Car fax showed it to be clean title with no accident history. Car only had 45,000 and shouldn't have this much corrosion and rust. Almost like salt water damage. Possibly a hurricane vehicle. I couldn't tell at the time of purchase. But since purchase I've discovered the entire vehicle is plagued with rust. Car has been in the shop for a week trying to cut bolts off to replace parts. By the time I realized what I bought it was too late. Dealership refuses to give me a copy of the inspection done on the car. read more

Come to find out it was at the epicenter of Hurricane Sandy. The clutch burned out 10 days after purchase, said we were riding the clutch, Ha! Learned to drive on standard. Said we should have bought their repair service warranty. Then the exhaust system went, corrosion, now the whole engine. I would never, ever buy a car from these people. Car is only a few years old and shouldn't have this much corrosion and rust. Almost like salt water damage. Possibly a hurricane vehicle. I couldn't tell at the time of purchase. But since purchase I've discovered the entire vehicle is plagued with rust. Under the carpets, in the doors, the undercarriage, screws in the trim, etc. even the tire valve stems were corroded, rusted TPMS sensors, and the valve stems were leaking 10-15 psi per day on 3 of the 4 tires. By the time I realized what I bought it was too late. Car has a funky smell they said would go away. It hasn't despite interior detailing and having my carpets professionally cleaned and shampooed FOUR TIMES. read more

Earlier this year, my wife was involved in an accident that unfortunately totaled out our paid off and running solid Honda CR-V. We are planning on expanding our family in the near future, so this was an opportunity to get our family a minivan. We found a few Honda Odysseys that were right in our price range that we liked, and after test driving a few and going over the features and mileage, we found one we wanted at Affinity. The sales staff was friendly and accommodating as we went through our selection process, visiting the site several times over a few weeks as we looked. They allowed us to test drive on our own terms, without a salesman piggybacking with us. All in all, the selection process of the vehicle was first rate. However, that's when our problems with Affinity began. We were a one car family after the accident, which wasn't a problem in the middle of summer since I was able to bike and take trains to work. It wasn't an idea situation, but for a few weeks it worked. Unfortunately, I was involved in a bike crash that separated my shoulder and put my bike completely out of commission. We needed a new vehicle, and we needed it right away - definitely not the situation you want when purchasing a vehicle. On our test drive of the minivan we wanted, we noticed (and confirmed with a mechanic) a couple of small problems that needed to be fixed. When we sat down with the salesman to negotiate terms, suddenly this man who works with and around cars as a living seemed to have no knowledge of how they work or what it would cost to make very common repairs. He pleaded that the mechanics were not there and they're the only ones with access to such ethereal wisdom. Negotiation over these repairs simply wasn't on the table. It was also at this point that a mystery couple who had been looking at this vehicle for months but had been unable to purchase suddenly materialized that very day! They were very interested in the vehicle and in fact (after weeks of no contact) had called about it while we were on our test drive! It was painfully obvious that they were lying. There was no other couple- we knew it, and they knew we knew. They wanted to take advantage of us because of my injury situation. Walking away would have made me getting to work extremely difficult, and the price of the vehicle was still reasonable. I'm embarrassed to say that we still went through with the purchase. I had felt that our backs were against the wall and we didn't have much choice. The days packing cars with sawdust and extremely shady under the table deals to gouge desperate people that were described by John Steinbeck in The Grapes of Wrath may have changed, but the people are still the same. I'm sad to report that Affinity Auto Sales is your stereotypical lying, deceptive used car company. It's really unfortunate that they turned out that way after such a good experience leading up to closing the deal. If you shop at Affinity, remember that used car salesmen are liars. All of them. They're not your friend, they're not looking out for you, they don't care what's best for you. Don't believe them. Call them out on their lies. It was an embarrassing experience for me, but I learned things I thought I already knew. And, buy your car BEFORE you crash your bike! read more

This was one (if not the best) of the most delightful experience I've had at a car dealer. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and was helped right away. I was not approached in the parking lot (when will other salesman know that is NOT normal, Doesn't happen at Sears or Best Buy). It wasn't until I walked in is when I was greeted nicely by the woman at the desk. She drove the vehicle I was interested in up to the front door and let me take a test drive. Alec (the salesman) was friendly but more importantly HONEST. He made the process extremely easy and we ended up buying the truck. I went again today to look for a good vehicle. For about 20 minutes, I wandered through the sales lot outside. I am must have looked at 30 different vehicles. At no time was I ever greeted or offered assistance from a sales person. And frankly, I found most of the vehicles on the high-end of pricing. Maybe this new location has high overhead. read more

I purchased a clean title car from Affinity auto which turned out to a previously wrecked lemon. Within two hours of driving off the lot, we became stranded on the highway. We limped the car to a local motel with a check engine light on, a major misfire issue, and radiator fluid spewing everywhere. After paying $400 for towing, diagnosis, and repairs, our journey had just begun. Later we learned the car had been wrecked and repaired. It had a broken tie rod end, TWO bad CV joints, burned out taillight and interior lights, bad wipers, hoses in need of replacement, a bad set of plug wires, and needed alignment badly. We learned the car has a minor leak in the head gasket which will eventually need to be repaired at a cost of $2000+. So far, we are in the car for over $1000 in unexpected repairs. The dealer is friendly and accommodating, but a this point, I'd would have rather bought a working car from an unfriendly dealer than to buy a lemon like this from a place that is all smiles and handshakes. read more

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a deal done with Affinity Auto, but i'm still leaving 5 stars because of how helpful & informative they were! Devon even ran some numbers on a quote another dealer had offered me & gave me his honest opinion. I know he was being honest because he actually told me I was getting a pretty good deal through them. Not many dealers out here would do something like that. I've been to many dealers in & around the Salt Lake valley & my experience at Affinity Auto was definitely the best. They aren't pushy at all & are happy to answer any questions regardless of whether it benefits them. Wish I could've made a deal with them, but i'll definitely be taking my truck here to get serviced & for any other mechanical needs. Highly recommend. Very trustworthy & honest. read more

I purchased a used Toyota Camry from these guys at asking price. The salesman claimed they were upside down on the car and couldn't drop the price at all. (This should have been a big warning sign to me, but I was naive and didn't think too much about it.) A day and a half after I bought it, the check engine light popped on. I called them and they told me to bring the car in so they could diagnose the problem and we'd go from there. I did this, and after sitting in the waiting room for around an hour, I was told that they couldn't find the problem and to diagnose it any further would cost me around $200. I was then told that only after I paid for further diagnostics, they would consider options to "maybe help me pay for the repair depending on what it was," but would not give me any specifics on what they would be willing to do. At this point my trust level with this dealership was nonexistent so I took it to a more trustworthy place. They diagnosed the problem to be a bad EVAP leak detection pump. The repair ended up costing me about $1000. I have no way of proving it, but I'm sure this issue existed before I purchased the car and they just cleared the check engine light for the test drives I took. I tested this possibility by clearing the error codes myself and it would take a day or two of driving before the check engine light came back on, exactly like what happened when I first bought it. They also passed the emissions test on the car, which should not have happened with the bad EVAP pump. So either they ignored this problem and passed the emissions test anyway because they didn't want to fix it, or I am an extremely unlucky customer. Either way, you would think Affinity Auto would have been willing to help me out, but they were not. Their only interest was in milking more money out of my pocket. Because of all this and the way my situation was handled, I am a very dissatisfied customer. I would not recommend or trust this dealership. If you do end up looking at buying a car from them, have a mechanic you trust do a THOROUGH inspection of the vehicle before making any decisions. Affinity Auto will leave you out to dry once the sale is made. read more

Just purchased a low mileage used Toyota and had a very favorable experience over all. Of all the online listings for a specific car, only Affinity actually had the car in the ad. The car had very low miles for a 7 year old vehicle. Jessica actually encouraged me to take the car to my own mechanic to have it inspected. High marks all the way around and excellent CarFax results as well! The only downside was the dealership had ONLY one key. They were helpful in terms of referring me to an outside auto locksmith. HOWEVER, I could never recommend Hi-tech locksmith. He never returned my messages and when we finally set up an appointment he was a no show. STILL HAVE NO 2nd key. So while the dealer is out standing, their recommended support is WAY BELOW PAR.... Other wise the experience was very good. read more

We purchased a used (06 Camry) in 09 with a clean title, but soon after we realized it was a repaint and leaked antifreeze within two months. Now it makes a funny sound when turning and when you go to accelerate from 0 it almost stalls. They showed us the carfax and it looked good but for a car with only 40000 miles it seems to have a lot of problems. I don't know if whomever Afinnity received it from was being dishonest or it was affinity but we feel a little deceived by the experience. read more

Jessica was our saleswoman, and was extremely knowledgeable about the cars, and a pleasure to work with. We were in and out with a "brand new" car (for us) in about 3 hours! No hassle, no gimmicks, just straight up friendliness and customer service! We've had our car for 6 months and have had NO problems with it! I purchased a used car (Corolla, 05) from this dealership in 2006. Low mileage, good price, excellent condition. The paint started chipping a few years ago. It chipped more and more and got to a point where I had to take the car to a body paint shop to get a quote on repainting the car. They told me that the reason the paint chips is because the car is already re-painted, which means that I already bought it re-painted and was not told about it either because Affinity owners did not know about it themselves or decided not to disclose it :( read more

Really wish I could add to the 5 star reviews on here, but my experience has not been such. I purchased a second-gen Tacoma back in April, and the car appeared to be in great shape. Shame on me for not checking everything up front, but I really liked the truck and it had a clean title, Carfax 1-owner, etc. Within a few weeks I discovered that the audio jack didn't work (super minor fix I took care of), the AC didn't work, and a wheel bearing needed to be replaced. I brought it back to them for the wheel bearing, and although it wasn't covered under the extended power train warranty I purchased, they did cut me a 50% discount on the work, which I appreciated. I felt pretty good about everything, until I recently went to get the AC taken care of. The shop I went to, who I've been to before for my previous Tacoma, informed me that the truck had suffered flood damage. Fortunately it sounds like it was well repaired, and everything checked out okay. I really love the truck, and I plan to keep it, although I'm less than impressed with the discovery. Perhaps they didn't know, as it was purchased at auction, and it was really up to me to go over everything before buying. The service I received at Affinity was great, and Jessica in sales was especially nice to work with. But I now wonder if her friendliness was just a facade behind which she knew about the faults in my truck. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. read more
