William is the BEST dog walker and boarder that I have ever used! He not only cares deeply for my two dogs, but he really helps with training. My two boys can be rambunctious and often pull on their leashes. WIlliam spent a lot of time helping them learn to not do that. Additionally, he is very good about last minute scheduling and communication. I've boarded my dogs with other individuals who fail to let me know how my boys are doing, which is really hard for a dog-mom! But William sent updates and photos of their fun times, which is great! I wish I could give more than just 5 stars, 5 doesn't do my dog training lessons and what I've learned justice. I have a crazy one year old Siberian husky who wouldn't listen to me when I would take her walking or hiking...she would constantly pull, get distracted very easily and wouldn't come when I called her. William was great with my dog he definitely knows what he's doing in just a few minutes he got her to walk by his side without pulling and to listen, it was like I was looking at a completely different dog I never thought I'd see the day! He even got my two dogs to get along! I thought they always hated each other because they would always fight I was seriously amazed. I wish there were 5 more stars that I could add to this review. I found William on Yelp, I read the review and loved what I saw. It was a bit of an emergency, I was about to embark on a few long shoot days with no one to take out my anti-social, best friend. I had always shied away from walkers in the past but, when I needed help, I turned to Yelp, and then to William. So I thought, well this is worth a shot. I called, I left a voicemail explaining my situation called back within a few minutes and let me know that he was with dogs and could'nt speak but he would call later and not to worry, we could work something out. William met with me and my pup that night after a day out with the dogs. I described the many personality traits and quirks of my best friend. William assured me that he could handle her and not to worry. I mentioned that she was dog agressive.. that I usually walk her on a correction collar.. that we train at Blue Collar with Tanya who's badass and says that my BFF is not feeling too confident in me as her pack leader.. ugh.. Still he said, he wasnt concerned and he was sure he could take her out. I was calmed by his cool demeanor, his knowledge and understanding of dog training and the fact that they would be going on hike rather than on a regular walk around the 'ol hood.. Three days in a row I counted on William. I got really great photos of my ADD BFF actually interacting, well walking with, other dogs! I am so happy that someone like William is in LA. it's great to know that the person who is taking your dog out is actually interested and able to take care of them, understand them and protect them. My husband and I adopted Pliny about 4 months ago and quickly learned we needed help exercising her on days we are both out of the house. A walk in the morning and evening was not going to cut it! She also really needed socialization. We tried doggy daycare but her energy was mistaken for aggression and we were asked to not come back. I found William on Yelp and emailed him to give him the whole embarrassing background on Pliny in daycare and he was still open to meeting her. He has worked with all kinds of dogs and did not shy away from a high-energy Pit mix. He felt she would work well with his morning hiking group (usually has 5 or 6 dogs) and recommended that for us. William picks Pliny up between 8:30 and 9 in the morning and brings her back a couple hours later completely worn out. He usually takes them to an area that has somewhere they can run off leash for a while. He also works with Pliny and her on-leash training which has helped a lot. Added bonus: He will send you the cutest pictures of your dog you have ever seen! True action shots! If you are considering William I would also recommend checking out his instagram @adventuredogla where he posts pictures from his adventures. Will is amazing. I'm paranoid and super protective about letting anyone walk or take care of my dog but I trust Will 100%. He's so good with her, really affectionate and careful and really aware of her mood and behavior...and my mood! I often need him last minute and he always comes through. I've counted on him so many times and I honestly don't know what I'd do without him! I've had other dog walkers in the past and really no one compares to Will. He has an amazing energy, sense of humor and enthusiasm that makes me totally trust that my do is in good hands and that he'll get my back in a pinch. He also sends the most amazing pictures. My little Boston Terrier, Brando, has always been a sweet dog. But around the time he turned 5 he started becoming a little bit aggressive towards some other dogs. I started feeling nervous about bringing Brando to the dog park or letting him sniff other dogs on walks. I have a crazy schedule and needed to find someone who could not only walk Brando while I was at work but also help him play nicely with other dogs again. William assured me that he could work with Brando so that I would feel comfortable letting him play with other pups again. He offered to meet Brando during a free consultation. I scheduled one for a week later, and he came over and spent about a half hour assessing Brando's personality and training needs. He told me he would start out walking and leash training Brando solo until he felt confident that Brando could be around dogs, then he would slowly introduce Brando to his own dogs to help him socialize. About a month and half later Brando was going on park visits and hikes with lots of other dogs. (He also walks much much better on a leash). I am so impressed with William's dedication to Brando. I've been working with William for just under a year now and I absolutely couldn't be happier. Hands down, best money I've ever spent on my dog. I have a 9-year-old Aussie who is very obedient, but exhibits a lot of behavioral problems. From the start, William listened well and recognized what I already knew about dog behavior, while gently encouraging change when/where I was wrong. We had a long phone call and a productive first session, which actually ran long without any comment from him regarding exceeding time. I am 75 years old and own a Hungarian Vizsla. Puma is a fantastic dog, but would always pull me on the leash and it was very difficult for me to walk him at all as he would potentially pull me over and i was worried about falling. My boyfriend and I have been on the lookout for a dog walker for months. Our dog is our little hairy furry child and we are really picky with who is able to handle her and who we trust. She is a pitbull with tons of energy who loves a good hike. We went away for a long weekend and after meeting with William, were completely smitten! He gladly came to our house to meet with us and instantly gave off a great vibe. He is on it. Truly! My dogs and I are so so lucky to have found Will. I have two dogs who pulled endlessly on leash, lunged at other dogs and humans, and just would not listen. I was deathly afraid that some incident would happen and I would lose them because I could not control them. I met with him a few days later and implemented his teachings. The difference of just one session was almost miraculous. I honestly don't know how to praise William enough in review. I relocated from UK to LA with my 2-3 year old Jack Russell Gary February 2012, and since then the changes in my little man have been un-believable. I was struggling to cope and getting very frustrated with him I am ashamed to say, but Will came in and has taught both of us some very valued skills so we can get along better. Gary still has attitude and charisma but he is much, much calmer and more obedient. Gary was very aggressive with other dogs, and especially on his lead (leash) which is now 95% resolved... he has learned basic commands that I found impossible to teach him such as sit, lie down and stay. And he can walk to a heel. When you hire Will to walk your pooch you are hiring so much more than a dog walker, he trains and cares for your dog with 110% commitment and dedication, you will also get regular picture updates of them out on their adventures. I have also attended one of his Runyon Canyon walks... well I walked, Will ran around like a mad man and Gary and everyone else on the trip including myself where exhausted by the end. I'd recommend anyone who wants to go along on any of the walks does as there is NO better way to learn about training your dog for when your by yourself. So all in all Will gets 11/10 he is an amazing guy... not just professionally but I consider him to be one of my very cherished friends here. We trust him entirely... he always goes above and beyond. William is amazing! My husband and I were moving from a house in Hollywood to an apartment Pasadena with our 4 year old lab/pit mix, Iggy Pup. Me and my wife are first time dog owners of a Siberian Husky puppy. We started to look for a trainer to help with some immediate problems we were having, but also someone for continuing training and support throughout our dogs life. We found William here on Yelp, saw his great reviews, and decided to give him a call........best decision we could have possibly made! After speaking with him for only a few minutes, it was clear to me his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm was exactly what we were looking for. I set up our first session to address our puppies incessant crying at all hours of the night and into the wee hours of the morning(we were losing our minds). After our session, that night the crying had completely stopped, and did not return once!!! During that initial session he also answered a whole list of questions we had for him, and showed us some great techniques for training while at the same time developing a strong bond with our newest family member. Our most recent session was focused mainly on starting to teach our now 5 month old puppy to walk with us properly. I had been having problems with him pulling, and nothing I was trying seemed to work. This was causing me some serious frustration, and I don't think me or my new buddy were enjoying our walks very much. I had an uncontrollable, super aggressive 140 pound German Shepherd. I researched Dog trainers in my area and saw that Adventure Dog LA has the best ratings - 5 star. So i hired William - because: I had issues walking my 140 lb dog - who pulled so hard while I walked him - I felt like my arm was going to come out of its socket. I could not walk him anymore.... Also - if I took him to the Dog Park - he got so aggressive - he actually chased people, chased other dogs and he would get right next to the people and growl and show his teeth. He was even more aggressive with dogs.The people were so scared they all just stood still - the activity in the park came to a halt. I once took him to the Dogie Beach in Long Beach and he was so wild and aggressive I had to hold him down and I couldn't get him to stop barking and growling and trying to go after people and other dogs - I had to leave right away. I could not take him for walks or be by any other dogs. So I called William of Adventure Dog LA for HELP ! He came - took the dog for a walk - and in less than 20 minutes he asked me to come outside and I saw my dog was walking with him - with no tension on the lease. He was walking right beside him! To say I was amazed would be an understatement. William then taught me how to walk him and what to do if he pulls me forward. I can easily walk him and I can't believe the change. Dogie Park visits - Now he walks by me all around the park with no lease and I have no issues with him. Other Dogs and people can come up to him with no problem. The transformation is incredible - without any BS - I feel that I have a new dog . The training is over - but I have William come pick my dog up every Sunday morning - and he arrives with his SUV filled up with other dogs - usually 3 other dogs - and off they go to a very nice dogie park in the hills and they go on that Dogie Adventure - with NO leash on at all. William is a true "dog whisperer". He is great at reading their actions and behaviors and really composes the confidence so that the dogs he has trust him as their pack leader. I had my dog, Rupert (German Shepherd/Pit mix), go on a couple of adventures with William and his friends and he always came back tired and happy. I loved getting the text messages and pictures of Rupert romping in the wild with his other packmates, truly enjoying his natural surroundings. I was a bit hesitant of letting Rupert off leash and also mistook some of his past behaviors as aggressive, but William insisted he could take him on, and sure enough, he did and he had a great time! William assessed that Rupert wasn't aggressive, he just needed someone to be a better "pack leader" for him to feel safe. With some of his tips, I am trying to be just that for Rupes. I sought out William because he had good reviews on yelp and because he was very local! I've worked with 2 previous dog trainers in my life, and William was a good find! I want my dog to be a therapy dog, but knew my dog needed more obedience training. When I first met William, he was very friendly, personable, and professional. He informed me of how I could change my lifestyle to adapt more to my dog's needs, in a way that didn't make me feel bad or judged. After having 2 private sessions with him, I feel more confident in knowing what to work on so I can train my dog. William tries to make you more independent in training your dog, so you're not relying on him. The best part about William? I feel he really partners with the client's goals in an enthusiastic and supportive way. After I told him about my goal in making my dog into therapy dog, I would get pictures of suggestions and courses that he saw and pass them to me. He even attended the pet therapy course with me and will wait till I take the pet evaluation so he can enroll his dog and we can do it together! Really nice to have a dog trainer partner with you with your goals and walk step by step (but not super hand holding) throughout the way. I've felt discouraged about my dogs training in the past, and William is really encouraging to only bounce back something positive about my training. Again, I think William is a good find. William is a LEGEND in our house and our dogs LOVE him! We first contacted him for help with our 2 Aussies who were having dog aggression (growling/lunging) and issues with walks (pulling/over-excitement). We'd had some training for these issues with another trainer but it was a really bad fit, so we were relieved when William said he thought he could help! When we first spoke, we had a fantastic, in-depth conversation over the phone about our particular breed of dog, what we were looking for, and what he thought would be the best way to tackle our problems. He was kind, friendly, and very positive. His technique of allowing the dogs complete control but correcting them when they make bad choices sounded like exactly what our smart Aussies needed. I felt immediately at ease and was very confident that our meeting with him would be productive and positive for all involved. William also let me know that he grew up in a rural setting with dogs very similar to ours so I knew we could trust him to give our intelligent and active dogs the care and attention they needed. When we met him at our house, he brought along two other dogs that he works with and it was AMAZING to see how in control he was with them. They were off leash but ready to listen and react to whatever he, as the pack leader, dictated. It was great to see him demonstrate his technique with other dogs so that we could visualize what the goal would be with our dogs. The rest of the meeting was spent introducing the dogs to each other, first on neutral territory and then in our backyard, and through it all, my husband and I felt calm and confident that everything would be ok. William taught us his "biting" technique for when the dogs make a bad choice and, by the end of the session, our Aussies had warmed up to the new dogs with no problems. It was fantastic. After that, we knew we could never let William go! Haha! He got our dogs into different packs for Adventure Hikes and dog-park visits each week and made sure to introduce them to lots of different dogs. I got to go to the dog park with him on one of these visits (something I was nervous about because of previous bad experiences) and it was completely FINE! The Aussies were at ease, even with me there, and having a great time! It was AWESOME. Now, the dogs go on an adventure with William once a week and it's fantastic. He sends us great videos with updates on how the dogs are doing and truly gorgeous photos of the happy pack at the end of every hike. I truly can't believe how fortunate we were to find William. He has changed our lives and changed the lives of our dogs. They are happier, more content, less stressed, healthier, and they're finally making dog friends. We no longer have issues with aggression and I am so glad we were able to fix the problem in a positive way, without the use of a muzzle. My husband and I LOVE our dogs and, like all good dog parents, we just want to let our dogs live the happiest, most fulfilling life they can. With William, they absolutely will. read more

Why doesn't Yelp offer more stars? I NEED MORE STARS!! This is easily a 10 star service. I have a 9 month old Doberman puppy with more energy than any 12 normal dogs, and I don't mind telling you, I needed some help getting some of that crazy atomic energy out in order to minimize the destruction of my personal property (and sanity). This is not anything as banal as a dog walking service. You are sending your most treasured companion on epic adventures where they will get to BE DOGS - a luxury rarely afforded the suburban pup these days - and all without mom and/or dad spoiling their fun. My dog is better behaved and very, very happy. She responds to William better than any of the excruciatingly expensive dog trainers I have hired, and comes home with improved manners and a calm attitude. I am thrilled. Life is good. William loves dogs, and if my fuzz-ball is a judge of anything, dogs love him. I first contacted William when I was looking to get a dog. He spent a lot of time talking with me, followed up with texts over more than a month, and ultimately came up with the perfect breed of dog for me. All before even meeting me! When I finally found my sweet rescue (of the breed he had suggested), I knew whom to call. So far, I've asked William to help me with training. What I like about his approach is that it's so kind to the furry guy, and clear to the owner. I feel like he's basically training me how to train Gizmo, and we both end up so very happy. Gizmo is learning so quickly as a consequence, which is fun to watch. William also has this dog whisperer quality to him. I'm sure he can deal with anything dog. William follows up constantly. When I'll need boarding or dog-walking, he's the first one I'll call. I know Gizmo will be safe with him. Phew! Thank G-d for Yelp and Adventure Dog LA!! read more
