I decided to take my husband to their ER as I have only had positive experiences and vibes whenever I have driven past. I'm so glad I chose this hospital. Given the severity of our situation, they got him in right away. We did not expect a worst case scenario but the way they handled it was with the utmost knowledge, professionalism and doing everything they could within their capabilities. We were quickly transferred to their NCCU dept where their neuro speciality team has been nothing but amazing given the extremities of the situation we were (are) in. It's barely been a few days and there has been so much done so much improvement and I am so impressed by their superpower capabilities. Dr. Bowvis is a top doctor. I am very understanding and compassionate for seniors still working but the lady working front desk needs a position that is not as demanding. So much went wrong. I called to verify they were open and she placed me on hold for 5 minutes just to let me know they were open. A nurse/medical assistant stated to her while I was in line that the wait time is nearing 90 minutes. She recommended that I go to the Niles location but when I called them they had the same 90 wait time so I stayed. I completed registration forms on their iPad. I wanted to verify my place in line and she took 4 minutes locating me, asked some questions and was all over the place and still couldn't locate info but told me to have a seat. Their policy is quite interesting....they accept walk ins but if someone is more traumatic then u will get dumped or if they have an appointment. I completed registration forms at 10:42a per message sent to me; I didn't get seen til after 12:45p. Patience was definitely needed. The medical assistant and medical provider were nice ladies, did their job. I was able to obtain a copy of the forms they had to submit to my job. The lady at the front desk questioned how I got a copy, told her to schedule me for follow up and work on her speed there and took papers with me. I hope I never have another work injury and if I do I will go to the hospital instead.

Nurse was good except she did some tests that seemed completely unrelated to Dr Rod had excellent interpersonal skills/bedside manner. I actually got seen 22 minutes earlier than the original projection. I drove a mile past NCH immediate care to get here because of its bad reviews and I am so glad I drove the extra mile! Exam rooms are very clean, look new too. Plenty of space and extra seats for parents that bring kids.

I also don't really understand how looking inside an ear virtually is supposed to be better than an in-person examination. He told me it felt like he had strep so I wanted to get him in for a strep culture right away since he's leaving for camp this next weekend. Unfortunately, our pediatrician was fully booked for the day so I looked for options for a pediatric immediate care. Admittedly I was a little worried about the negative reviews on Yelp, but figured how hard could a strep culture be. And it ended up being a positive experience. I booked the first appointment of the day online, which was for 10am. I hoped this would prevent us from sitting in a waiting room with a bunch of sick kids on a Monday morning. When we got there we were the only people there. Hurray! I filled out the paperwork on my phone (relatively easy) and then we were called back to see the nurse and then nurse practitioner. The nurse took his temp, vitals and strep test. 10 min later the NP walked in and pronounced him strep free! She said it looked like a cold and gave us some recommendations (rest, fluids, inhaler for his asthma, etc). The whole thing took about 30 min from when we first walked into the office. They are open until 10pm, but told me their Morton Grove office is open until midnight which is good to know since those sick scares often happen late at night.

I was on the phone with them for over 30 minutes and they couldn't find an appointment after 5:00 on the weekdays or a weekend appointment with a female provider in the North side of Chicago area/Northwest Subs. -How could this office not take primary care checkups during the weekends?! -They do not respect patient privacy. I have been left in the room alone and a nurse left the screen open! I saw what other people came to see the doctor for- names and all,so I assume that the same was done for my information! If I was so inclined, I could have done some clicking around! - Plan on waiting in the lobby, on average for me it's a realistic 20 minutes. I was forgotten about once all together. - The Doctor only cares to get you in and out. On two occasions when I requested a longer visit to address concerns, I had 8 MINUTES with the doctor and no questions answered! - The nurse will ask you what you are here for and type it in the computer, but the doctor didn't address them. - I asked for a complete lab workup, and I guess that comes up to about 5 tests.. - I asked for the numbers from those tests and I have yet to receive them, it's been over a month. I'm sorry but "your labs are fine" relayed by god knows who doesn't work for me. I work for the VA and the care given to the patients exceeds this on a bad day by strides.

Dr. Gillis is amazing, he takes plenty of time to explain things thoroughly and clearly has a wealth of knowledge. Dr. Bergeson is great, and Dr. Puls is efficient. He has a different personality. Some like it, some may not. The nurses and office staff are great, they always try to make our child feel happy and safe, though he's usually grumping at them over shots or whatever we were in there for that day. The phone system is different now, they have a triage option for calls needing same-day attention, and they also have options for routine appointments. I've had them call me back well after business hours for non-urgent matters, so I know they take their jobs seriously and they stay until every need has been met. Our family is completely satisfied with this practice and with their staff!
