My name is Dave, I'm a homeowner and slightly Disabled American. I attempted to first cut down my front lawn Lake Birch tree (this part I managed) and then pull a stump myself (that part I could not) but found the task beyond difficult and endangering my health. I called around over two weeks ago and happened upon Monster Tree Service of Lake County, who's salesperson was speaking to my next door neighbor. I wanted it done that week but they told me "You'll get it done when it's convenient for us. Two weeks rolled by with me being ignored both telephone and emails not responded to. I attempted to reschedule two days prior to the time 'he' was available (nothing was confirmed) and within five minutes the owner called me to chew me out for cancelling. He was driving but felt the need to reach out and threaten me with "a hundred and fifty dollar ($150 dollar) cancellation fee" after first telling me that "If you can't deal with our time table, you should go with another company," essentially cancelling the service with insults. The owner of Monster, Bill Juenger, is exactly that, the proverbial Monster, a rude, insulting, pretentious, prima donna who talks down to customers he does not even know. I hung up on him, sent a cancellation email, and again called around. Now I state this negative because it is such a contrast, such a dichotomy, it is remarkable to the positive. Often as a consumer, it can be hit or miss. Well, I got lucky when I found Laguna's Tree Service. I spoke to Mario of Laguna's Tree Service and he was very accommodating. Not only was his quote very attractive, but he came out the very next day. When they arrived (on time), Martin jumped out, and without pause, cut what was left of the double stumped tree into little handle-able pieces for me...basically, firewood. He even saved a longer piece for me for my mushroom growing experiment. But here's the thing. I expected the little stump grinder I saw in YouTube Videos when I was thinking of renting one. Lagunas BROUGHT A TANK! The biggest Stump Grinder I had ever seen. Mario got to work and I shot video as this thing ate the stump like lunch. I asked for at least several inches so I could plant a new tree. I got a crater! PH&*K!NG AMAZING! I timed them. In at 4:00pm, out at 4:21pm with the huge machine off, grinding, and then reloaded in 21 minutes. I was blown away. And both guys, not only polite, not only professional, but personable. The stump is now a healthy mix of dirt and wood chips, which will actually create a great bed for the new tree. I highly recommend Lagunas Tree Service. This is the second time that I have used their services to trim an enormous willow tree as well as other trees on the property. They also removed some trees, ground stumps, removed the debris and cleaned up the yard. Mario is very professional and good-spirited. He responds quickly to requests and provides an estimate on site. Lagunas Tree Service is concerned about providing an environment that will allow the trees to thrive as well as the aesthetics. Mario made a number of suggestions and backed all his recommendations with reason. The team arrives on time. There is a truck with the company's logo on site. Proper safety equipment is used. Mario prides himself and his team on trying to do whatever is necessary to prevent accidents. Pricing is fair and competitive. Laguans Tree Service is EXCELLENT!!! I would HIGHLY recommend using them. We had a big job for Lagunas--we needed two VERY large oak trees (~40ft tall), and two pine trees (~30 ft tall) removed (with the stumps grinded), and we needed a very large limb removed from an additional oak tree on our property. I should mention that the Large oak trees were pretty close to our house. Not only did they do a fabulous job taking down the trees, but they were so courteous! They got the work done in one day, and they cleaned up after themselves: they blew off the debris from our roof & driveway, and they the area they were working on. With such a big job, they came armed with quite a bit of equipment and a good sized team. We have a lot of large of trees on our property and we were in need of a reputable tree service vendor--Lagunas will be our go to Tree Service from now on!:) read more

Professional and affordable, Mario and his crew provide excellent tree trimming, removal and stump grinding services! He is a fast responder. Showed up same day, friendly, professional, gave us an estimate on company letterhead right on the spot. His pricing is extremely competitive because he is an experienced arborist who knows what the job takes and what it will cost. He doesn't fool around with guessing and overbidding a job. On the day of the job, they were on time, prepared, company logos, safety equipment, worked efficiently and provided proper clean up. They were so proficient that I recommended them to my neighbor and Mario was able to give her an estimate and perform the pruning, tree climbing, removal and stump grinding she needed same day. We had a dead tree in our backyard that was fenced in and difficult to get to. I received 2 quotes and one of them was from Mario and his team. Mario was able to access the dead tree in very tight quarters and did not damage a thing. They did a great job and were so reasonably priced. Their crew works hard and are meticulous with their work. I received another quote from a different vendor named Robert. When Robert found out we were going with Mario and his team Robert reached out to Mario and criticized him for giving the work away. How unprofessional for a vendor to do that to another vendor. We were extremely happy with Mario and his team and will reach out to him again in the future. In fact he is already doing work for our neighbor. Beware of Robert and his quotes. They were more than double the price. read more

This service was truly amazing from the start I called to get a estimate and that when I realized I was talking to a true tree removal expert it was the proud owner Mario that I spoke with. That same day he came out and survey the tree in question and gave me history on what kind of tree it was and the issues going on with it. I did have two other company's that came out and there was no comparison this proud owner was leaps and bounds above the rest. The estimate that was given was very good and reasonable and was able to get it scheduled. On the day of removal it was safety first and the respect for the property was above and beyond. Lagunas Tree Service Inc should actual get zero or negative stars. They cut down a healthy tree that was only to be trimmed. They put chainsaw nicks and jagged stubby cuts in all the trees the trimmed, knocked down the gutter extender, and left branches behind the garage. Worst of all, the crew drove the skid loader over the front and back lawn and through a garden bed causing extensive damage. They tore up large areas of the lawn and destroyed about $1500 in landscape plants in the garden with the skid loader. Mario was very rude and said he did me a favor then told me to pay him so he could go to his next job. He was is also dishonest and does not do the job as he committed to do. I have hired Mario Lagunas twice for tree removal. Today was the second time when he and his crew arrived to remove a 20' arborvitae tree that split in two from the weight of snow from our most recent storm. Mario did a great job. He and his two man crew were able to remove the downed tree, extract the stump, and trim a couple low hanging branches from a Bradford Pear tree that I was concerned about. And, he did it for a very reasonable cost. Mario has the necessary equipment to do the job right, he was on time and cleaned up (as best as possible for the weather conditions). I will happily hire Lagunas Tree Service again and I appreciate their prompt response to my storm damage in very cold temps! read more

We had an old Oak Tree uproot and fall against our roof in the recent storm, Sept 2016. I called Lagunas Tree Service after conducting an online search. They were highly rated and we found out why. They were out the day I call to check out what was needed to be done. The next day they took the tree down despite it size and proximity to the power lines and hanging over the house. Very professional and skilled. I couldn't believe the job they did and the clean up after wards was amazing. I hope you don't experience a tree falling on your home but if it happens I would highly recommend Lagunas Tree Service. Mario and crew did such a great job that I wanted to show you all his work! His crew removed an odd bunch of dozens of offshoots of apple trees and the huge stump they were coming from as well as a mostly dead Dr. Suess looking tree in the back. He also raised the canopy of a droopy crabapple tree in back as well as a slender and thin tree in front that needed some help. I was pleased with every part of the job from their business manner, to the great price, the promptness and politeness of the crew, and the clean up after. Lagunas has helped us MANY times! They are very professional, the only company I've ever worked with that has been on time and has left the area they worked in in better shape than they found it. The first time we used them is when a tree fell on our house, they were out within a half an hour, got straight to business, came ready to help us, and didn't take advantage of us for being in an emergency situation unlike every other laborer we worked with after our storm damage. Just want to say Mario and his crew were fantastic. Meet with Mario on Sunday, about a tree removal and another one to be trimmed, to help prevent storm damage. We were planning to do this in about a month. Wouldn't you know it, two days later storms hit and took out thirty percent of the tree to be trimmed. We called Mario, and told him of our problem and he was able to come out the next day. He took care of the original job and more. Called for an estimate to clean-up my 2 back yard trees after seeing the sign on my way to work. Mario came and walked the property. He listened to my concerns & offered some suggestions (I had to brace my pine tree in front from the strong winds we'd had). Called him back a few days later and scheduled the appointment. Crew was clean and efficient; they even cleaned the area of small debris! Called Mario two weeks later to cut down the pine tree. Glad I did - No more liability worries! Again, clean and efficient. Mario has it all! Experience; the best price; the right equipment and a great crew! You will not find a better company to take care of your tree needs. They removed 4 trees, ground 5 stumps and removed a dead branch that was hanging over the neighbor's gazebo. Mario knew exactly what he needed to do to keep the dead branch from falling onto the gazebo. Using ropes and branches above the dead branch as a pulley system, he was able to cut the big branch and have it land in my yard instead of on the neighbor's gazebo. Amazing to see! He was able to complete the job with his crew a few days later. They were friendly, efficient and did a great job cleaning up our yard. Mario Lagunas and his team were fabulous! They just removed two 25-year old Ash trees destroyed by the Emerald Ash Borer. Mario is the ultimate professional, a good businessman, fully insured, with beautifully maintained state of the art equipment. Don't bother getting estimates, Lagunas Tree Service is the best. Mario was a pleasure to work with, and his team did excellent work and clean-up. I have an half acre property with various trees and bushes. Two trees were removed and everything on the property was trimmed and shaped. After they showed up, I requested some additional bushes be removed, and they accommodated the request no problem. Mario also gave recommendations(not a sales pitch) on what types of trees to use, as replacements for the ones removed. I'm a very satisfied customer! read more
