We were looking for a company to trim our backyard tree. I got in touch with another company and they came out, however they could not complete service until May. Reached out to Jose's trees and he immediately answered my call and questions and sent someone to check the tree out. The gentleman came with his crew provided us a quote and if needed they could complete the job at that moment, which we were able to do so. They did a great job, cleaned more of the tree compared to what other company had told us and had a better quote. I would totally recommend this company and would use their services again. read more

Somewhat disappointed that the reviews on Yelp did not coincide with our experience. After making an appointment to see what work needed to be done, I was willing to use this local business even though I was told to pay in cash when the job was completed. The appointment was made to get the job done at a selected time but... no workers. I called 2 hours later to see what happened and was told the workers couldn't find our house and decided to go to lunch instead of calling me or the office. The crew arrived within the next 10 minutes of my call and the work was completed to our satisfaction. When payment was made (in cash) I asked for a receipt. Receipt was going to be sent to my email. So far, no email receipt received. Oh, the bill was quoted as $95.00 more that what was agreed on the day before! Nope! I paid the originally agreed upon price. So, 3 stars. Good tree trimming but lousy/ inconsistent customer service. I think I've learned a lesson from all of this about Yelp recommendations. read more

Jose's Trees came out immediately and Jose gave me an estimate. The price was very competitive and I hired them on the spot. 4 people came out to prune 4 smaller trees and trim a 45 foot ash tree. The equipment used for the large tree was state of the art....computer controlled to move and no wheels so it did not tear up the lawn. All 4 workers were very respectful and hard-working. They did a great job pruning the trees and making sure everything was done to my expectations. They did an outstanding job cleaning up all of the debris from the trees. They took special care while working and checked in with me to be sure they had completed the work satisfactorily. I was beyond pleased and will use them in the future and recommend them to my neighbors and friends. read more

I got in touch with Jose regarding a river birch tree at the front of my house that was starting to extend onto my roof. I received a fair quote the same day following an in-person review of the tree and the service was performed the next day. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work that was performed. The crew removed one of the main branches that was growing on to my roof and also cleaned up the entire tree as a whole. I hired Jose's Trees to do some major work in my backyard. The work was satisfactory but when his wood chipper was being used in the backyard, it threw some chips that broke a window and put a hole or two in the aluminum siding. I only asked him to pay for the broken window for which I got a quote of $350. He said he would so I went ahead and got the window repaired. After repeated requests for reimbursement, I gave up but instead asked him to do a smaller job in the yard in exchanged for the $350. The first request was to removed a large evergreen. His quote was $750 so I used a company that did it for $350. My second request was to remove three old emerald greens. After months now, I have given up and will have to pay someone else. I'm very disappointed that he damaged my home, said he would pay for it, and has ignored any requests. I would not recommend him since he doesn't honor his commitments. read more

Had an appointment schedule for 9:30 this morning. José was a no show and no call. After I called and texted him, he asked if we could reschedule for 11:00. I wasn't going to be available then and there is no guarantee he would show up on time then. We are all busy. At 10:31am Jose came to look at two 20ft flowering pear trees that I wanted completely removed. Boy these guys work hard! They did exactly what they said they would, at a very decent price and left the yard pristine. I needed 3 large branches from a giant tree in my backyard cut because they were in danger of damaging a neighbor's house. They paused briefly when it began to rain, but rather than leaving for another day, they waited it out and completed the job. I had quotes from other companies, one twice as much as Jose's and all were rude or pushy. Jose's came, looked at the job and got me a quote right away. I would never go with anyone else. Jose and his crew worked yesterday and today to take down two giant dying Elm trees, as well as prune 5 other trees. I can't say enough good things about Jose's Tree Service of Round Lake Beach! From the first phone call to the estimate appointment to the work yesterday and today, Jose and his crew were professional, reliable, and did excellent work. This was a very difficult job with many of the major limbs going over power lines, fences, a shed and into a neighbor's yard. They worked smart and carefully to make sure nothing was damaged. When they left today, there was not one leftover branch anywhere on my 1/2 acre property. My neighbors were all impressed by their great work and a couple were asking for estimates on their work.
