I trust him implicitly which is good because I've had a lot of work done (like six major surgeries in the past decade). He's compassionate, funny, honest, and a great dentist. He cares so much that he gives his personal number to patients when the office is closed and over holidays, in case of dental emergencies. His office staff are also gems. I've known them for years, but they take such effort to learn new patients' names and are truly interested in your needs. They all work very hard to accommodate patients especially when you are in pain or have an emergency situation. Dentistry can be painful and it can often be expensive which is why I value my doctor and his staff. They soften both blows with their helpfulness and warmth. I'll be very sad the day that Dr. Nunnally decides to retire. Until then, I'll appreciate his practice for the rare jewel that it is, a health professional that treats every patient like a neighbor not a number.

When I checked in, I gave the receptionist my last name. Without hesitation, she greeted me by my first name. That personal touch immediately made me feel seen and valued instead of feeling like just another appointment. As soon as I completed my paperwork, I was called back. Then, when the staff noticed I was cold, they brought me a fresh, cozy blanket. It was such a thoughtful gesture and showed how much they care about their patients' comfort. I was also impressed by the technology. Instead of using the traditional molds for my night guard, they simply scanned my teeth. The process was quick, easy, and fascinating to watch. As an unexpected bonus, I even had a credit on my account. I honestly cannot remember ever leaving a dental office with a credit, so that was a pleasant surprise! Bell Dental has great customer service, thoughtful staff, modern technology, and an experience that exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them!

Two years ago, my plan failed and I had the worst pain my mouth I had ever felt. I found Dr. Ecken's office through my insurance and it was conveniently two miles from my house. I walked into the small waiting room and was met with the best dental experience of my life. This dentist is a straight shooter. She explained each part of the procedure we went through. Explained the x-rays to me, gave me details on problems, and had me in and out of the office in just under and hour. Allegedly they didn't receive my call in for a missed appointment and billed me a no show fee. They asked what number we called from & later asked which mailbox did we leave a message on. BEWARE OF POOR COMMUNICATION AND FINE PRINT: The dentist may…read morebe excellent, but the business practices and front-office experience have completely lost my family's trust. I have been a patient at Magnolia Dental, and my son is also a patient there. I have been very happy with the dentist and clinical care, which makes this especially disappointing. My son is medically complex and has been seen at Magnolia several times over the past year. The office successfully billed several thousand dollars in treatment to our insurance, so they were familiar with our family and our insurance. Unfortunately, this administrative and billing experience has completely changed our decision to continue care there. I recently had to cancel appointments the same day because of a sudden viral illness. I understand dental offices have cancellation policies, and I paid the resulting $165 in cancellation/no-show fees. Because the payments were received after their cutoff date, I was then charged an additional $55 collection fee, which I also paid. When I called after settling the balance specifically to get my son's outstanding treatment scheduled, I was told that because the account had been placed in collection status, Magnolia would "no longer provide the courtesy of billing insurance." We would have to pay the entire cost of treatment upfront and submit claims ourselves for reimbursement. I was also previously told that Magnolia would not bill our secondary dental insurance because doing so was considered "double dipping." These are two separate dental insurance policies through two separate employers, one held by each parent. I am simply documenting what I was told. My son's remaining treatment was quoted at more than $500 for fillings and more than $2,600 for the crown--upfront. What made this particularly infuriating was the timing and lack of communication. I had just paid the additional $55 because I was specifically told the balance needed to be resolved before I could schedule. Only after I paid was I informed that the practice would no longer "provide the courtesy of billing insurance." Instead, when I questioned the situation, I was repeatedly told, verbatim, "It was in the paperwork you signed, so I don't know what to tell you." I am not upset that a business has policies. I am upset about how those policies were communicated and enforced while we were actively trying to get necessary treatment completed for our child, whose medical and sensory needs the practice is well aware of. We have now requested our complete dental records and are transferring our care elsewhere. That is genuinely unfortunate because the dentist himself has provided good care. My dissatisfaction is not with the quality of the dental work. It is with the administrative and billing practices and the way our concerns were handled by the front office. Families--particularly those dealing with children who have significant medical needs--need clear, upfront communication about financial policies, insurance billing, coordination of benefits, cancellation fees, and treatment costs. It is especially unfortunate that my child, who has significant sensory needs, had built a trusting relationship with a provider and will now have to lose that connection and start over because of policies that were not clearly communicated. If you are considering this practice, ask what happens if an account enters collections, whether insurance claims will still be submitted, how secondary insurance is handled, and exactly what you will be expected to pay upfront. Get everything in writing. For our family, the trust is gone. Good clinical care cannot make up for an administrative experience that leaves you feeling like you're being punished financially while simply trying to get your child the care he needs. I suppose I am partially to blame for assuming they genuinely cared about their patients as much as their bottom line. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
