i had one of the worst experiences due to Nordstrom, that I ever had. A dress I ordered arrived last night and I called them ten minutes later to ask how I can return it, as it was smaller than what a 6 year old could fit into. They said they will send fed ex to me today to pick it up. I waited 8 hours, and could not leave my living room all day or even shower because I might miss fed ex coming. So tonight they came. And after a wasted day, I was told that they cannot make a label for the package as Nordstrom didnt tell them ( fed ex) to make a label for a return. So i had to call Nordstorm, which merely took two whole hours, because now they have a bot answering. I got a woman on the line by 9 pm. Had to explain this and then wait a whole hour for her to make a new appointment for fed ex to come to me Monday. I dont drive or I would go in person to return but it is a $300 taxi ride from me. If they even come to pick up the tiny dress, ( I hold Nordstrom responsible, not fed ex) I am so done with Nordstrom, the place where I bought all my clothes for the past 10 years. Never again, they are the worst. They used to put a label into every package and maybe once a year I returned something that did not fit, but it was there if you needed it. Now, no label, no human answering when you call, and when people come on the line, they do not know how to tell you to make a return, they dont know, or they screw it up, like with my return. NOTE: I am editing my review. This is almost 2 1/2 weeks after i reviewed Nordstrom. they did send me another Fed Ex pickup for the tiny dress,and I sent it back with the fed ex pickup they gave me. But the lying thieves at the store will not confirm that they received it, which is nuts because they arranged for the pickup, not me. It takes only about 3 days for them to receive the return from me. So now it is nearly 3 weeks. But will they refund me and tell me they received my dress? NO they will not. Another reason I warn all of you to steer clear of Nordstrom. I did get paid back, BUT NOT FROM THE STORE, WHO SHOULD HAVE PAID ME BACK. Bye Bye again, Nordstrom. I hope you lose a few thousand customers! ANOTHER EDIT: I just this minute found out that my returned dress was received almost 2 weeks ago by Nordstrom. Yet I have not received an email like you are supposed to get. i have nit received my refund either. i wonder if they like being called lying thieves. well, as long ad I am telling the truth, they cant do anything to me. i told the truth. they lied by telling me they didnt receive it. they stole, by not giving me my refund. read more

I mostly shop online, especially for dresses and shoes. I usually only go into the store when I need to return something. They have a lot of beautiful items, and I sometimes wish I were the kind of person who enjoys browsing and trying things on in-store--but that's just not me. So far, I haven't had any issues shopping here. My only complaint is that they removed the dedicated online order return/pickup area, which I really liked. It's now located on the third floor in a much smaller space. One major plus is their generous 365-day return and exchange policy. However, I did read my Yelp friend Tracy K's review about a dress malfunction that wasn't properly handled by the store, which was disappointing. This is a decent size of Nordstrom I've been to, with three levels and only the 1st and 2nd level access to the mall. Most of the items I find here are pretty high-end, which is expected, with a decent selection. I found the store to be quite clean and appealing to look at, plus enough workers to keep it running and flowing. I don't visit many of these stores unfortunately due to how far I am, but it adds the fun when in the area. Something I learned at Nordstrom, at least at this location, is there is a restaurant on the third level called, Nordstrom Grill located in the back corner. Now that opens up the idea to come back here. I see this store lasting for years to come. read more

Gave Nordstrom a chance when my wife and I had to purchase black tie wear for a charity gala and we saw some stuff online we thought would be nice. We bought a tuxedo and several high heels. We inquired about sizing and Nordstrom's alterations. We were told inaccurate information from multiple customer service representatives both online and over the phone. When we asked how much alterations would be and showed them pictures and exactly what alterations we wanted done, they turned us away and said they could only give us prices if they see the item in person and we are wearing it. Any honest tailor who knows what they're doing could've answered our questions. We ended up returning everything. Nordstrom also falsely advertises there is free basic alterations, but the truth is only members with the credit card can only get alterations back as "points". The people who work here are dismissive and extremely condescending. You can find better quality on Amazon and JCPenney. read more

Why I love Yelp... our average rating for this store is 3 stars.. Google reviews are 4 1/2 - 5. As if. Thanks Yelp for keeping things real!!! Ok...... Nordstom definitely and enjoyable shopping experience on a par with the Bloomingdales across the parking lot from it. Love the big department stores of the past still surviving.. So keep going... please never go. They have amazing dress shops and top notch service if you need to get something formal.. Attendants in the dressing room.. just as it should be. You'll pay but that's what you come there for.. Ambiance, quality, nicer selections, and customer service if needed. Full ten on that. Why the three stars... they sold me a gorgeous dress that had a faulty zipper... it broke as I was simply walking out of my car to an event... had to be emergency pinned together and I couldn't enjoy the event. They were notified at corporate and didn't take the other few off the shelves and didn't go out of their way offering any type of courtesy on a future purchase. So there was no future dress shop purchases there. No QC. Chance are wouldn't happen again.. but once a dress literally falls apart it was a concern.. the woman that phoned me back was not interested in quality control.. or even too courteous. For that reason, though I love the dress shop and you may too... I won't be in that department again. I should say never.. but never say never.... could be tempted yet again. Love this Nordstrom location at Roosevelt Field Mall. It's very spacious and classy store. It's always clean and very easy to find what you location for. Based on your shopping needs it's pricey, but a good sale is always available. I brought the Flowwromb by Vicktor perfume and YSL lipsticks. The sales representatives were friendly, prompt and professional. You can definitely get lost in the store just browsing the beautiful clothes, handbags, cosmetics, etc. Great location and selections to choose from. read more

Nordstrom is my favorite department store. They have personal shoppers even over the phone. Everything is so organized and easy to find unlike some stores. They also have great sales. I've met so many different people that I can not just name one. They have an area where they do facials and eyebrows and mani/pedicures. its always nice to get pampered. Nordstrom. A store I love to shop online, but hate to navigate in person. Especially when attempting to purchase something from one of the counters. I went to the fragrance section first for Jo Malone. I was looking for a floral scent for my wedding day. I was quickly helped by a sales associate. She could have taken her time a little bit more, but hey? At least someone approached me. Last time I came here I was left sniffing things on my own and couldn't find an associate to complete the purchase. Then we went to the men's formal wear where my fiancé was looking for a bow tie. None of the men working in the area approached to help. They just glanced from afar. Ended up having to go to Bloomingdales to look for bow ties and assistance. In my opinion it's best to go in the morning or early afternoon. Probably more associates. Was just surprised by the lack of service considering the price points of items and it being early Saturday evening. I bought a gift card for my daughter. When she went to use the card, the store clerk scratched to expose the PIN, then proceeded to tell her that the gift card had already been used on-line. Nordstrom did not honor the card, even though the clerk stated she was the one that had exposed the PIN. So apparently these gift cards can be used on-line without the PIN and I am out the money. I gave it one star because one star rating is "not good" and that has been my experience at this Nordstrom lately. I have been going there for YEARS... and wow has it gone downhill. Let me begin: 1) They had a ton of people working there today, midweek early December, yet there were very few customers in the store. This resulted in groups of employees chit-chatting together all over the main floor- or standing behind the counters looking at their phones. Not a great impression when you first walk in the store...."not good" 2) Upstairs in designer area I noticed a table of sweaters that i had just purchased a few online the literal night before at Nordstrom.com... at substantial discount. They were on the table at full price. I asked the VERY nice sales associate and she just shook her head and said... it is a problem. So now I feel I can not buy ANYTHING in the store before checking their website for the price. She advised that the price would NOT come down off at the register unless I specifically asked. "not good" 3) As an ICON customer I was gifted (lol- based on what i have spent there) a holiday lunch voucher for $50. Had lunch in the "Grill" on third floor. Food and service were good but the atmosphere.... felt like a cafeteria- lighting is terrible and instead of the nice holiday music they have on in the store they have on "club" music with a heavy base that sent my husband to leave ASAP after we ate...."not good" 4) As an ICON was also gifted $100 voucher in cosmetics/fragrance with instructions on the voucher for the sales associate how to process the voucher. (it was supposedly preloaded into my account). Well things went extremely further downhill with this experience. Enough to say the sales associate in fragrance- F-E-R-N. (she spelled it for me loudly when I asked for her name after she had ME traipsing all over he store to find a manager after she could not process the voucher and said I can not find a manager either.) Um...lady what do you want me to do....I mean I don't know... I am the customer. So she actually ME go find a manager upstairs! (with like at least four other associates in fragrance watching this all occur and doing nothing but continuing their chitchat) The manager I did find in the customer service area and another on the floor were very very nice and helpful to resolve this but this whole thing took 45MINUTES!!!!!! and the store is about 95 degrees. "not good" There were many other details that are too boring to add- but you get the gist. I think I will be using this Nordstrom as a return center basically for now on. And oh yes, the lovely customer service young woman and her friend in cosmetics tried to salvage the day and were super sweet. Thank you to them. Evidently the store manager was in a meeting this entire time and was "definitely going to "reach out to me with a call" LOL is hell freezing over today?????? That is all! read more

I never had the want to rate a Department store, but I had to give credit when it's due. My fiance Loves Nordstrom and shops here all the time, however I feel this weekend the outstanding service had to be commended. Decisions.... decisions.... needed to be made when it came to buying bags.... All I can say is that the sales attendant Rayla went above and beyond to make sure my fiance was taken care of, and that she was ultimately comfortable with the purchase. It was true genuine customer service at it's best. I find Neiman Marcus to be too pretentious. It get different service depending if I wear my Ferragamos or if I rock Jordans...yet all smiles when I drop bills for my MFK or Creed colognes...crazy right? Nordstrom has always taken that extra step to take care of their customers. I have been shopping at this Nordstrom since 1997. The store is incredibly clean the bathrooms are incredibly clean and most of the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They have a wonderful variety of merchandise and the staff will go out of their way to find merchandise that is not available in their store. The children's department has shoes coats clothes and night where they have a linen department a shoe department for men and women could tour close a sports line casual wear and handbags fine jewelry as well as five star realistic costume. They have an excellent department for skin care and cosmetics as well as many fragrances like Hermès. They have upgraded the mall so Nieman Marcus is now here and it gives it a more couture environment. This is definitely one of my favorite Nordstrom's to shop I also love the brow bar that they have in the back all the girls are excellent as well as the spa upstairs. I earn many points from there several events that they have every year. read more

The absolute worst customer service. Vendors should really look into placing their brands at other retailers since this one is driving customers away. The salesperson in the intimates department was rude and refused to allow people to try on clothing stating it was their policy. How are you supposed to purchase something without trying it on. Their skims section was filled with bras covered in deodorant stains which she blamed on people trying on?! I'm confused I thought I couldn't try this on? Right now I m sitting in Roosevelt field mall in Nordstrom I was having gift card of 20$ n Nordstrom anniversary note of 20$ I bought my mom with me to give her gift from that. There was guy hans very nice helpful in selecting my mom shoe as her feet swells. When I went to counter for payment the guy said my note of 20$ expires on aug 8. Today is oct 18 and another guy told me that u can go to customer service they can issue u gift card for it. But guy came from customer service Alex and he said he can't accept note as it was promotional. I wanted to shop for a formal gown for my nephews wedding. I am a plus size 14 /16 (1x) and wanted sleeves. There were no gowns to try on. The staff was apologetic. They said that this Nordstrom came up as having gowns available on the website because gowns can be ordered for pick up there. Without anything to try on, what's the point? I didn't get her name but just looked on my receipt her name is Ebru. I had just come from Sephora and Macy's because I was looking for a particular foundation. In both places the girls seemed to be quite uninterested in me or my business. Kinda happy because I'm really not a Nordstrom's shopper find their prices a bit high for my taste but I do understand the old adage u get what u pay for. I can tell u that Ebru has been there a couple of years and I can see why. She knew exactly what I wanted, didn't try to oversell me (I really hate thatJ and was just so pleasant. I bought what I needed and she gave me a free sample of the Dior progressive peeling creme it made my face feel so great I'm going back to purchase this product. I'm very picky as everyone should be of the things I put into or on my face and the Dior Foundation I bought, forever glow, did everything it says it does. I researched reviews and You tube videos because again me being cheap if I'm going to spend this doe it better do everything it says it does..so happy with it!!! I went back to Nordstrom's today, after being contacted by Toya- the lingerie department manager. She graciously offered to help fit me me personally. I met Toya, and also my favorite SA -Marie P. was available. Marie was just as good as I remembered, helping me into and out of as many bras as was needed. And yes, she started with a tape measure. It was early on a Wednesday morning, but the department was still a bit busy by the time I left. I felt very cared for, and it was not the exhausting, frustrating experience I had a few weeks ago. This store is a huge disappointment. It is basically a repetition of Roosevelt Field's Bloomingdale's. The store was sloppy and disorganized. The whole second floor was dedicated to overpriced Prom Dresses (prom dresses, really???). The clothes were overpriced for what they were. Couture next to crap. Their cosmetics department was so so at best. Apparently Nordstrom's corporate office agrees that this store doesn't warrant all the high end cosmetics that they are technically supposed to carry. I feel like I was scammed, and I was the one who was being looked at as if I was a scammer. I wanted a pair of heels that were not in my size at this particular store. The sales associate called another store to have them delivered to me. So as she's doing the transaction she asks for my card it prints out a receipt for 2 gift cards and the purchase of the shoes I ask her why does it say gift card? She says she had to do it this way so the information transfers. She didn't even ask me or let me know until she had already put 900 on gift card. When I asked her would I have a problem if these shoes don't fit, she said no just bring everything and I should be fine. I get the shoes and they were too narrow I had to take them off after wearing them for maybe a hour or less. When I try to return them I have to sit and wait for a manger. She doesn't even look me in they eye and keep saying they're worn repeatedly. Then says she doesn't know why the sales associate would put them on gift cards.The store manger comes and says the same thing and tells me to get a shoe stretcher. Along with very strange and cold looks. Upon further inspection the shoes were probably already worn when they got to me cause I barely wore them myself. I will stick to online orders, never will purchase anything from this location again. Andy the customer service rep online was so kind trying to help me resolve the issue but even he could only do so much because my money was put on these gift cards. I guess if I were a cast member of Jersey Shore it would be suitable, but with poor clothing, brings a shopper of similar ilk. Horrible experience at this story. Went in hoping to try on a pair of boots but was appalled by the way I was treated by their shoe department staff. I stood around for 20 or so minutes waiting for an employee to assist me and as I looked around the room there were 4 employees walking around chitchatting with each other or just aimlessly walking around and only one older gentleman who was actually doing his job assisting customers. At no point did any of these 4 employees approach me even though I made eye contact several times with all of them and made it very obvious I needed assistance. After waiting for so long I decided to approach the employees. I walked up to one girl who was talking to another employee the entire time and tried saying hello and made eye contact but when she didn't stop talking I walked around the bench between us they proceeded to walk away from me and continue talking to each other elsewhere. Next I approach two young men who looked at me and walked the other way as well. I was beyond infuriated. The icing on the cake was that the same girl decided to finally stop talking and go assist a customer who was looking at shoes in the same isle I was just waiting at. At this point I was so livid I decided to leave the store but after a while I couldn't stand the fact that I came all this way for nothing so I decided to walk back into the story and low and behold the same employees were all still just walking around not doing their job. I walked right up to them interrupting their conversation and yes--passive aggressively but respectfully--asked for assistance and what do they say loudly to each other "oh I know exactly where we are going". Like okay so if you know where we are going then you knew I was standing over there wanting help originally then why did you not do your job and help me right away? Ie admitting they actively ignored me. It was so rude and at the end of this long predicament I didn't even get to try the shoes because guaranteed the guy who helped me didn't even look. I felt like I was unfairly judged and profiled because perhaps I did not fit the "Nordstrom customer type" or perhaps due to my race or because of the way I was dressed. Purchased 2 pair of shoes there today. One pair is white and the only pair left in my size was dirty because it was the sample everyone tried on. I asked for money off the dirty shoe. They would not discount them. They took it in the back and washed the white sole. I took the pair because I wanted the shoes for this evening. It's not perfectly clean like a new pair should be. This is my favorite department store. Unlike Neiman Marcus, you will not be judged for your outer appearance here. Nordstrom is high end but upon entering you will realize that it's a store for everybody because their customer demographics spans all kinds of people - super diverse, again, unlike Neiman Marcus. Sales and promotions are great and if you want even better deals just go to Nordstrom Rack and they have basically the same things. Nordstrom @ Roosevelt Field is a very clean, organized, attractive, comfortable and easy department store to navigate. The super high end section is there on the side but the rest is really for everyone else who is willing to spend a little more than usual and wants to enjoy a few of the luxuries the high end world has to offer. read more
