They were sure it was the fridge fan which they immediately replaced (no electronic testing gear needed?). The refrigerator/freezer worked ok for a few weeks then same issue reoccurred. They came back & replaced the thermostat but gave me a very reasonable bill for the part to pay once I was satisfied with the service call (which I paid a month later).
