I have been a patient of Dr. Kollia for more than 8 years. Terrible experience with cosmetic procedures, multiple redoes over a course of 6+ months with no acceptable results, had to file a court claim. Run away if you need anything other than basic care, she has zero experience or aesthetic eye for anything related to cosmetic dentistry. So many mistakes. They broke my friend's tooth during a routine cleaning and tried to charge her for it (almost $300). These scammers will try to charge for cleanings covered twice a year with normal dentistry and lie to your face about it. To top it off, they always arrive late to appointments but will be a nightmare if a patient runs late to an appointment. Horrible bedside manner, amazing front desk staff. Fire the back office and start over. If you risk it and book an appointment, track every expense and whatever they say to you because they will bleed your wallet dry and bleed your gums while they're at it. They push unnecessary procedures, inflate costs, and give you surprise bills after quoting something totally different. Also they LOVE late cancellation fees. Since I can remember I have had multiple root canals, fillings, cavities, you name it. Just bad teeth genes from my dad's french side. And because of that I have seen MANY different dentists (from all over the country from the various places I've lived) and I've never had a good experience and always been terrified to the point of crying. ( yes even as an adult from many bad experiences where I've felt drill pain and they don't care) but for the first time in my life I can honestly say that I have found the first dentist that I LOVE. And not just love, I am actually excited when I get to go see them. Out of all the doctors I've had in any profession, they are seriously the best, and I never thought in a million years I would say that. I've been a patient at Aesthetica for about 4 years now and I can't imagine going to see anyone else. Dr. Kollia and her team go above and beyond to making me feel special, not judged, pain free and comfortable. They sincerely make me feel cared for and in good hands, and I definitely have had my share of scared tears, and still no judgement! If anything uplifting me with comforting bed side manner telling me I'm in good hands, with plenty of compliments to tell me how beautiful my smile was and that they were excited to make it look even better. They make sure that I'm 100% numb and can't feel a single thing during the entire process. And the best part, I get to watch Netflix, Hulu, prime, anything I want on a big screen TVs above the chair with noise cancelling headphone during the entire procedure! And the whole time she's checking in and I just get to relax, it's beyond amazing. For anyone that has ever had a severe fear of the dentist, this place is for you. Even the women at the front desk are so down to earth and sweet. Aside from all of the comfort stuff, they do PHENOMENAL work, seriously. I had a cavity on my front tooth that I was terrified would be obvious and look ugly to ruin my smile, but it looked better than before! I even accidentally chipped it 2 years later and they fixed it right back up! I'm beyond devastated that they will be dropping coverage for my Premera insurance next month, but they made such an impact on me that I have to sing their praises and I wish they would reconsider. If anything give me an amazing recommendation for a similar dentist. But I dunno if anything can compare to Dr. Kollia and her team. I understand the need to enforce late cancellation policies, but in rare cases, I think exceptions should be made. I would consider my case a rare one for which an exception was appropriate. I have been a happy customer of Aesthetica for over 3 years now and I had never missed an appointment. I followed through on all procedures and follow-up appointments that Aesthetica has recommended. I had an appointment scheduled for August 2022. It was one they recommended I come in for earlier but they were completely booked out so couldn't see me till August. When August approached, they called me to inform me that they need to reschedule my appointment due to a staff member calling out. We landed on 12/30. Partially because Aesthetica was booked out and also because I was going to be out of the country on vacation till then. When I showed up for my appointment, they informed me that my insurance would not be covering my visit and that I would be responsible. My insurance had not changed for the last 3 years and I had my visits always covered at 80% so naturally, I was surprised. I was informed that my insurance had an annual limit that has been reached and so now my expenses will be out-of-pocket. I asked if I could wait 2 more days so that my insurance coverage would refresh my annual limit and would be able to cover my visit. The office manager insisted that I must pay for the visit out of pocket OR pay the $75 late cancellation fee. I found this a bit unfair as the only reason my appointment was scheduled for 12/30 was because they had rescheduled my previous appointment and yet they couldn't wait 2 days to see me and save me $ for a non-required visit (it was simply a routine exam and cleaning that they recommended). Come to think of it, the reason for why my annual limit was reached (something I has never happened in previous years is because I had visited them 4 times in 2022 for a deep cleaning - something they had recommended. On top of all the cleanings, they wanted me to come in again for a routine cleaning and another routine exame. As a small business owner myself, I understand and support late cancellation fees. However, after a 20 minute discussion with the office manager and front desk, I truly felt they had zero care for their patient's financial obligations or simply good will in mind as they operate their business. They care about their bottom line (as every business should, but while making equitable decisions with their customers). Needless to say, when asked if I wanted to schedule a follow-up appointment (something they ALWAYS state is needed), my response was no thank you as I won't be returning again. read more

I could not recommend this place any less. They are very money hungry, sending you to "specialists" that will charge you out of pocket for procedures that you do not even need. I had a crown done 3 years ago, and it is already showing signs of cracking and isn't properly aligned with my other teeth. My new dentist was appalled with how poor the job was that he offered to fix it on his own dime. This "specialist" charged me a deposit before even billing my insurance. Don't let the glitz and the glam of the office fool you, if you want quality dental work do not go here. Run away from this office if you need any type of restoration services. After being a patient for many years I had the worst experience of my life while Dr. Kollia was trying to replace 1 broken veneer and put 4 more in. First time the colour was not matched properly and I ended up with mismatched teeth that she cemented permanently. Second time the shape and translucency did not match. After 3 redos one of veneers fell off. she was trying to redo it but she ended up cementing a tooth that was longer and flatter than all other teeth. I cried in their chair when I saw what she did. I had to go to a different office to get her work redone. Her office asked me to sign a release of claims (with a condition not to criticize Dr. Kollia or her office on any social platform) before issuing any refunds. I am very disappointed to be writing this review as I have been going to Aesthetica for many years and it is very conveniently located but my past two experiences there have been awful. Dentistry is an area of medicine and should have the same expectation of compassion as any other, however, the past two times I've been there it has been cold and accusatory. As a medical provider myself, I shared my frustration and there was no accountability or apologies offered. To say that I wouldn't have needed a deep cleaning if I had come in every 3 months for a cleaning when there are no openings, they are short staffed, and I work in medicine, also incredibly short staff, is unkind. Additionally, wearing a mask non-stop since March of 2020 has given me terrible mask mouth, something that has been unpleasant and painful for me. Today, as the hygienist was doing the deep cleaning, she did not do a great job at numbing me (compared to the hygienist who did the opposite side about a month ago), and then rolled her eyes at me when I complained I felt something sharp. I did not feel comfortable with her finishing flossing or polishing so I did not even get the full service yet still had to pay for the full price. I appreciated the kindness of the front desk staff, I only wished that had extended beyond the lobby doors. read more

I gave a 72+ hour cancellation because of my work schedule. I was booked for July 18. The next available was February 23. Yes next available was seven months later. Given I get periodontal treatment every 3-4 months, it seems like they wouldn't have been able to accommodate me anyways. They also bill my insurance as work done by Dr.Kollia, even though a different dentist actually does the exam. read more

As far as a trip to the dentist goes, this one was as painless as could be. The office itself is gorgeous, from the lobby with its digital check-in process to the state-of-the-art equipment. Staff members were lovely and I had no complaints. The reason I am writing this review is because I have a unique problem with dentists, and Aesthetica handled it in a way that truly impressed me and rid me of all anxiety. I have been diagnosed with bulimia nervosa for 13 years, and as a result my teeth have suffered multiple cavities, enamel erosion, and gum recession. Because of the stigma surrounding eating disorders, I have always been nervous broaching this topic with my dentist. In fact, I can't remember the last time anyone in the dental world acknowledged it, however obvious it might be. At Aesthetica, I was surprised that one of the basic intake questions was whether or not I had experienced an eating disorder. Once I confirmed, my technician asked me some follow-up questions in a professional manner that betrayed no shame or stigma whatsoever. She and my dentist, after being reassured that I was seeking help for my bulimia, went on to suggest methods of harm reduction in order to protect my teeth during episodes. I can't express enough how refreshing it is to be able to speak up about this issue in a setting like this and not be treated differently because of it. Mad props to the team at Aesthetica for handling it so well. I will definitely be recommending them to friends, eating-disordered and otherwise. read more

I went to Aesthica for over 10 years, and they're the best dentist office I've ever had. Not only are their dentists doing a great job, but their hygienists/staff are knowledgeable and diligent. As some other posts have mentioned, some issues might be over-treated, but I don't think it's really a problem. They are very respectful and lay out the facts well - showing you details photos of your teeth, changes over time, X-rays, etc, so that you can make an informed decision to treat something vs leave it as-is. Unfortunately I stopped going to Aesthetica after moving to Los Angeles, and after visiting several dentists, I felt compelled to write this review. I really miss how Aesthetica ran their office - everything from the helpful appointment reminders to the tips the hygienists would give my on improving my brushing habits. Maybe someday I'll move back or visit Seattle and will schedule an appointment! read more

This office is futuristic.... but 2 hrs for an appointment is too long. This office takes lots of fancy pictures of your teeth.... but 16 xrays seemed like too many. The people that work here are very nice... but I kind of felt like I was at a nail salon. They convinced me to buy a Sonic Care and acted surprised when I bought it from them instead of at a local store. If you are trying to sell something, don't act surprised when the customer actually buys it.... it makes them feel like they've been tricked. After recently moving to Seattle I thought starting over with a new dentist would be a hassle, but Aesthetica made it an absolute delight. Never have I met a more friendly staff. The x-ray technician, dentist, and dental hygienist were all so friendly and talked me through the whole process, really making me feel a part of how my health was managed. I was referred to Aesthtica Contemporary Dentistry by an existing patient and am very glad I was! Aesthetica is an amazing dentist office that really makes you feel welcome and a part of your care. Every staff member I encountered during my two visits was friendly, welcoming and the medical staff really takes the time to make sure you receive the best care possible. It is pretty amazing to see before and after pictures of your dental care (via the tooth camera) and I am very glad they offer this service! The technology here is incredible, very modern and well kept; however, the thing that really makes this dentist office amazing and a place I will return long term is the staff. They are simply some of the nicest and most down to earth dental office staff I have ever encountered. I never felt pressured to purchase anything extra and the recommendations they did provide they were able to show me via pictures why it was a recommendation and allowed me to make the decision. I've been to Aesthetica four times now - each experience has been fantastic so I thought it's high time I wrote a review. Firstly, it's a beautiful facility - very high tech (I even got to watch Netflix as it hovered above me on the big screen while they were drilling my cavity - headphones and all!) and the entire staff is very attentive and friendly. I also really love the fact that they are transparent and keep you in the loop regarding treatment plans. I'm sick of so many medical and dental procedures being 'done' to me without me understanding why or how much it's going to cost. The folks at Aesthetica explain everything they are doing, take lots of photos to show the before and after (and even the 'in progress' part!) - it is empowering to be a part of the decision making process - it is my teeth and my money, after all! read more

Super happy with my services here. I switched here after being postponing visits because my primary dentist is in Bellevue and I no longer work on the Eastside. Aesthica is about a mile from my house and I'd honestly drive further to come based on the service so far. The office is clean (taking necessary COVID-19 precautions), high-tech equipment, and friendly staff. So far I've had two deep-cleanings and two filling replacements done and all appointments went smoothly. I have been going there for years but last few years and they are very expensive and I feel like I am at a car dealership being sold a car I don't want but they seemed fine so didn't change . Last treatment I went in with some light sensitivity and they put a crown on a cracked tooth - a month later i still can't chew on that side - after consulting back they told me to go see a root canal specialist if it didn't improve - great $1500 dollars later and what wasn't much of a problem was made much worse with their work read more

I never thought I'd write a review for a dentist, but this place is really awesome! They have very high-tech machinery, a spotless office, and are thorough in their exam and cleanings. My first appointment involved lots of questions to understand my routine and overall health, x-rays and high-def pictures of all my teeth, as well as a gum assessment to tailor my cleaning needs. Everything was explained to me before it was done, I was given a detailed description of all the charges, and they weren't pushy about any products or my decision to forgo fluoride. The cleaning was professional and done with great care. They give you sunglasses to wear so the lights they use aren't blinding you. There was no awkward conversation during the cleaning which I appreciated because I prefer to zone out for these things. There's also a TV mounted to the ceiling so you can be distracted while they're poking around in there. All my questions were answered, and I left feeling like it was the best experience I'ver ever had at a dentist. I was wowed. The dentist herself is very bright and puts you at ease (I have major doctor/dentist anxiety). I don't think I've ever met someone so passionate and cheerful about their job. I'm updating my review because of some really great customer service that Aesthetica recently provided. About 6.5 years ago I got a crown from Aesthetica. I was not pleased with the result and ended up getting it replaced by my dentist back home in Ohio. Aesthetica refunded me (my parents) the money, but there was some mix-up with the bank and the check did not get cashed and my dad didn't realize it until recently. 2010 was a pretty rough year for us. My dad and I talked to Lori several times, and she managed to re-issue us the check; apparently the records are gone at this point, but she remembered who I was and worked things out so that we could get the money back. Crowns are expensive, ya'll. This was a pretty big deal. The whole time she was gracious and kind, despite the fact that it seemed like she had a lot on her plate. You can see below for my previous review; I stand by it and I won't be returning to Aesthetica anytime soon (besides, I love my current dentist and hygienist too much). However, they seem to have a number of positive reviews on here these days, so take from that what you will! read more

I was referred to Dr. Kollia by a friend after an awful experience with another dentist. I had a crown that was painful and overly sensitive for over a year, and was never resolved. Aesthetica was an awesome experience from beginning to end. Intake was seamless, front desk staff was the best. Dr. Kollia and her assistant were wonderful! They took time to hear my full history of dental work (which is kind of complicated), and gave me a full break down of the work required at that time, what would be needed in the near future, and a detailed invoice so I could see what my cost would be after insurance. I had the option of choosing what I could afford of the secondary treatment, and received none of the push to do it immediately that I have received in the past. My crown was completed quickly and painlessly, I felt incredibly taken care of and I have had zero pain or any other issues since getting it done. They told me of course to call immediately if any pain or issues came up, and called a couple of weeks later to check in. This is by far the best dental experience I have ever had, and I will recommend them to everyone. read more

I had made a list of recommendations from my neighborhood Nextdoor, and Aesthetica had more votes then anyone else, so I called. They got me in that morning and were pleasant and thorough. Walking into this place I feel like I am boarding the starship Enterprise. Very high tec, very low pain. I had a temporary front-tooth from a childhood injury, and when I was old enough to get a permanent cap, Aesthetica did an amazing job. They took a 3d imaging of my good tooth, then mirrored the image, and 3d printed the new tooth! Dr. Kollia even added very subtle imperfects to make it look like a believable tooth. Super cool. I just went to another dentist because my insurance changed. He got two other doctors opinions because I told him that Aesthetica told me I had several (like 12) cavities and I had only gotten the top right filled so far. He said I had one effing cavity, the only one that I said was visible and the reason I went to Aesthetica in the first place. They hadn't even gotten to fixing that one yet. He said the "surface cavities" that they said that I had were beige stains on my teeth and that he wouldn't dream of drilling. I didn't even have any trouble areas to "watch" for future cavities. He pretty much said 2 other dentists agree I got ripped off. I was taken advantage of because I hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years. They even told me I NEEDED this 600 dollar night guard that I totally didn't NEED. I think they pay for all their fancy machines by ripping you off! DONT GO HERE!!! Update: It is pretty sad that the business owner has to come on the internet and refute so many people claiming being ripped off. I still resent this place, like YEARS later. Read the "filtered reviews" if you can, as well. So many people have been ripped off at this place. and YEARS and several dentists opinions later, I still have NO cavities.. This office has all the "cool technology" but is hungry for your money.... I had heard great things about this place but have definitely been disappointed. Sad to say that I honestly feel that I have been suckered for believing all things they said I NEEDED. I guess this is my fault for thinking that all dental facilities are open for the health of their patients and not the sales. :( I was told that I NEEDED a $200 bottle of floride on top of all the other fancy products they sold ( that are not covered by any insurance) I got the floride and the "free trays". They made me these trays and then gave me a root canal. After the root canal the trays no longer fit. When I brought this up to the dental assistant she pretty much ignored the idea of making me new trays for free. Nice- so now I have a $200 bottle of floride with trays that won't fit. Also WARNING! They call the DAY BEFORE your appointment and if you want to reschedule they charge you $50. What is the point of the confirmation call if they plan on charging you regardless? I called and asked if there was anyway this could be changed without a fee or even another time for that day. They pretty much gave me the hand. As I couldn't reschedule my work meeting - I called them back and told them I was very upset about this situation and didn't understand the point of a confirmation call if they were planning on charging regardless and that I am done with this dental office. The front desk lady told me "that's fine- goodluck." and that was the end of the call......SHOCKED....i had to pass this story on to the rest of the office because I could NOT believe their customer service. I then later received the bill for the cancellation fee. I also saw that they charged my insurance for the procedure. I don't know if that is legal for charging insurance for something they didn't do? Bottom line- Don't be fooled by what they tell you. There are plenty of other Dentist in the city that will be real with you :) read more

I genuinely wanted to like this place. I loved how kind and friendly the dentist was. She is highly educated and does a great job explaining things to you in a way that is understandable. I came here after having a horrible experience and I was happy with my experience as far as the treatment went, but I never went back after my root canal for other treatment because of Lori. Lori comes across as condescending when answering treatment questions and while perceivably well-meaning, when asked questions regarding billing, she doesn't explain it well and talks down to you if you have a clarifying question. I experienced this with myself as well as over-hearing other conversations with patients. What's worse was that when I was in the waiting room, I experienced Lori and another member on staff talking about a patient in a disrespectful way. I wish that I hadn't had the experience that I did with Lori. While the other staff is friendly and kind, I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you don't want to have to deal with someone making you feel stupid or ashamed when you call to reschedule an appointment (within the approved time-frame) or ask questions regarding your treatment plan.
