I had no idea about the gondolas til I saw a flier at our hotel lobby. I only read Google reviews & many complained about the price. We ordered our tickets online & didn't care for the activities. Adult price $84 (and something new is guests can have unlimited rides up/ down) through tour the day!). We grabbed a Gondola ride & $30 lunch voucher $110. Absolutely worth the price. Yes, food is pricey up there, but- I think it's expected. I didn't read anything about bringing your own food. There are tables & chairs near Tamarack Lodge. The $30 voucher worked perfect for me. A cup of Mac & Cheese & a cup of Chili (cornbread included) is $9.74 each. I snagged some oyster crackers & bottled water. Since I grabbed an Angry Orchard can- I came out of pocket $13. It was a way to start July 1st off. We enjoyed the clear summer skies sitting outside. Some of the tables had an umbrella. Jenga is provided on some tables and corn hole is near by. The Observation Deck is highest elevation at 9735 ft & Tamarack Lodge/ final stop is 9150 ft. There are some trails to walk along at both stops and bathrooms are spacious. Gift shop at Observation Deck & Cafe Bleu. If you wanna get a pick of the Heavenly signage- walk immediately to the left when you get off the gondola and walk towards the first set of stairs. You'll see it below with corn hole & some chairs to take in the view. If you bought your tickets online, you do NOT need to fill out the paper waivers at the ticket window. You can also proceed to a separate line designated for online purchases. There is a ticket booth at the top level for activities if you'd like to purchase as well. Opens at 11:30am.

Instead of a great view of High Desert and the Eastern Sierras in Gardnerville, I was treated to an Alpine environment and a bit of a Lake View. The folks at the front desk were welcoming and knowing that this was not my home Douglas County gym, gave me the key bathroom and exercise machines directions with a smile. I like Garnerville better as the machines are newer and there's more room. The equipment is also better spaced and more conducive to occasional conversation and moving around. At the same time, I found what I needed here at Kahle, made the necessary weight adjustments, and had a fine workout. I even stayed a little longer to try out some of the variations and have a nice chat with a guy in a t.u. shirt. Kahle remains a good choice if I happen to be in the neighborhood. And now that I know my way around this building better, it will be easier to make the effort and show up.

The group can only access this beach with the shuttle & tour group so make sure to read everything in the email. The clear kayaking is done at Sand Harbor which was absolutely gorgeous. All of the guides we met and interacted with were super cool, nice, and helpful. Using a clear kayak is particularly cool when you go over rocks and boulders in the lake. The kayaking was not too strenuous and I would definitely recommend for beginners like myself. It is a bit more pricey to do the clear kayak tours as opposed to renting a regular kayak so it's something to consider, but by doing the tour I got to see a part of the lake I had never been to (and is a bit harder to get to) and also got instructions and tips for kayaking. We thought the tour would go a little farther/longer too but it was still cool. Kayaks are available as singles or doubles with weight limits so be sure to take that into account when booking. It was late July when we went so the weather was nice and warm. We wore swim shorts and dry fit shirts with UV protection. Our legs got a little wet from water splashing off the paddle but it felt great. They do lend you dry bags to use if you have any items you want to keep on you while kayaking. I did use the dry bag for my sunscreen, water bottle, wallet/fanny pack. They also said we could leave belongings in their life jacket van at the beach, which some people chose to do. I would recommend packing light though. I am glad we booked this adventure. I think after going with a tour group now I feel more confident to rent a kayak and head out without a tour next time I visit Tahoe.

Then we found Sports Ltd., and man, it was a game-changer. They've got a huge selection of snowboard boots. Jack helped us out, and this guy knows his stuff. He took the time to get my boyfriend into the perfect boots and even checked in the back for last year's models to save us some cash. Didn't push anything, just gave us honest, solid help. If you're in Tahoe and need legit gear, this is the spot. ASK FOR JACK!!!
