I am submitting this complaint regarding my GI imaging appointment scheduled for July 14 at 10:00 AM. When I called to schedule my appointment approximately one week in advance, I specifically asked where I needed to go. I was only told to go to the "west side" or "west building" of the hospital. I also asked for the room number, but one was not provided. I was not given a department name, floor, direct phone number, or any other location details. I also did not receive any appointment confirmation by email, text message, or phone call with instructions for my visit. On the day of my appointment, I arrived on time and went to the front desk. I showed them the information I had been given, and they directed me to the outpatient department. After going there, I was told I was in the wrong building. I then called the hospital operator for assistance. I explained that I was trying to find my GI imaging appointment and that I had only been told to go to the west side of the hospital. Instead of helping me locate the correct department, I was told to ask registration, and hung up on me before my issue was resolved. When I finally reached the appropriate department, I was asked for my referral paperwork. I had never been told that I needed to bring it, and because I never received any appointment confirmation or instructions, I had no way of knowing it was required. I was also informed that the ultrasound department's system was down. However, my appointment had been scheduled about a week in advance. Since I did not receive any confirmation or instructions before my appointment, I believe patients should be provided with the necessary information before the day of their visit, even if technical issues arise. I rarely visit this hospital, so I was relying on the directions and instructions provided to me. I made every reasonable effort to find the correct location by asking for directions when scheduling, arriving on time, asking the front desk for help, and calling the hospital operator. Despite those efforts, I was unable to reach the correct department, and my appointment was ultimately canceled. read more

My son was admitted a few days ago from the ER with severe back pain from 3 bulging discs. All was well until he was seen by their house Psychiatrist, Dr. Calicka, who is an infamous 80+ year old witch that no one can believe still practices (read her reviews). The next thing we know is he's released, without any treatment or physical therapy, all of which were promised. He left in severe pain using a walker. His Med-I-Cal Is pending so that could also be the reason he was denied treatment, which is unethical, in my opinion. read more

My friend composed a letter addressed to the nurses' station and to "my experience" Adventist Health Organization, requesting to be added as a contact person for her hospitalized husband, in accordance with HIPAA regulations. She was initially added, but subsequently removed. They did not reach out to her until they were unable to reach her sister-in-law for several days. The individual my friend spoke with from Adventist Health indicated that she would be permitted to stay overnight with her husband. This was the second occasion she had prepared with the expectation of being with her husband. When she intended to stay, the charge nurse informed her that she could not. The ICU charge nurse on March 9, 2026, at 7:45 p.m., stated that individuals are allowed to stay if they believe the patient will pass away within a few hours. I inquired if he believed the patient would live beyond three hours. The nurse conveyed that, he himself is in good health, an unforeseen passing remains a potential outcome. I found this statement to be quite sarcastic and lacking in empathy. The sister-in-law and wife declined to leave, asserting that someone else had informed them they could stay. The charge nurse expressed that the individual who provided that information was uneducated. To summarize, the patient passed away approximately an hour and a half after visiting hours. Had they departed, the patient would have passed without his wife and sister by his side. The charge nurse's assessment regarding the patient's prognosis of living beyond three hours was inaccurate. read more

I had an unpleasant experience at this hospital as a teen and never wanted to come back. Unfortunately, my niece was admitted here so I had to return. She arrived at the Emergency room at 12:30 am on Friday. They informed her that she had appendicitis. Around 8 am she was assigned a room. At 11:30 am the doctor said her surgery was scheduled for that afternoon. At 6 pm they finally took her into surgery. The surgery took longer than expected. Turns out her appendix ruptured because they waited so long. The surgeon said he cleaned all the toxins out. I certainly hoped he did. However, my niece was in severe pain for two days and didn't get to go home until Monday. I won't go on a rant about the healthcare system but, needless to say, I'm not happy. On the plus side, her nurses in the East Tower were compassionate (especially Greg), the gentleman at the front desk was very nice, and parking was convenient. read more

Relatively clean environment but the staff was less than favorable. RN April Day was extremely unprofessional making me and my friend extremely uncomfortable. Despite the inappropriate attitude, she took one look at my friend without finding out any prior medical history and said the pain in her leg was caused by her weight. As people in the medical field ourselves we were taken aback, of course weight could be a contributing factor but to not even ask prior medical history before making the assumption "nothing will change until you loose weight" is not only offensive but extremely unprofessional. I truly hope not all staff here is as unprofessional but with this experience I am unsure. read more

(0/5 if I could) My grandmother spent over a week in the CTU unit of the East Tower, and our family's experience was extremely disappointing. While many of the nurses were kind and caring when they were actually present, the overall level of care and responsiveness was unacceptable. One of the biggest issues was response time. My grandmother would press the call button and often wait 30-40 minutes before anyone came to assist her. For a patient with kidney failure and multiple serious health concerns, that is simply not acceptable. Patients should not be left waiting that long when they need help. Communication from the doctors was also frustrating. We were repeatedly told that everything was going to be okay, yet her condition seemed to be getting worse rather than improving. Instead of seeing progress, we continued to see fluid buildup and ongoing complications despite receiving dialysis three times a week. As family members, we were left feeling unheard, confused, and concerned. What made this experience even more upsetting was watching my grandmother struggle while feeling like nobody was taking enough urgency with her care. We expected better communication, better coordination, and a clearer plan of action from the medical team. Ultimately, our family lost confidence in the care she was receiving and made the difficult decision to transfer her from Adventist to USC for further treatment. No family should feel like they have to move a loved one because they no longer trust the quality of care being provided. I hope this review encourages improvements in patient responsiveness, communication, and overall care so that other families do not have to go through the same experience. read more

Quite unhelpful here. Doctors don't return phone calls or literally help in anyway. I can't get responses or printouts or anything that will help us navigate through the healthcare system. Actual care from my view point is they CAN do a much better job. My aunt hasn't been fed through her feeding tube for two days when she shouldn't have had to starve at all. If I can give a 0 star I would. I will say though my husband nurse Ariel was so amazing! But the front staff to check in the girl Miranda was horrible. My son age 13 wanted to see his dad. So Miranda told me to call my husband nurse to see if he can go up as an exception and his nurse said yes but then Miranda said "actually can I speak to your supervisor" then she told me no. Why jump loop holes for you to say no. The age policy needs to change! Have sympathy for kids to see their dads. Especially when they've been there since Sunday! Then the security said "well if he's sick he can get others sick" so at 14 he can't? Make it make sense: I can be sick and go up and get others sick.... I feel they had zero empathy. If my husband nurse is saying yes and you asked for a yes from her why go down loops to get a no from anyone else? But I don't even blame Miranda I blame the hospital for such a horrible policy. You should be at least 12 and being able to visit your dad. My husband ended up coming down because he they can't stop him. Miranda just gave me a bad taste I did not like her at all. I'll go back and say he's 14 then next time! Ridiculous! Miranda showed zero empathy or care. All she did was play with her hair and gave attitude. I work with families as well I would see if there is a way for child to see their dad. But some people don't care or shouldn't be in that profession. This is a long overdue love letter to the ER doctor and nurses that were working on 2/10/2024, who saved my child's life. Last year, my 10 year old son developed an ear infection. When he initially complained about ear pain, I gave him some over-the-counter homeopathic ear drops. He said they helped, and didn't mention anything again until a couple days later on a Friday. I asked him if he thought he could make it to school, and he said yes. So I gave him some childrens Advil & sent him to school. That night, he was sleepy & I could tell he didn't feel well, but he didn't have a fever, so I gave him Advil again and told him I'd take him to urgent care in the morning. The next morning, he woke up and said he had a headache. I asked if he wanted to go to urgent care, but he said he wanted to sleep some more. I gave him Advil yet again, and let him sleep, thinking his body was naturally fighting off whatever was ailing him. He still had no fever & no other symptoms. A couple hours later, I went to check on him, and found him pale as a ghost, clammy, disoriented, & in/out of consciousness. I called 911 immediately and Glendale Fire Dept showed up. They downplayed & mishandled the entire interaction. By the time they arrived, I was sitting on my front stoop with my son. They took his vitals & started asking me really stupid questions, like: "is this unusual for him?" Then they asked me if I WANTED to go to the ER. I said "I think we have to." Then they asked if I wanted to drive him myself. When they finally did begin the drive to the ER, they drove a normal pace, never turning on their lights. My mom followed behind & had no issues keeping up with the ambulance. I actually started to think I might be overreacting. But the second they wheeled my son into the ER, the doctor began screaming at them that my son was in duress. She said "this child does not look okay!!" It was evident whatever was being relayed to the ER by the firemen was downplaying his symptoms. Once inside, they began testing my son. They immediately ordered antibiotics, and then sent him in for a CT scan, at which point, my son lost consciousness. I cannot tell you the helpless feeling of watching your child motionless on a hospital bed, with medical staff rushing in and out around him, poking his arm for blood, running tests, and talking in code in hushed worried voices. During this excruciating time, the head nurse asked me my name. I wish I could remember hers, because she was a literal angel. She talked to me that day like I was her best friend - with a comfort & support that only a best friend can. She was gentle & loving with my son, and put my hysterical mama mind at ease. Meanwhile, the lovely lady doctor stepped out of the room at one point, where she sternly demanded the pharmacy get my son's antibiotics to them NOW. Then went so far as to send one of the staff members running to/from the pharmacy to get them even faster. Next thing you know, my son got the dose of antibiotics, & we were whisked off in another ambulance to Children's Hospital, where my son was admitted to the Pediatric ICU. Once there, they performed a spinal tap, & discovered my son had bacterial meningitis. He stayed at Children's for 2 weeks, where he made a full & complete recovery with no lasting longterm effects, which I have NO DOUBT was thanks to the fast acting response of his doctor & nurse at Adventist Health Glendale ER. I will forever be grateful to those two beautiful souls who saved my baby!!! read more

The male nurse on floor 3 is overbearing, lacks compassion, loud as f:$;@ and treats his patients like toddlers. My friend who's experiencing heart failure in his 90's was cold and this jack ass nurse took his blankets away. He also talked extremely loud to him...agism? What? cause he looks old and feeble you think he can't understand you bro?! I'm so angry. I literally asked him to put the blankets back on him and he said he took it off cause he wanted my friend to wake up for his visitors. He's barely hanging onto life dude! My experience with Adventist Health has been very meh. Their network of doctors is already limited, which makes it hard to find quality care. But even worse, they knowingly attempted to double charge me for services that are fully covered under my insurance. They tried to bill me an extra $600 on top of what my insurance had already paid in full. Make sure you take odd bills directly to your insurance provider because this medical group aims to scam. This feels dishonest and exploitative, especially from a healthcare provider that people rely on in vulnerable times. Patients deserve transparency and integrity in billing, not surprise charges or attempts to collect money that isn't owed. read more

I am so disappointed in this hospital ER! Took my child in for severe stomach pain at 1:30 am and we waited for hours and no one would see her!! There were other children there who needed to be seen and not an ounce of care for any of them. Some had been waiting for 5 hours!! I am so disgusted! A child in pain should always be priority. Terrible experience. I was treated as if I had no right to privacy over my personal information or documents. My personal papers, which included my own notes, were taken from me through deception. A person sitting at the front of the radiology clinic on the basement level presented himself as a facility employee and took my documents, promising to return them after my X-rays were completed. When I returned, he was gone. The person who replaced him had no idea who I was talking about or where my documents were. Later, I was told that the individual who took my papers was not an employee at all, but a student. No one knew his name or where he was, and there was no real effort to investigate the situation. When I asked to speak to a manager, someone named Tina came out. She admitted the person was a student but refused to give me his name. Eventually, the student reappeared and claimed he never said he would return my documents, only other paperwork--which is completely untrue. This entire situation was chaotic, stressful, and lasted about an hour. Only after a supervisor became involved did I finally get my documents back. This was a serious breach of trust and privacy. I will never return to this facility. read more

One-year update: Our loved one is doing very well! There are two things I forgot to mention in my original post. Dr. Seropyan pressured our family into hospice care, stating that "It would be too hard for us to take care of her yourselves" and that "She was going to progressively decline." Our loved one has gotten significantly better, and we are able to care for them at home. I believe a doctor's recommendations should be grounded in objective medical facts, not personal assessments of a family's capabilities. Whether a loved one is placed in hospice or is brought home should always be the family's decision, and I think it is inappropriate for a doctor (and for the hospice team) to pressure a family with multiple hospice visits, phone calls, and texts. A physical therapist attempted to force my loved one to perform exercises when she was clearly too fatigued and unwell to do so. Despite my loved one's inability to comply and her obvious signs of distress, the therapist persisted in the attempt for several minutes before discontinuing the session. read more

On January --, 2023, my 4 year old son and I were denied permission to be with my wife during her labor due to the hospitals covid-19 protocols. The birth of my daughter. I think about this often and can't help but to be upset. I had been deployed overseas for quite some time. My command allowed me to return home. My daughter is healthy and there were no physical problems during the birth, but this moment was very special to us. It is late here, and this is weighing heavy on my mind now. To wish I could be there is unrealistic. In another world however, I am with them to witness my daughters first breath into this world. Okay let's get into this! I went in for my induction at 39 weeks on a Wednesday I had many nurses but the night I gave birth I had be most amazing RN I've ever come across . Her name is Odessa she was a travel nurse who I happened to get that night. She stayed with me all night she was able to help turn my baby. I can't express my gratitude enough the hospital staff was amazing and attentive. My baby was taken such good care of and myself. To odessa if you see this. The individual patient recovery rooms were clean and spacious with a sofa and desk where I could work and sit by my father's side for a few days post surgery. I visited the Emergency Department for a severe anxiety attack. After the attending physician prescribed an oral medication, the nurse had the pill in her possession but delayed administering it for about 90 minutes, despite my visible distress. During this time, she called in multiple other patients, ignored my condition, and made comments implying she needed to "deal with another customer" first. She further postponed the medication until after an albuterol breathing treatment, even though the therapy can increase heart rate and worsen anxiety. A respiratory therapist confirmed that this delay was inappropriate. Along with other lost souls I spent a great deal of time up and down stairs trying to locate the exit to the West Tower, Finally stumbled upon an exit no where near the west tower entrance. Had to hike up the hill. After my procedure I discovered a causeway that easily led to parking lot elevators. No where did it indicate how to pay for parking. Machine or attendant. Never ever go to this hospital or anyone associated with this hospital! Loved my experience with the actual doctor, but this hospital will find ways to over charge you. I got charged double for a lab test that I didn't consent to. When I asked why it was double they said "the first test didn't work so we had to do it again". Mind you, I didn't even know that I was getting the test done. The people that worked with this hospital literally told me to avoid them as much as I can. I ignored them cuz I figured I was in network and it would make things easier to get everything done at the same place. So I tried to get a ultrasound here, and when I finally was getting set up for an appointment I asked how much it was going to be with my IN NETWORK insurance and it was going to be over $1000. Got it done somewhere else for less that $150. Spent months trying to figure out claims and to fix the issue on my bill, but they made it so difficult I ended up just taking the L and paying for the test I never even asked for. read more

We've been here 5 days and still no definitive diagnosis. We've had several wrong diagnoses. No coordination between the specialty docs (or should I say, NPs, since that's who we seem to see more than actual board certified physicians). For hours we have been trying to ask a nurse or anybody else how we get transferred to a hospital that can give us the information that we need to make a life or death decision. The ER was great. Two of the floor RNs are very good. Two are not. We're about ready to AMA and go to Huntington. read more

This hospital is scamming people for money. I refused care after reading their reviews about erroneously charging people. I was so scared they'd charge me even though I didn't receive any care that I requested to speak with a social worker about my rights as a patient. They assured me that I wouldn't be charged anything. Lo and behold, they charged my insurance $3000 for who knows what, and sent a debt collections agency after me for charges on top of that. This is a review for the ER. I made this mistake of coming here because Kaiser' ER was too far. I was the first person in the waiting room at around 530ish am and was there till 8:30 am (3 hours) The first red flag is when they gave me a urine cup with no wipe and without a label with my name. They asked me to put my cup in a bin with somebody else's specimen. I said 'doesn't my cup need a label so it doesn't get mixed up with somebody elses? This ER is completely inefficient, zero system, unorganized. For the pain I was in they ordered me Motrin - after I said my pain level was a 10 (and I've given birth) I have Motrin at home! When I said I needed something stronger they said ok we'll have to put in a new order to the pharmacy. Two hours later I finally got a pain shot. It really felt like the nurses couldn't care less, taking their time, shooting the breeze with other colleagues in the hallways. I am so glad I switched to Kaiser and I will never come here again. This place doesn't care. You feel that. The absolute worst. read more

I just want to say the biggest THANK YOU! to an amazing team of professionals who helped me and cared for me during the scariest time of my life! Especially to nurses, who were so attentive and kind during the days I was in a hospital. I read couple of reviews and were amazed by how many of them are about little, insignificant things, like a blanket, food or staff was not friendly enough.. This is not Ritz-Carlton, people! Let's get some perspective - they are saving our lives here! They work hard. They are tired. But still, they do the best they can. And once they done helping you and discharge you - then you can go to a good restaurant and sleep on a silky pillow:) Why would someone flood the page with one-star reviews about pillows and food is beyond me. Ok, the rant is over, I just want to add that everyone was so compassionate and kind to me, gently woke me up at night for all my treatments and blood works and even took notice about my food preferences (I don't eat meat and dairy), so I got meals with fish, vegetables and soy milks and yogurts. Plus, they allowed outside food, so I had my sweets and favorite tea, which made my stay as comfortable as possible in that situation. So again, I thank everyone who is working so hard to help people during their worst times! You are amazing! p.s. Brought some flowers to my wonderful day and night nurses after I fully recovered. I had no qualms to have Dr Scott Lee as my ortho surgeon of choice from the other 2 that I had previously seen before to perform spinal surgery on me last June 14, 2024. It was the very poor quality of care and service that makes my head spin. No amenity welcome kit. I have to ask for a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, lotion, extra cup, etc: When I asked for a face towel, I was given a bunch of towels stuff inside a pillowcase placed on my bed next to my head. Beddings and hospital gown was not changed on a daily basis. I was informed on the second night that the pharmacy was out on one of my prescription meds that I take 3x a day. Before I went for my surgery I called my insurance and was reassured that my plan covered unlimited medically hospital stays. On my second night I was told that I will be discharge the next day, a Sunday without Dr Lee seeing or checking on me. I told the nurse I was still in intense pain and having a hard time going and getting out of bed but was flatly ignored. I even asked if any of them had talked to Dr Lee and what his reason was for my early discharge and I got a cold shoulder. The late evening arrival of my walker was my - "saving grace" from early discharge. Monday, June 17th. . . feeling so filthy from the 3 nights with no any sponge bath from any of the staff I ask the nurse if she can watch me bathe before my discharge. She raised her voice and said. "me"? She told me it should be my physical therapist and not her. When my PT arrived I ask if she can and she told me it's the hospital responsibility not them. They were pointing fingers. The female CNA that day was nice to bathe me. My shoutout to her. Due to the stress and anxiety from what had happened during my hospital stay, the afternoon of the next day (June 18th) my incision had some bleeding/discharged that my husband had to drive me back to the hospital ER. Now I know why a relative of mine who works here bluntly told me, why not have my surgery at UCLA or Cedars. read more

Adventist Health Glendale likes to talk a big game about "patient care," but behind the scenes it's a toxic, hostile, and completely mismanaged environment. The culture here is one of favoritism, profiling, and intimidation. Instead of providing care, leadership (especially the Radiology Director) creates an environment where people are singled out, humiliated, and pushed out. It's a place where good people burn out, while management covers for bad behavior and pretends it's all about "safety." As a patient, you should know this: when staff are treated badly, patient care suffers. Rude, dismissive attitudes, constant gossip, and even discriminatory behavior happen right out in the open especially toward anyone who isn't Armenian or cliquish. Patients and families are openly rude, staff enable it, and leadership does nothing. Anyone who dares to speak up are punished, while those causing the problems stay. That should tell you everything you need to know about their priorities. The director cares more about appearances than substance. Instead of fostering professionalism, they tolerate (and sometimes encourages) an atmosphere where bullying, bias, and disrespect thrive. If you value respectful, compassionate care, look elsewhere. Security is also racist, unprofessional, and clearly lacking any training in how to treat people with basic human dignity. Instead of protecting patients and visitors, they go out of their way to profile and harass. Management turns a blind eye, and when concerns are raised, they're brushed aside like they never happened. Patients deserve better. Staff deserve better. Glendale Adventist needs to take a long hard look at its leadership because right now, it's failing everyone. The culture here is rotten from the top down. Bottom line: this place fails at basic respect. If you value fairness, equity, or professionalism, avoid at all costs. read more

I had a brutal episode of kidney stones and, against my better judgment, feeling kinda helpless I ended up here to "get treated." One of my former clients, I had always regarded GAMC as one of the best in LA. The waiting room was packed--about twenty people scattered around, including some guy passed out in the corner with a styrofoam container of Chinese food, its greasy scent thick in the air. When they finally called me back, I wasted no time asking the physician's assistant the real question: Do I actually need to be here, or should I just tough it out and go home? "No, you should definitely get checked out," she said. She was nice, frankly she seemed just as trapped as I was. Fine. So, in excruciating pain, I waddled back to my familiar chair and waited. About thirty minutes later, I got a CT scan--quick, maybe ten minutes max. And then? Nothing. Six hours of nothing. At some point, I passed out in my chair, slumped over in pain and exhaustion. When I finally felt a tap on my shoulder, I opened my eyes to a woman staring down at me. "Do you wanna pay?" I blinked. "Did you seriously just wake me up to ask if I want to pay?" She didn't even flinch, just stared back at me with these empty eyes, indifferent, like I was livestock. At that point, I was done. I walked over to the nurse and asked if we could wrap this up so I could go home. My pain was still there but had dulled from roaring to just faint misery. I was tired and now angry. By now, the waiting room was nearly empty. And yet, at no point had they offered me a bed or even a shred of human decency. Just "do you wanna pay"? And that's what gets me the most--American healthcare is expensive as hell, yet they treat you like an animal. It's like I'm paying a premium to stand in line at a welfare office. With the cost of this "care" I could have gotten a nice room at the Four Seasons and probably healed from just pure ambiance. Never again. Next time I'll go to Huntington Hospital, I might wait six hours but atleast I'll be treated like a human being. read more

Very unsafe so many weird people there . The chubby security guard was sleeping. With headphones (pretty sure glasses too) on east tower. I woke him up. And he got frustrated. Maybe dont hire weak security especially short tubby ones . This is truly dangerous these people are meant to protect us. Not sleep on the job. Im saying this cuz i entered the building without anyone confronting me practically snuck in .Not only that the environment of workers were rude and nasty. Worst hospital you can possibly go to they have 500 bed hospital and they say the ER and the rooms are full that is the biggest lie. More than half is empty they don't have doctors or nurses and the ones they have don't care this is my own experience of being admitted 2 times in December read more

Stay away form here. Do not go here if you want to be treated promptly. I was there from 4am to 10am and did not get anything out of the visit. This is not a 24 hour emergency room. They're open 24 hours, but you'll be waiting until nurses/technicians arrive (around 7am). Once they call you in, you'll have to explain your pain, then they have you wait for another hour until another technician will arrive and you'll have to explain yourself again. Every step takes about an hour to 2 hours in between. Take an X-ray, wait another hour, blood sample, another hour. They don't explain processes-they'll just stick you with a needle to take your blood without an explanation, try to stick you with a painkiller without consent/an explanation of what they're injecting you with. Then you'll look forward to a bill of $9,188.00 (says insurance covers -$6,721.00), and I'm still having to pay $2,467.00-not sure for what, because I was not diagnosed with anything and was told to just go see a cardiologist. That's not the $2,467 answer I want to hear. They do not care to treat their patients, and only interested in your money. Don't waste your time and money. Believe the 1 star reviews and find a better urgent care. read more
