I don't have many pictures of the beach but I do have pictures of my dog enjoying it!…read more After finding out about this beach months ago, I've been coming over pretty often! It's one of the cleanest, quietest beach near kapolei. That is not common to come by! Prior entering to the beach, you do have to drive to Kapalina Beach Homes (beach side apartment rentals) and go through security. Once you let security know you're heading to the beach, they'll grab a pic of your insurance car and license plate. I have had no issues entering this cute village. The beach is so spacious, you'll for sure find an area where you could be far from others. There were chairs and umbrellas that are set up for anyone's use. If you're feeling snacky, the D'lish at the beach is a great bar/grill that is reasonably priced. I've seen family have big patty's in the pavilion. Also have seen people use the multiple grills around the beach entrance. My favorite perk of the beach is that it's dog friendly! What a gem of a place to discover.

Even though we have done this excursion many times, there's always a twist. On our latest adventure, we got to see five monk seals, with two of them playing in the ocean like little puppies. We had a good group and had time to do extra things on this trip. Our guide, Tupre, made it a fun and interesting tour, throwing in historical and additional wildlife information. This experience solidified our decision to book Kailua Beach Adventures on our next trip to Oahu.

It's located across the street from Kailua Beach Park. You have to cart your own kayak from the rental shop to the beach shore where you'll meet your guide. We were in a group of six and one guide. They have single and double kayaks. The guided tour provides life vests, dry bags, snorkels, water bottles, and lunch. The trip to the island took us approximately 1.5 hours maybe a bit more to Kayak the 2.3 miles due to strong head winds. It was faster on the return trip. We even had time to stop on flat island. This is one of my favorite activities to do while on Oahu. I love the scenic views heading to the "Mokes" and I love the views looking toward Oahu while out on the water. It's such a magical kayaking adventure. The island is a bird sanctuary and if you go at the right time you'll see nesting birds and if you are lucky, you'll see the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. We saw three (maybe four, not sure if one was the same one that swam to a different spot) on Moku Nui and one on Popoi'a Island sandbar. If you are adventurous and have the stamina and strength to kayak, I highly recommend this tour for you! Our guide Two-pre was the best!!! He told us that the tour we were on was his 400th!!

MANA sunset cruise from Ko Olina - the absolute highlight of our trip!!!…read more We are no strangers to Catamaran excursions - trips in the British Virgin Islands, Greece, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. By far, Captain Travis and First Mate Taylor were exceptional, leaving no detail to chance. We were warmly greeted with a drink and were given a very thorough safety briefing. Both were meticulous in their duties to their craft as well as to their guests. The catamaran was immaculate, an outstanding demonstration of the care and maintenance it receives - impressive for a 2008 Cat. Thanks MANA and crews for your care and concern. We had only 5 of us aboard ( they allow a maximum of only 6) which really enhanced the experience. As we got underway drinks were served and then came what I thought was going to be a sampling of local snacks. No, it was a full dinner made by Taylor that was some of the freshest, best food we have had on the Island, followed by a dessert second to none. The other guests dietary restrictions were taken into consideration and we sailed (and for a portion of the trip we were under full sail & not motoring) around with soft Hawaiian reggae playing. The two hours flew by.... We were regaled with stories of the Islands and some very interesting facts. Sure there are less expensive, far more crowded sunset tours... but NOTHING compares to this one. It was worth every cent. When we return we will have already booked this trip before we board our again! Do yourself a favor, splurge on a really personal Hawaiian experience and book this trip. You will be richly rewarded & have memories for years to come! There may be no traffic jams on the extra mile... but you will find on this excursion, Captain Travis & First Mate Taylor are on the extra mile & demonstrate what the extra mile should look like! A very important note - we recommend if you are coming from the Waikīkī area that you plan on leaving early and planning a light lunch at Ko Olina - the Monkeypod, or one of the restaurants in the hotels. The traffic leaving Waikiki in the afternoon is horrible in the afternoon and could take several hours to navigate to Ko Olina.

Everyone was so friendly and professional and kind. The boat is absolutely beautiful and it was perfect for our family who chartered it in order to do an ash scattering. The weather was gorgeous and we even got to see some dolphins on our way back. Overall, it was a perfect experience and I'll definitely recommend them to anyone who would love to splurge a bit and go out on the water in a beautiful boat. I hope to someday get to rent with them again.

great spot for the beach if you're on this side of the island!…read more It might be a little troublesome to get into the beach access since you need to check in with the guard and show paperwork, but it's well worth it because the beaches are so much cleaner and less crowded. What's the name of this beach??? Kapilina Beach? Because it's located in the Kapilina Beach Home…read morecommunity? Iroquois Beach? Because it's located in Iroquois Point in Ewa Beach? In any case, this is not a beach that you happen to find as you explore the island. You have to WANT to come here and can be a PAIN to get to. First, it's located at the furthest end of Ewa Beach - a 40 minute drive from downtown Honolulu. Second, while it is technically a public beach, it is only accessible via a guarded/gated community (Kapilina Beach Homes), which means you need to show your driver's license, car registration and insurance at the security gate. Third, the area is patrolled by military police (as it is government land) who are not shy about pulling you over if you are not strictly following the road rules. Anyway, your best bet is to befriend someone who lives here. Then you can park close to the beach (versus visitor parking) and can have access to the other beach amenities (cabanas, beach chairs, umbrellas, bbq grills, etc.) The beach itself is quiet and uncrowded. Great view of the airport and Pearl Harbor so you can watch the planes come and go. The sand quality is pretty coarse - definitely not the best. Certain areas are dog friendly (on leash). Other areas allow fishing. Check out the D'lish snack bar for food, drink and live music (in the evenings). Pretty much a private beach for those living in the community and a hidden gem for the rest of the island.
