Ill say I recommend this urgent care because they have been helpful in the past but I did have one not so great experience with a male PA (i believe). I went in to confirm pregnancy via blood draw after getting several positive tests. I peed as soon as i got there because i just needed a blood draw for school, i did not expect to do a urine test. The medical assistant had trouble with my veins so they did a urine test. Keep in mind 1. I found out really early because I was tracking and 2. It was about 11 in the morning and urine was very diluted because i had to drink water for the urine test after peeing when I got there. The PA comes in and says "it's negative! You're not pregnant." It would have been nicer if he came in and said "it was negative, BUT i know you drank a lot of water in a short amount of time for the urine test so it may be diluted." He knew I was chugging water. He also went through pregnancy symptoms for me and seemed to be skeptical when I told him my breasts were not sore and I didnt have nausea. Because every woman experiences the same symptoms, of course! Long story short I go in to hear the heart beat in a week. Please get more female physicians/ PA's. read more

A male picked up the phone and id'd self as "medical assistant"...I called after being advised by NURSE AT MGH/W to call, saving a trip to Wal. He had an exceptional, BAD ATTITUDE PROBLEM (sarcastic beyond measure). I requested his name, and he refused to provide it and hung up. Before he rudely hung up, I had mentioned, just having an emergency. major surgery and arr. home from hosp. and rehab. a week ago. I was concerned about being in contact with an individual. w/ poss. flu symptoms, when being vulnerable, physically. He refused to respond to my question. My fam. and I are long-time residents of Bedford, and would advise everyone to STAY AWAY FROM URGENT CARE/BEDFORD. Their attitude is not warranted towards the ill. I've had amazing experiences here before but I'm over this place. I'll never go back! My daughter had a bad cough on a Sunday so I took her in to have someone listen to her lungs. The women working in front have been dismissive at best the last 2 times I have gone in. This time, I was yelled at for allowing my 10 year old to remain in the waiting room with her iPad. Simply put; if this is your policy, tell me when I come in!! We waited over an hour to be seen & got yelled at! Ridiculous!!! The NP was very professional & deescalated the situation well. She was very kind & I almost feel bad for the terrible review because of her bedside manner but due to the rudeness from the front of house, I won't be returning! I tried to make an appointment this morning. It turned into one of the more frustrating experiences I have suffered through for some time. Why? This location does not accept appointments by phone. So I tried to make one on their website: I selected the option saying I wanted to visit for non-Covid reasons, only to be thwarted by the website's insistence I answer yes or no to an (unclear) Covid-related question that seemed, in fact, to want you to choose between option 1 or option 2 (see screenshot). I tried clicking "no," because I didn't want to authorize something without knowing what, precisely, I was authorizing - but that was, apparently, an unsatisfactory answer and so I was unable to proceed to the registration page. Why does this matter? Well, I, for one, don't have a lot of confidence in a practice whose website is so poorly designed that it asks you to choose between option 1 or option 2, but only lets you select "yes" or "no." If you ran into a person who answered "yes" when you asked them what time it was, you'd probably think they were an idiot. read more

Ive been to this AFC before and at the very least they are usually efficient. I had a good experience with the front desk and the Medical Asst. The visit went down hill quickly from there. The PA (blonde woman on 12/1/23 1:45) entered the room appearing agitated. I discovered a tick imbedded in me the night before. Her bedside manner was deplorable. She discouraged questions and barked out the plan for short term antibiotics. I asked follow up questions and she repeated more than once I am telling you the protocol (which was very different from my last tick bite). Healthcare is not always the easiest career (having run clinics for 30 years) but if you cant be polite and work with your patients then maybe its time to consider a new line of business. I am sorry if she was simply having a bad day that caused her to be mean but "check it at the door". read more

Went to AFC Bedford yesterday to get a covid rapid test - had to wait over an hour just to get a routine car-side rapid test for travel. Which of course is irritating, but fine, I get it. However, I later got a call from them telling me the test was positive. This made zero sense to me, since I've literally gone nowhere and seen no one in the past few weeks. I asked how likely a false positive was, they said it essentially wasn't possible and there was no real reason to get a follow-up PCR test to double check. Knowing how incredibly unlikely it was that I was actually covid positive, I went and got a second rapid test elsewhere AND a PCR. BOTH of those follow-up tests came back negative. I called AFC Bedford back to let them know their test had been a false positive just in case they needed that info for response reporting or something like that, and the woman on the phone was incredibly dismissive and rude and said "no, that's not possible. You just need to call the department of public health so they can tell you what to do with your positive result", so I again reiterated that I have ample evidence that I am not covid positive, and she said "we don't get false positives here, so I don't know what to tell you." Not only was her response rude, but it was also incredibly inaccurate. False positives on rapid tests are not uncommon - the FDA has said this, as have many others. Just do a quick google search for actual stats and science. Your rapid tests aren't more special than all the other rapid tests on earth - there is a possibility of a false positive with all tests, whether they're "your tests" or not. I would expect people working in the medical profession to know this and not give out false information, and ESPECIALLY not do so in such a rude and dismissive manner. This was overall a 1-star experience, but giving 2 stars because the person who took my test was very kind and considerate, so he alone gets this place a slight boost. Point is - don't bother going here, especially for a COVID test, as they'll give you incorrect information, double down on that incorrect information, and do so with an attitude. read more

This was my 2nd visit, and my overall experience with this place is, PATHETIC !!! I visited this place when it was new, and had a fairly nice experience about 6-7 months ago. So this time I visited them again on 15th Jul 2020, to get myself tested for COVID-19... the place got super busy, and probably the management has NOT prepared themselves properly to scale-up with the demand... 1. Nobody picks up the call 2. They insist on you fill out online form, which is poorly designed, wastes 10-15 min. of your valuable time without saving any data 3. The staff seems to be crumbling under tremendous pressure, under resourced, and this is affecting their basic capability/decency to deal with the patients. 4. They seem to forget that I'm a customer, and will be paying them for the services 5. I got tested, and was told that they will call me back with the results. Nobody did... 6. When I called them back multiple times, I finally got someone on the call, who was in a huge rush to attend other pending calls... Their reply was, your COVID results are negative... and 'We don't call back if results are NEGATIVE'... this is the most bizarre statement I have ever heard from a testing lab? They won't inform patients if results are negative? They will definitely charge my insurance for the test done, but won't care to inform the patient about the results, if they are NEGATIVE... I hope management takes notice of what is going on, and show some appreciation to their customers... read more

This is our go to location for urgent care. Thought maybe I had sprained my ankle and wanted to get a quick check. Everyone very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Dr examined, had an X-ray and an ended up with an ankle support brace. Less than an hour and couldn't be happier with the care. Highly recommend! read more

No one answers their phone. They don't reply to their email either. Dealt personally with Haley and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. Never had anyone in the health industry treat me like that, specially when paying a high cost for a service. The most frustrating?? I had the most traumatic experience with AFC Bedford yesterday. I took my 75 year old dad who tested positive for Covid to get a prescription for Paxlovid and the PA-C in charge Elizabeth Kirstein was extremely rude, unfriendly, lost her cool, raised her voice in response to a question about paxlovid and sent us to the ER unnecessarily. I have had good experience with AFC Bedford till yesterday. Although I live in Bedford, I am not sure I would want to visit AFC Bedford in future with such an unpleasant person in-charge of medical care. This was my first time going to urgent care in my life and honestly I was BLOWN AWAY. I called the office at around 7:35 PM and spoke to someone named Ali; I frantically explained to her my symptoms and she was beyond calm, explaining that I could come in before 8PM and then be seen. Just her calm demeanor off the bat was able to put my worries to the side. I walked in at 7:45 PM, and if you work in any field where you deal with people and they walk in 15 minutes before closing you already hate them, the receptionist was super friendly, professional and beyond fast. She got me checked in and billed all in about a 10 minute span and I was called into the back by Ali, who turned out to be a medical assistant. She took my vitals and a comprehensive background, and I was seen by PA Simone right after that. Within 10 more minutes I was in X-RAY finishing up and getting my EKG, moments after, PA Simone came in and was giving me the breakdown and explained to me what she believed I was suffering from. She was extremely knowledgeable and broke down everything for me. I was out the door in no time and on my way. These women are such a good team, and really exemplified the healthcare professional ideology: super caring, professional and not showing one bit of concern for themselves staying well past closing to ensure I was feeling okay. When one thinks about urgent care clinics, the urge to do everything possible to delay the visit, comes to mind. Especially when what you have isn't as serious as one might think. When dreads what awaits them in the waiting room, the long Waits, The mediocre care did receive, since people in there are so overworked already... It was the complete opposite on my decsion today to visit this wonderful place. Kathryn and Meghan both greeted me with a smile and checked me in, there was literally no wait, and they were so friendly. I was there for something I thought was pretty dumb, just a small bruise that had expanded over a week's time. They offered me water out of a fridge, that was just out there today (not a month old and dusty) and Keurig was on and inviting. I was taken in immediately and seen by Alycia, who took the time to really assess my issue and cared... not just dismiss my complaint as frivolous. She asked great questions and told me the warning signs and what to do if things progressed. They had TVs on , with the Celtics ga me and HGTV, both of which I'm a fan of, so that helped...but a kicker is, there was a private TV in my care room where I was seen! So the barely 10 minute wait for the discharge paperwork, was me watching ten minutes off the Celts...felt like nothing!! I would normally not take tinge to write a review of a care clinic (I'm more of a foodie, lol) but the superb experience I had here, I just want people to know they don't need to cringe when they think if an urgent care clinic... Sometimes. If they choose this one. Go in and see these wonderful people, grab some coffee, and heck...even get your stuff diagnosed. Easy peasy. Almost looking forward to doing it again! read more

But last night, I was not sick enough for the ER and too sick to wait for an appointment during the week, so I went to the new AFC urgent care near Whole Foods. They were professional, caring, fast and efficient. They took care of me, diagnosed me, took x-rays and I was out of there in just over an hour. Soooo much better than the ER!! read more

Had a great experience here previously - but this latest time was abysmal. In my opinion, everyone - from staff to provider - clearly did not care about patient needs. Nurse did not properly take vitals and also fabricated my pain level (an underestimation - a clear indication of her rushing and not caring). When I was seen by Deni Bishop, FNP - she rushed through the assessment, spoke over me, and inched out the door during our conversation. Did not once ask if I had any questions. My family and I have had nothing but fantastic care here. We have gone in for everything from strep throat, asthma and even stitches. Never much of a wait (if any). Wanted a rapid COVID test on the weekend, and used this service for the first time. Everything was extremely efficient and friendly. Made the appointment online, called the prominently displayed phone number from my car when arrived. Within a few minutes, still in my car, I was given a quick exam (listened to lungs and heart, took temperature, and O2 level) by another staff member, and then another staff member administered the test. They make it clear that if the result is positive, you get a phone call, but if it is negative, you get an email with a link to log on to their website for the report. I've been to this center two times in the last few weeks for covid testing as well as for X-rays on my daughter's hand. The testing was efficient and professional. I was grateful for the quick results when so many in the country are having to wait for 7-10 days. On my daughter's hand, we were able to get a diagnosis quickly and they helped set us up with an appointment for casting quickly. Wow! what great service from AFC Urgent Care Bedford!  My family of 4 required an RT-PCR covid test to be administered in a very narrow time window for the purposes of travel.  The appointment webpage was having issues and I could not secure the appointments at the time we needed.  Lindsay took my call and walked me through the process to have the test administered to my family, and then made sure we understood exactly how the results would be sent out, confirming that I would have the timestamps on the lab results that my travel required. Our lab tech Laura, was upbeat and positive with a very gentle hand. She had my youngest, who is nervous about ANY medical procedure, laughing instead of crying.  A few minutes ago I received a call from Lindsay letting me know that the results were in and she confirmed how I should access them on the portal.   There is nothing more I could possibly ask from the service that we received at AFC Urgent Care Bedford. Tried to bring in our 8 month old for a high fever and turned away due to a new policy where they won't accept patients under 12 months. Never had any problems when we brought in our other child in at 6 or 8 months in prior years. Shameful that they'd rather limit their risk or reduce the cost of their malpractice insurance - all to save money rather than serve the patients they opened this office for. I have always hated that they ask quite loudly and in an open area what the reason for the visit is. As my reason was personal I did not feel comfortable staying out loud with others in the waiting room. Perhaps Urgent Care could think of a more HIPPA compliant way to access why individuals are coming into the facility (I work in healthcare so I know that is easier said than done). I grew up in Bedford and have come to the UC a few times once it's opened on the pure basis of connivence. While the clinicians and those working in the "back of the house" are particularly professional and inviting, where UC lacks is their customer service at the front desk. This reason has deterred me from using this exact UC in Bedford as my first choice (even though it's less that 3 mins away). Today specifically (8/5) while she wasn't rude to me, I witnessed the woman at the front desk respond quite in appropriately not only to the patients in person, but especially to every individual that called the desk. Urgent Care should understand and recognize that those picking up your phones and at the front desk make the first impression of your business. I get it...COVID has put a lot of strain on you...but it has for everyone. ALSO not every single person coming into a UC isn't just looking for a COVID test to go on their vacations. There are serious matters people enter this facility with where they should be treated with the upmost respect and shouldn't have to worry about being condescended in the process. read more

I went to the Bedford AFC urgent care office this past Saturday for severe left shoulder pain. I've never used a place like this before; I suppose on a Saturday I would have gone to the Emergency room, I am so very happy I chose Urgent care first! I was seen very quickly, the nurses and doctor where fantastic. The doctor took the time to go over my symptoms and explain what she thought was going on , she gave me a very good plan for the weekend and on Monday I went to my regular PC with diagnosis and recommendations. I've been around the block with healthcare and I am so glad I used this new option of Urgent Care. The offices are top notch, the people are caring and knowledgeable. To top things off, as I was sitting in my PC's office for my follow up I got a phone call from Urgent care asking how I was doing!! I'd advise anyone to go to this particular AFC Urgent Care facility you'll be getting great service and it's right down the street.... 8am-8pm seven days a week. read more
