My experience with the urgent care center itself is fine. It is their billing office that is that is a real and serious problem. Because I've had billing problems every time I've used this place, I go here only when there is no other choice. Billing twice for the same services or for equipment never received. Giving them a credit card is a problem because the billing office abuses this. 4 months after a visit they charged my credit card the full cost of a visit that I had paid in full on the date I visited. read more

Came here in the morning on a weekday as I hadn't been feeling well. I filled out a couple of papers and waited my turn. Waiting room is decent. They had a tv but it wasn't on. They have a fridge with water bottles and a Keurig if you want something hot to drink. I would say I waited about half an hour before I was taken back to a room. My vitals were taken and then I was seen by a PA shortly thereafter. Everything was very efficient and the staff were very nice. I had been here once before when I was sick and had a similar experience. I recommend this urgent care and would come here again. read more

Yesterday I saw Dr. Dang at AFC Urgent Care in Havertown. This was my first time at any urgent care, so I was a little apprehensive. The medical office I typically go to just abruptly closed, and I needed an immediate appointment. Dr Dang is highly competent, and he as well as his staff were professional, polite, and kind. The office is also extremely clean. The wait time was minimal. Dr. Dang diagnosed my problem, perscribed me an antibiotic, and I already feel better. My husband also saw Dr. Dang on two occassions, and had similarly positive experiences. My husband and I will definitely go again if we have an urgent medical need. read more

Horrible care and dismissive of your not feeling well. Sterile environment and asked me several times if I used drugs, alcohol, or smoked while suffering from dehydration. No IV for relief rather go to the pharmacy that is closed on a holiday for pills to help you from vomiting. Are you kidding me? I want my copay back. Will never return! Complete waste of time and went home for electrolytes and an ice pack. read more

I went to AFC yesterday as I broke my hand. They were more interested in my psychiatrists medications and why i was on then that giving me the help I needed. They gave me a splint - which by the way I cannot wear as it pushes against my broken bone. I felt judged the minute I walked in. I actually left with a broken hand and nothing was done. Medical malpractice if you ask me. Trmhe one redeeming aspect was that the owner was there and he did everything he could to get the provider to help me. Unfortunately to no avail as she had her preconceived notions because of the medicine I take for my mental illness- which have no impact on any medication they could have provided. I hate to do this because front line workers are suffering so much right now but sheesh this was unpleasant. They make you sit in a pool of sick people whereas every other urgent care in the 21st century has text or call where you can wait in your car, so I waited inside while my sick little patient was in the car. Then they called her and I said ok let me get her from the car and they absolutely couldn't wait 2 minutes and moved on to the next person. We did end up getting sufficient care but no call or text you when your appointment is ready? No 2 min grace period to get back to the room after waiting 45 minutes? read more

Jackie hung up on me multiple times and then told me she was going to call the cops if I called back again. The rudest, most incompetent receptionist. I'm a cancer patient, with very bad bladder pain that AFC has yet to resolve. Their doctor told me to call back if I'm still experiencing symptoms, but no one answers, you can't leave a message due to the mailbox being full, and then she threatened to call the cops on me due to me being sick, frustrated, and in pain. You'd think an urgent care medical office would have some type of bedside manner but that's not the case. Also charged me $155 to just be seen with no resolution. Nicole (office manager) called me later on a blocked number, telling me she would look into the issue, speak with the doctor, and call me back the next day to resolve the issue. Never called back. I've now been calling all morning, with no answer for about 30 minutes. Just for someone to answer and say "she's not in, she'll call you back" and hung up on me again. Very bad experience, my child injured his finger. I came here yesterday at 6:47PM. They asked us to fill in the form and pay the fee, and then told me that we couldn't do the X-ray today because it was after 5:00PM. And asked us to come the next day for the X-ray. The next day we waited in line again, took the X-ray, got the CD, and the front desk told us to go home and wait for the doctor's call. After waiting for an afternoon, the doctor didn't call. I couldn't help it, so I called the clinic, and the doctor remembered that he forgot to call us, and told us that the child's finger was broken and needed to change specialists. In this way, they easily delayed my child's medical time for a whole day. I am very disappointed. If they told us from the beginning last night that they couldn't take X-rays, we would choose to go to a more professional emergency room instead of delaying a whole day. read more

I just left this location feeling like I wasted my time. I came because I've been sick for the past couple weeks and Dayquil is not doing the job. I saw Dr. Patel and after a few routine procedures, he told me that I was most likely suffering from allergies and that a steroid may give me relief. I explained to him that I've been taking prescription medication for my allergies for a while, and that I could tell by the way I'm feeling that it's not my allergies and that I'm actually sick. He just kept saying "well I don't see this" and "there's no sign of that" or "it's most likely allergies" and it made me feel like he thought I was lying. I don't feel like he was really listening to me or cared about how I was feeling. I actually got in the car and cried because I was so frustrated that I drove all this way when I'm feeling like crap, only to leave with allergy medication when I know my body, and know that isn't the problem. I came to this urgent care last January 7 (around 4pm) and I will never go back. The doctor and the nurse are very nice but two ladies in front desk was rude. And I also felt discriminated, probably because I am Asian. A young lady told me that the copay is $25, but she charged me $75. When I found out she made a mistake, I asked her, but she responded to me with angry tone "What is that"? Then I show her the receipt that she changed me $75. She looked but didn't say sorry, didn't say a word. Then she fixed from the computer, print out and gave me the correct receipt and told me with a mocking tone "Keep that (the wrong receipt) if you want"! read more

I went to this urgent care last week around 6 PM on a weeknight. There was no one in the waiting room. I filled out the paperwork, and when I returned it to the desk, the 2 young girls sitting there chatting told me that my insurance requires up front payment. I knew this was not true, and told them this. Through discussion it came out that they require full payment up front, and would refund it when insurance payment comes through. Indeed one of the forms they wanted completed was a credit card release to charge. I refused to fill it out, and refused to pay $140.00 for a visit I knew would be covered by my insurance. We left this place without being seen and went to the Main Line Health urgent care in Broomall- about 10 minutes away. There I was told that I had ZERO copay! I was seen quickly and prescribed meds. The clinician spent a lot of time with us and was very thorough. I will NEVER step foot in the urgent care on Eagle Rd again. Ridiculous and cares more about their payments than caring for sick individuals. read more

I just called AFC Urgent Care on Eagle Rd to inform them that the Rx the MD prescribed for me last night has been ineffective. I was informed by the person taking my call that no MD is on staff today but that she spoke with a Physician's Assistant (PA) who told the person taking my call to tell me that my condition takes days or weeks to improve. A PA is NOT a doctor!!! Where is the "urgency" in this sort or practice and response?? This is just wrong!!! Will not be going here again if the need arises. Too scary & CREEPY!! After feeling sick for over a week, I finally decided to go to AFC Urgent Care. The front desk staff was amazing and after finishing the paper work I was taken back in under 5 minutes. After my vitals were taken, Dr. Patel came in and was able to listen to my symptoms, diagnose and provide information on how to treat my lingering cough in less than 10 minutes. He was super helpful and I would highly recommend center this to any family/friend that needs a quick check up!! Great experience! read more

I was SO Impressed with AFC urgent Care Havertown. I've been through horror stories with urgent cares/medical professionals. These girls that ran the office are ON TOP of it. The doctor was super quick and Thorough. I called asking for a rapid covid test and an actual human answered with human responses. They took me in within 15 mins. Pulled up, a nurse swabbed my nose. Results came back within 30 mins. Luckily I came back negative and asked to see the doctor anyways. He saw me and Diagnosed me with an ear infection and upper respiratory bacterial infection, all within 30 mins and Prescribed me Antibiotics. Thank god, there's finally a place that knows what they are doing. Oh, and then called me the next day and left a voicemail asking how I was feeling after the visit!!!! So nice. read more

We were quoted one price and then when it came time for the visit we were told that they made a mistake and it really was $100 more. We were told that no appointment was necessary for the blood work yet when we came we were told that we have to come back a different day at a certain time and get a different test before getting the test we asked for. Unfortunately, I had to visit twice in one week. The first time for swimmers ear, and a few days later for an allergic reaction. I saw two different doctors, both of whom were quite thorough, professional, and personable. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it for those minor illnesses when you just can't get to your primary care doctor. read more

Someone could literally be dying in their walk in lobby area and they wouldn't notice

Never in my life have I had such a poor experience, that I was inclined to leave a review. It started badly when I was told at the front desk that my medical insurance benefits have been inactive since 2008, but I had just had major surgery covered by that very insurnace x5 months ago. The front desk staff did almost less than the bare minimum to try and remediate the issue. They did not call the provider number on my card or try to look further than the very first screen they saw on the computer. Not only that, I was also told that I was required to pay upfront before I was allowed to be seen. Unless they don't have a billing department, I don't think that is truly necessary. However, the worst part was being seen by the PA-C Tim. I had entrusted him and knew it was my obligation to tell him all pertinent details regarding my condition. I told him that I had began taking doxycycline to treat my condition. It was then that he began berating me and scolding me about taking a "skin antibiotic." He accused me of stealing from my job and asked why I would not have asked the doctors that I work with to write me a prescription (which would be wildly inappropriate.) He continuously asked "why would you do that?" Even after I had said that I did not come here to be yelled at. He then continued to tell me that I would develop a RESISTANCE to the doxycyline that I had taken for THREE days. I have personally worked in healthcare for the past three years, I am not saying that I was "right" to take unprescribed medication, but I have never witnessed such terrible and disrescpetful bedside manner. To be criticized like I was his own child was shocking. Even if I had told him that I regular use cocaine and take unprescribed percocet that is no way to provide patient education. I felt trapped in the reprimanding that all I could do was look away and repeat that this was not why I came here. I was so exhausted with the entire experience that I cried the entire way to the pharmacy. Horrible, terrible experience. This is the exact reason that Urgent Cares are a complete joke to providers in hospitals and private practices. read more

Walked in and was seen within 5 minutes. Nurse was good took my son's vitals. The doctor came in with a snoody attitude he acted like he didn't want to treat my son at all. He looked at my son and was like I'll right a script for his allergies I'll be back and left. I'm not the type of person to accuse someone but it felt because we were black that we got that treatment. I pray I'm wrong but I felt very uncomfortable. I just wouldn't return, just because your a doctor that doesn't mean you don't have to be kind and caring. I pray no one treats you like we were treated. read more

The Doctor REFUSED to treat me before examining me! The nurse took me into a room and I told her I had a sinus infection with orbital pain and a possible UTI. The nurse said the doctor doesn't treat sinus infections. Dumbfounded, I said, I have a strong history of sinus infections causing cellulite under the left eye. I am also immunosuppressed from a kidney transplant due to genetic reasons. (I also have everything I'm saying documented in mypennmed online management system). The doc has to see me. The nurse rolled her eyes and took my blood pressure. I indicated it was higher than normal. The nurse left and the doc came in. Before examining me, the doctor said she doesn't treat sinus infections and she refused to treat me. She said go to your PCP. I told her they were closed on Saturday and that was why I was there. Again, without even examining me, she said she refused and my payment would be refunded. Seriously? What kind of doctor doesn't even examine a patient? Especially one with my health history? I went to another urgent care and not only did the doctor examine me for a sinus infection and UTI, she also checked my kidneys. I was placed on a stronger medication and I do have blood and white cells in my urine meaning UTI. For me, a UTI could quickly do into my transplanted kidney and reduce its functionIng. Do not go here! !! There are so many better urgent cares in our area!! read more
