They were able to do almost all of the work in the Fall, and we couldn't have been happier with the results. They noted they'd need to come out in the spring to install the ground cover, as it wouldn't survive being planted in the cold. As spring sprung, Greenlawn did not contact me. I reached out on April 2 and began a ridiculous game of back and forth until they "completed" the work on May 25. At one point, I was told they were "extremely busy" right now. Considering I paid for this work last Fall, this isn't exactly my problem. The completed work was terrible and it was suggested that "[my] expectation of filling in the entire bed was not realistic." It was not my expectation! The whole project was designed by Greenlawn! I've had to finish the work myself so that the beautiful yard isn't ruined by a terrible finish to this project. Doug seems like a great design consultant and clearly knows his stuff. We couldn't be happier with the brick work and our new lawn, but the absurdly bad service and work to complete the project has left an incredibly bad impression. I wish I could recommend working with this company, but I definitely cannot.

Construction has been a mess and they were just shut down by the City of Chicago with a Stop Work Order for failing to obtain the proper permits. They also received a warning from the City for failing to have appropriate recycling bins. The management company has been completely unreasonable turning off water without enough notice, randomly shutting down the washing machines and nickel and diming tenants. I would recommend searching elsewhere for ANY service they provide. I wish I could post pics of the mess, the terrible landscaping, the overflowing garbage and invasion we've had to deal with.

When we did the walk-through, they let us know that it would be a 2 - 3 day project. It was finally complete after 33 days. To be fair, there were some really rainy days, but an inspector had to come out to our house 4 times. In the beginning, the communication was severely lacking. We ended up having to call them almost daily to get a progress report. Our front yard was torn up for SO long, it made us seem like the messy neighbors! And we didn't have any explanation as to why unless we contacted them!! Towards the end, they were MUCH better at communication, probably because we become the thorn in their side, calling each day. At the end of the project, I hoped they would give us some sort of discount for grossly underestimating the time it would take, but alas, they did not. They chose to argue with me which left me with a bad taste in my mouth instead of giving us a little bit of monetary compensation, which would have made things feel A LOT better than they did. In the end, our project looks nice! But it was not worth the hassle. Do your self a favor and DIY or hire a different company.

It was a complex project that involved cutting a square hole in porcelein pavers that were angle set, installing new concrete piers and building a sturdy frame with waterproof membrane. Hot tub installation then involved removing an outlet in a deck post, removing many feet of ipe/cable railing, forklifting the hot tub up onto the deck, positioning it correctly, replacing the ipe/cable railing and outlet, and cleaning up after themselves. And all of this done with great communication throughout, a great smile and a sense of humor. We'll be reaching out to 847 for any future hardscaping work.
