This doctor is awful. Her bedside manner the worst my daughter has a TBI due to pneumonia that causes encephalitis. This doctor had the audacity to tell me you can't get a TBI this way. My daughter worked with one of the top infectious disease doctors Dr. John Chia who diagnosed my daughter. She also was at the acute rehab with Doctor Sheety Who diagnosed my daughter with this. Unfortunately, this arrogant doctor did not take the time to read her patient's chart. She decided to belittle me. Telling me you can't get a TBI that way. Unreal completely uneducated in this field .What a complete idiot! We had a virtual phone call. She made us wait an hour for it. She's rude uninformed and should not be practicing medicine. Look for a different doctor and don't waste your time. After having three visits with her and being frustrated after every appointment, we have decided to fire this doctor.By reading all her other reviews, I see that most people feel the same way about her. She is approachable and you can feel she's dedicated to her patients. She listens to her patients' opinions and makes sure to put your health on a healthy path she will guide you on what proper treatment is good for you. When it comes to health Dr. Yoon is there for heartfelt advice. She follows up on her patients' condition and welfare. Her calmness and warmth help relieve your worries. The nurse is nice and kind and concerned for added treatment. The appointment people are very knowledgeable and give us patients time to choose and think. This lady is awful. Her beside manner is terrible and she does not listen to her patients. I was her patient for 4 years. Things started changing in my body and I started asking her about perimenopause. Her response was that I was too young. She sent me to get my hormone levels tested and that doesn't say anything considering it consistently fluctuates and she had no prior test to compare to. Some time went by and I started having hot flashes and night sweats and still she would not listen to me! And being a female doctor-how is this real life?!? I was in shock, but that quickly shifted to anger when she tried to tell me I was just having a mental break down! I was having a host of new things happen as a result of being in full blown perimenopause and she kept telling me I am wrong. I finally filed a grievance(something I have never done before)-to which of course they responded by saying she "followed procedure"-which was NOT what I filed about but are we surprised they won't take accountability?I had to surrender to the fact that she will just keep being a crap doctor to other women and my best was to let it go...until I remembered about yelp! So here I am, warning all of you to get a different doctor in that office. There are plenty who are way better than her, that will listen to you and treat you with some dignity rather than tell you you're just crazy. read more

I didn't find Dr Yoon to be very personable or friendly. I went once for an annual physical and to establish myself with a new Primary Care after moving to the area. After the initial appointment I decided I was not going to go back. I see she has mixed reviews on Yelp. So she might be some people's cup of tea, but for me I like my PCP to be personable and explain things more thoroughly. read more

Dr Aeree Yoon is the BEST doctor my family has ever met! She is very caring, knowledgeable, and extremely detailed with the patients' progress and history (these are qualities you would definitely want in your physician but are surprisingly not very common, at least in the South Bay). I highly recommend Dr Yoon! Her staff is also always so cheerful and polite. Parking is free and spacious. read more

I went to Dr Yoon for a new patient physical. She then decided to bill me for a diagnostic after ME telling HER what was wrong. What is "diagnostic" about that? I see Dr. Yoon at her San Pedro office. She is effective, prompt and easy going. My numbers have all gone down significantly, ever since Dr. Yoon put me on a new medication (that the military would not cover). My blood pressure went down also. She is attentive and easy to talk with. She is not only effective, easy going, but also responsive. She would respond to my questions within hours (sometimes minutes). I don't think my husband and I ask for much when it comes to doctors. We just want someone who knows what they're doing and listens to us. Is that too much to ask for? Apparently it is because we have dealt with so many rude doctors who blatantly cut us off and don't listen to us. Long story short, we went to see Dr. Yoon for the first time last week and she literally spent thirty minutes listening to us and examining my husband. I went to Dr. Yoon because my primary doctor was not available. After getting my vitals check, I waited 40 minutes to see her. Once she came in the room, she was cold, short, and acted as though I did something wrong. I would not recommend her. NO BEDSIDE MANNER!!! read more

Before I became Dr. Yoon's patient, I used to change primary care doctors quite a bit. Sometimes it was due to logistics, either the doctor moved his/her practice to a different city, or I did. But sometimes, it was because the doctor fell short of the one quality I require from my caretakers (besides being competent) - that is communication. She listens to my concerns, and instead of a flat yes or no answer, she will explain why - and that is something I appreciate a lot. Needless to say, when Dr. Yoon changed the location of her practice to a new city, instead of finding a new primary care physician, I followed her to her new practice location. read more

Dr Yoon cannot be relied upon. Although as a primary dr she is somewhat average, she has a tendency to neglect or disregard her patients. When bringing up health concerns she dismisses their severity and I need to seek a second opinion from a doctor that will take me seriously and diagnose. She is also never timely with giving referrals or reading out test results. Her office however is the absolute worst. The staff are incompetent, inefficient and unresponsive. No matter how many times I call they don't seem to attend to my simple needs for making appointments, getting referrals or mailing test results out. I actually have to call several times to remind them before they even acknowledge they should mail the results to me. I thought it was common sense and standard practice!! Their level of service is absolutely terrible and I don't feel like they care about their patients at all. read more

It must be a hit of miss with this lady, I was not happy. I had my first apt with her as a new patient to an HMO plan. My apt was at 4:15 and I didnt see her till 5:20 maybe, I spent more time with her nurse than with her and she was a sweet girl. When I did see the doctor she rushed through my pap and was very cold. She said I'd have to make another appt to complete the rest of my physical and come back 2-3wks really? ! I dont have more money to throw away because she was running late! She than wanted to rush out when I had to ask her if my iud was still in place that seemed to annoy her because she apparently didnt check for it when she was doing my pap so to make it worse she had to check again !!! And as u may already guess it was not pleasant to do it again!!! I was so upset especially when her response was yes its there. No lady I asked if it was coming out not if it was still there, I told u it was there!!! By then she said I will just have to see an OB because she had nooo clue ! And had apparently not read my chart ! Ridiculous I will never go back to her! read more

I see a wide range of reviews, and I'm pondering the stars, but, as of now, after my 2nd consultation with Dr. Yoon, I'm very pleased. My appts have been morning ones (when doctor's are not as "pressed") and I am not very truculent (but I am old!). Dr. Yoon is commiserate and listens (she responded well to my input and asked QUESTIONS!). Some doctors ride a high horse. She seems far more interested than my former (67 years...a dozen GP's) doctors. I may be "going overboard" as her referral to a "specialist" (the ent dr.) was egregiously disappointing as the dr. was totally unprepared. However, I won't hold Dr. Yoon culpable as the ent Dr. has already departed my health care insurance plan. Overall, at this juncture, I could not hope for more. I empathize with some of the patients who have been disappointed (late afternoon appt's., incompetent staff, etc.) as I well know the feeling, however, I feel LUCKY. I don't say "Whoohoo", just that she's excellent. read more
