We had a second floor and garage addition over 18 years ago from C & Z. Flooring installed in the second floor is still good after all these years and did not need to be replaced. This time around, I contracted for another addition to the side of the house and a kitchen remodel with other work being done to every single room in the house except for one. This was a huge undertaking. Hats off to the crew who did the first remodel as there were 12 people living in the house during that renovation; this time there were only 7 people living through most of the renovation (and a dog) increasing to 9 towards the end of the work. While the crew members changed over the years, Aaron Holbrook was present for both remodels. Trying to remodel and renovate around so many people was challenging and so we are grateful to Jonathan King, Patrick Smith, Ron, Anthony and especially Jason who almost single handedly painted the entire house. The crew had to work around all these people while installing cabinets, flooring, painting, ceiling tiles, framing, etc....The crew was flexible, considerate and courteous. I feel the overall cost of the project was fair for the amount of work that was done both inside and outside of the house. We will be contacting them again for future work.

They gaslit me a bit in hindsight. On the supposed 3rd time they finally knocked on my door and showed me photos of my downspouts. The third house was my old townhouse. Completely full, no way they were cleaned in the previous year. So they basically ripped me off on the third house. They did not fulfill their obligations and our gutters still overflowed. We had to do the job ourselves. We were misinformed. We were misled. And then they lied to us. Consider a more professional company that will do a complete job ... for a lot less money too. As further evidence, this is how All Season Gutters describes itself on its website: "A+ Ratings at the BBB." Actually, if you check the Better Business Bureau website, you'll find that All Season Gutters is not affiliated with the BBB, and has a rating of C+, not A+ as the company claims. This is what is said about such a low rating: "C+ through C- means that there are significant issues with the company's practices and you should proceed with caution if you choose to do business with them." I had been working with this company for years and had invested a great deal of money (thousands of…read moredollars!) into their services. I recently had a problem with my heat pump and after 3 service calls to my home, they finally diagnosed the problem. I was told that the solution would cost me $1,100 dollars and I was shocked! They agreed to reduce the fee to $800.00 and give me credit for previous service calls, but I thought it was still outrageous! When I asked for a breakdown of materials and labor, they refused to provide the information stating that they "don't do that" and have a "flat-rate" charge. When my son went on line to match the materials needed to do the job, we discovered that I was being "hosed" by Buffington! I also estimated that they were attempting to charge me $250.00 an hour in labor. DO NOT USE this company unless you want to be scammed. They are dishonest and shady. I found a local, smaller HVAC company recommended by a neighbor. They laid out the labor charge up front, as well as material cost. The total charge to repair my heat pump was $259.00 by the other contractor and took one hour to complete! RUN, DON'T WALK away from Buffington!

So, we called Village Chimney Sweeps to find out why the stove wasn't drafting as well as it should. Now, there was a little mix-up in what time our appointment was. It got moved up but that seemed to get lost in the shuffle, but I'm not going to count that against the business. Didn't ruin my day and shouldn't ruin theirs. However, if you find they're running late, you might want to call to make sure everyone is on the same page. Once the chimney sweep was here, he was neat, courteous and very good with our curious dog who seemingly was entertaining a career change into chimney sweeping that day. He found an abandoned squirrel's nest in the chimney, took photos and showed them to us. Then, he went to work clearing the clog and left the house just as it was before despite having a bunch of equipment set up and the soot he sucked out. Before he left, he made a few recommendations to consider over the long-term to keep everything working well but didn't put on a hard sell. Even though I hope we don't have to meet under the same circumstances, I wouldn't mind if we did.
