My mother recently had a wound on the heel of her foot which resulted in serious medical…read morecomplications and after several weeks landed her in the hospital with a blood infection and elevated heart rate. She was released to a rehab center for additional care before going home and was confined to a wheelchair while she healed over the next 2 weeks. I was advised to engage a home care agency. The rehab facility contacted My Home Companion for me and one of the owners, Paul, met with me at the rehab facility, explained everything to me, indicated that they were there to help in any way and were ready to start when my mother left rehab. I completed the paperwork then and there. When she was discharged, Paul arrived at my mother's place with a caregiver. They provided 24 hour a day care for 10 days following her discharge. They not only took care of her in her home, but also transported her to the hospital for her infusion treatments as needed. We found their caregivers to be compassionate, professional, knowledgeable, engaged and always arrived on time. They cleaned, did some laundry, and ensured my mother made it to the dining area for her meals. We found the company to be honest and trustworthy. Each caregiver was flexible when needed and I could count on reasonable communication. I would recommend them to anyone who needs assistance and, if needed, would not hesitate to reengage with them to help out again.

Both my husband and I have been very pleased with the quality and scope of their services. In addition to the clinical and emotional support, My Home Companion also enthusiastically participates in the spiritual needs of clients. Our caregiver is very gracious and understanding of my husband's daily living skills. She tends to my husband's needs and accompanies him to church whenever he is able to attend. This means so much to us in dealing with his memory issues. Given that I need to work, it gives me peace of mind to know that my husband is at home with a caring provider.
