Katelyn is awesome. She is the director for this location and I just love her! My kids love her and even ask for her. She remembers my kids and remembers their names and to me it just takes customer service to that next level. I've gone to other locations and was not impressed but I actually feel super comfortable dropping off my kids here. My kids love it! I highly recommend this place. They also do a lot of arts and crafts with the kids which I love because it's not like I just drop them off and let the kids play on the little play scape thing or sit there and watch TV but they interact with them. read more

Yesterday was my son's 1st stay and we are extremely satisfied!!!!! We have NEVER allowed anyone other than my sister, my very close friend or my son's weekly babysitter watch/care for him. My Hubby and I are very cautious and were very, very apprehensive of trying a drop-in play care. I received two great reviews from a close friend and a co-worker and we were overdue a date night, so we decided to give it a try. So yesterday morning we stopped by for a tour. The young lady at the counter greeted us and was very knowledgeable, which is always a plus!! (Sidenote - her braids were very pretty). We took the tour and my little guy was ready to stay, so that made me feel really happy. I went home to register and make a reservation. The registration fee is $40 but they gave us a $10 off on-line code, so it was $30. It is annual fee so we won't have to pay the registration fee again until next year. The hourly rate (if you have paid the registration fee) is $9.50 plus tax. Later in the evening, we dropped him off. He walks through the gate, like he has been there before, and we have to call him back for a kiss and a hug. We have a great date night and head back to pick him up. We get there, he is still awake, and when he sees us, he runs away to go back and play. My baby boy had a big smile on his face and that put an even bigger smile in my heart!!! Every employee that we came in contact with was very friendly. My son had played with a little car for most of the night while he was there, so the lady gave it to him. I thought that was very sweet!!! My anxiety level has gone wayyyyyy down, thanks to Adventure Kids Katy!!! My son cried when it was time to leave!! My kids have been here twice. The first time was more than I could have hoped for. I was worried about my 2yr old having a melt down being in an unfamiliar place. I arrived early enough to check out the facility and give my daughter a chance to become acclimated. Natalie was perfect! She was very bubbly and interacted with my daughter so well that it only took about 30mins or so for my daughter to be comfortable enough to wave bye to me when I decided to leave. Natalie is just the person I was hoping for to leave a great 1st impression and she did. The 2nd time I was there with my kids, the girl at the front desk was not friendly or welcoming by any means. Can't recall her name (black girl) but she had ZERO intentions of showing the kids a good time. Luckily enough my daughter did not lose it when I left this time but I did not like the night and day appearances of this employee compared to Natalie. As with any childcare establishment, if you can't be upbeat and welcoming at all hours, you are in the wrong business! Anyone working with children should be trained to treat them as if they were there own! read more

I want to warn all the parents dropping their kids at this day care to think twice as i almost lost my child because of their negligence . I have a 7 year old autistic child that i used to drop off at this location . a few months ago i dropped him off at this daycare for a few hours and when i came back to pick him up he was missing and was later found sitting inside a bar a few miles away from the day care . None of the staff members were even aware that he was missing and surprisingly the day care had around 3 kids at that time so it wasn't even like they were under staffed . This incident was investigated by the Texas department of Family and protective services and the play care has been cited for violation of licensing standards as well which is a part of their permeant record as well . read more

I think this place is great for older children, not so much for infants. Needed emergent childcare as my mother, who normally watches my 10 month old daughter, got sick. I visited the location the night before I needed childcare around 8:30 PM on a Tuesday. They are located on the back side of the strip center, so the entrance is secluded and not visible from Westheimer Parkway. The people working the front desk have to open the door for you, so that made me feel better about the security. The girl at the front desk was friendly and answered all my questions, even the really intrusive ones about employee screening (drug testing, FBI checks, etc), and really made me feel comfortable asking. The infant room was good size, carpeted, and had lots of gear for infants. The lights were off when she took me back there to see it. I was told they clean every night, but a feeding chair was in the corner with dry, crumbled food all over it. Guess they hadn't got to the cleaning part of the night just yet. I was a little grossed out that the baby changing table was right next to the place where they prepare food and bottles. But I was told they clean the station after each diaper change. I was also told they check diapers every 15 minutes. It did not smell bad. Overall I felt it was an ok place for emergent childcare. The day I dropped off they were not going to allow me to go back with my daughter to drop her off. I was not OK with that, so the girl at the front told me she would just need to escort me back there. She was cordial, but not very friendly. The woman who took my daughter held her while I was still there so I could see how she reacted. She has never been in daycare so I was worried about her reaction. She didn't cry, and after about 10 minutes I left. When I picked up I paid first, then my daughter was brought up to the front. I was not allowed to go back and pick her up, maybe they would have let me if I had asked, I don't know. She had been there for almost 4 hours. She was stoic when she was brought up to the front. I was told she ate well. Her snack was relatively untouched, her sippy cup was dry, and her 6oz bottle still had 5 oz in it. Not sure what exactly she "ate well". There was one wet diaper change documented at 9:25AM. She was dropped off at 8:45 and picked up at 12:30. She was in a wet diaper when I picked her up. Overall she didn't have the demeanor of a baby that had a good time, but they kept her safe at a time when I needed childcare. Again, I think this place is great for older children but may just be a scary place for infants. read more

We have used Adventure Kids since we moved to Katy three years ago. It is difficult to not have any family close by and have kids at home so AK has been our go-to place for child care. The staff is wonderful and know my kids by name. My kids run right in and are always excited to play. We even use their summer camps which are more affordable than most camps in the area. My son was at Adventure Kids for before/after camp care this month. He seemed to have a great time! The front desk accommodated our schedule fluctuation, and communicating with them was easy. I rated 4 instead of 5 stars because their pricing is not as favorable as their closest competitor. However, the facility is nice. It seems very clean and Adventure Kids is full of fun play stations, including a climbing area, computer-based activities, dress up, and more. The wi-fi parents lounge next door seems like a great place for a work-from-home parent to have a place to concentrate while their kid(s) play with friends next door. And, because it's inside the facility, it feels more quiet and private than working at a coffee shop or library. Give them a try! read more

I don't know how many ways we can say that we love Adventure Kids. My boys love going there and think of it as a privilege. My husband and I love having the option to take them to play for a couple of hours while I run errands or go out for a quick date night while knowing they will be well cared for and will have a wonderful time. We've come to know the staff well and they know our boys and how to work with their different personalities. Our boys always get hugs and lots of love from all their favorites on the Play Crew and the manager. The manager and staff feel very much like family to us and it is such a comfort to have a place like this. Prior to finding them, we had very few options for convenient, worry-free childcare. We are so grateful we were referred to them by a friend and we now take advantage of their savings plan to get a 20% discount. We cut LOTS corners to make this happen because it is so worth it to our family. Thank you, Adventure Kids! My first time taking my daughter there was last weekend. She enjoyed it the staff was nice and welcoming, definitely going to return.

Zero stars. I was mislead by the Katy location that this center was clean, organized but took my son here for summer camp and I was not happy at all. Took him 3 times in hopes it would get better but as the dayss went by but got worse. Drop off was a mess. The kitchen was dirty, messy the food that was fed looked disgusting. Kids from all ages are all jammed together in the main play room which is very small. My son came hone telling me the last day that the bigger kids were being mean to him and jumping on him. I am living because he is 3 those could have been the age they accept which is 12. The staff that works there are girls from like high schools that do no even care what the kids are doing. They are all sitting around yawning. To make matters worse I paid in advance and is being denied a refund. read more

What a life saver this place is! When we had a huge problem with campuses being closed or fill in Fort Bend ISD because they didn't open enough campuses Adventure Kids Katy saved us! Their camps are themed and fun, it's indoor so we don't have to worry about the crazy dust causing air quality issues this summer or the extreme heat advisory. The facility is super clean and the staff is all extremely nice and very helpful. The facility isn't large so I do feel my child gets more supervision here. Providing meals also really helped out on busy mornings where we might have been running late and the dinners helped when we had to work late. We also love the later hours on the weekend, allowing us to once a month have a date night without kiddos. Prices are very reasonable especially for unplanned on the spot drop in day care. read more

I have a 5 year old and 2 year old that i take here occasionally when i need to get some work done. They absolutely love coming here and ask me all the time to come so they can play. Everytime they leave they tell me what new friends they have and always leave with some kind of craft. The girls that work here are so sweet and seem to love being with the kids. I always feel comfortable dropping them off and knowing that they are being cared for. They have a great selection for food options and snacks for them kids and activities planned daily. I would of replied earlier, but I just noticed this reply while making my yearly reviews . To the owner of Adventure Kids, Dana O. Wow really ! Very SHOCKED First of all me being Business Savvy, My first reaction to reading the review would be asking myself and my employees , Why am I not getting my messages? This person has been here 27 times this year ( so you say my Amex says 31 that just in 2013 , even more in 2012). This person spends over $40.00 a trip (thats a lot of change to miss out on) . They have been a member for two years, and visit other locations. What is going on , this is not the kind of customer I want to loose. I need to call them and get to the bottom of this " I would not of replied and thrown myself under the bus with remarks, instead I would have picked up that phone and tried to extinguish the problems. After all, every business needs money to succeed. Second of all , if my kid is a problem like you said he is and done the things you say he has ... why was he not been suspended? Not once was my son suspended EVER! You wrote yourself the rules . The other boy was several times. But you continued to let that kid that had been suspended supposedly many times to come back with abuse . So again your wrote the rules why was this kid back ? and third, My security guys, Fantastic Men! Hispanic and African american. My insurance guy, He is AWESOME! Hispanic My ENT, African American My Dr. African American My maids , Korean , Hispanic, African American- All I show a great deal of respect for. My best friends , 7 African American, 4 Vietnamese, 3 Hispanic , 3 Caucasians I love them all for being in my life. One must ask , who is turning this into a racial thing? Nothing I said was about color, gender , race etc. in my reviews or in conversation with the girls . I have even offered three of the girls (non being Caucasian) there 20$ an hour with a minimum of 2 hours to come to my house babysit . They worked very well with my son and I could use all the time off I can get. Thats a big difference from the 8.50 you pay them to watch all those children and run the front desk and try to feed everyone. ( prime example you get what you pay for) O but excuse me, Your making so much money you can afford to loose thousand dollar customers. I have a background of many nationalities. I find it very offensive you even bring this topic up. Needless to say I am HISPANIC. LOL need i say more? As far as you saying I have not left messages for you , you wrote yourself that I have called up there many times, if you knew, why didn't you call me back? My normally very shy 5-year-old went to Adventure Kids Katy for the first time yesterday. She was instantly greeted by smiles from the staff. She walked in without hesitation thanks to the wonderful employees. When I picked her up a few hours later she was ready to tell me about her adventure. When I had made my first review, I was an extremely upset parent. I still am that this had happened but, I have been in contact with the owner (who emailed me back the next day/afternoon, within literally minutes after I had made the first review. She had assured me that there was a breakdown of communication between staff members, and that the members involved were in tears after I left because what had happened and because they understood what could have happened. Also that they were given written warnings as well. Also that they take children who have food allergies very seriously, and have many who come into their care. In addition to all of that, she has made changes in their software to prompt all staff to know of the children who have severe allergies and require an epi-pen onsite. Which overall makes me feel a little better about Adventure Kids because when something goes south, the management do step in and take care of things. But on another note, my overall experience of that day was just terrifying Aside from all of that though, I do think this is a pretty neat place. I saw many kids come go in and were having a good time. My son even had a great time, and didn't want to leave, even though he was experiencing an allergic reaction, so based on how much he liked it vs how upset I was {rating it higher because of how much fun he had}, this is a pretty okay place. read more

Don't take your younger kids here. Staff is untrained - they can't properly feed babies, change diapers, or care for child. They are generally lacking in common sense and that's very dangerous. The owner is always absent and is nonresponsive. My child went without food for 7 hours and I had to get authorities involved. read more

So I'll start by saying, I'm not one to write negative reviews. I have had experience as a daycare worker and a personal nanny so i understand the job and how difficult it can be. I also get that my 4 year old can be tough. But with all of that said he did not make it through a single day without "incident" at this facility. Now I've had my son at another drop in daycare for a while and kept bringing him back on weekends to Adventure Kids. When i kept getting phone calls about my son being "mean" or exhibiting "dangerous" behavior i went in and spoke to the owner (i think? Every employee is listed as a manager or assistant manager) and she assured me that they wanted to keep him enrolled and keep working with him. Now that he's gone a total of 6 times (and i received a phone call every single time) and ive said enough is enough and want to switch to the other drop off daycare full time, suddenly they're telling us "well we're not ACTUALLY a daycare." You're not? What are you? You sure advertise like one and accept my money and registration fee like all the other daycares. But when it comes to safety and supervision like a daycare? Monitoring and redirection like a daycare? No. No i guess not.. Having read all the other reviews i can only guess the outcome for the "please reimburse my yearly costs" talk will pan out. But it's worth mentioning every other daycare my son has attended has said "though he's sometimes challenging, he's not malicious" and never, ever have i been called to pick him up for violent behavior. He asks all the time if we can stop going to the "daycare with the playplace". So yes, son. Today was your last day. read more

I use this as an occasional drop-off for my 2yo daughter & she loves it. I've never had any issues, the staff has always been exceptionally friendly, & my daughter is always returned to me clean, fed (they have regular snack times) and happy as a lark. They also have a discount for any Moxie Mom members, which is nice. This past spring I decided to try out Adventure Kids and boy was I ever pleased. (I wish they had been around when my 2 boys were younger!) There isn't one thing that I can actually complain about! The facility is always clean (maybe with a bit of glitter in the carpet!) and smells clean (big thing for me!). The staff is always friendly and willing to take on my spirited toddler. It takes such a huge weight off my shoulders to know that I can drop my kiddos off and run some errands and know that they are not only being well cared for, but that my kids LOVE going there. This is so handy to have as a parent and allows me to volunteer at my older sons school (where I can't bring little ones), attend meetings and get the occasional break! The staff are all very friendly and always make a point to tell me something awesome my child did while there! If the idea of a drop in daycare makes you nervous don't be. Sorry so long, but it gets good .. read on. I would give it NO stars if there was an option. I don't know about the facility as a drop off daycare, but I used them for a birthday party just recently and I came to find out they have the worst management I have encountered in a long time. The facility has numerous activities, machines, play areas and Karoke machine is one of them. Well, the day of the party, it was not working. I asked, did it just break now or what happened? The manager on duty at the time said, no it's been broken since I got hired in March so it could of been broken earlier than that. How can anyone let this machine go this long without fixing it?! I was upset so I didn't feel I should pay for the whole fee if this machine is broken (which is one of the big thing my girls were waiting for). I asked for a small discount and the manager on duty said she has to contact the "general or corporate manager" who by the way was not there or accessible if there was a problem . No answer when she "texted" her. Make a long store short, it took several days to get an answer and then when I did, I responded back and didn't get any more responses until I notified them that i had filed for a dispute with my cc company and the BBB. It has been about three weeks from issue date and she finally answered the email. I have the corresponding emails between myself and management if anyone wants to see them. I would love to show them so everyone can see my case versus their responses and you will what type of management is here. The "corporate" owner never responded which is never an acceptable way to do business. Please read other reviews about this place and if you are going to have a birthday party here, just be prepared that if any machines break, you are out of luck. They do not check if anything is working. They said I should have called and asked about the karoake machine and if I did, they would have checked. what?! I have to call and tell them to do their jobs? Also, another reviewer said on the day of her party, the place was CLOSED. OMG, thank god that did not happen to me. I wanted to contact this lady but didn't see an email address for her. Aside from this, they didn't have a party before me so the showed up at the place about 30 minutes before my guest were to arrive. I had to haul in and set up all my stuff for the party. Not sure if they cleaned the place the night before or not but they did not clean when they got there. The parent's lounge is a very nice addition to the place but behind the bar/counter .. there were boxes of junk /crafts and it was a mess. They should of had this cleaned prior to the party. I had to ask a staff member to clean up that area. I should not have to do that. There were also a few other areas that were not properly cleaned up .. like in the party room, they still had several baby high chairs against the wall. Uh .. they need to move it in the baby room or closet or something. read more

This is the first time we tried a drop-in center and we weren't impressed. I called ahead of time to make sure they knew our 13 month old was coming straight from his usual day care center and to make sure he would be fed dinner. They assured me that food would be served and they would make sure that my son would receive some. When we arrived to pick him up 2 hours later we had to ask 4 different people whether he was fed anything and it turns out no one fed him. I asked if they had given him any milk and they said their milk went sour so they sent someone out to get more but then forgot to give my son any. He was starving when we picked him up and he had a black eye. We used this as a trial run for an event that we can't take the baby to and now feel like we need to start all over looking for another place. Overall, we couldn't be more disappointed. Perhaps this place is good for older children, but I wouldn't recommend this place for children under the age of 3. read more
