An amazing surgeon, lets get that out of the way. But the after care was slim to none. My mothers surgery was done amazingly, and her foot is healing great. Surgery= 100% But no post care was given. She was sent home with a perscription for pain killers for a week and thats it. 1 week appointment intervuls, to just check the stitches and re-bandage the foot. But no referals to specialists in helping prevent blood clots, no references to anyone knowledgeable in post surgical recovery. She ended up getting Pulminary Embolisms which were nearly fatal, and it wouldnt have happened if the group bothered to check on other symptoms than just pain. It wouldnt have happened, if they provided instructions on what to do in an event of comolications. Not only that, when the office found out she was even in the Hospital post surgery (the ER mind you), they sent "a good friend" of Dr Bloom. Not the actual dr that even worked on her foot. You would think if a Dr found out one of their patients wound up in the ER, especially due to post surgical complications, said Dr would call their patient at least. Not send a lacky to say "why are you here? You got this." If you want a wonderful surgery, this is your place. But keep in mind your recovery doesnt matter to them. read more

After seeing a doctor there for an infected toe from a pressure sore, he said it was healed, didn't need anti biotic lotion and no need to cover. Two days later, it was reinfected, red and painful. Wound doctor set me straight and said to keep it covered till it looked normal. read more

Podiatry practices require long explanations. My apologies, folks. Nearly 20 years as a patient were completely wasted because a number of people (including doctors) found it necessary to gossip about me for no reason. I had sent an email to their "Customer Service" faction due to the fact that I'd been concerned about some aspects of their practice that I'd experienced the previous day. However, they disliked the fact that I used it at all. If they would prefer that Customer Service did not blemish their generally good reputation, I have a message for this house of hubris: Don't provide it as a means for patients to send inquiries about whatever ails them. Then again, it certainly seemed as though a number of supposed "professionals" utilized my information and questions as a means of revealing their shadow selves ~ that is, their talking heads without masks. Their utter lack of gracious behavior was shocking. I expected a somewhat lengthy explanation to my email, but I also expected a humble tone and an open channel for questions. No, I only received derision. Even when I told the young woman that she was trying to shame me and that's *not* exceptional customer service on her part, she claimed that she didn't know what I meant. Dear lady, I am THE PATIENT. If not for patients, you would not have a paycheck and a job. Start treating us with some dignity. I can't possibly be the only one you abuse. These are the people to whom you take your problems and entrust with their care and resolution. I required thorough and respectful treatment, but then I had to explain why her insolent decorum was heinous. Repeat: I had to explain why. That in itself should speak volumes. I worked in customer service for over a decade, and if I shot my words at a client in rapid-fire fashion and never allowed them to respond or ask questions, I would have been fired or at least written up. Nowadays, it's de rigeur and even the manager or owner will back up the hapless lackey. Then I mentioned some of the email's contents and she was all too willing to spew what the doctors had said about me. In fact, the doctors encouraged it or so she said! I was stunned. This is unprofessional, abhorrent and might even be a HIPAA violation. I asked about the repetition of diabetes as a question or theme (I was hassled by their techs several years ago and didn't want a repeat performance) and the slipshod way in which my nails were cut and filed as I have an ongoing fungal infection with pain. The answers were rude, mean and idiotic. Even the newest addition to their team had the absurd audacity to project as she was the one who only partially cut and filed them until I asked for some improvements. My inquiry apparently raised her ire. Really? Well, your technique needs improvement. Take it down a notch, doll. Your bruised ego is showing. Oh, that's right. I'm supposed to be grateful because the practice doesn't provide that aforementioned service to non-diabetics anymore. And how was I supposed to know that I'm in a special category? I'm only in your office once every 9-12 weeks, and nobody tells me anything except the date and time of my next appointment. Also, I've already dealt with another practice that lied to me outrageously. Why should I think that you're any different? At this point, nobody plays egregious head games with me for intimidation purposes. Over half of what you said was unnecessary, but it was clear that you and your doctors wanted to shut me up for reasons unknown. The reaction to my email was incongruous to the contents of the email itself. I didn't expect or deserve a spiteful smackdown for simple concerns that I had every right to mention! A vile little incident that occurred several years ago was evidently the product of my warped imagination. Christ, it was NOT! What is the matter with the people in this practice? Maybe certain folks missed their calling and should work for the police department instead. Gone are the days of nurturing the patient and taking the desk jockey (or podiatrist) to task. I'm not willing to morph into everyone's scapegoat simply because you're a bunch of narcissistic bastards! I also don't want to use something specifically designed for patients (the "Customer Service" part of the website) and then become castigated for the favor as you scorn what I proffered. That is irrational and unfair. And I can only imagine how my feet would look in a few weeks if I deigned to be there for my next appointment ~ which will be canceled as I switch to a better practice that doesn't berate their clientele. The worst! I went here on multiple occasions and saw Dr. Farlyn Charlot for severe heel pain caused my plantar fasciitis and heel spurs! I'm really not sure why I even went back, every appointment was JUST worst than the last. But, I was in so much pain and discomfort, I guess I was desperate! This physician has no bedside manner, no charm, and severely lacked patient empathy!! It was like being in the room with a cold fish! Worst yet, medical necessities that I believe she should have been performing, were done by her less than experienced assistant. This way she could rush off to the next patient! This literally happened everytime! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE $$$$$, and not patient care and patient satisfaction! Just Horrid!!!!Honestly, I really felt cast aside at every appointment and interaction with Dr. Charlot. After her assistant created a cast for my feet, I complained repeatedly that they actually made my plantar fasciitis worse. So much so, I was in literally tears! My concerns were casted to the wayside. After months of anguish, I threw them away and purchased Dr. Scholl's Pain Relief Orthotics for Plantar Fasciitis! With doing my daily stretches, wearing supportive footwear and these inserts, they worked 1000 times better than the sloppy mess, I received from this group. What a waste going here! Yikes! read more
