They should have this on their website or ask beforehand, but they said they asked if I had HEALTHY teeth....what does that even mean? I don't have meth mouth...what is healthy. No inflammation and must be 1,2,3 in healthy range. Crazy they don't list this on their website but it must be because they want to charge everyone who doesn't know!!! Edit: Thank you for your response, but it does not address the main issue. The $129 new patient visit is presented as a cleaning appointment, but the cleaning is NOT guaranteed. It includes an exam and X-rays with a CONDITIONAL cleaning that depends on findings only determined after the patient arrives and pays. If periodontal disease is identified, the advertised cleaning is not provided even though the patient booked and paid under the expectation of receiving that service. The phrase healthy teeth is vague and not a meaningful screening standard. A clearer approach would be to directly ask whether a patient has ever been diagnosed with periodontal disease or been told by a dentist that they require deep cleaning or scaling and root planing before booking. In my case I already had that diagnosis, and I would not have scheduled the appointment if that had been CLEARLY asked or explained. I scheduled specifically for a cleaning, completed the exam, and was then told the cleaning would not be performed while still being charged the full fee. The issue is not clinical judgment but that the service being advertised does not clearly match what patients actually receive or under what conditions the cleaning will be denied. read more

I was so nervous however after meeting Dr Wettstein and Deanna my nerves were gone. Office staff, Katie was super sweet. Deanna gave me a thorough deep cleaning which had to be done in three appointments however they were done quickly. Finally I had a same day crown. Dr Wettstein was very gentle and I appreciated his great bedside manner. Going to the dentist you never know but I am definitely recommending Affinity dental. I'd like to clarify a few key points, as the office staff's response contained several inaccuracies: 1. My husband did not request a narcotic pain medication. He asked for a stronger antibiotic due to the severity of his symptoms. He only inquired about pain relief if the doctor was unwilling to prescribe a more effective antibiotic. At no point did he seek a narcotic, or a "Strong Pain Medication". 2. The $1,200 invoice already factored in our dental insurance coverage. My husband presented his insurance card at the time of the visit and asked if his benefits had been verified. He was told it would take 30 days to receive that information -- a statement that is simply not accurate. To assume my husband was a "Cash Patient" was incredibly inaccurate and only shows the lack of professionalism with this office staff. After reading more Google reviews, I've come to realize that many patients have had similar experiences. I truly wish I had done more research before sending my husband to Affinity Dental. It's incredibly frustrating and disappointing to be treated with such a lack of empathy -- especially when you're in severe pain and depending on a healthcare professional for help. Earlier today, Dr. Harker contacted my husband via my cell my phone number. I responded politely and explained that there was nothing further to discuss. He seemed confused by how the situation escalated, but it's clear his sudden concern is a reaction to the review I posted -- not a sign of genuine care. His lack of empathy was already apparent during and after my husbands visit, when he dismissed my husband without offering any real support. A stronger antibiotic at that time could very well have prevented the infection from spreading and causing such intense pain. Unfortunately, my husband's condition has since worsened. The infection has spread across the entire left side of his face, with significant swelling near his eye and a large lump at the site of the infected tooth. Thankfully, he has an appointment today with our previous family dentist. I reached out to our insurance agent, who was incredibly helpful in updating our dental coverage so we can continue care with a provider we trust. For that, I'm deeply grateful. I truly hope others are able to find compassionate, professional dental care -- because everyone deserves peace of mind when it comes to their health. I strongly encourage anyone considering Affinity Dental in Queen Creek to read the reviews on Google and Yelp. There is a clear and concerning pattern of unprofessional behavior and a lack of accountability in how they treat their patients. Following the posting of our review about our experience with Affinity Dental and Dr. Harker, we received more than ten back-to-back phone calls from Dr. Harker -- despite clearly stating that we did not wish to engage further. The staff is nice. However, it is unrealistic to have a dental hygienist that you cannot get in to see. My son had an appointment scheduled in January and was sick the day of his appointment. They rescheduled him all the way into September!! We called back to ask if that was really the wait time and the employee said she would put him on the cancellation list. It's been several weeks and no call. Having a family of five, you can't really predict when somebody is going to get sick. Waiting 8 months for your kid with braces to be seen is just unrealistic. I wish I had read the negative reviews before coming here; I would've seen the recurring theme. Really unethical practices at this office. I got pressured into treatment I didn't need. When I pressed them on waiting for my insurance to approve first, they assured me the work ABSOLUTELY needed to be done and they rushed me in to do the additional cleaning over the following weeks (likely trying to get it done before my insurance could process my claim). I was reassured on multiple occasions my insurance would approve and was told explicitly I would only have to pay the balance they gave. Fast forward, everything was denied and I was stuck with the balance. They then failed to follow through on the proper appeals process with my insurance and sent my balance to collections. Unbelievable that I went to get regular cleaning, after X-rays and a history of photos of my teeth, the Dentist suggested I have a Deep Cleaning for which they were going to charge me $214.00 out of pocket. I said no I preferred the regular cleaning, they refused and did nothing but charged me $154.00 out of pocket for the visit. All they care about is money. For the last 7-10 years I've been searching for a good practice! I've either been screwed with appointments, billing or even unnecessary treatment and or sales pressure for ridiculous orthodontics, whitening, etc. I even had a dentist office one time refused to do my free semi-annual cleaning to tell me I had to do their extensive cleaning and pay $150 for it as my dental insurance wouldn't cover it.... (I'm so serious) I've felt for quite sometime detest towards dentists. There was one practice where you had to have two separate appointments: one for the x-rays and exam and a second to come back for the cleaning!! These practices from previous offices are outright unethical and create a bigger divide for the community to get appropriate dental care. This office has changed my attitude and thus I'm writing this review. I've been coming here since we moved to QC in 2019 from Chandler. My Grandmother has been here and I even utilize this location for my four year old daughter (that's how much I love this place). I can't recommend this place enough, nor have I ever wrote a positive review for a DENTAL OFFICE in my life! I love the late night Wednesday! I'm able to schedule my routines after work so that I'm not having to take time off of work. This means a lot to someone in my position. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The service was ahh not great. My frustration was that they charged me before checking with my insurance. After they billed my insurance, they got money back that they held on for two years. Update as of 9/11/24: In response to the "business owner" we received one single phone call and no other attempts were made to reach us so that's a blatant lie. We also attempted to reach out in response to that single call we received and we got sent to voicemail and never got a call back. We also had to go to our credit card company to dispute the charge for our out of pocket cost as despite promises from the office staff, we never received a refund for services that were not even rendered. On top of all of this we went to a different dental office, San Tan Smiles, and after a thorough check up they found she didn't even need a root canal to begin with. Of course a root canal is a far more costly procedure than even an extensive cavity which is in reality all she needed. Of course do with this information what you will but we certainly are of the persuasion that Affinity Dental is out for nothing more than as much money as they can get out of you rather than giving you the care you need. Again make your own assumptions as you see fit but based on how negative our experience was it felt prudent to at least let anyone who cares to do their research that this a place that is best to keep clear of. I switched over to Affinity Dental after moving to Queen Creek. The day of my appointment, my previous dental office was going to send over my x-rays since I just got them done less than 12 months prior. As I waited briefly with the hygienist, she told me after speaking with the Dentist, they were just going to perform their own X-rays and "not to worry about the co-pay" as this was going to be free of charge. I agreed and the X-rays were completed. Well, low and behold they charged my insurance for the X-rays in which my insurance company denied the claim due to just having x-rays within the year. Affinity dental turned around and charged me $65.00. Can you see the problem here? After going back and forth with them and dealing with Shandy (who definitely needs a crash course in customer service) we agreed to pay the $65. (Never about the money, just the principle) The front office staff at Affinity stated the conversation I had with the hygienist "Never happened." I am a Police Officer with a local agency so questioning my integrity doesn't sit well with me. All in all, they lost an entire family for life due to $65.00. I was excited to change dentisits since I was driving all the way to Chandler and I live basically in San Tan Valley. But my last visit just left me feeling eh. I did not like how they went over my treatment plan and made me feel like not a good person. I understand the price of it but if I do not have the money and you proceed to tell me if my tooth breaks you do know that will be another $500 on top of the already $600 for the work on a tooth. Stay away unless you like your appointment times to change every time! Consistently, I have made appointments for myself or my family, and the day before or even a few hours before my originally scheduled appointment, I get a text notification that the appointment is 20-30 minutes earlier or later. They must try to change appointment times if there is a cancellation, however, I do not appreciate changing times without being asked. We have gone here for several years, but now will go elsewhere. read more

Most normal dentist offices don't charge for a cleaning or charge you $900 total for a full cleaning?? no wonder why their "tech" is always booked out for over a month and their techs say people leave here and never come back! This office does a great job to landing your business. The dental exam went well. My daughter had 3 cavities and we scheduled the work. Went in today and the hygienist was great but according to my daughter the dentist was more concerned with talking with his staff than her own welfare. At the end of the procedure no one gave her any instructions and the dentist seemed to be more concerned about moving on to his next patient than actually providing good after care. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff at Affinity Dental. They always get me in for appointments on short notice, and always with a smile. The girls at the front desk and the assistants are always so pleasant and cheerful, and Dr. Wettstein is probably the most competent dentist I have ever met. I needed a tooth extraction as well as a dental implant done asap, and he was able to not only fit me in on the same DAY, but had it all completed within about 2 hours, saving me a lot of time and pain in the process. Both me and my wife had work done here and at the beginning we had an okay experience but than a short while later I started to have issues with the same teeth I went back and gave them a chance to fix it and the dentist that did the work was no longer there. The owner looked at my xrays and immediately sent me to a root canal specialist. He just dismissed me, I was not important!! I wasn't sold that I needed a root canal as a have had them in the past so I went to a different dentist and he was able to fix the issue for only $120 which is a fraction of what they were trying to charge at affinity. I also ended up getting another tooth redone that affinity did a feeling in yet they claim they do nothing other than the best work there. I was on a payment plan and quit paying as I felt I didn't get quality services. The office manager just called me and said that she needed a new arrangement or she would be suing me. I started to explain my side as I anticipated paying a lower price because I wanted to make things right the manager started to interrupt me and continued to do so throw the rest of the conversation as she was yelling at me telling me they only do the best work there and she wasn't going to speculate wether I had to have it all redone!! So instead of making an arrangement I ended up hanging up on her, it was pointless to try and talk to her because all she was going to do is interrupt me anyway!!!
