Not only would they not treat me pain , but they offered me an invasive procedure to "help with the pressure from infection " that they would charge me for! They did not have accurate blood pressure machines so it was reading my extemley high. Like stoke high! And I kept asking them to repeat my BP . They did it once and used the same machine on the right arm. So they wouldn't do any work that day . Keep In mind I was in insane pain . I have 0 issues with high blood pressure . I rarely leave bad reviews. But to be honestly be careful going to this place. Not only do they upsell you but they do a terrible job. I have been going for years and clearly it has gone downhill. I had a chip on my tooth, they stated they fixed it and it broke off. They did fix it after I complained. They charged me for something my insurance covered. It wasn't til I noticed and said something that they gave me a credit. They added a crown because they stated I needed one. I am still having the same issues as when I went in. Every aspect of my appointments were phenomenal from the front desk staff to the dentists, I felt that my needs were being taken care of and was dealt with in a quick manner but still caring about me as a person. I had a routine exam, where the dental assistant Julianna, did an amazing job and was friendly, making the experience a positive one. I'm only giving this business a one star because the work they did was good but they aren't honest and upfront about upcoming appointment or what your insurance will cover. I called today because I received an email to confirm an appointment for my child which I never made. I've got emails reminding me that we are due for our 6 month cleaning for my family but haven't called because we've been super busy. The guy receptionist that answered the phone was extremely rude and told me that either the patient or someone else made the appointment and I explained that it wasn't the case. I told him I didn't appreciate the dishonesty and would have rather called myself to make the appointment instead of them scheduling an appointment without my permission. I also told him for my oldest child, that I didn't appreciate them telling him that he needs to come in every four months for cleaning and that the insurance would cover it when in reality our plan only covers 2 cleanings a year. I got a letter from my insurance that states that now he has hit his limit for cleanings and is unable to get one for the next eight months. I do not recommend this business to anyone regardless if you're an adult or for your child due to the dishonesty and rudeness of its employees. read more

I go regularly have never been told this. They touch teeth and rate them ( bone/ gum density etc) a few apparently needed more care. Dr Tobias was extremely friendly at first. Told me I needed to have a tooth pulled and then an implant or bridge for thousands and thousands of out of pocket money. I've been for consultations and treatment with 5 other dental specials in the last 2 to 3 years and none of them mentioned a problem. I went in today for a bridge on another tooth. He was agitated because I took the medicine he prescribed a half hour early?? Said he couldn't treat me and now won't let me make another appointment. Turns out he was over booked this morning with no time for my appointment so that was his excuse. I took the exact medication he said to take and exactly the same medicine he prescribed for the crown he did a couple months ago. I have had a lot of pre work done there for this bridge at a substantial cost to me. Now I have to start all over??? Very unprofessional service and a crappy thing to do. read more

The upsell they push is insane. Went in January 2024 for first time. Said things were good need to replace an old filing. Then went into a bunch of other teeth "fillings/fixes". The total would be $3000 after insurance. Said no just the one filling and that turned into $800 after insurance. Went for the six month cleaning in July 2024. After waiting for an hour they said my gums were so bad I would need a deep cleaning for $300 after insurance. Told them no just regular. They said for legal purposes they could not do a regular cleaning. I walked out. read more

I've been coming here for years and I have never been disappointed. My husband just started going there as well and he is extremely happy with their service. Even throughout my pregnancies they have been very accommodating. Natalia the new dentist assistant is always so welcoming and has made sure that they follow all precautions since I'm pregnant so it's very comforting every time I go. Highly recommend this office! Went back to my other dentist who now says that they possibly when fixing my cavity drilled to close to the nerve which is why I'm still in pain. When I went to Gilbert modern after and told them I was still in pain from cavity they said it was because my angle of bite is off from grinding my teeth. I never grind my teeth and never will ( as my new dentist confirmed), I was very confused. Now I'm going to get a root canal for this cavity that was once filled there. Not happy as I'm still in pain a year later. Let me also say everyone was nice there which is something I can applaud. We have been going here for 4 years and Dr Lines and his staff are truly the best! They are knowledgeable, have AMAZING customer service, take wonderful care of their patients and walk you through each step of the process so you know what to expect. I had to have a root canal due to bad dental work years before I went to them and loved the fact I was able to get part of it done right away by Dr. Lines. Then I scheduled an endodontist appt at a later date, who finished it there and then Dr. Lines made and placed my beautiful permanent crown right then! It was high quality material. I was referred to this place for my wisdom teeth removal. Plenty of staff. Keep in mind this is a dental office to the previous 'waiting comments' a wait for teeth work is a wait worth waiting. You aren't the only patients. Sometimes people are late an it pushes other appts back. Everyone is really nice an Dr. White is really good with wisdom teeth removal. I've gone in two separate times one for each side an both times i was very satisfied with the results an the whole overall process. They recommended all four at once the first time an I didn't feel pain yet but six months later they were right an I called just in time an was able to get in. Unfortunately, my visit left me uneasy. First, I've never been to a dental office where I had to talk to so many different people throughout the visit, and it took a very long time. I saw a dental assistant, the dentist, a dental hygienist, a billing representative and of course the lady at the front desk. It was my first visit, so I was taken back by the dental assistant for x-rays, photos, etc. Then, the dentist met with me and asked some questions and looked at my teeth and x-rays. He said the hygienist would come in to evaluate my dental hygiene and then he'd be back. A third person, the hygienist, quickly looked in my mouth, checking all my gum pockets. The hygenist expressed distress and concern at the state of my gums, because apparently 30% of my teeth gum pockets measured at a 4. She was recommending I get a deep cleaning with scaling to address the so called problem. The the dentist came back, went over what the hygenist said and reiterated the serious need to do the work she suggested. A fourth person from billing, came in and went over my estimated charges, which totaled just under $200. I definitely felt very pressured to pay for additional services that I supposedly needed but that my dental insurance wouldn't cover. I was in shock, because it was presented to me as if it were truly a necessity, but yet I had never previously been told by any other dental facilities that I needed to anything other than a routine cleaning. When I explained I wasn't prepared to pay for anything, she quickly offered all sorts of payment plans and financing options. I declined, stating that I only wanted what my insurance would cover with the exception of fluoride. I see a dentist for an examine and cleaning religiously every 6 months and have been doing this for over 20 years. I've been to several different offices over the past 10 due to moving, and no other dental office ever suggested anything needed to be done beyond a basic cleaning. Sure, places have tried to get me to buy a special mouth rinse or electric toothbrush, suggested fluoride etc. But a deep cleaning with scaling? No. Never. Not once. Unfortunately, I felt like I was at a used car dealership. I said I only wanted the general cleaning. The dental assistant came back and began to polish my teeth. I was surprised, as routinely, a hygenist removes plaque first prior to polish. She told me I wasn't getting anything other than a polish since I declined their treatment plan recommendation. That's when I began to really worry. I had already been there over an hour and it looked like I was just going to get my teeth polished. I voiced my concerns and explained I was really confused and uncomfortable. I began asking a lot of questions. the assistant said she'd speak with the doctor, who then came back, explaining there was a misunderstanding/miscommunication, and then he did complete the plaque removal. The assistant returned and polished and flossed my teeth. Finally, after an hour and 40 minutes, I was done. It was just a very stressful, confusing experience. I am going to get a second opinion. I liked my previous dentist, but they moved. I guess it might be worth the additional drive time. U rated the office a 2, because even though I felt like they were trying to upsell me, they were respectful and generally pleasant during my interactions and completed the job as requested. read more

Looking for a new dentist and my spouse found them close to our home. The initial visit was good with service and attention then it feels once they have you their communication and service go out the window. I will echo some of these bad reviews and say that they want to max out your insurance and get as much out of you by giving you a list of things ha you have to do. We had 3-4 treatment plans given to us and each time the amount went up. Service is horrible they will tell you they will follow up and they don't. I had the pleasure of speaking with the office manager and asked her that if they were to busy or if they didn't want us as client to let us know so we can look for another dentist. my wife went to this rip off this office is about the biggest bait & switch out there. they quote a price of $119 to clean and do a floride treatment (no xrays) then take payment of $ 119. (we paid in full when we left). they then sent a bill for $392 less the &119 about $273 more than the original quoted price, "go figure" when my wife questioned them they said it's a software issue, sorry, but never corrected, or can't correct the software issue. they will give you the credit only after a bitch session. please do not go there, they try to screw us or you every step of the way! they hope you just pay and let it go. in short find someone that is reputable and stands behind what they say!!!!! they told us that this was a corperate issue that they have no control or input over it and can't even talk to them about it. a dentist has no say or control over what he/she charges, right! very pissed, will never return! read more

Very good experiences with cleanings and checkups with Darbi and Dr. Dow. I switched my whole family over here. Very friendly, no waiting, convenient location. They are doing my daughters' orthodontics too. Had my wisdom teeth out with Dr. White. Could not have been easier. Recommend getting the general anesthesia with Versed and Propofol if you do it. Anthony, Dr. White's assistant was great. He got the IV in the first stick. That was the worst part of the whole thing. Versed and Propofol go in the IV, you go to sleep, wake up (feels like a second later) and it's done. I was afraid I would wake up with pain but there was none. Just a little groggy and stuffed with gauze. There was almost no pain and I am old to have this surgery done so it's usually worse. I have only needed 2 tablets of pain medication since the surgery and that was on the first day. I am amazed that it doesn't hurt at all and swelling is minimal (surgery was yesterday). Dr. White gives you his personal cell phone number and called me at home (on a Saturday) to see how I was doing after the surgery. This practice is the best place to go for everything. Cleanings, surgery, orthodontics. They have everything you need but it still feels small and friendly. The dentists, surgeon, and staff are friendly and take time with you. read more

Outrageous prices. I had a dentist for 7 years in North Scottsdale and when I moved here, I was really hoping to find a dentist that I would love. This plays nickels and dimes you for everything. Furthermore, they used laser during my teeth cleaning, and did not tell me that it would be extra. I found out when I was checking out. I took the same quote they gave me and sent it back to my former dentist and I was able to save over $600 for work. Often times these days, these offices are run by people that aren't even dentists. They charge exorbitant amounts and lose patients. If they lowered their costs, they would make it up by having more patience. By having ridiculous prices, they have fewer patients. I'm just happy that my old dentist was able to look at a quote and give me his quote over the phone. That's also some thing they won't do. You have to go in for their own exam rather than giving you a ballpark estimate. My former Dentist always says, "I can give you a soft quote, but it can always change once I see you." After having an oral surgery booked since mid January they called me last Friday late am saying I had to have have a form completed by my family physician. After a lot of misinformation and passing the book I got the form completed. The dental office did NOT contact me, so I called early this am(surgery tomorrow at 9am ) but the woman said I had to wait until another staff person came in at 9am That was at 8:05,by 12:10PM I still had heard NOTHING SO I CALLED AGAIN and was told they had not received the form but that it was my Drs office fault. To me this is unacceptable. I will not use this office again! It not only inconvenienced me but also the person who had to drive me there, stay there the whole procedure and then after driving me home stay with me for 2 hours. Next day I had 2 calls from my physicians office NONE FROM GILBERT MODERN DENTISTRY. One call was from my Dr apparently GMD insisted I was having General Anesthesia. I WAS NOT. I WAS HAVING CONSCIOUS SEDATION. Totally different rules but my Dr called them and they still insisted it was a full GENERAL ANESTHESIA. I think the office staff are untrained and incompetent. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Think sleezy car salesman but for your teeth. Wifi was crazy slow- all paperwork has to been done on an outdated iPad. It took forever to get through it. I was there 50 minutes before anyone ever touched my teeth. So many X-rays- got cut taking xrays twice from the tech jamming the thing I'm supposed to bite down on. Then finally saw the dentist .... the appointment was 95 minutes long but I never had my teeth cleaned. They then pitched me a deal of the gum pockets needing cleaned out- apparently my gums were too bad to just have your typical, standard cleaning that I've had at every other trip to every other dentist. I never have cavities- they wanted me to come back every 3 months for cleanings.... I waited around for Wifi to start working so they could pitch me this amazing savings plan. DO NOT GO HERE. I was a patient here for a year. I started feeling uneasy with their push for laser and telling me I had periodontal disease. I decided to try another dentist for my follow-up and they told me I had three cavities. While their care was great, their prices were through the roof! I called back Modern Dentistry to see if they could gain back my business and I was told that I had to come in and pay for an exam. I let the front desk know I had a copy of the quote and work needed from the other office. She explained that it didn't matter and they would not give a quote for work until I paid for a visit. What a bunch of malarkey! As you can see, I think a lot of Seville in Shamrock estate residence were excited when this dental office opened. It's in a convenient location and very simple to get to. However, as you can also see, there are dozens of comments that have written negative reviews. However, what have they done to change their practices and make people more comfortable? I feel like dentist offices are now the "Plumber" of our health. You never know if you are getting honest feedback or getting ripped off. According to them I had periodontal disease and needed deep cleaning with a laser antibiotic treatment. Scared the crap Out of me so I forked over the $500 for the procedure. Then I'm told I will need to be seen every 3 months for the foreseeable future due to my "condition". I had an appointment this morning and the hygienist came in to look at my teeth . She told me that my mouth was very inflamed and that I need a super deep cleaning. ( I have nothing against deep cleanings, I have had done before) I have only had a few cavities in my life. I have no issues paying for something I need but I declined and said I would wait to see next time if I truly needed it. She then rudely told me then that my office visit was done and I could not get a regular cleaning because it would be unethical and the doctors license is on the line. I did not know a regular cleaning was unethical. You would think a regular cleaning is better than no cleaning for them to keep their license. So basically they would only do the deep cleaning which is not covered and would not do my regular cleaning which is! Sounds kind of funny!!!!! This office just lost 4 good patients!!!
