Extremely unhappy…read more The doc prescribed Efudex (sp?) to remove pre-skin cancers from my face and told me it wouldn't hurt. It hurt like crazy. I cried in misery to the point that my husband insisted that I call the doctor. I called three or four times, indicating I was in great pain, and never once did I get through to the doctor. On one call, I asked if I could take my dog's Tramadol as a pain killer -- same formula as human Tramadol, just no insurance coverage ;). The attendant said she asked Kunkel and then told me I could take it, but when I called back saying that I wasn't comfortable taking someone else's prescription and asked for one for myself, the message I got was that the doc didn't know enough about Tramadol to prescribe it to me, so the answer to my request was no. If he doesn't know enough about it to prescribe it, why in the world would he tell me it was OK to take my dog's prescription??? The last time I called, the attendant told me that I should try taking ibuprofen. Really??? I was in so much pain that I was giving myself a upset stomach because I was taking so much ibuprofen. To get this advice on the third or fourth phone call was just insulting. I was so disgusted with my treatment and inability to reach the doctor that I made an appointment with the doc just so that I could tell him to his face how disappointed I was with the care. At the appointment, he said I should have told the attendant that I wanted to talk with him, which just made me more mad because that was the first thing I did on the first call. Argh! I don't usually post negative reviews but this experience really chapped my hide.

He is an amazingly nice dr, and is so easy to talk to. His staff is also extremely friendly and pleasant. His office has moved, and is no longer in santa maria, but is in arroyo grande now.. it's a nice office, and I never wait more than 5 minutes, which is amazing for a doctor!
