After using app-based walk and pet-sitting services, we wanted something more personal for our fur babies - we wanted them to see the same people on a regular basis, and to know that there were professionals who were watching out for their well-being with the same concern as us....we found that and more in The Long Leash. The love they get each day in the form of walks, pets, love and attention priceless, but then you add in The Long Leash special touches and it's beyond incredible: -after each visit, your walker will send personalized messages (with photos!) to you describing your angel's antics and actions (they are eagerly awaited by us everyday, and we promptly forward them to members of our family around the country who now love The Long Leash walkers as much as we do!) -we went on an extended vacation during which our walkers visited multiple times a day (messages after each visit, of course), and upon our return found a "welcome home" bouquet of flowers from our pets (our walkers). Adorable. -on rainy days, our walker takes our dog outside but then brings her in out of the rain to play brain games - she literally comes prepared with indoor fun to entertain and engage our angels even when they can't go outside! -they are experts at special requests and seem to love them and view them as a chance to know your pet better. -last but not least, our walker watches our pets' behavior as if they were her own, and notes any changes in appearance, and any new physical bumps or oddities that may be concerning, and any changes in behavior that we should look out for. On the first day of the scheduled walk my dog did not want to have his leash put on and even growled and showed his teeth to gabby. She was so kind and patient with him!! She spent 1 hour trying to get him to walk with her... she truly loves what she does and it shows!! He eventually got acclimated to her and now he loves her!! He can't hold his pee/poo for too long nowadays because of his age and he likes to eat small meals X3 a day. Keeping him locked in my new house all day would stress him out or have him barking all day disturbing my housemates. At first, I thought of placing him with my vet's office for boarding. But, I noticed they kept him caged for long periods of time. And, he would return to me very anxious and stressed. At his advanced age, I really want to reduce ang unnecessary anxiety or stress on him. On recommendation of a friend, I tried St Tropawz and I am so so grateful to Patrick and his staff of caretakers. They have been trusted caretakers for my elderly Topoli. They are patient with his quirks of eating small meals and comforting him during his bouts of anxiety looking for me. They also allow him to regularly roam their very spacious and cute yard + play space. Although, at his age, he usually just likes to nap in his comfort kennel all day. I used Sitter4Paws pet sitting services for two weeks while I was out of town on a cruise to Hawaii. Initially, I was apprehensive about leaving my two kitties alone for that length of time, as they are both pretty needy and affectionate as cats go and I had never been away from them for that long. Moreover, being on a cruise, I would be unreachable by phone most of the time. However, after meeting with Ray, our primary sitter, for a consultation, I was very much put at ease. He explained how he would keep in touch with me (via email) and their schedule for visiting the cats (a two hour window around the time your pet usually eats). He also sent me an email showing me Sitter4 Paws' online portal for both the sitter and pet parent to provide information about the cats, lockbox, etc. to each other. My cats also seemed to like Ray right away, which was a good sign. I would check my email each day and see how the cats were doing. I was very pleasantly surprised that Ray, and a few other sitters who would visit the cats at times, sent a very detailed email after each visit, letting me know how the cats were doing and what happened during the visit - what the cats ate, if they made any messes, and if they had played with the sitter. They also attached many photos, including of their scooped litter boxes, of the cats eating, and the cats playing. I can't say how much I appreciated being able to quickly read an email, see that everything was fine, and have peace of mind to continue my vacation with no hassle. When I returned, my cats were happy, well-fed, and the apartment was just as I left it. Plus, the sitters checked my mail each day and left it in a neat pile on my dining room table. Although I didn't need it, Ray also offered to water any house plants if needed. They truly went above and beyond to offer a great service. I highly recommend this service to anyone needing professional, quality, detail-oriented pet sitters. Your pets will be in good hands. read more

If you need peace of mind while you are away or unable to be with your fuzzy child, then you need help from Sitter4Paws. You can meet your sitter even before you sign up for services. The meet and greet visit was especially nice so Chodi could see who would be visiting her. Jessica and Trina visit Chodi often, doing her eye care, giving her lunch, and of course rubbing her tummy and scratching her ears. They spend quality time with her, and I know she looks forward to their visits. They are able to work with dogs with health challenges. Finally! A pet sitting service I can trust! I've tried a few different pet sitting services in the past, but Sitter4Paws SGV is by far the best. Autumn and their team are impeccable! They make me feel at ease when I'm away at work from my dogs all day. They follow my instructions perfectly and they let me know everything they did along with cute pics! The sitters are great with my dogs and my dogs love them! They really love what they do and it shows :) Great price for excellent service! My husband and I found Sitter4Paws through yelp a few months ago and they have really made our lives easier! One of my dogs is a senior and needs to be given medication daily. While researching other walking companies I found on average a 9- 15 additional fee just to add two pills in a treat! So far they have sent three different sitters to our house and each one was great! Our pups look happy on their walks and the best part of our day is receiving their updates while we are at work. Autumn and Ray are awesome! They take such good care of Bentley, my english bulldog. They walk and feed him twice a day, and I always get prompt updates. Terrible experience. First, they rescheduled day-of TWICE due to a groomer no-showing. The actual…read moreappointment ended up being a week later than it was initially supposed to be. First red flag, but we were polite and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt; maybe it was just unluckiness on their part. We finally dropped our cat off today, only for them to call us to pick her up less than an hour later for extremely flimsy reasons--apparently, our cat was unhappy ("spicy") and swiped a few times--AFTER her nails had already been cut, thus there were no sharp claws or any blood drawn. Just some soft paw swipes. Seriously? Our cat is literally a RAGDOLL who's all bark (or meow) and no bite whatsoever--probably the EASIEST breed to work with. I highly doubt most cats are perfect angels at the groomer, so why send her home for a few swipes and general grumpiness? I reiterate that our cat was NOT having an anxiety attack or running rampant/drawing blood with her claws. She was simply exhibiting normal, "unhappy at the groomer" cat behavior. Honestly, it seems like they were just shorthanded (apparently, our scheduled original groomer no-showed again today lol) and needed an excuse to send our cat home ASAP. We noted that there was at least one other cat there, judging by the distressed meows, but only one available groomer. So they took the path of least resistance and didn't even TRY to accommodate our cat. Just sent her home at the first sign of discomfort. They probably figured that since we were so nice about the previous reschedules, we wouldn't make a fuss about this either. It feels pretty bad to take hours out of our week to schedule (and repeatedly reschedule) this appointment, only to have it canceled day-of within a single hour. And they STILL charged us $20 for only the nail trim after giving up without doing ANYTHING else. We could have easily trimmed her nails at home, for free, without making the 45-minute round trip twice (again to reiterate, she is a Ragdoll. Trimming her nails is nothing). Overall, they were so, so, so unprofessional and disappointing. Seriously expected better based on the other reviews. Maybe the good groomers were the bo-shows or something because all we got in the end was disappointment, a few wasted hours, and a wholly ungroomed cat. And we paid $20 for it too. Lol.

At this point, it had been over a week since sending my first request and I needed a dog walker like the next day...I quickly had to search another company and it was a pain in the butt.... Since my first email over a year ago, Shannon has been wonderful in providing a multitude of…read moreservices for our ever-growing family of dogs (and cats). Since Pasadena can be pretty hot in the summers, we had Shannon coming to our house every weekday around 12:30pm to play with our new pug puppy Dexter and put him in his crate in the nice air conditioned house. We got photos of him almost every day with what could only be described as an ear to ear smile (see photo). As summer came and went we decided that Dexter would be fine in the backyard all day. She totally understood and told us if we ever needed anything to shoot her a text. We do have one off requests for her to come over and check on the dog, usually without very much notice and she is happy to help us out. She has even stopped by to check on my uber-independant cats while we have been away. We have sent Dexter to stay with her and her pooch over the weekend a couple times and he comes back so tired from playing and we know he had a good time. Samantha has watched Dexter a few times too and he is a happy camper when he comes home and is the best cuddle pug ever because his is all tuckered out form having a blast. We recently went on a trip to Seattle and had Andrew stay at our house for a few days while we were gone. He is awesome! We got daily photos, and texts giving us a summary of the day's events with each dog and cat. I cannot recommend them enough, they have been such a huge help in raising Dexter to be an upstanding little pughead and I don't know if i could have done it without them.
