4 stars??? I have never made a purchase like this before…read more I visited The Carpet Store because I was buying carpet for a Townhouse I had under contract. I wanted the carpet installed immediately after I closed . I went to The Carpet Store to pick out and purchase carpet. I went early on a Saturday morning. This place is a warehouse not really a "store". Several people were available to help fairly quickly. One to take the plans I brought in and attempt to measure, the other to help us select carpet. I did not know what I was getting myself into because I had no idea there were so many options and the entire process was confusing. From which brand, which material, which padding and the most difficult decision, which color... I was not prepared but I knew I was making a decision that day. Two hours later, I knew a bit more about carpet and padding and stain resistance, etc. We put down a $1000 deposit so they would make an appointment to measure which was scheduled the next week, once they measured, the carpet was ordered and took about a week and half to come in. Long story short, we did not close on the Townhouse and were refunded $750 of the $1000 deposit that was for approximately $3000 worth of carpet. We have about 6 months to use the $250 credit. I am giving 4 stars because this was a difficult process and I have nothing to compare to. The Carpet Store did a pretty good job helping us through it he process. I think!

My tile was to be installed in less than a week, all the while I'm made to assume that my tile is waiting to be picked up. I get a call from the carpet store telling me later that my tile is not available. This is the last thing you want to hear when time is of the essence. Perhaps it was due to the crisis that the tile didn't make it in time. Who knows! I was told I'd hear back with an alternative that closely resembled the original, never heard back. I'll give them a 3 star rating for the initial service I got from them, but this was a big time waster for me.

Zero stars - forced to pick one…read more Poor attention to detail and ZERO care for the customer. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I had my floors redone in January of 2022 and now have had water coming up through the foundation from under the planks. Turns out they did not put down a subflooring liner prior to installing the luxury vinyl planks - I was told that in 2022, it was not required to put a subfloor down as it is now. In the instructions, it was recommended for high moisture installations. Given that I live in FL and my house is right next to a lake, that would make this a high moisture installation and they should have put one down. But according to them, they were not required to do that so they ignored the warning and had no care for the customer. I had a separate floor company come out to check it out. He said it was installed incorrectly and that they should have put the subfloor down regardless of it being required or not. The water that is coming up is from hydrostatic pressure in the foundation, which is very common in FL and also this area of town given the bodies of water/humidity. Recently they had someone come to the house to do an "assessment" and found that basically the whole floor needs to be replaced. When I asked for a copy of the assessment they won't provide me with one as per "company policy" but then also couldn't tell me why that policy is in place. After all of that, they offered to replace the floors as a paid service with a discount (LOL NO TY). I will be contacting a lawyer about this. I repeat - DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I mean, if you want half-baked work, then these are the people you should call but keep in mind, you'll have more work to be done later on because of them.

Dispute Statement - Carpet Barn…read more This dispute concerns carpet installation services performed by Carpet Barn for my home in Odessa, Florida (Home #2). On February 9, 2026, my wife and I purchased a new home in New Port Richey, Florida (Home #1). We hired Carpet Barn in Tampa, Florida, to replace the carpet. Pat handled the sale. We selected a carpet that was in stock and specifically requested their best carpet pad, which Pat described as an 8 lb pad. The total price was $3,700, and the installation was completed without any issues. Because we were very satisfied with that experience, we later contacted Pat to carpet our home in Odessa, Florida (Home #2), which we were preparing to sell. We selected a less expensive carpet than we had installed in Home #1 but specifically requested the same 8 lb premium pad. Pat initially quoted $6,500. Since we wanted to delay the project while catching up on other expenses, my wife returned the carpet sample. During that visit, Pat offered to reduce the total price to $5,900, stating that business was slow. Before accepting the offer, I specifically confirmed that we would still receive the same premium 8 lb pad used in Home #1. Pat confirmed this multiple times. She also confirmed that the quoted price included all taxes and fees. Approximately one week later, after confirming again that the premium pad would be installed, I placed the order. Pat initially requested a $1,000 deposit, but later agreed to accept $500, which I paid by credit card. A few weeks later, Pat called to schedule installation. Before the installation, I again confirmed that the premium 8 lb pad would be installed, and she again assured me it would. After installation began, Pat informed me that Carpet Barn had incorrectly measured the house and was two rooms short of carpet. She stated that additional carpet had been ordered from the same dye lot and would be installed later at no additional charge. Despite the project being incomplete, she requested the remaining $5,400 balance, which I paid by credit card. The measurement error delayed the sale of my home. When I inspected the installation, I discovered numerous problems: The installation quality was significantly worse than the work performed at Home #1. The installers damaged multiple door casings and trim. Black handprints were left on freshly painted walls. Numerous carpet seams throughout the home were highly visible. Carpet had been unnecessarily pieced together in multiple areas. Most importantly, Carpet Barn installed a lower-quality carpet pad instead of the promised 8 lb premium pad. Because two rooms had not yet been completed, I was able to compare the installed padding with the new padding later installed in those rooms. The difference in thickness and feel was obvious. The pad installed throughout most of the home was not the premium 8 lb pad that I had repeatedly requested and been promised. I immediately contacted Pat and explained all of these concerns. She insisted the pad was the same, despite the obvious difference. I told her I believed this was a bait-and-switch because I had confirmed the premium pad multiple times before agreeing to the purchase. I also requested to speak with the owner on three separate occasions. Each time I was told he was unavailable, and although I requested return calls each time, the owner never contacted me. When the additional carpet finally arrived, different installers completed the remaining two rooms. Those installers used the premium pad that I had originally requested, and the difference was immediately noticeable. However, the carpet color in those rooms did not match the rest of the house, despite Pat stating it came from the same dye lot. The installers also stated they would not repair all of the visible seams because they were not being paid to do so. As a result, I was left with: Incorrect carpet padding throughout most of the home. Multiple visible carpet seams. Carpet patches in unnecessary locations. Color mismatch in the final two rooms. Damage to trim, door casings, and walls that required me to pay my painter for repairs. Delays affecting the sale of my home. In addition, despite repeated requests, Carpet Barn never provided signed work orders, signed invoices, or signed credit card receipts for either Home #1 or Home #2. My final attempt to resolve this matter directly with Carpet Barn was on June 1, 2026. Despite multiple requests, the owner never returned my calls or made any effort to resolve these issues. I am disputing these charges because Carpet Barn failed to provide the materials and workmanship that were promised. The installation was substandard, incorrect materials were used, my home was damaged during installation, the final carpet color did not match as promised, and Carpet Barn failed to resolve the matter despite repeated opportunities.

After paying a 50% deposit on July 10, I was told I would be scheduled immediately. That didn't happen. I had to follow up multiple times just to get a start date. Communication was poor and unprofessional, with broken promises and missed callbacks. The crew finally arrived on July 29. The tile was installed with an extremely thin grout line--something I was never asked to approve but chose to accept. They said they would return the next day to grout and then come back the following day to move the heavy furniture back, which was the agreement I had in place with their representative. Instead, they grouted the next day and replaced the furniture less than an hour later, ignoring the recommended 24-hour grout curing time. When I called the project manager, his dismissive response was, "What do you want them to do?" The crew came back to remove the furniture, clearly annoyed, and became argumentative and disrespectful in my home. One even said they used a thin grout line specifically so they could move the furniture sooner. Later, I was contacted by someone in management, Jonny Sibrian, whose tone was equally rude and condescending. I explained I was arranging a third-party inspection to ensure the tile wasn't damaged due to rushed furniture placement or the use of vinegar (an acidic cleaner that can harm uncured grout). Instead of understanding, he accused me--twice--of trying to avoid paying my bill and even made a veiled threat. I've always paid for quality work, and I fully intend to pay the balance if the job passes inspection. But the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disrespect I experienced with this company were unacceptable. I would not recommend Perfect Choice Flooring to others based on how I was treated or the quality of their work.
