This is a long overdue review. I have been going to Dr. Moin's office since he took over Wallingford Dental Arts several years ago. I only had the best dental experience with this new office called Wallingford Dental Care. Dr. Moin did a filling of my tooth that potentially needed a root canal. We gave it a try and it was a success-several years later, the tooth nerve is still there! Last year, we moved to the east side. I recently had an unfortunate experience with a dentist near my new house (I thought it was a small chip and that dentist was close by, but I learnt my lesson). After the filling was done by the new dentist, I was not able to chew celery/Dave's Killer bread/lettuce. It was a stressful situation since my vacation overseas was coming up in two days! Dr. Moin was able to quickly fit me in his busy schedule. My husband and I emotionally explained what happened, and Dr. Moin carefully listened. It is really impressive that instead of being influenced by the emotions behind our story (showing compassion though), Dr. Moin was able to analyze the images and help us realize that what really happened might not be what we think. Not only that, he came up with a creative solution based on the shape of my tooth, which I had never even thought about. The outcome is just amazing! I went from not being able to drink cold/hot water yesterday due to the sensitivity to happily eating a popsicle this afternoon. No one else will be messing with my teeth from now on. I learned my lesson and would totally pay 200 USD lyft/uber to go back to Dr. Moin, because it is well worth the money to avoid any dental issues that can arise due to unprofessional dental work. Above is my story of the only time I went to a different dentist during the past several years and how Dr. Moin was able to fix the situation. If he still takes new patients, do not hesitate. I have been seeing Dr. McIntyre (who recently retired) fairly consistently since the early 80's. I have been very satisfied. Yes, I was shown a very expensive treatment plan at one point. However, I simply declined what I didn't think was necessary. I couldn't see the point of having perfect teeth if my face was a wreck (well, aging anyway). I've had very good service at the office from front desk staff, to hygienists and assistants. Last week I met Dr. McIntyre's replacement, Dr. Moin, who now owns the business. I'm embarrassed to say that it's been 2 years since I've been to the dentist (except for the occasional cleaning appointment now that I live in Austin TX). I still only go to Dr. McIntyre for all my bigger dental needs (cavities, crack tooth repair, etc) since I still cannot find a local dentist that comes close to Dr. McIntyre. I saw Dr. McIntyre about a month ago to get my cracked tooth fixed, refill a cavity and I also decided to get a custom night guard since I started showing signs of teeth grinding. Once again, I cannot tell you how much I love Dr. McIntyre's time she spends to explain why investing in a night guard is very important as the years go by. I am so happy I decided to get the custom night guard because I'm actually waking up with less headaches and it's super comfortable to wear (it's not like who large night guards that make it hard to breath). I continue to highly recommend WDA for all your dental needs! They are caring, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and I don't trust anyone else to touch my teeth than Dr. McIntyre. read more

I have been going to Wallingford Dental Arts since I was a kid and I've always had stellar experiences! The hygienists are friendly and do a top notch job, and the owner is a talented dentist who cares for her patients as individuals. All mouths (and people) are different, after all! The whole staff works hard to ensure my questions are answered and that each visit is a delight. I have never been pressured to get work done. When I did opt to get a couple cavities filled they juggled the schedule to save me a trip and see me that same day! I had two mediocre experiences here: 1) Similar to Jaime C. they charged more than the average dental provider so I had to pay more than $100 for my routine exam and cleaning even though I had good dental insurance. 2) They recommended that I get a crown for a tooth that I haven't had any problems with--and no previous or subsequent dentist recommended the work. I'm really, really sorry to post this review. I like Doc Mc personally, I really do, and I started off putting my faith in her and her staff completely. But after six years of ongoing office and hygienist problems, after feeling jerked around and poorly listened to, I needed a break. I thought, well, probably no one will be better. Frankly, I expected to return after trying someone else. But there was something I didn't find out until after I left. And it's important. I came to WDA with a history of great teeth. Not just good, but great. Dentist after dentist told me that I was their dream patient, fabulous teeth, excellent home care. After a year or so going to WDA, I asked what the deal was with the line I was feeling with my tongue at the edge of my gums. "That's your gums receding." I was told. "The roots of your teeth creating a line. Aging, is what it is. Nothing we can do about it. You'll just have to get used to it." I was disappointed, but I had put my trust in them as my experts. It seemed things were changing in my previously excellent mouth. Cleaning after cleaning, hygienist after hygienist -- and they were always different people -- it was there. I had come to accept that my mouth was never going to feel as good as it used to. Then I went to my new dentist. In 10 minutes the hygienist at the new dentist removed the so-called "root line" of my teeth. Stunned, I asked for an explanation. "That's just plaque," she said. "I took it off." My teeth had simply not been cleaned well, not in the six years at WDA, not by any hygienist there, nor noticed by the doctor. Despite my going every four to six months, on schedule. Now, for the first time in six years, my mouth feels clean. It feels SO clean. Like it used to. I'm so happy. SO happy. "Oh, by the way," said my new dentist at my most recent checkup. "You have great teeth. Whatever you're doing at home to keep them clean? Keep doing it." read more

I looked through a lot of reviews before posting my review in her. I do not know who ran this place before, but currently, this place run by Dr. Imahn Moin. I've seen him on several occasions. My latest appointment was an emergency (I broke my front tooth in half). I called them, they very helpful and attentive, asked me several times if I'm in pain and what they can do to help me to not be in pain, and squeezed me into doctors schedule with no problems. Dr. Moin fixed my broken tooth so now it looks and feels even better then my original. He even took a step further, and discussed with me all my options for this tooth in a long run (which I really much appreciated cause I would rather take care of this now then pay twice as much later). Overall, I'm very pleased with this place. I definitely a loyal client of Dr. Moin (simply because I want to hold on to a really great doctor as soon as I find one), and I do highly recommend this place. read more

Hands down the most callous dentist I've ever been to. They *could* fix my teeth, but they just couldn't be bothered. If I didn't have insurance, I could understand. However, I do and so being handed my x-rays and told to go to someone else was a bit shocking. I suppose they might be worth going to for simple cleanings, etc. But if you need anything beyond a filling, look elsewhere. I had an exposed nerve, which was quite painful, and Dr. McIntyre openly said "I don't think it's worth my time to try fixing it". Way to treat someone in PAIN. Wallingford Dental Arts does not even deserve a single star. Some of the most painful and uncomfortable dental work I have experienced and that is before they charge a criminal amount of money for sub par work! A co-working of mine recommended Dr. Mac and after years of amazing dentistry from Dr. A. Misleh in California, I was looking for a solid recommendation. My initial impression was mixed. The receptionist was very nice and my hygienists was a little rough but not unpleasant. Dr. Mac seemed kind and competent and sort of wowed me with the "data" she was going to put together for my future treatment plan. I was a little surprised when I received a lecture about my dental hygiene. I had been to my old dentist regularly for over 5 years and always had great check ups. Only work I had done there was replacing a couple old metal fillings. But Wallingford Dental Arts made me feel really ashamed by my teeth. Then, when I came back to view my power point treatment plan, the doctor was recommending some pretty expensive work and really laid the guilt on hard. There was no way I could afford the out of pocket cost for night guards and braces so I declined the treatment plan. I tried to brush it off and still trusted the recommendation my friend gave me. I even encouraged my partner to transfer to the office. Over the next year, Dr Mac found 2 new fillings and both happened to be in "very tricky areas," requiring her to drill into neighboring teeth. She also recommended a crown for one of the fillings i had repaired in California. The estimate I received seemed very high to me but i chalked it up to Washington rates. I have Delta Dental which was also my California provider, but i know that coverage can change by state so i didn't question it. I elected for the fillings and denied the crown which I could not afford, cue another guilt trip. I paid my out of pocket fee and after 4 hours of pretty painful dental work, went on my way. Months later, I received a new bill in the mail that was larger then the first payment I made day of service. My old office seemed to have no trouble estimating my out of pocket very accurately and even gave me money back if insurance covered more than expected. But Wallingford Dental Arts seems to consistently underestimate by about 50%!!! And, to make matters worse, the bills are sent out months later, and give 3-4 days till payment is due!! My partner has had an even more terrible experience. Dr. Mac seems to have broken her tooth during her second visit. When she went back in to fix the problem, she was put through another many hours long, painful procedure, and then was charged an insane amount more than quoted for both visits! Even though the second visit was to repair a mistake from the 1st!!! This is an office full of crooks who will do whatever it takes to squeeze more money out of you!!!! DO NOT trust this office with your teeth or your money! I will never set foot in that building again! read more

The staff are amazing and the Doctor is so knowledgeable and professional, with just the right amount of love to keep me coming back... which is so much! To not answer that question honestly is horrible. The simple answer would have been, here are our standard costs, check with your insurance. I would have done so and then not gone there. I just moved away from Seattle, and boy did I miss Wallingford Dental Arts when I first tried a new dentist in my new hometown. Fortunately I've since found a great dentist, but after 7 years as a WDA patient, the bar was set very high! Everyone on the team is friendly, patient, and professional, and I got to the point where I didn't mind going to the dentist. I mean, who actually *enjoys* it? Their prices are ridiculous and they make you feel bad about your teeth. They made about 100 suggestions for how to improve my smile... including fixing my gums being too low on my canines, for aesthetic purposes only. They wouldn't stop their list of stuff to fix even when I told them I was fine with my smile. After suggesting two crowns, I decided I'd check with my former dentist (moved from Cap Hill to Wallingford) to see what they thought about the power point presentation and estimate I was given regarding my teeth. (I'm not kidding about a power point presentation.) Well, they said that they definitely didn't recommend the crowns, but if I wanted, they charged only $800 per crown while Wallingford Dental Arts charges $1600 per crown. I will say that the receptionist and the staff were extremely friendly, and they give you one heck of a goodie bag. They can certainly afford it! I've since returned to my dentist on Cap Hill. I'd rather make the trek there than have unnecessary (expensive) work done on my teeth. Also, no thanks for making me self conscious about how low my gums are some of my teeth!
