I don't know where to begin with how wonderful our experience was with Pamela and the whole Adventures Croatia Team, and the amazing honeymoon we had. We essentially handed over the reigns, wanting to be surprised when we got there. Throughout the planning process Pamela and Mimi were always in touch filling us in on possible trip itineraries and allowing us to adjust to fit our preferences. Arriving in Dubrovnik we could not stop laughing hysterically with pure joy at the beautiful views from our room. We were told by Pamela that we had dinner reservations on the roof top of the Raddison Blu at sunset. When we arrived, I instantly burst into tears. Sitting on the terrace was a single table under twinkling fairy lights, covered in rose petals. I had never felt so special in my life, it was a scene straight out of "The Bachelor". We then proceeded to have the most delicious 7 course meal that had such variety, and our first taste of the amazing Croatian red wine, how could we top this!!! Oh but does Pamela know how to create magic! We topped off our first day with an amazing Game of Thrones Scavenger hunt/tour though Old Town, and then left the next day to board the boat. We spent a week on one of AC's privately chartered ships exploring the amazing Islands. Our accommodation on the boat, three course meals, and the staff were all fantastic. Each Island had something different to offer with exclusive experiences for our group. Pamela's knowledge of Croatia and her deeply personal realtinoships meant that our group got private access to many special places, including the Milos winery where we were gifted with their award winning olive oil, and a beautiful wine tasting at the Spanish Fortress above Hvar. Each day included swimming breaks on beautiful beaches, and enough time to ourselves to get lost on Brac and in the pirate town of Omis. There were optional activities that varied from exhilarating Zip lining & white water rafting, to a private olive oil tasting at a small family farm on Brac. We saw just enough that we can't wait to go back for more! Our second week of our honeymoon was spent exploring Spilt, one of my most favourite destinations, including a day trip to Imotski for a private cooking class learning how to make Peka! We felt so at home, like we were cooking with our long lost Croatian Grandmother! Again another hidden Gem, only Pamela and her team can offer.After non stop adventures, we had just enough down time at the most amazing resort in Šibenik. This was perfect for two honeymooners ;). Adventures Croatia only offers the best in luxery travel, and everything exceeded our expectaions. Our favourite stop was driving to Nacionalni park "Plitvička jezera". This truly is a natural wonder of the world. The B&B we stayed at was one of my favourite rooms, it was so cozy, and you felt like you were right in the middle of it. It was a short 10 min walk to the boats that take you to the lakes, which made exploring at our own pace ideal. I can't say enough about all of the special moments we had on our honeymoon and I could go on forever. What I would say, is trust Pamela and the team. She is a master at creating wonderful magical moments in travel, and she works so hard to scout out unique experiences that only her clients will have. Our two week trip to Croatia exceeded all expectations and we can't thank Adventures Croatia enough! Two days in Ljubljana was enough time to tour the castle and go to Bled. Plus, we were actually there the night that Slovenia beat Serbia for the basketball championship which had never been done and wasn't really planned. We then moved on to Rovinj with a stop at Predjama Castle and Postojna Caves. Both were fascinating and worth the drive. Rovinj was a quaint fishing village with beautiful sunsets. Hotel Adriatic was a small boutique hotel with a perfect location and great food.Our one day tour into Isteria for wine tasting and truffle hunting was one of our favorite days and not to be missed if you are in the area. Dinner at Barba Danilo is highly recommended even though you cannot walk and must take a taxi - the food is worth the taxi ride! My only regret of the trip - I wish we had spent one leisurely day exploring Rovinj rather than biking to Fazana, which ended up being a 20 mile bike ride through very challenging conditions and steep hills. Not the easy bike tour we were expecting. Next we were on to Zadar with a stop at Plitvice Lakes National Park - also not to be missed. Words cannot begin to describe the beauty of these lakes and waterfalls! Art Hotel Kalelarga in Zadar was another nice boutique hotel with a good location and great dinner at their terrace across the way. Our one day excursion to Pag Island was another highlight of the trip and included a tour of Lun Garden with olive trees over 1,000 years old and a stop at Gligora Cheese factory to taste the world famous "cheese from Pag". From Zadar we moved to Split which ended up being our favorite city of the trip. Although Split is the second largest city in Croatia, it has a small town feel if you stay within the walls of 'Old Town'. We loved the Hotel Palace Judita which is located right on one of the main piazzas - quaint with only 10 rooms, beautiful decor, perfect location and Andreja had us in hysterics our entire time there. We will never stay anywhere else if we return to Split. The Taste of Split walking tour is a great way to spend your first evening in Split. It gives you an opportunity to learn the history of the city while tasting local food and wines. And our excursion to Imotski to make Peka was a unique experience for sure. Our final destination was Hvar, The Hotel Amfora is a beautiful resort with amazing views and a nice multi-level pool. It was hard to get used to a large resort again after staying in our wonderful boutique hotels throughout Croatia but if you are going to Hvar, I would still recommend it. Our Hvar wine tour included dinner in the abandoned village of Malo Grablje - another unique experience that should not be missed. This entire amazing journey was arranged by Adventures Croatia. Every single driver and tour guide was punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and excited to share their culture and heritage. We are so glad we booked our trip through Adventures Croatia and hope to come back to Croatia again someday. read more

What an amazing trip! It was the very best trip we have ever taken in our lives! Adventures Croatia created a perfect "custom made" itinerary for our family. Every detail was perfect, right down to the transportation. Our hotels were spectacular. We stayed in 5 different hotels during our trip. Every hotel was beautifully decorated with updated, modern bathrooms. We could see that Adventures Croatia took great care in choosing accommodations, not only paying attention to the decor of the hotels, but with the locations as well. In Zagreb, Zadar, Split and Hvar, we were centrally located and could walk everywhere. And in Dubrovnik, we were away from the mobs of people in a beautiful resort setting. But we could still easily get into town. We were so pleasantly surprised that our private drivers were so professional and knowledgable. Especially on our longer journeys, we chatted with the drivers and learned so much about the fascinating Croatian history and its people. And the vans were so new, spacious and clean! I also loved how Adventures Croatia had a "contact person" in Croatia for us just in case we needed anything. When planning the trip, I hadn't wanted to set up a private guide for Zadar because my husband had family in that region and we wanted our time to be open. But after our exceptional tour guide in Zagreb, I called our contact in Croatia to see if we could set up a private tour of Zadar for the next day. Our contact said it was no problem and the private guide was added. I was so glad because Zadar was a history gem. And the guide again, was exceptional and so informative. Adventures Croatia gave us so much more than we could have imagined. They set up very authentic Croatian experiences as well. For example, our guide in Hvar took us to very small villages and drove us to see incredible views of Hvar town. Then we went to a charming winery. And finally he took us to a traditional Croatian dinner at a family estate. These are experiences we could never have planned or even known about on our own. In addition, on the trip, it was my daughter's 14th birthday. Adventures Croatia arranged for a beautiful cake and really made her birthday even more special. Adventures Croatia was superb. Information was detailed and absolutely no hitches in the itinerary. The guides they selected were excellent. The hotels were wonderful and Ines gave us recommendations for​ places to eat in each city. The itinerary was partly private touring and partly cruising on a small ship. It was a delightful mixture of nature and history. Working with Ines was a true pleasure and I highly recommend visiting Croatia with Adventures Croatia. Croatia should be on everyone's bucket list! Even during the trip when there were some issues with the ship, I communicated with Ines and she worked hard to straighten them out. However, I cannot recommend the ship M/S Stella Maris (Kompas Cruise). Their guides were disappointing after being with the guides Adventures Croatia selected. Our upgraded room had A/C issues for the first 2 days and was directly over the motor and generator--very noisy! Although I have been on several small ships (mega yachts to small river cruises) before, I have always upgraded the room and requested a room in the front of the ship to avoid the noise of the engine. The Stella Maris would not allow us to select a room and we were given the worst upgraded room on the ship. We would have been much better off to have a lower level (not upgraded) room that was in the front of the ship. Lesson learned: I will never go on another small ship without being able to select a room in advance. read more

I could not be happier with the custom trip Lisa planned for our family. Her recommendations for locations, excursions, restaurants were spot-on. We did most of the trip with a rental car and self-catering accommodations and were very pleased that Adventures Croatia could book us a trip that fit our budget. Also, the pre-departure advice was invaluable for us since we were traveling mainly without guides. Lisa went through all of the travel documents with me, providing maps and pictures to find our pick-up in Venice and our walk to get the rental car in Rovinj, how much time to allow to get to places, the need for the international driver's license and vignette for Slovenia (yes, we were asked for these at the border). Although we knew we wanted a base in Rovinj and a trip to Plitvice Lakes, several stand-out excursions were added at Lisa's suggestion: a private boat for 5 hours (Lim Channel, islands, swimming from the boat in a secluded cove, sunset from the water instead of the crowded waterfront in Rovinj); Karlič truffle plantation visit (tons of food and truffle hunting with their adorable dogs); and Matośevič winery (so glad we also booked a driver for this- we tried 10 wines there). Istria was a perfect location for us. The hill towns were like Tuscany without tour buses. I'm looking forward to seeing other parts Croatia, and will definitely use this agency again. read more

We had a wonderful visit to Croatia arranged by Pamela at Adventures Croatia. She knows the country so well and it sure showed in all of the arrangements she designed. Our trip included four days on land (Split and Dubrovnik) and seven days on a 35 passenger ship cruising from island to island just off the coast. All of the 11 or 12 days were well arranged and we did not have one hick-up at any time. Our tour guides for the land portion(there were four of us in a private car) were amazing and our drivers knew as much about the country as the guides. Their English was excellent and very knowledgeable but something I appreciated they were also very candid about their country. They were very open to discuss current events and the struggles of the young countries after their independence in 1990-95. The ship board cruise was just perfect. Fun fellow passengers, good food, excellent accommodations and well designed for seeing the islands of Croatia. We could not have asked for anything better. Pamela also arranged for amazing hotels and we appreciated both Plazza Heritage in the center of Split and Hotel More in Dubrovnik. They were both five star. My friend and I tried to arrange a Croatian vacation on our own using the internet. But with no knowledge of the country we ran into a brick wall. So we contacted Adventures Croatia for some help. Christy asked us some questions about our interests, budgets, mobility, etc, then took charge. She put together an outstanding itinerary at a very reasonable price and we accepted. She arranged our hotels, drivers, guides, and activities. It all went flawlessly. The hotels were all four star and perfectly situated to make the most of our time. The drivers and guides were all prompt, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. When we had questions in country, Dubravka was able to give us immediate answers. And the activities were great... some of which would never have occurred to us on our own, such as sea kayaking and truffle hunting. I went with a friend to Slovenia and Croatia earlier this fall and it was one of my best trips ever! Adventures Croatia certainly knows that area well and their overall planning -- such as arrangements for tour guides and itinerary was superb. My friend and I added an additional short stop to the itinerary while we were in Slovenia so that we could see the Lipica Stud Farm. Without blinking an eye, the local tour guide who had taken us to beautiful Lake Bled made all the arrangements. After Slovenia, we boarded a small ship (30 passengers maximum capacity) for a voyage down the Istrian Peninsula and then across the Adriatic Sea to the Dalmatian coast and its islands. It was heaven! Dubrovnik and the Bay of Kotor were our final stops. We were never rushed and could savor the experiences of each day. We saw so much of this extraordinarily beautiful country, without wasting time on mistakes we may have made on our own. If it weren't for one of our guides, I would not have found family roots and information. He went above and beyond to help me and we have remained in contact. Our 3 weeks in Croatia and Slovenia were about as perfect a vacation as you could ask for. Lisa Albert helped me figure out exactly what we'd enjoy most. Every city or small town was beautiful or interesting in its own way--we never felt we were seeing more of the same. Every day was a new surprise! Our guides and drivers were always professional and always charming. It's hard to say what we enjoyed most because as soon as you choose one thing you remember another that was equally wonderful. On the top of our list though is Split--you must do the Taste of Split tour--Rovinj, the Istrian hilltowns, Ljubljana and Lake Bled, and Plitvice Lakes. But then, the islands were lovely too, and there's no place quite like Dubrovnik. You will not regret booking a trip with Adventures Croatia--they do the work and you have the fun. read more

Because we wanted more than a tour that focused on hiking and/or biking we joined the Autumn in Croatia Tour and got the experience we were looking for. The guides were informative and helpful; the accommodations were excellent; the small group experience was wonderful and a nice change from traveling on our own for an extended period.
