Terrible customer service. i used them once in the past and I had to cancel today's install because they said they were on the way and then 3.5 hours later, I couldn't even get a time window. One of the five CSR's I spoke with interrupted me every time I would try to answer and then screamed at me when I asked her to stop interrupting me and put me in touch with a supervisor. then she got back on the phone and said that she couldn't cancel the install because the address that I was giving didn't match the address they had. And the next person I spoke to said that they were not available to come at all today so they would give me a discount if I wanted to wait another day. They are a circus. read more

Zero stars - forced to pick one. Poor attention to detail and ZERO care for the customer. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I had my floors redone in January of 2022 and now have had water coming up through the foundation from under the planks. Turns out they did not put down a subflooring liner prior to installing the luxury vinyl planks - I was told that in 2022, it was not required to put a subfloor down as it is now. In the instructions, it was recommended for high moisture installations. Given that I live in FL and my house is right next to a lake, that would make this a high moisture installation and they should have put one down. But according to them, they were not required to do that so they ignored the warning and had no care for the customer. I had a separate floor company come out to check it out. He said it was installed incorrectly and that they should have put the subfloor down regardless of it being required or not. The water that is coming up is from hydrostatic pressure in the foundation, which is very common in FL and also this area of town given the bodies of water/humidity. Recently they had someone come to the house to do an "assessment" and found that basically the whole floor needs to be replaced. When I asked for a copy of the assessment they won't provide me with one as per "company policy" but then also couldn't tell me why that policy is in place. After all of that, they offered to replace the floors as a paid service with a discount (LOL NO TY). I will be contacting a lawyer about this. I repeat - DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I mean, if you want half-baked work, then these are the people you should call but keep in mind, you'll have more work to be done later on because of them. read more

Empire Floors is there to sell you floor covering without knowing what they are doing to ensure a properly installed product that will last as long as it is supposed to last. We had wood laminate flooring installed by them a few years ago in a spare bedroom that we use as an office. The boards have buckled and come up in multiple places. They had someone come out to assess. This person told us that it happened because they did not first lay a moisture barrier. (I do not think he was supposed to tell us this). After he left, there was no communication from Empire Today. We have had to make numerous phone calls with no response. When we finally got to speak with someone, they said they are not going to do anything about it because it was a moisture problem. ? (They did not give a viable explanation). We have had wood floors throughout the other rooms in the house for the 15 years we have been there, (not installed by Empire) that are perfect. We also had a flooring expert come and tell us that they were not properly installed with the standard moisture barrier. Empire should not be in business. They are ripping people off by improperly installing floors that have to be redone in short order. They are absolutely not 'dedicated to customer satisfaction' as they state. It is a very small bedroom that would cost them a few hundred dollars to correct their mistake. But they'd rather anger and rip off customers who will now have to spend triple that to have a real company come and completely install a new floor. I had a terrible experience with Empire Today. I placed an order for vinyl flooring to be installed on a staircase leading to my garage and paid 50% of the total cost upfront. From the beginning, many of the flooring options I was shown turned out to be discontinued or unavailable--a clear sign of poor inventory management or misleading sales practices. I was offered next-day installation, which was one of the reasons I chose Empire, but that promise quickly fell apart- and was scheduled a week out. Amanda from Empire cancelled my installation less than 24 hours before it was scheduled. Despite multiple attempts, both Amanda and the manager Jasmine failed to return any of my phone calls. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Thankfully, my sales agent Dwayne went above and beyond--he came back to my house on his day off the night before installation for a last-minute re-selection, and even called the warehouse to confirm the new floors were available. We were all set--until I got another phone call at 6:45 AM on the morning of installation saying that it was cancelled again due to lack of materials. They rescheduled the job for a day I was not available without even confirming with me. This experience has been a complete waste of time, full of high-pressure sales tactics and what felt like a bait-and-switch contract. No one in leadership has returned my calls. I was offered no resolution and no refund. I am now working with American Express to dispute the down payment for services that were never rendered. Waiting on Empire to provide any resolution to the damage they caused my property from a lvp install. They reinstalled the master bathroom toilet incorrectly, leading to water damage on the first story roof. They broke the grill of a brand new fridge. They reinstalled a brand new dishwasher incorrectly so now it doesn't drain and has standing water. They broke a slat on a vertical blind, didn't say anything and just threw it away. The sliding glass door in the living room is now barely able to be opened, either from excessive glue usage or the inability to measure correctly. Glue is all over our brand new cabinets and countertops. I submitted a claim 2 hours after the install was completed on 10.21.24. I have called and been passed back and forth from rep to rep with no real resolution in sight. We used Empire at our previous home with no issues. Our experience is extremely disappointing. As it stands, I will end up spending close to the same amount of money repairing the damage to my property that I spent on installing the floor. If you value your home, time, money or have any self respect, you will stay far away from this company. Update: 10.23.24 Received correspondence from the Tampa FL installation manager via email on 10.23.23 stating we should have paid out of pocket to resolve any plumbing issues caused by their installation team. They will send out a team member to reinstall the toilet but fail to understand how they can have any responsibility for any of the damages they caused during the installation. As it stands, the Tampa FL Empire location does not operate in good faith. Update: 10.27.24 It has officially been a week since the installation was completed and I have still not been scheduled a time for anyone from customer service to resolve the installation issues. I have been given phone numbers that are not even for the same region or have just been ignored entirely. We ended up just hiring a plumber to fix the toilet, because it's actually necessary to have one operational in a home. The plumber provided pictures of the wax seal before and after installing the new item. They stated any installation crew regardless of if they are "plumbers" or not would know that this would cause issues, as there was no seal, and the toilet was just floating in the air hypothetically. This was caused by the height difference from the old floors and new, something a flooring company is and should be aware of. The sliding glass door still barely opens. Empire refuses to acknowledge that a door that rubs against newly installed floors is their error. The owner that responds to these reviews does nothing. This is 100% optics with no actual action from the company. The contract locks us into arbitration, which is something we will explore once we get quotes on repairing the sliding glass door, dishwasher and fridge that were damaged by the installation crew to see if it's even worth investing the time and resources for counsel. The worst experience of my life. Installers created damage to flooring that was unrelated to the installation. I contacted Empire Today and submitted a claim. I was told that they will not pay for damages that occurred by installers. They were so dishonorable that they have not called for spoken to me outside of email. They sent the same people, who I complained about. They had to pull everything out and re do the entire process, thats how bad it all was. One threatened me so I started to dial 911. Thats bad. Empire blew me off completely. The pressure for insurance on flooring was irritating. Who would have thought the flooring pieces would be popping up months later?. I hired Empire to install LVP in my condo in October 2023. After pulling up our carpet, the installer informed me that our slab was cracked and they would need to apply a solution to the slab to make it level in order to install the floor (it's glue down LVP). This would cost an additional $1000. I agreed given that I no longer had flooring and needed a floor. They applied the solution to the slab but also got it all over the walls and trim. I expressed to the installer that I was not happy that this gray, concrete-like solution was now all over our trim and walls. I was guaranteed that they would clean this off before the install was complete. They installed the LVP and surprise surprise, the floor is not level. So they charged me a grand for absolutely nothing. Was the leveling treatment cleaned off my walls and trim? About 85% of it. The other 15% that was not cleaned they attempted to hide by (poorly) installing quarter round trim. There's also glue from gluing down the LVP on the planks themselves in every room as well as our walls and door handles which I've had to spend hours removing. But the pièce de résistance was finding a Gatorade bottle filled with human urine hidden under the sink in my guest bathroom today, weeks after the install has been completed. Neither my husband or myself were the origin of this disgusting biohazard and we're the only 2 people who live here. So if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... After this experience, not only will I never use Empire again but neither will my friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors. Anyone who asks me or speaks to me about installing new floors or home improvement gets my very honest review of Empire: don't waste your time and money, find literally any other flooring company on the market. read more

The following week the 3rd party doing the work came to my house and said they didn't have enough material and said they would be back the next week. Then it all goes downhill. Literally, the most horrible experience I've ever encountered with the purchase of flooring & installation. Although I felt the price was high, I needed the carpet and I enjoyed working with the salesman and I didn't have the time to price shop. I ordered the carpet on a Monday and scheduled installation for the following week on Tuesday. I had many things to do to prepare for the installation, including removing the old carpet, padding, tack strip, and adding baseboard, and painting to bedrooms. I literally killed myself doing all of this work myself to ensure that it was completed before the scheduled installation date. shortly after the sale, I was contacted and asked to move the installation to Wednesday because they could not find an installer for Tuesday. I agreed. Finally the day of installation arrived and I was absolutely exhausted and couldn't wait for the process to be over. The installer showed up first thing in the morning, despite the company had not given me a time or even a window. This was fine with me, however, when the installer rolled out the carpet in the parking lot to cut for the first room, I realized the color was not correct. He had brought a sample to my door a very small piece and I did say that I wasn't sure if it was the right color, it was too small to really tell. I was glad I went down when he was cutting the carpet, because I immediately noticed that it was clearly not the correct color. In fact, even the sample that he handed to me was not the same color as the carpet that was rolled out. I immediately contacted the company to make them aware that they sent the wrong color carpet. They insisted that it was the correct carpet, but the carpet color that I selected, had a brown undertone, and this carpet was clearly & simply a light gray. They insisted they needed to have the installation done the following day so that they could get another installer to get the correct carpet and bring it. They sent me various text messages with pictures, seeking my approval, but I could not approve color based on pictures taken with a phone. They assured me that the other roll they found matched the sample that I selected from. Now we were looking at installation on Thursday. I was promised the installers would show up between 8 AM and 10 AM. At 9:15 AM I receive a call from the installer who tells me he won't be there for 2 1/2 hours because he made the mistake of going to another job first, not realizing mine was supposed to be down first. This was unacceptable. 3 1/2 hours after the window that I was given, despite having called me again to tell me they were on their way in about 20 minutes away. They actually arrived an hour and a half after that call. And then to make matters even worse, the carpet was the wrong color again! The installation scheduling manager was not nice. He tried every which way to make this anyone's fault but theirs. $1800 for 2 small rooms of carpet is a lot of money to spend on such poor service. I ultimately cancelled the contract purely out of principle and pure disappointment/aggravation. 3 scheduled installation dates/times and STILL No carpet! I had to dismantle my entire office at 3AM the day of installation and I have currently been unable to work for 3 days...costing me more money! Subsequently I have since spoken to two other people locally who had similar situations with Empire and who both received flooring that they insist was not the correct color. But after major damage from Hurricane Ian last year lots of people in my area are desperate for things they have gone without for more than a year now and just don't have the energy to battle. I'm starting to see a pattern here where Empire Today may be taking advantage of customers in areas like mine by pawning off materials that weren't actually ordered, knowing how desperate people are. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. Buy from a local business, rather than a chain. They'll value your business and referrals more and treat you with the respect you deserve as a paying customer. BTW, I found a local wholesaler who had a suitable carpet in stock, arranged for the carpet to be installed the next day and I saved $750 over the price I got from Empire. No Good! Don't waste your money. These guys spend their money on ad's not on their warranty work. We had carpet installed in three rooms and LVP installed in the "office". When we called to have someone looking cracking on one of the tile planks, they informed me that we NEED to have a protective mat. Not having the mat voids the warranty. Installed on 8/22/22. When you are purchasing flooring for your home, unless you are an expert, you must rely on the experts to give you the best advice. I had just purchased a 3,000 ft² home in a nice community and wanted something that would represent the home well. I asked the Empire representative when he came over, what type of flooring would best approximate real wood. He showed me a laminate product that I eventually bought. The problem is when you look at flooring in the book display, it's hard to know exactly how it will look once it's deployed on your floor. Initially after it was deployed there were a few issues I asked them to correct, and I felt that under my feet the padded feel of the wood did not feel like the actual hardwood I grew up with. But I felt that as long as the appearance held up, I would not make much of a fuss. A few years later, and warping has begun to take place as well as chipping around areas of wear. Now it is very apparent that I have a fake wooden floor. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid. If I needed to spend more money on something that approximated real wood, rather than lie to me to get a sale, they should have told me the truth. I never again will use this company and I will advise others to avoid them. Go with experts who will listen to your requirements and recommend the best product regardless if the price is high. Furthermore, if someone suggests using a lesser product, the expert should tell you, based on your requirements the cheaper product absolutely will not meet expectations. BUYER BEWARE!!!! This is the WORST company I've ever dealt with. The techs broke a precious glass picture that was sentimental and was NOT told about whatsoever. I noticed it after they had left. Which is beyond unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I was NEVER told that a patterned carpet would take 10-12hrs to install for an 800sq ft area! Had a mostly good start with the hardwood floor install portion of my job. However, the carpet install had some issues. When I tried to get someone at Empire Today to help, I was bounced around several times over several calls and unreturned messages. When I finally connected with someone who said he could help, my request for compensation for the issues was flatly declined without any real explanation. When I replied to the email I received denying my request (the rep didn't even try to call me back to explain their denial), Empire Today simply fell silent and refused to even reply to my emails at that point. Hiring Empire Today was a horrific experience. Getting our floors properly installed was exhausting. Empire Today uses outside contractors who aren't qualified for the job they were sent out to do. Four crews were sent to our home. One crew didn't speak any English. The flooring is installed haphazardly. Our wall to wall carpet was cut to short and didn't go to the wall. Pieces were missing out of the carpet. The carpet wasn't stretched, kicked or stuck to the floor. Some rooms didn't have a threshold and the contractor said that Empire Today didn't put it on the work sheet so we don't get one. He said that we should put an area rug in the doorway so the carpet doesn't fray. The crew that installed our wood floors cut our door jams & door stops with a saw & left them too short. They said that is how it's supposed to be & left everything damaged. Empire Today didn't want to take responsibility saying that it's the contractors. The contractors say that they are not responsible that it's Empire Today. The contractors insist that you sign off on their shoddy & incomplete work. Empire Today insists that the next room & job gets started before the first job is complete. Empire Today sent the bill in to the loan holder before work was done. If you hire Empire Today be prepared for a stressful struggle & unethical business practices. Empire Today did have our first carpet ripped up & replaced but then they pulled their contract & left our job unfinished. I would advise you to stay away from this company. In my experience, they will be available for you at a moment's notice prior to the sale and installation. When it comes to helping with discrepancies they are nowhere to be found. How often do you call customer service to get a recorder that tells you an estimated wait time that increases with time? We had a contract for the entire house. When they showed up, it was nothing like the videos they have you see with installers in uniform. That is all hype to make themselves look better to entice you to their business. The installers were polite and courteous, don't get me wrong but that deception should have alerted me as to what was to come. When they started the installation, I was told they couldn't work the master bathroom because there was no separation between the shower and the floor and that would void the warranty. I talked to the salesman (Joseph Head) who told me they would install it and honor the contract. The next day I talked to the installation manager who provided more explanation. In essence, no master bathroom installation included removing the tile. This was the end of May. I promptly contacted Joseph Head to adjust the total price of the offer since I'm paying for more than the work required. He said he would work on it. Have yet to hear from Empire Today. The installation? These pictures speak for themselves. I was not aware of what they did under the dishwasher and stove until I had new ones brought in recently. There are some ends that will eventually be peeling off and some other ends are clearly not finished. There is a spot in the kitchen that it seems (and I'm guessing here) as if there was something underneath that finally gave up to the pressure because it is dented but is protruding from the bottom up. I have contacted Customer Service and finally got through 6 days ago. Received a service number but have yet to get a call from them. I contacted ET customer service and went through a lengthly process to get them all the information they needed to have a manager call me to discuss the issue within three days. A week later no call. We had Luxury Vinyl Planks installed 2 1/2 years ago. We were told that no moisture barrier was needed. Coming from Colorado and being so new to Florida we had no clue so trusted the salesperson. We started having issues within the first year. They sent someone out to repair but the issues keep getting worse and involving more rooms. Given how many hours I have wasted dealing with Empire, I opted to not waste more by going public with my experience, as it appeared my nightmare with Empire had finally ended in 2021. However, to my surprise and disbelief, I was wrong. I was issued a credit for my experience with Empire and fully financed my project through their preferred lender. My account with the lender is paid in full. Now, on day 346, Empire is demanding payment of the credit issued to me. So if you consider yourself one of the lucky ones that received a credit for what you endured as a result of Empire, be aware you may suddenly, on day 346 like me, find Empire demanding a repayment and ignoring your request for additional information. It will take many posts to fully detail my experience with Empire and it is almost impossible to pick where to begin: crooked floors, extensive mess, damage to home, inability to use or rent my home for months, damaged circuit breaker, blood on the wall..... yes, you read that correctly, blood on freshly painted walls, as well as credits that apparently aren't actually credits. So let me begin with Day 1: --The concrete slab was completely gouged in multiple locations from a jack hammer used to remove the tile and these pockets were not filled --The shop vac used to keep the dust to a minimum, during the tile removal, malfunctioned, thereby causing a complete "fog" of dust throughout the house. --A circuit breaker was blown by the jack hammer and would not reset, thereby needing replacement. --The flooring was laid at a crooked angle. --Many pieces of the flooring were cut short, instead of being cut to the proper length. --The lead installer cut himself and left blood on the wall. --My freshly painted walls had rub marks on them, from the installers, and required repainting. -- And the list continues... TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE service....if you can get any service. We had floors installed in April. After unbelievable administrative problems, we discovered they had missed the correct footage by 250 square feet. Diana Kovaz had no idea what the correct footage was. Then, we discovered she had totally not listened to what we needed and had calculated supplies and products to actually be one half of each room we spoke about. Once we finally got it installed, the bathroom laminated wood came up due to leaks. We have places in our dining room, living room and kitchen which actually make a noise like a fart when you walk on it. The floor feels spongy in many places. So we they came (the first three times to look at it), they always tore some flooring up but did not ever return to replace it. THESE PEOPLE INCLUDING THE LEADER DANIEL COULD CARE LESS ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY. BE SMART GO TO A LOCAL FLOORING COMPANY, IT IS NOT WORTH WHATEVER SAVINGS THEY PROMISE AT THIS CIRCUS. We are passionate about building customers for life and want to be sure that your concerns are addressed in a timely manner.  Unfortunately, my attempts to contact you have been unsuccessful.  Please contact me at your earliest convenience so I may work with you to resolve this matter. I have received the inspection report back from Empire inspector. Per report there is extremely high moisture levels in areas that have issues, this is a paid service repair of $709.00. Please advise if you would live to moved forward with paid repair. So I posted here about a month ago about this company. They came out to do a job and didn't have enough carpet. They contacted me, gave me a discount to give them a second chance. I agreed. They came out again today with the same amount of carpet. Not enough to do the job. This has got to be the most pathetic business practice even. I'm over the top angry. WTH. read more

Mixed feelings. Beware of what they try to offer you with financing. It is NOT what they say it will be. They have the amount, financing terms, and time but still get the payment incorrect. When I called to question it I was actually told "Well we got our payment from them on your order, it's between you and them now." Installers don't speak English and some spots are questionable. I scheduled an appointment with Empire Today for a flooring estimate. I received at least 4 notices confirming my appt. A couple of hours prior to my appointed time, I received a call from them explaining they have no one in the area to give me an estimate. They said sometimes they "just don't have any one in the area". I said "OK" and hung up. They called back and asked if I wanted to cancel. I told them they had already done that. They asked if I wanted to reschedule and I told them I didn't believe they would show up to do the work if they can't even show up to give me an estimate. A few days later someone from Empire Today called claiming to be from the "Corporate Office". He apologized and asked if I would reconsider and would I please allow them to come to my home and give me an estimate. He assured me they had made an error and that would not happen again. I scheduled an appointment for the following week. I received several more (at least 4) notifications during the week confirming my appointment. The appointment was for 3:00 - 5:00 today. I received a call at 2:30 and was told they have no one in the area. I said "OK" and hung up. Again they called back and asked if I wanted to cancel. I called their office and there is no "Corporate Office" trying to do the right thing, only salesmen telling people what they want to hear. They wasted 3 weeks of my time waiting for them to come out. I am trying to recover from the Florida hurricane and they are careless with people. I am writing this review to let people know that if you choose to use this company you cannot trust the info given to you by the sales people. They will lie or avoid truth just to meet their quota. They have no control over anything. I don't like to take time off work and not get paid because they can't show up or call giving me a reasonable amount of notice. Twice!!!! Shame on me!!! Salesman mislead us about quarter round on toe kick matching our cabinets and whisper walk being installed under LVP. Installers did not tell us our subfloor was not level causing flooring to be outside manufacturer's tolerance. They had to come back and replace the LVP after leveling the subfloor. Carpet pill on stairs does not match with each step. Installers damaged our existing toe kick and install manager, Tim, said they would not repair but would reimburse me for the repair. Still waiting on reimbursement and no one is returning my calls. Initial install was in December 2020 and I am still waiting on final resolution. Calls and emails to corporate go unanswered. I would not recommend Empire Today to anyone read more

I wish I would have done more research before getting my floors done by this company. The WORSE vinyl install job I have ever seen. I have had to phone tag with them to get them to come back and fix the bad job and even when they came back, the floor still were not done correctly! It's sad that people pay good money for a messed up job. Now I have to pay more money to have my floors done correctly! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!! read more
