Visiting from out of state with my children. This science center is better than others we've visited. The climbing structure is great for active kids. We came here after scoring tix for the Beautifca show. Show was like 45 mins and was a sold out show when we went on a Sunday. It was a James Hood production and it was very good. The music score fit the show while he narrated here and there. The CGI was great and the tech from the last time I was in a planetarium has gotten way better. Tix weren't very expensive and they offer a lot of other shows to see. The building is also a science museum that's great for kids . Will be back for another show! read more

When I first moved to Nashville, I was always curious about "that building that looks like the original Power Rangers Command Center"...and located just south of downtown, that building is the Adventure Science Center which turned out to be a family-focused, kid inspired, educational and interactive spot. Weirdly while families are the main audience here, I have been to a few events and experiences sans kids over the past few years from events to shows, but I have also brought my young nephews here for an afternoon of fun as well. My latest experience here was via the Sudekum Planetarium for a James Hood experiential showing of Beautifica. This was not my first time in the planetarium, so I was excited to get back in the seats and stare at the ceiling while sinking in my chair! When there are not scheduled experiences or shows in the planetarium, you can catch educational recordings as part of the standard center experience. Outside of the planetarium, there are two floors full of interactive and educational stations and exhibits. Everything is rooted in education, so it is really cool to learn the "behind the scenes" details about how so many things work. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Cleanliness is never an issue, as the staff stay on top of all areas from the parking lot to the exhibits and restrooms. Conditionally, some of the stations could use some TLC, and other areas could use a bit of updating. Parking is plentiful, even on event evenings. A few spots at the front, but most of time you will have to be in the lot across the street, which has easy access via crosswalk and stairs/ramp. Pricing is a bit of surprise with general admission set at $18 per kiddo and $22 per adult. And in the case of special events, such as Beautifica, tickets for just that start well above $30. Worth it for the experience and what they are offering for the littles, but sticker shock for sure. Overall, Adventure Science Center is a cool spot and I will continue to support however possible. read more

I don't think I truly experienced the value of the museum until I had a young child. This is honestly one of the best options for an indoor, rainy day activity on the weekend within the city. Often I have some neighboring events in Berry Hill or Chestnut Hill, so my partner will take our toddler here. There's plenty of parking, especially if you go in right as the museum opens on the weekend. With this strategy (of either arriving right on time or a few minutes before), we don't wait in line with a membership. There is a highly interactive play area for younger kids right in the middle of the museum, underneath the colorful indoor playground that extends two floors above. We spend most of our time on these two features, but our kid also really loves anything interactive here: the digestive system with foam balls as food you can toss into a mechanical mouth, build-your-own vehicles to learn about acceleration, and anything dinosaur related peppered throughout the building. For a young child, this is absolutely engaging and entertaining. I've head they have quite a few planetarium guided tours for adults as well during weekday evenings that have been a hit with my former colleagues. Highly recommend for young families on rainy days. read more

I was between a 4 and 5 star review - I'm leaving it as a 4 star review for now because at least when we went, it was a zoo - so many school field trips, etc, so it become harder for my younger kids (18 month and 3) to enjoy. Now there's the argument this is meant for older kids, so maybe my kids were the outliers, so take this with a grain of salt should you not agree with that review logic. read more

Generally it's a very busy place, specially over the weekends. Having a membership is paying for a long ride. Interacting with other children also improving social skills. The visit here I found to be very informational and interactive on some parts. Fun to experiment with and I thought the prices to be fairly worth it for the general admission. There's much to see here. Space, human body, animals, there's tons of variety on the three floors here. The third floor is just two things though but stilll fairly educational if you are looking for that. Oh yes, the show too. That was also good and a must-see as told on the ticket admission. What a fun, family-friendly spot! This is a great, hands-on option if you're looking for a place to bring visiting family or friends with children. My niece and nephew (both under 5-years-old) really enjoyed themselves, as did the rest of our group. The entry prices initially seem bit steep ($18 for kids ages 2-12, $22 for adults), but if you end up spending a few hours here, you'll get your money's worth. I'm also happy to support them as a local non-profit. There are several wonderful exhibits - our favorite was BodyQuest! I also love the beekeeping display on the third floor. We didn't get to check out the planetarium this time around, but I definitely want to next visit. I also love that they offer an adults-only night this summer called Camp Way Late. I'm grateful to have such a cool activity for all ages available in Nashville, and I would happily recommend the Adventure Science Center to locals and tourists alike. read more

Such a well laid out Science Center. We have been to several across the country and this was one of the best! Everything is spread out nicely so even though there were lots of people there, it didn't feel cramped and there was plenty to do without waiting in a line! Also, plenty of bathrooms throughout the facility which is always great with little ones! Very clean and all the staff was super sweet. The planetarium movies are a MUST if you are going! I took my children here when they were little, but received an invitation to a private event held here and was pleasantly surprised by all that was offered. A great spot for indoor fun with kids. Nothing for the tiny tots but a lot of hands on for the other kids. They have an indoor jungle Jim to help let off some energy and a place to eat that has a subway and yogurt spot. I highly recommend to add a "movie" , we chose "To worlds beyond". The theater has a screen that shows the film from the ceiling along with reclined seating. Lots of parking available. Stroller friendly. Place was clean. read more

I felt like a kid again... the exhibits here are such a blast. My niece and nephew had such a good time and walked away with huge smiles on their faces! I really enjoyed the space exhibit, being able to see the scale of all the different planets was fascinating. This probably a two or three hour experience depending on how long you spend in each area. There's a food court with a subway in case you get hungry, but you can also bring snacks in for the kiddos. Be sure to have the kids checkout the jungle gym on the top floor, it's a lot of fun. You'll most likely have to park across the street and walk over, unless you get super lucky, so bundle up if it's cold out. There's so much to love about this place and I'm glad Nashville has something like it. read more

Came here for our little ones fourth birthday and she had the most amazing time ever. There are so many different hands on activities and things to see. We got here around 1:30 and we stayed until closing. We were able to visit the planetarium and for the most part we made our way through the entire science center some areas we could've stayed a little longer, but we most definitely will be back. About a 20 minute car ride from the Gaylord Resort and Spa and about 10 minutes outside of downtown. Only about 1/4 the size of the Houston Children's Museum, so were somewhat disappointed. Also some of the displays were not working and we were told they were pretty old. They did have live science experiments (during our visit they were showing liquid nitrogen) and live animal interactions, which were cool. May not return, but was good to visit during our trip to Nashville. PRO PARENT TIP: AAA Members get a discount! They will also hold car seats, boosters, etc. at the front desk for you while you meander through the museum. read more

So this place have been here for a while now. I came here a long time ago, too long to remember details of it . This is an awesome place to bring the whole family for a field trip and let the kid inside come out. We came here yesterday as part of my son's birthday activities and we ended up getting the year membership! I'm so excited to bring him here as much as possible throughout the year. Just the playground alone is worth it for him. He got so excited when he was able to just run free! It's big enough for parents to go inside and play with the kids. They have different sections of learning experience that we really enjoyed. My son was so tickled by the fart sound where they show you and teach you about the digestive system. They had a big T-Rex that was his favorite. It moves and makes some noises. He was like "wow". They have so many things that we didn't have time for all so we are glad we go the membership. They give each child a gift from the gift shop on their birthdays so I'm excited to come here for our daughter's birthday too. She enjoyed all the bright colors and kids running around. She so wanted to be the one running too. They definitely need to fix and upgrade a few of their features and exhibits but for the most part everything work and we had a great experience. Such a great time! My 5 year old was enthralled by the music exhibit, particularly the one where you could pretend to play instruments. He also loved the human body exhibit and adventure tower. We thought the fossil and bee keeper exhibits would be bigger, but they were still interesting. The innovation garage was fun, but I feel like he'd have enjoyed it more if he was just a little older. Trey at the front desk was an absolute angel and deserves nothing but great fortune and prosperity. He put up with me and my friend exchanging, purchasing, and rescheduling with extreme patience and diligence while also teaching us valuable life lessons as he printed out our tickets, proving that not all heros wear capes; some wear wooden name tags and beautiful nose piercings. On the other hand, certain other aspects like the unclear age restrictions on attractions such as the planetarium were infuriating and disappointing. We turned away at the door after already purchasing and handing over the tickets, I wish this policy would have been more clear when purchasing tickets. I was not made aware that you cannot enter the planetarium without the company of an individual 16 years of age or older. I would like to shout out the Subway employees and general staff of the Science center for being both kind and extremely understanding. It is a great place for young kids. So this was our first time here and I am not sure what I was expecting from the name "science center" but I was not expecting it to be almost as bad as a Chuck E' Cheese or a kid zone where kids run free and lick windows. Although there was educational value where the other two places don't have any, the amount of unsupervised, undisciplined, obnoxious children running around like chickens with their heads cut off made the environment almost unbearable. Parents and chaperons (school groups) were failing to supervise the kids and keep them from acting insane. Some exhibits were non functioning, out of order, or missing parts that make them work properly. Even if Covid was a non-issue, I feel as if I would want to wash my kids hands at least 5 times after leaving. That thought that kids are germ magnets makes it worse when they are all sticking their hands on the "blood flow" water. Overall, there's potential, but changes need to be made. read more

Sad seeing so many bad reviews just because they enforce their mask policy. We had an amazing time here. I did at first feel it was overpriced but once we got inside and saw all the fun cool exhibits I quickly changed my mind. The planetarium show of video filmed inside the space station was amazing, and the moon walk exhibit was fun for even an adult like myself who did it so the youngest could do it again. We had a lot of fun facts to talk about on our way home. I do feel for people who wish they'd make exceptions for autistic children on the mask policy as the 6 year old is on the spectrum as well and needs lots of extra reminding to keep his on and was bummed that he couldn't go back into the planetarium show after it gave him a bit of a sensory overload but I can't fault a business for being one of the rare ones who try to strictly enforce a mask policy. It would be odd if a science museum completely ignored the science on the spread of covid. read more

We visited the Adventure Science Center on Friday afternoon as a group of four (three adults and one child) and it was such a cool experience. We purchased the tickets online 2 hours before arriving for 11 AM. They were flexible with the time, as we arrived a few minutes after 11 AM and were still able to come in. I think that they base it on capacity limits vs. being strict on the time you arrive, which I appreciated coming from Metro Atlanta, GA. There were a few field trips there during our visit, which was cool for us because it gave my son other kids to play with during his exploration time. Once inside, I could see that there were three floors of science-related entertainment and exhibits for toddler, preschool and elementary aged kids. The middle of the interior structure was set up like a large playground with slides and things to touch and climb on/in. The third floor portion of it had rope for climbing up high. I also liked that they had interactive virtual games. I had fun and learned a few things too. We did not purchase any add ons, but enjoyed the free 11:45 AM Live Science Show! It was very fun and interactive and the host did an amazing job keeping the kids engaged for the duration of the show while ensuring safety. I recommend visiting this Adventure Science Center if visiting Nashville with kids (age 3-9). They have toddler areas as well and a Subway restaurant with frozen yogurt options on the second floor which makes for an easy lunch. read more

When the option to go back to camp for a night presents itself you gotta take it. The event was so much fun, the planetarium show and song writing gave it a true camp feel. Turnip green being set up and doing a leather working class so you got to take home a craft , top tier camp quality. There were a lot of hands on activities here and lots of useful education for kids and even adults. This place is not as big as I thought it would be but big enough for my 4 year old. He particularly love building the cars and launching them, along with the music area and body quest. Actually he enjoyed everything here so no complaints. I thought admission was a bit pricy and of course the gift shop is overpriced. We ended up spending a little over 100$ on food, admission, and gift shop souvenirs. I was so disappointed by our trip here. This will be the first and last time we go to the science center. I expected more of a museum/learning center, but it felt more like a noisy play place/arcade. The atmosphere was so loud and chaotic, at one point my preschooler needed me to pick him because he was so overstimulated. Our kids liked the space display and the music center, but a lot of the interactive computer experiences weren't working. They need to work out the glitches. Also, the climbing center shown on google reviews no longer exists, which disappointed our kids. The staff was very friendly, but in the end my oldest said out of nowhere "It was fun, but I didn't really learn anything." So, won't be going again. read more
