Just suggesting why Kratom, which is a safe leaf botanical, is not even considered. Suboxone destroys teeth, I understand if people need MAT but Kratom is an alternative to think about. But always speak with vendors that do quality testing. Do not by from gas stations or smoke shops. You'll get the junk at the bottom of the barrel. Educate yourself. read more

If I was able to give this REALLY F***ED UP place a no star I would.first of all the entire staff ESPECIALLY the GIRLS that do nothing but sit on there lazy ASSES instead of doing there jobs such as assisting the PATIENT/CUSTOMER.therebwas another patient there that went to get his daily dose and his counselor kept telling him to get a job and that would be very beneficial to his recovery he finally landed a job monday-friday job (construction field) he went in on his lunch to get his dose and the uneducated,worthless girls that work at the front desk AGAIN doing nothing told him he had to wait (1) hour before he was able to get his DAILY DOSE of methadone.at ANY other given time those girls Don't do a dam thing wait I take that back while sitting there they do manage to stuff food into there mouths which is not polite let alone DISGUSTING,so he waited his hour that CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS that sit there and do nothing except try to find ways to punish GROWN ADULTS that are trying extremely hard to get there lives back on track then to make things worse The MANAGER/WARDEN came flying out of her office raising her voice saying if you don't like I can send you where I sent DOUG MAXWELL violating the HIPPA LAW because she was in the LOBBY with approximately 4-5 other individuals that were NOT involved in this particular situation DEBBIE the manager used to be a FRIENDLY,CARING, type of person I don't know what happened maybe the position of Manager has gone to her head or it may be just to much for her.when she did kick DOUG MAXWELL out of Ageis according to DOUG MAXWELL he says that was the best thing that has ever happened to him the other place is VERY PROFESSIONAL, EXTREMELY FRIENDLY,and most importantly they will go out of there way to help you and guide you through ANY DIFFICULT time you maybe having at that particular time,they will even stay a few extra minutes like 10-15 minutes so that a patient won't miss there Dose unlike AGEIS that at one time on a SUNDAY (4) patients showed up at EXACTLY 8:59 the doors were locked and the one correctional officer/ front Desk girl was sitting on her ASS and not willing to open the door for those (4) patients could get there dose,yes they waited to the last minute but when ur trying to kick what ever your trying to kick there WILL be days that you DO NOT want to get moving I can GUARANTEE you that those GIRLS that do nothing but sit on there ASSES and stuff food into there mouths have NOT been trained in IF in fact they have been trained in that field they should be RETRAINED.The only good news I can put into this NIGHTMARE of a letter which I am DAM SURE of AGEIS COULD REALLY CARELESS ABOUT I spoken to a few of AGEIS patients that I have run into and told them of my NEW DOSING FACILITY and how much they take care of the patients as well as professional they are SINCERELY A FORMER IRRITATED PATIENT NOW A VERY HAPPY PATIENT AWAY FROM AGEIS AT A NEW PROFESSIONAL FACILITY P.S.MAYBE YOU PEOPLE AT AGEIS SHOULD CONSIDER TAKING SOME TRAINING FROM MY NEW LO-CATION read more

Unprofessional and rude. My husband went here 3 times and was promised someone would call him to set up help for him, yet we've heard nothing. This is still going on, and we have not received assistance from them. Their "management" sounds like a young teenage girl who was completely disinterested and had no idea what she was doing, then she interrupted me and threatened to hang up. This place is what it is...its a Methadone clinic. If you have a need for this place than lets face it, you probably haven't been making the best choices in life and maybe its time that you let some people help you with your problems. Now for some people, methadone is not the route you want to go. If that is the case than no, this place is not for you. But if you were like me and tried everything else and needed something that would help you so you dont have to check in somewhere and miss work...this place is good. Another thing for me is I know I needed to be on some type of alternative for a WHILE that would allow me to live a somewhat normal life and put some time between me and my addiction. I was one of the hopeless cases that kept going back and methadone when taken at a high enough dose, creates a blocking effect that doesn't let you get high. Now I have been going here for a while and was lucky enough to find a counselor that I absolutely LOVE.I know that they have my best interest at heart when I see them and that they genuinely care about my recovery and wonder how Im doing and that really helps. I would say that all things are subject to opinion so this is a place that really needs to fit your needs. For me it works. I have been clean now for almost 6 years( I did 3 years at another clinic in Hawaii) and I am on the taper schedule to get me out of treatment in about a year or so. Slow and steady as she goes...thats the only way. Especially when dealing with something that is literally trying to kill you. Think about it, it could be the one thing that saves your life. I have been a drug addict off and on for most of life... I moved here from southeast in a small town and have always been surrounded by narcotic pain relievers... My weight has fluctuated a lot and I've slept pretty hard subsequently I have really bad back pain and ended up getting prescription of my own for Norco and percocet... Long story short, one pill every 6 hours... Turned into four months later over 10 pills every single day, going here has really given me hope! With this as well as everything else in life. One must take ownership of their own actions, and work the program to their benefit... I am currently doing a 21 day detox where they're going to establish my comfort level as far as what milligram of dose to give me, for a reasonable amount of time... And been decreasing daily only 5 milligrams each day until I will be "hopefully to God" Off of all painkillers!!! Theres plenty staff, counselors, etc... And they really seem to be working to help you, you never have to wait a very long time to get dosed... They also do their best to find any thing they can refer you to, at all for a meeting, individual counseling, group counseling! Come on, if you have a problem just admit it to yourself like I did... They can't help you unless you admit that you have a problem as they are not "pain management"... read more

I went to Aegis for 6 months and never gave a dirty test. The law allows us to get a takehome dose for every 90 days cleans and a holiday take home after 1 month clean. My counselor denied any takehomes at all for me, even on Christmas when I went to visit my mother I had to go to another Aegis and get a courtesy dose. they really had me in tears that day as I followed all rules and they couldn't have asked for a better client. Finally I was fed up and made an appointment at Western Pacific In Ventura and changed clinics and within a month I started getting takehomes and they even gave me credit for the time I was at Aegis so I got 2 extra takehomes. I am talking about the Aegis in Oxnard, it is run like a Nazi camp and I felt humiliated by the way I was treated there. the counselors at Western Pacific are caring and will work with you and let me tell you changing clinics was the best thing I ever did. read more

To begin with I first heard of Aegis when I moved from another city to here, i was expecting the typical run around and lack of help I was used to at other similar establishments but let me say from the ,minute I walked in I felt so welcome!!!! All of the employees from the front window to the manager go above and beyond to help you in any way they can. As I said before when I first walked through the front door I was a little nervous but that was quickly alleviated by the front desk employee who took me aside and walked me through the entire process and was there if I had any questions no matter how basic I thought they might be. This is a clinic that truly cares about helping and meeting you at what ever point you may be at. If you need services outside of the clinic's scope of practice they will sit with you and provide referrals for what ever services you may need. The groups are amazing and the counselors are well trained and truly enjoy the job they do. The manager of the clinic is a wonderful caring woman, she does whatever she can to support and help out the clients. She clearly goes above and beyond her job requirements and I am truly thankful to have had her as part of my recovery. I would highly recommend this business to anyone who is in need of the services they offer. This clinic and the excellent intelligent staff have given me the tools necessary for me to save my life, which aegis has definitely saved my life and has me back as a functioning member of society. I am truly thankful for my experience at Aegis as I have never been to a better and more caring treatment center. It is sad but they have a need to keep you on, not help get you off. Bring your will-power and anything can work though. But then why would you need them. read more

Despite the idea that methadone clinics want to get you hooked on methadone indefinitely(which may or may not have truth to it), Aegis in Simi Valley has legitimately caring staff and counselors who really take a personal interest in your life and your sobriety from street drugs. The front office staff are sweet and friendly, and the LVN administering your daily dose is great! The counselors are also insightful and really listen to you when you're talking to them. Even the clinic manager, who despite coming off as detached and aloof, makes herself available to everyone who needs to speak with her. Overall this place really is great, and they change lives everyday, mine included. I would definitely recommend anyone struggling with addiction to check this place out, it can and will save your life if you immerse yourself fully in the program. read more
