me on hold again. After about another 20 minutes the system just kicked me off. The only reason I gave them a 2 is that I have used them in the past and HAD been satisfied. read more

I've had my mammograms and breast sonograms done here for many years and it's always a good experience especially since getting a mammogram is not something I like doing. Thankfully it's only once a year. The techs are always sweet and courteous. Never a problem or bad experience here. read more

The office was clean, and staff were friendly. I didn't have an appointment, but I was seen right away and guided through the paperwork. I must say the staff at this Zwanger-Persiri location is absolutely incredible. I had a CTA with contrast in the MRI section at 759 Montauk. I first want to congratulate the web designers as their patient portal site is amazing. From the front of the office I was greeted by a kind receptionist with reddish hair who met me with a warm smile and was able to process my paperwork expeditiously. After completing my paperwork the wait which was short I was called by my test tech and her name Kristen. Kristen explained to me all the details concerning my tests and allied my fears. Needless to say I was crying and she along with my wife Celia comforted me in time of stress. After my medicine insert was put into my arm I was turned over to the actual person that ran the test, Vin. Vin was very kind, helped me get comfortable and made the time of the test go snap snap snap !!!!!. I strongly suggest if you ever need test taken, take it here read more

This is the second time I've come here for a CT scan that's supposed to be "stat" and I waited over an hour. Either they need more machines And workers or better/workers. This is ridiculous. The front desk is nice and helpful though, and not their fault. read more

So impressed w the desk help. Tgey arw compassionate. I am not impressed w the way in which one bad apple spoiled my thoughts about zwanger. All in all i left rheir feeling as if insurance matters more than someo life. We must forgive those who havw tresspassed aggainst orhers. I went to Zwanger W. Islip location for an MRI of my leg and have to honestly say that Kristen made me feel more like a criminal than someone battling prostate cancer. Her incompetence totally ruined my day. She asked me about deductibles an when I explained and showed her my secondary insurance card, she said it was just for the pharmacy (wrong). I immediately turned around and walked out the door. What I thought would be a simple and harmless procedure turned out to be an absolute embarrassment for me. Please take the time to educate Kristen on procedures germane to deductibles so no one else has to go through the uncomfortable experience that I went through. read more

I would give more then 5 stars for this facility if I could....From my initial phone call the staff at the West Islip location were extremely helpful, they took the time to listen and were beyond professional. They went above and beyond and were able to get me in for a CT scan that I had been trying to get for months (the delay had to do with the doctors office) within an hour of me calling. From the minute I walked in the door the staff were attentive and pleasantly friendly. The check-in and paperwork process took minutes. The CT tech made every effort to make sure I was comfortable during every minute of the scan and talked to me through the whole thing. They took the time to answer any questions I had and their knowledge and information was extremely helpful. I was there for no more then a half hour and left with the disk in my hand. I had my mammogram and my bone density exam this year, but I have been having all my mammograms done at the West Islip office for the last 3 years and I always have a great experience. The place is always immaculate clean, everyone there is very courteous, pleasant and knowledgeable. I love the fact that I can go on line and read my reports and see my films, also completing the information on line therefore when I get there it takes no time.
