I moved to NYC a few years ago and still drive the 3.5 hours to Shrewsbury at least once a year to get my hair cut and colored by Katie. Her balayage technique makes my hair look amazing and it grows out perfectly so I can usually make it the full year before coming back for my next visit. The salon is clean, tidy, and stocked with a variety of good-quality products that Caren neither under- nor over-uses. Caren actually cut my hair dry first (something no one has done before, but something I'll inquire about from now on) and only once she was mostly done washed, did a little tidying, dried, and VOILA: I have a haircut that settled perfectly day-of and, more importantly, has settled perfectly every day since. I'm low-fuss when it comes to my hair (I wash with a little shampoo and ton of conditioner, and maybe use little leave-in coconut oil before air-drying, but that's about it). Caren's cut works perfectly for my normal minimal-maintenance days, and frames my face more nicely on days when I play a bit. Best yet, Caren's cut cost half of what a comparable job in San Fran would cost! If only I could take her back to the Bay with me, I'd have Caren cut my hair forever.
