I came here for the COVID-19 free test on Saturday at 10:30am. The wait was an hour-hour and a half which had me frustrated at the time but reflecting it really isn't a bad wait time for a free test. They have everyone line up out front and bring people into the office as people leave. All must wear face masks. You will need your ID and insurance card. Once you are called back they take your temperature and heart rate. Next, they use the nose swabs and test is done. You are then given a paper with the information for where to go online for your results. I was informed results take two-three days and you are able to track your test as it is processing. While waiting I observed numerous "patients" be very rude to staff and the staff responded politely every time and provided excellent customer service.

Best thing about this place is you can register online before coming in. I decided not to make an appointment before hand since I feel like making appointments at any doctor office doesn't get you in any quicker. The waiting area offers a mini fridge of cold bottles water, a keurig coffee machine and a rest room. Plenty of seating in the waiting area. The front desk is for sign in and also offer sanitizing gel. There is a tv to watch GSN (Game Show Network), a few peaceful paintings of zenful green to calm the soul. After waiting an hour I was called back: vitals taken- weight & BP. All other questions sucks as medicine allergic too asked in room. Dr. DeLoach was in and out in like a minute. Checked my throat, ears, tenderness in my face, and listened to my chest. Told me I'd need the zpak & otc robitussin. The nurse also mentioned that he previously was an OB/GYN and has 25 years experience in that field. So any concerned pregnant mommies know your in good hands if you get sick he knows what's safe for you to take. From what I heard while waiting for the doctor to come in, one staff member said to a patient, "alright now let's get you outta here so you can enjoy the rest of your day". That right there is what people like to hear and of course to reciprocate that back to the staff because they've worked a long shift helping sick or injured patients. Thanks for all your hard work to get your patients feeling better and on their way!

Record transference from another Baycare facility doesn't happen, even if you wait 3 months for first appt. Maybe it's just me and my spouse, who were lucky ones that were dropped by our primary because their hours were reduced, that we needed to choose a new dr. In spite of a free annual through our insurer, asking anything health related caused a new office visit charge to apply. My first visit when all the referrals and procedures , EKG, done in office were billed they'd total in excess of $1000. Blood, Echo, Diabetic nutritionist, ophthalmologist, cardio, all ordered , because of general overweight and slightly raised AC1 would have been 1500 if all done. I have to make known my insurance limits before going back for more 'pain.' i might agree to only taking care of one thing at a time. It was all very frustrating, especially when a followup a reveal of the AC1 same results were slightly less than the previous one diagnosed as Diabetes. Why has my health costs so dramatically increased since my regular primary care dr's last appointment 3 months prior, am I dying? My wife's new patient visit wasn't any better. She was told her blood pressure was elevated and required an immediate EKG by the dr. She tried to explain maybe the cortisone injections she received the prior day and the resulting pain played a part. This was refuted by the nurse, who also refused to tell her her blood pressure. Answering the dr need to be consulted and would do the EKG, what a comedy of 3 stooges variety, even with the main characters , running out the door only to return with electronic medical devices in preparation for the Dr to use, and running back out to advise on this 'critical' patient. My wife's preempted response was no problem, promising to return when her health and blood pressure were normal enough to be shared, lol. If I go back there, it'll be just to see if 'standard of care' and patient's EOB responsibilty can live together in harmony at Baycare facilities.

Dr Torres and Nurse Practitioner Singh and D The volition of Dedicated Seniors model plan they had is failing They must strive to achieve a better stabilization of staff. The staff is like a revolving door. There is no continuity of care with Senior patients when you are constantly firing and pulling staff from other centers to cover. Then the other staff goes back to their original center and you have to deal with more new people who don't know your situation or medical issues. Quit UNPROFESSIONAL THEY ARE NO LONGER A PATIENT ADVOCATE! I have only been there for 16 months and they have created a negative environment and they aren't informing the patients of any changes. "That is "not until the situation arrives! When I joined there was a beautiful, warm community that connected with the patients and knew what made us happy and spent time with us. There were all sorts of events and activities and healthy snacks with a progressive, clean and organized used clothes section and free farm days with wholesome vegetables and fruits. . You didn't find out about it by patients talking about it. The staff let you know everything that was available to you. The whole staff encouraged movement and they understood the importance of independent mobility. The staff was happy and friendly with each other. Now just the opposite, no one except one or two people smiles and look you in the eyes. No one acknowledges that you entered the Center. Staff is nervous, not talking, looking for things, feeling uncertain and uncomfortable and it reflects in their non connection with the patient. Who wants to go to a center where no one is friendly and afraid and avoid questions. I don't like being lied to. To avoid answering a question when they know the answer but is afraid to say it, is an act of lying. Last week we had our regular scheduled Tai Chi class. All of the patients who attended drive their own car to get there. Which is costly because of high gas prices but they love the instructor and know the importance of movement for the elderly. Upon arriving people in the class told us it was canceled and that the instructor had been notified. They knew that it was very unlikely for the instructor not to notify them. So they waited in the lobby until the instructor showed up. We could not go into our usual meeting room because all of the staff were in a mandatory meeting where we had Tai Chi. The instructor asked what was going on and why wasn't she notified. They said they called the instructor and she said well that's me and no one called me to cancel the class. The instructor was very proactive and said well these people will have the class because I wasn't informed. So we all helped in moving chairs and tables and had our class there in the lobby. Which was a positive move by the management. We are all over 65 and need our exercise and socialization. It didn't cost the Center because everyone came with their own car, we set up the lobby and moved everything back. But they always use to have available water to drink for all of our activities because most seniors are dehydrated and don't drink enough. The hydration is important for activities, high blood pressure, different diseases and merely to encourage people to drink when exposed to sun and hot temperatures. There were salty snacks which is bad for blood pressure, renal problems and cardiovascular problems. No more fruit available in nearly 2-3 months . There are no more really good snacks. Most ships fail to sail with all new hand decks. The captain ( Dr Torres and his first mate nurse Practitioner Singh fortunately are still there at the helm. But they need help. I was told when I started that they had several Doctors in the Center working. I have yet to see another doctor unless they are rotating doctors divided between all of the Clinics. Too much has changed in my short time there since I arrived 16 months ago and I am not happy or satisfied. I have said goodbye to several friends who have moved on not because they wanted to go, but they weren't happy here anymore and the constant change in administrative positions has been poorly represented. There is no more unity or care team or patient advocacy! It left with all the people they got rid of. No one acts as if "patient care " is important. Gravely inadequate!!!

He's a very nice person and the staff in his office are also pleasant. But from a quality of care perspective, you should find another primary care physician. I made my appointment as a new patient a year ago. As is the case with US healthcare, I had to wait months for my appointment. My initial appointment, even though I had health concerns, was mostly just a meet and greet and filling out paperwork, including records request for prior doctors and specialists. And that was it. Paid a copay, and they billed my insurance company. Second visit was 4 months or so later. This was to give Dr Carlson time to review prior records. When I showed up, again, no exam at all. Dr Carlson spoke briefly about the records he received and wanted to send me out for blood work, even though I had blood work already. Turns out they didn't receive records from everyone, including a specialist who had just done an extensive blood panel a month or so prior. So, Dr Carlson sent me on my way while they attempted to get that paperwork. Had me schedule another appt in 4 months. Copay and insurance billed again, for nothing. Fast forward to this past week and my last appointment. Dr Carlson spent most of the time talking about all of the data he received from the specialist. And while he did ask me if I had any health concerns, he told me my questions were good ones for the specialist and I should ask him. He also suggested getting another opinion on my issues. But that was it. Once again, no exam. However, this time he said he was going to bill this as my annual physical because then I won't have a copay. I don't know why I didn't say anything then and there. I should have. But that's 3 visits. 3 times billing my insurance company and two copays. And one of them billing as an annual physical without giving me any type of exam. What kind of doctor or medical practice is this? How do you have me come in 3 times without giving me any kind of exam? Apparently, they are just here to bill your insurance as much as possible. People come to primary care doctors specifically to help find any issues early, but you can't detect issues in advance of them becoming problems if you don't conduct basic health exams. Moreover, the visits he had me come for could have all been handled in advance of any visit. The office could have contacted me at any time before my first visit to have me fill out records releases. And if any records didn't show up timely, they could have contacted me to follow up with those other doctors. That would have eliminated the need for those first two visits. Instead, they were inefficient - presumably because they just wanted to needlessly and endlessly bill my insurance. Anyway, long story short, Dr Carlson is a nice man and maybe a good doctor, but the way this practice is run is horrible. It's clearly more about billing your insurance and collecting your copay than it is about your health. Don't waste a year of your life like I did. Go somewhere else for your PCP needs.
