The wait time is horrendous. The staff is friendly. The billing is ridiculous, so be prepared to ask if there's a charge for anything they recommend. I came in to get tested for a flu and they asked if I wanted some ibuprofen. I said sure and didn't think anything of it. Later I was billed $50 for "medication". I contested it, but they said that was part of my consent to be seen. I don't necessarily blame the staff, but I do question everything that is offered now. Glass of water? How much? Use the bathroom? How much? Are the masks complementary? Do I have to pay for the paper sheet that I sat on in the exam room? If it's not an emergency, I'd recommend you come here. You will be treated nicely and get into a room quickly, but after the initial vitals, prepare to wait. And buyer beware, make sure you don't accept any treatment without asking the cost. Dr Aquisa Abrar was ok, but the communication is off. I went and got lab work done and instead of calling me back with results I had to hawk them down and make an appointment to get the results. After my appointment her care team contacted me after the appointment. Medication wise, she's not registered so I had hawk them down again to get another nurse to send the medication, (she's aware of the issue as well). My final straw was I inbox them about medication needed and never got a respond and it's been over four days now. So, I switch providers that can communicate better. read more

I'm from out of state and my ear starting hurting badly. I went to urgent care in Algonquin. Dr said I ruptured my ear drum and gave me a prescription. When I got home I visited my Dr and she said I did not ruptured my eardrum, that I had a bad ear infection. The ER sent me two separate bills, one for the Dr and one for the Hospital/building. they charged me for doing something in both my ears, which is false, When I went in, not once did the staff tell me that the hospital will bill me separately than the Dr. The total of both bills came to about $1500 and all the nurse did was flush my one ear. The Dr. then looked in it and checked my other ear and gave me a prescription. This is such a scam, you're basically double billed, charged for services that never happened and given a wrong diagnosis. What a sad state of affairs our health care system is in today. Next time I'll go to a clinic in Jewel or Meijer, at least they have reasonable pricing. read more

Was charged $800 (in 2 separate charges) for a 10 minute visit with a nurse practitioner for an eye infection that obviously just required some antibiotic eye drops. No tests - not even for Covid, wasn't even asked about Covid systems even tho a few months ago that's all anyone cared about. Front desk employees are great!! Usually they have good doctors and I would recommend people coming here. If you should happen to have come across Nadia Malik DO as your doctor you're not going to get any help. She is the worst doctor I have seen there in about 20 years I have gone there. I will not return there because of her. How do you say I can't prescribe you anything. I can't send you for any tests. I can't excuse you anytime off of work as I'm not your primary care doctor. What I can do for you is offer you crutches for you to use at work to help you move around. What company allows someone that works on their feet daily to work with crutches? Only primary care doctors can request any testing. I know that is a lie as I have had tests done there by the urgent care doctors. Then she says you should do strengthening exercises. You should go on YouTube there are videos. She only offered to bring me a sheet with those exercises on it as I said really so on top of you doing nothing and telling me what I came in knowing already to help your going to have go to YouTube to treat myself. Wow, harsh reviews so far. While I have no experience with the Immediate Care portion of this doctor's office, both my husband & I have been here for medical attention by the fabulous Dr. Wayne Carlson. I will only speak for myself, however. While I normally shy away from the doctor's office unless I'm on the verge of losing a limb or bleeding out, I decided (after dealing with a sore wrist/thumb for over a week) that I should probably bite the bullet and find a family doctor around our new home (and by "new" I mean that we've been here for almost 2 years and have never found a doctor). After doing the responsible thing & checking out doctors on our insurance page (and then tirelessly reading reviews about their care & bedside manner), I finally settled on Dr. Carlson. I called the office & the receptionist that I spoke to was super helpful. I mentioned my symptoms in as much detail as I could & then also said that I am 22 weeks pregnant. She stopped me & suggested I call my OB to get the all clear to see a general practitioner before making the appointment (oh the things a first time mom has no clue about). So I took her advice, got the ok & called right back. I was able to get in to see the doctor the same day, which kind of shocked me. Usually doctors are booked solid for at least as long as it takes for me to feel better (and then feel like I wasted my money seeing them in the first place). Plus 1 for Sherman, indeed. The facility itself is very clean & still seems new (not sure when it was built). They offer an immediate care facility as well as physical therapy & doctor services (maybe other stuff too, but this is all I'm familiar with so far), sort of a one stop shop for medical needs (unless you need to go to the ER, that is). Everyone that I spoke with from the receptionist who checked me in and gave me a few papers to fill out to the nurse who checked my vitals to the doctor himself made me feel very welcome and comforted. The doctor checked me out, diagnosed me & then gave me some treatment options that weren't too scary or institutional (paraffin baths for De Quervain's sounded WAY better than a cortisone shot, which even he said wasn't a fun option). Dr. Carlson kept it light, joking about the size of the needle for a cortisone shot & reassured me that even HE (who also has De Quervain's from an old trucking accident when he was in the Arctic Circle) opted out of that shot in favor of splinting and paraffin baths. I was in & out in less than 30 mins & I never felt rushed or pushed into something that I didn't want. Most people don't love going to see the doctor, but I sure am glad that I found an office that I don't mind going to. Who knows, maybe I'll even get checked out a little more regularly instead of sucking it up and hoping that my limbs don't fall off first. read more

Once again, they succeeded in disappointing me. My husband had a tooth infection and the dentist was closed and he needed antibiotics. We came here with our son and upon the doctor seeing my husband in his blue collar work clothes, he assumed he was only there for painkillers. We were treated like junkies and scolded by the doctor like it was an after-school special. I am appalled that they have employees like this. They haven't heard the last of me. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I will NEVER go back to this facility or other Advocate facilities. The charges they bill for do not reflect the care that is given. I am so disappointed with every aspect of the care that was given to myself and son on two different occasions. Went here late at night close to the time this place was supposed to close.. the day before my high school graduation, at this time I was having extreme migraines that I could not control. The staff was very short with me, not taking anything I was saying seriously, asking me math questions.. who does that? I can't even do math when I don't have a headache.. anyways, after that rude encounter another doctor/nurse came in and told me to pull down my pants and lay on my stomach on the bed, I asked her why and she told me she was as giving me a shot in my butt cheek.. they did not inform me what kind of medicine was being given to me other than "it's going to help the headache" I don't even know what they gave me but it was so awful. The medicine made me dizzy and my head felt even heavier than before and the medicine literally gave me more of a painful headache to the extent of curling into a ball in my bed trying not to throw up. Really bad, been here several times for immediate care and what a joke. Expect to wait at LEAST 2-4 hours. Even if its not busy. All to just see a doctor for no longer than the amount of time it takes him to write you a prescription. This is not "immediate care".
