They removed our toilet then put it back, ...twice. Just look at that seal. What's the deal?!?!
    Kelli B.

The work crew came back to re seat our toilets because the caulk disintegrated, discovered and broke away within days. Here we are some weeks later ARE THEY USING THE WRONG MATERIAL. This company is sketchyyyyyyyy

Waiting on Empire to provide any resolution to the damage they caused my property from a lvp install. They reinstalled the master bathroom toilet incorrectly, leading to water damage on the first story roof. They broke the grill of a brand new fridge. They reinstalled a brand new dishwasher incorrectly so now it doesn't drain and has standing water. They broke a slat on a vertical blind, didn't say anything and just threw it away. The sliding glass door in the living room is now barely able to be opened, either from excessive glue usage or the inability to measure correctly. Glue is all over our brand new cabinets and countertops. I submitted a claim 2 hours after the install was completed on 10.21.24. I have called and been passed back and forth from rep to rep with no real resolution in sight. We used Empire at our previous home with no issues. Our experience is extremely disappointing. As it stands, I will end up spending close to the same amount of money repairing the damage to my property that I spent on installing the floor. If you value your home, time, money or have any self respect, you will stay far away from this company. Update: 10.23.24 Received correspondence from the Tampa FL installation manager via email on 10.23.23 stating we should have paid out of pocket to resolve any plumbing issues caused by their installation team. They will send out a team member to reinstall the toilet but fail to understand how they can have any responsibility for any of the damages they caused during the installation. As it stands, the Tampa FL Empire location does not operate in good faith. Update: 10.27.24 It has officially been a week since the installation was completed and I have still not been scheduled a time for anyone from customer service to resolve the installation issues. I have been given phone numbers that are not even for the same region or have just been ignored entirely. We ended up just hiring a plumber to fix the toilet, because it's actually necessary to have one operational in a home. The plumber provided pictures of the wax seal before and after installing the new item. They stated any installation crew regardless of if they are "plumbers" or not would know that this would cause issues, as there was no seal, and the toilet was just floating in the air hypothetically. This was caused by the height difference from the old floors and new, something a flooring company is and should be aware of. The sliding glass door still barely opens. Empire refuses to acknowledge that a door that rubs against newly installed floors is their error. The owner that responds to these reviews does nothing. This is 100% optics with no actual action from the company. The contract locks us into arbitration, which is something we will explore once we get quotes on repairing the sliding glass door, dishwasher and fridge that were damaged by the installation crew to see if it's even worth investing the time and resources for counsel. Empire is an unethical and dishonest company specifically for the Tampa FL location. Please heed this warning as there is no benefit working with them. They will not stand by their work and are an extremely difficult.

I hired Empire to install LVP in my condo in October 2023. After pulling up our carpet, the installer informed me that our slab was cracked and they would need to apply a solution to the slab to make it level in order to install the floor (it's glue down LVP). This would cost an additional $1000. I agreed given that I no longer had flooring and needed a floor. They applied the solution to the slab but also got it all over the walls and trim. I expressed to the installer that I was not happy that this gray, concrete-like solution was now all over our trim and walls. I was guaranteed that they would clean this off before the install was complete. They installed the LVP and surprise surprise, the floor is not level. So they charged me a grand for absolutely nothing. Was the leveling treatment cleaned off my walls and trim? About 85% of it. The other 15% that was not cleaned they attempted to hide by (poorly) installing quarter round trim. There's also glue from gluing down the LVP on the planks themselves in every room as well as our walls and door handles which I've had to spend hours removing. But the pièce de résistance was finding a Gatorade bottle filled with human urine hidden under the sink in my guest bathroom today, weeks after the install has been completed. Neither my husband or myself were the origin of this disgusting biohazard and we're the only 2 people who live here. So if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... After this experience, not only will I never use Empire again but neither will my friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors. Anyone who asks me or speaks to me about installing new floors or home improvement gets my very honest review of Empire: don't waste your time and money, find literally any other flooring company on the market.

Horribly Unprofessional. 1. I paid for a service they couldn't perform. They provided a quote to install flooring on the staircase, which is why I selected them over competitors. 2. One month after installation gaps at seams of flooring. They returned to correct with glue. 3. At the end of the 1 year warranty they refused to return to close all of the seam gaps that had opened over the course of the last 11 months. Definitely not worth $11,600. Run.

i am a disabled combat vet and empires 3 party installers came out to install. they first said they coud not instal carpet over vynal flooring even though the carper being installed over the exsiting floor was do be empire. they then said they couldnt because of pet urine stains on padding these "pet urine stains were under the be and under a dresser that had never been moved, did i mention my dogs are female and 200lb rottie, how could they squat under the bed or dresser. to pee? the one installer became beligerent and waled off the job leaving this disabled 4 time purple hear veteran's funature on my pol deck and my entertasinment center blocking my kitchen access. the originall said they would have another installer come out but then less then 1 hour later jennifer (world-wide customer service manager called and said they were canceling the contract and would not move furnature back. it will cost me $7000 to make it right and meanwhile i am with out a kitchen for 2 weeks

I wanted the carpet installed immediately after I closed . I went to The Carpet Store to pick out and purchase carpet. I went early on a Saturday morning. This place is a warehouse not really a "store". Several people were available to help fairly quickly. One to take the plans I brought in and attempt to measure, the other to help us select carpet. I did not know what I was getting myself into because I had no idea there were so many options and the entire process was confusing. From which brand, which material, which padding and the most difficult decision, which color... I was not prepared but I knew I was making a decision that day. Two hours later, I knew a bit more about carpet and padding and stain resistance, etc. We put down a $1000 deposit so they would make an appointment to measure which was scheduled the next week, once they measured, the carpet was ordered and took about a week and half to come in. Long story short, we did not close on the Townhouse and were refunded $750 of the $1000 deposit that was for approximately $3000 worth of carpet. We have about 6 months to use the $250 credit. I am giving 4 stars because this was a difficult process and I have nothing to compare to. The Carpet Store did a pretty good job helping us through it he process. I think!

Dispute Statement - Carpet Barn…read more This dispute concerns carpet installation services performed by Carpet Barn for my home in Odessa, Florida (Home #2). On February 9, 2026, my wife and I purchased a new home in New Port Richey, Florida (Home #1). We hired Carpet Barn in Tampa, Florida, to replace the carpet. Pat handled the sale. We selected a carpet that was in stock and specifically requested their best carpet pad, which Pat described as an 8 lb pad. The total price was $3,700, and the installation was completed without any issues. Because we were very satisfied with that experience, we later contacted Pat to carpet our home in Odessa, Florida (Home #2), which we were preparing to sell. We selected a less expensive carpet than we had installed in Home #1 but specifically requested the same 8 lb premium pad. Pat initially quoted $6,500. Since we wanted to delay the project while catching up on other expenses, my wife returned the carpet sample. During that visit, Pat offered to reduce the total price to $5,900, stating that business was slow. Before accepting the offer, I specifically confirmed that we would still receive the same premium 8 lb pad used in Home #1. Pat confirmed this multiple times. She also confirmed that the quoted price included all taxes and fees. Approximately one week later, after confirming again that the premium pad would be installed, I placed the order. Pat initially requested a $1,000 deposit, but later agreed to accept $500, which I paid by credit card. A few weeks later, Pat called to schedule installation. Before the installation, I again confirmed that the premium 8 lb pad would be installed, and she again assured me it would. After installation began, Pat informed me that Carpet Barn had incorrectly measured the house and was two rooms short of carpet. She stated that additional carpet had been ordered from the same dye lot and would be installed later at no additional charge. Despite the project being incomplete, she requested the remaining $5,400 balance, which I paid by credit card. The measurement error delayed the sale of my home. When I inspected the installation, I discovered numerous problems: The installation quality was significantly worse than the work performed at Home #1. The installers damaged multiple door casings and trim. Black handprints were left on freshly painted walls. Numerous carpet seams throughout the home were highly visible. Carpet had been unnecessarily pieced together in multiple areas. Most importantly, Carpet Barn installed a lower-quality carpet pad instead of the promised 8 lb premium pad. Because two rooms had not yet been completed, I was able to compare the installed padding with the new padding later installed in those rooms. The difference in thickness and feel was obvious. The pad installed throughout most of the home was not the premium 8 lb pad that I had repeatedly requested and been promised. I immediately contacted Pat and explained all of these concerns. She insisted the pad was the same, despite the obvious difference. I told her I believed this was a bait-and-switch because I had confirmed the premium pad multiple times before agreeing to the purchase. I also requested to speak with the owner on three separate occasions. Each time I was told he was unavailable, and although I requested return calls each time, the owner never contacted me. When the additional carpet finally arrived, different installers completed the remaining two rooms. Those installers used the premium pad that I had originally requested, and the difference was immediately noticeable. However, the carpet color in those rooms did not match the rest of the house, despite Pat stating it came from the same dye lot. The installers also stated they would not repair all of the visible seams because they were not being paid to do so. As a result, I was left with: Incorrect carpet padding throughout most of the home. Multiple visible carpet seams. Carpet patches in unnecessary locations. Color mismatch in the final two rooms. Damage to trim, door casings, and walls that required me to pay my painter for repairs. Delays affecting the sale of my home. In addition, despite repeated requests, Carpet Barn never provided signed work orders, signed invoices, or signed credit card receipts for either Home #1 or Home #2. My final attempt to resolve this matter directly with Carpet Barn was on June 1, 2026. Despite multiple requests, the owner never returned my calls or made any effort to resolve these issues. I am disputing these charges because Carpet Barn failed to provide the materials and workmanship that were promised. The installation was substandard, incorrect materials were used, my home was damaged during installation, the final carpet color did not match as promised, and Carpet Barn failed to resolve the matter despite repeated opportunities.

After paying a 50% deposit on July 10, I was told I would be scheduled immediately. That didn't happen. I had to follow up multiple times just to get a start date. Communication was poor and unprofessional, with broken promises and missed callbacks. The crew finally arrived on July 29. The tile was installed with an extremely thin grout line--something I was never asked to approve but chose to accept. They said they would return the next day to grout and then come back the following day to move the heavy furniture back, which was the agreement I had in place with their representative. Instead, they grouted the next day and replaced the furniture less than an hour later, ignoring the recommended 24-hour grout curing time. When I called the project manager, his dismissive response was, "What do you want them to do?" The crew came back to remove the furniture, clearly annoyed, and became argumentative and disrespectful in my home. One even said they used a thin grout line specifically so they could move the furniture sooner. Later, I was contacted by someone in management, Jonny Sibrian, whose tone was equally rude and condescending. I explained I was arranging a third-party inspection to ensure the tile wasn't damaged due to rushed furniture placement or the use of vinegar (an acidic cleaner that can harm uncured grout). Instead of understanding, he accused me--twice--of trying to avoid paying my bill and even made a veiled threat. I've always paid for quality work, and I fully intend to pay the balance if the job passes inspection. But the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disrespect I experienced with this company were unacceptable. I would not recommend Perfect Choice Flooring to others based on how I was treated or the quality of their work.
